The hunt R.O.A.M EVENT

@Elena Jones Elena started to warm up the rocks. There was a POP as one of them split open, but even though the lizards were originally startled, they quickly moved back towards the inviting heat, content with the knowledge that it was just a rock and not anything that could hurt them. Griffith winced when the rock popped, but it was fine. There was nothing really burnable in here, and popped rocks weren't going to hurt anyone. And even if it did hurt someone, it would be something he could immediately fix.
Roll: 15 Roll for rock popping: 14

@Rowan Bane must have been a natural at creatures, because the little lizard crawled over to the boy's hands, placing it's front two claws on the Gryffindor's hand as it reached it's head in to find some of the crickets, not very bothered by the whole situation, although it did look about warily from time to time. Griffith glanced over with a raised eyebrow, debating if he should smile or not. After a few seconds, he decided against it. It was unlikely the boy saw him anyway, he was probably occupied with the Moke.
Roll: 15

@Nico Shymane was keeping very still to be sure, but her limbs still moved a little bit, she couldn't help it. And the mokes noticed. Luckily, they were still being drawn in to the heat, so they were within range of the hat wielding Slytherin, just not within easy range. It was going to be difficult for her to get any, but it was certainly possible. Griffith absently bet with himself on if she could actually catch one like that, and then moved on to the next student
Roll: 7

@Serena Towers released the disgruntled Moke, who, as it turned out, was not the least bit worse for wear. He moved about 5 feet away from the girl and then proceeded to find himself a rock close enough to one of the nearby fireblasts to warm himself on, all in all pretty happy with how the day had gone. But the Hufflepuff, it seemed, was not at all happy with how the day had gone. Griffith was a bit surprised. He was surprised she had an invisibility cloak, and he was surprised that she had released the Moke. If she chose to leave the area, he would tell her to "Meet me in my office after dinner."
Roll: N/A

@Phaedra Stavrou presented the professor with her bag, which he carefully picked up, and looked inside. It took him about 3 minutes before he saw whatever it was he was looking for, presumably the moke, and smiled at the Ravenclaw. It wasn't necessarily a very warm smile, but she had done a very good job, and deserved some sort of immediate recognition. "Very nicely done, Ms. Stavrou. You may either leave, or assist your fellow classmates. We will discuss the price later, with owls." He then turned the bag upside down, releasing the moke back into the paddock.
Roll: N.A. Phaedra successfully catches the first moke

@Elena Jangleton hurls her cloak at one of the Mokes. By some miracle, the lizards were too surprised to immediately run away, and two of them found themselves underneath the cloak. But the two bulges that indicated their positions soon vanished because of the rapid shrinking, and now she had two lizards under her cloak, but no way of finding where exactly underneath her cloak. It was going to be interesting to see how she handled the situation.

Rowan smiled a little wider, looking up for just a moment to see everything in f*cking chaos. Maybe it was best to just focus on the Moke and not the exploding rocks. Yeah. He looked back down at the creature, pushing the loud pops out of his mind.

It looked pretty adorable, but still worried. He knew closing it in wouldn't be smart so he simply let it do it's thing for a few more moments while it adjusted. However more or less after a minute, he gently pet it with one finger, smiling wider. He glanced up at the professor, before he shrugged slightly, deciding he just wanted to spend some time with it before he brought it up to him.

A soft smile appeared on Serena's face as she watched the moke move a few feet away, completely unharmed. It was a look of pure relief as the guilt seemed to lift from her. This task clearly was not for her. She did not hurt the moke but the idea of capturing them for nothing but pleasure seemed harsh to her. "See you around, little fellow," Serena whispered to the little moke, that she thought was actually super cute. After a few moments of watching him, she nodded to herself, before grabbing her invisibility cloak and standing up. The Hufflepuff shoved it roughly into her bag, along with the gloves that she had worn. She made her way towards the Professor after she had collected her belongings.

Phaedra was there, which just made her roll her eyes a little. Of course Phaedra caught a moke. Big surprise there. The teacher's pet Ravenclaw - or at least, that's how Serena viewed her. As a complete suck up, who liked to cosy up to adults so they thought she was amazing. It was an unfair and harsh judgement but Serena was kind of annoyed by her. They were meant to be friends... It annoyed her that Phaedra was just mean to her now.

She waited for the Professor to finish praising the Ravenclaw before approaching him, "I can't seem to catch them. It's too difficult," Serena lied through her teeth. Well not quite lied. She honestly could not convince herself to catch them. On an emotional and psychological level, it was simply too difficult for her to catch the mokes. Physically, she already had one but she would not tell him that. She essentially made it look like she was the one who failed and was simply giving up out of failure now. "This task doesn't seem to be for me... So I'm just going to go..." She continued, shrugging her shoulders as though it did not bother her. The Hufflepuff was simply hoping that he did not see her release the moke on purpose.

"Meet me in my office after dinner."

"Wh-" Serena stared at the Professor, almost flabbergasted at his response. Okay, her actions were not that bad. Why did she have to get in trouble? Geesh, how petty was the man to be annoyed that she no longer wanted to do this stupid task. The second year just stared at him, kind of irritated by the whole thing. But there was very little she could say to that. He had already made his decision and not attending would probably just led to even more trouble. Whilst she did not care if she got a detention, she really rather avoid the headache that came with it. "Fine." Serena begrudging replied before she turned around and walked off, annoyed that she had even bothered to come here in the first place.

Luna silently looked at the rock after it explored and then turned her gaze at the Gryffindor. Well… seemed like the situation was not too different from her first try. Both of them used the Fire-Making spell on rocks. Maybe she shouldn't try to use the spell without more practicing anymore, not to mention, she didn't like using that spell either.

