Alone in the Gryffindor dormitories, Theodore's frustration mounted as he grappled with his reading. The transfiguration history book he had borrowed from the library proved to be a complex read, and its contents difficult to understand. It didn't occur to him that he might be attempting a level of comprehension beyond his syllabus; instead, he only viewed himself as a failure for struggling to grasp its intricacies. "It's just a bunch of made-up words," he muttered under his breath, closing the book with a sigh and allowing it to slip between the bedboard and the mattress. Perhaps a stroll could clear the mind, or exploring the castle might offer some respite from frustration, Theo pondered as he departed the common room and began to wander.

He ascended the grand staircase, reaching the third floor. While walking down the corridor, a glint of light caught his eye as it reflected off a metal surface. Intrigued, he passed through an archway, leading him into the trophy room. Theo gazed into the glass cases, studying the names of seekers, broom racers, and duelists with a growing sense of envy etched on his face. At just 12 years old, merely in his first year at Hogwarts, he couldn't shake the irritation that he hadn't yet achieved the greatness or recognition of these legendary figures. Certainly, the idea that he could measure up to these accomplished wizards at his age and inexperience was nothing more than a whimsical notion. Yet, the impatient child did not see it like that.

Just like the fable of the fox and the sour grapes, Theo's envy soon turned to disdain. Vocalising his frustration, he muttered aloud, his discontent boiling over. "Wizard sports, what a joke. Nothing more than a pointless circus." He continued, unaware that there might be someone else in the room with him. "Those pointy hat losers made up a silly game just to make themselves feel good and give each other awards." He said with a hint of spite, mentally distancing himself from his own wizard identity.

In his hubris, he inadvertently walked straight into a plinth. The shield trophy atop wobbled and toppled, its intricate carving splintering upon hitting the ground, shattering. Theo momentarily froze, his composure returning swiftly. His expression shifted from shock to indifference in an instant. Glancing down at the shield, its metal surface etched with a small memorial for a wizard who had perished in the Tri-Wizard tournament. “They're even handing out trophies to the ones who can't win. Ridiculous.” He uttered, an exceptionally disrespectful remark, driven by his own insecurities.

He cast a final glance at the shattered wooden shield, shrugged, and turned to depart. In that moment, his eyes met with a figure who had been silently observing him. He was aware that his words had crossed a line. The intention was never for anyone to hear him. Yet, as regret set in, it became clear that backtracking wasn’t an option. Theo came to an abrupt stop, locking eyes with the figure and delivering an intense stare. He waited to see if they would say something, or just continue on with their own business in peace.

It was one of those days, Violet dearly missed her parents. When her parents were back from work, all the three of them would sit around the dining table discussing about their day while the food was served. Violet didn't really had a lot to say during the dinners back then, but she loved hearing her parents going back in time and narrating their Hogwarts' story. It always fascinated her. She had heard all about their proud achievements in Hogwarts. Her dad used to play Quidditch for the Slytherin team back in his day, even becoming the captain of the team in his 6th year while her mother was a Gryffindor duelist.
Her mother was a 'perfect' prefect, her dad would say and her mother would reply back that her dad was just sour about the fact that he got that one detention that day for sneaking out in his otherwise neat 'career'.

And so to relive their stories, she enjoyed so much, she decided to give a visit to the trophy room. The gleaming wrist watch on her hand gifted by her mother told her that it was still 6:30 pm so she would have enough time to return to the common room without getting a detention.

She got up from the couch she was sitting on the common room, going back to her dorm to comb her hair.

Once done, she quickly exited first the dorm and then the common room, feeling quite excited, climbing up the stairs to the third floor.

As she entered the trophy room, her mouth hung open with the number of shields and trophies that were kept there. Some gleaming like they were recently added to the collection, some of the older ones covered in mild layer of dust.

The room was not really well lit up. It was a bit dark but one could make out all the names and titles written on the shields.

Violet walked back into the room, silently searching for her parents' shields.
She was surprised that Hogwarts had kept all of these, without discarding either one from years.

She had just found her father's shield gleaming in pride, when she heard footsteps in the room. Violet looked over to find a boy as young as her, ashen haired.

Violet being herself, of course ignored his presence in the room until he started muttering to himself, obviously not realising the girl's presence in the room.

And what he said next, managed to infuriate Violet to the depths.
Wizard sports- a joke!? Seriously!? Pointy hat losers, really?, She thought to herself. She had not spoken up yet, slowly walking forward to maybe try and scare the boy.
He must be a muggleborn and never have I ever seen a muggleborn as disrespectful as him. How dare he!? What does he even think of himself!?, she thought as her anger kept surging.

She widened her eyes as she saw the guy bumping and a wooden shield falling to the ground, being too far away to actually keep it from falling, it ended up breaking into pieces.
The boy made no attempt to save it.

Her anger surged furthermore as she heard what the guy said furthermore. She glared at him, and as if on cue he decided to notice her presence, looking up staring back at her.