The Slytherin would be really surprised if this guy [Alan] managed to catch them in his first try, which meant the girl already expected him to fail. She looked down to check if he had any injury, luckily he didn't, and neither did she. It would be quite troublesome if they did. Wouldn't be able to continue unless they hid, going to the Hospital Wing and stuff...

“Not really…” She mumbled, started to remember all the information about Mokes. Another idea? Maybe they would find out after going to the place that he just suggested. “We should. About food, as you can see, other than the book over there” Luna looked at the book which was left on the ground a few seconds and then looked back at the Gryffindor, “I only have my wand and my bag. I do not bring anything else.” Not to mention, who would bring the food from the Great Hall to attend a class?

Not waiting for the young lion, she started walking to that place. Fortunately, there were some Mokes there… the only problem now was thinking of an idea to catch them...

Just because I said you were bad does not mean that I am mean. It shows that I am honest.

Elena winced as the rock popped, the laws of thermodynamics were not entirely in her favour at that moment. Oof. At least the mokes weren't too scared off, and Nico was at the ready with the hat.

"Whenever you're ready." Elena said softly, watching the mokes creep closer and hoping her plan would work. It should work, the only thing that could cause proper error was the speed of the students' reaction time or simply the mokes being faster. All about timing she supposed.

"That one there looks pretty close." Elena whispered and pointed at one that was near Nico.

Alan stared at her, she did not seem to have any more ideas than her first try, which kind of frustrated the second year, even though he did not show it in any way. It was not even for the sake of a price, he just wanted to see a Moke, wondered if their skin felt scaly and then he would release it back into freedom. The price Griffith mentioned was just a nice extra, no matter what it was; if not only some praising words.

Alan huffed and picked up his jacket from the ground, before motioning to the rock. ”Another idea, another try: Want to lift that rock and I will hold my jacket in front of it, like a pouch so if they flee the run directly into it! You just gotta lift it into one direction, like an angle so they have to run in my direction...”, Alan explained his idea and knelt down in front of the rock at another place, leaving the shrapnel and exploded bits of stone behind.

Her eyes watched one of the mokes that had come closer to the rocks. Elena saw it too. Holding on to the hat, Nico soflty nodded at Elenas remark.

Slowely turning to the closest Moke, Nico took a deep breath. 'Hnnnyah!' In a split second, she covered the hat over the Moke. Her arms wrapped around the edges of the hat, trying her best to make any escape impossible. Ofcourse, they could've gotten small. Maybe it didn't leave.

As soon as the hat hit the ground, Nico remained completely still. Keeping the hat in place. Moving as little as possible.

'D-Did I get it?' She whispered soflty.

@Rowan Bane was, somehow, not screwing up the unstable relationship he had with the little Moke. It let the boy gently run his finger over it's head, not seeming to care much. It had already more or less decided that the boy wasn't any real danger, although that mindset could be changed at a moment's notice. Griffith looked over at the boy, and decided that this time, he was going to smile. It was an impressive feat that the boy had pulled off, and the welshman assumed that a feat with acknowledgement often felt sweeter than an accomplishment carried out alone. As far as he was concerned, the boy had caught the moke.

@Serena Towers left with a sharp "fine" flung back towards the professor. He probably would have said something else, but he had to keep marginally vigilant. Still, she had let go of the Moke on purpose, and then lied about it. Why? Well, he wasn't sure, but there was a strong suspicion he was holding on to that he would think about more later. For the time being, he had to make sure that the kids weren't going to hurt themselves. Luckily, aside from a few popping rocks that didn't have much potential to injure, and a single backpack he had been required to help out with, the students were being pretty safe. He was impressed enough to reconsider having a R.O.A.M even include some means of flight, even. Which he had certainly not been thinking about when he first created the program.

@Nico Shymane
Apparently, being a nervous wreck did indeed give you lightning reflexes. Or maybe it was just luck, but whatever the cause, Nico had shot forward with speeds that the professor never would have attributed to her. She had been working together with Elena, the team using heated rocks to lure in mokes. The hat had come down so fast the moke almost didn't even shrink. It stood there blinking, shocked, for the fraction of a second it took for the Slytherin to bring the hat down on the moke, securely trapping it.
Roll: 20 MOKE CAUGHT (feel free to rp picking it up in the hat as a team with elena, or by yourself. As far as I'm concerned, the hat landed perfectly and you've got it, unless you do something stupid. And in case you were wondering, this does count as both nico and @Elena Jones having caught one.

Nico caught the moke, the hat was securely over the top of the little creature and Elena almost clapped, before realising it might scare the little lizard further. Elena slipped the paper securely underneath the hat, scooping up the moke in the process, "You got it! The plan was a success! Applause all around, a cigar to you, other happy affirmative idioms. Now to flip the hat, don't forget to hold onto the paper so we've got the moke inside."

Elena waited for Nico to complete their ROAM task, it was exciting to see a plan work so efficiently, made the girl feel all warm and proud and other mushy stuff.

Magic wouldn't help him here, at least he hoped the other girl did not lose her motivation after just two fails, because these were creatures and they were humans. Of course it would not always work out instantly. A thoughtful expression flimmered on his face as he slowly sat up. Magizoologists is what he wanted to be... so wasn't this bad? He glanced towards the bits of shrapnel several feet away from him, before he shook his head and he didn't even want to imagine how hurt the mokes could have been if anyone was hit by the flying pieces. "This was bad... so reckless ", he muttered, still kneeling in front of the rock, slumping down.

Catch. An animal in a fenced area was technically caught, no matter how small or big that area was.

"Luna", he spoke up, "These are ALL caught lizards! " Griffith must have put them in here, because there was no way for a student to sneak into the paddock, so there shouldn't be a way out for a creature either?

He looked into Griffith's direction. "Sir? Didn't you catch those already by putting them in the paddock?"