Not able to control herself back anymore, she spoke up,
"You scumbag, who do you think you are ,disrespecting the very essence of the floor of the place you are standing on. How dare you!? Oh wait, till I call a prefect on you, mudblood. Muggles like you don't deserve to be studying in this haven like school.
As soon as she said that, Violet regretted it. She was surprised even on how her anger got out of control. Mudblood was not something that she should have said. It was so unexpected of her.Despite being from a pureblood family, she was sure her family wouldn't approve of the usage of word. What about her own muggleborn friends, they probably would never know the meaning but it was disrespectful. The only relief was that the boy infront of her didn't seem to know the meaning of mudblood either. She didn't want to get a detention for this, afterall she wasn't really in the wrong, she was just defending her own heritage she was very proud of.

It was true that Theodore hadn't the faintest idea about the term 'mudblood.' Given some time, he might have deduced it was some form of racial slur, but in the moment, all he could muster was a quizzical "Mud-What?” His expression swiftly shifted from the embarrassment of being caught to the anger of feeling insulted. Pointing at Violet with his index finger, he furrowed his brow in a gesture of displeasure. He appeared enraged. "You're absolutely right. I don't deserve to be sent to some joke magician school," he seethed. The implication was clear – he considered this a severe downgrade from his Muggle life, feeling as if his existence had been unjustly snatched away from him.

Theo produced his wand, brandishing it haphazardly in the air. "Smell so foul, your home's a bog. Turn this girl into a disgusting frog," he chanted mockingly, knowing it wasn't a genuine spell. He snickered, using humour as a way to cope with his underlying anger, and the amount of trouble he was about to land himself in. "Run along to your prefect. Looks like snitches aren't exclusive to sports equipment, afterall.” Theo stood his ground, determined not to budge or depart before she did; he wasn't about to appear weak.

As soon as Theo said that he did not deserve to be sent to some joke magician school, Violet cooed softly but mockingly, "Oh yes dear, you totally don't deserve to be sent to a joke magician school.
She continued mocking, her pitch slightly higher now, a smirk making a way to her face, "Then why ,my dear, you haven't left the school yet? Seriously, why did you even accept the letter? Believe me, you always had a choice. It's no fun entertaining people like you in this school. I genuinely hope you get expelled. You really don't deserve it, ungrateful brat."

Theo tried mocking her by making up a useless spell, brandishing his wand at her. To which she could easily reply sassily, having inherited that quality from her mother."Oh no", she tutted, "You don't even know a real spell", she tutted again, Using a made up spell to threaten me? It's funny, alright! do it again please, she chuckled.
She tilted her head, a wide sarcastic grin forming on her face, challenging the boy infront of her to say more.

"Oh I love being the snitch, at least someone seeks me and don't worry, I'll make sure to let a prefect know about this ordeal. I would be more than glad to help you get out, no wait, get expelled from this school.", Violet said blinking at the boy as if she's innocent.

"No one gave me the ‘choice’ of being born this way."

Theo appeared relatively unfazed by the mockery. While the prospect of getting into trouble concerned him, grovelling was of no use at this point. He decided to stand his ground and stick to his guns. He walked right up to her, perhaps as a show of intimidation, but at the end of the day he was still just a 12 year old boy throwing a tantrum.

"Oh, so you claim to know real magic, do you? Prove it. Cast the Mending Charm on the shield," Theo challenged, gesturing to the broken shield with his wand.

He briefly wore a smirk before his expression reverted to a mix of seriousness and frustration. It was challenging to discern the boy's true emotions from the outside, but he was evidently making an effort to conceal his genuine feelings.

"I bet you can't. You don't strike me as the academic type. I can see it in your eyes, or rather, the lack of anything behind them. Do you need help remembering the incantation, or do you need everything spoon-fed to you?" he said, turning his mockery up a notch. He fell silent, patiently waiting for the girl to produce her wand.

Violet hated how the guy acted so unfazed, her mockery was not working on him instead getting more challenging. Violet wasn't necessarily intimidated as he walked up to her, just being an inch or so taller, but she did tip-toe a bit to exactly match his height.

As the boy in front of her encouraged her to use the mending charm, Violet raised her eyebrows. She glared at him, reaching for her wand in her pocket deciding if it would be a foolish decision to accept the challenge or not.

Violet could feel anger pulsating through her body and her wand hand shaking as the guy insulted her, basically calling her dumb.

Yet she spoke calmly, but brandishing her wand infront of the boy at the same time, "Well, I can do that. But shouldn't you do the honours of mending the shield, since you so disrespectfully broke it?"

Violet knew that the charms could be traced, and she was sure if someone caught them and Violet used the mending charm, he would blame everything on her and she would have no proof.
'In no way,', Violet thought to herself,'I'm going to accept this git's challenge. He is just trying to put me in trouble. I don't trust him at all, what if he used another charm at the same time causing my spell to backfire.'

Theodore visibly deflated a little in response to Violet’s question. His shoulders slumped slightly as he clearly displayed an air of disappointment. The boy did not know the mending charm himself and was indeed making an attempt to manipulate her into hiding the evidence for him.

Theo instead, settled on a new tactic. First, obfuscating the blame. “I knocked the shield off its plinth because you startled me, it was a mere accident.” He said in an extremely brazen lie and fictional reimagining of what really transpired. The purpose of his statement, which both of them knew was untrue, may have been a subtle threat to show Violet how a conversation with a prefect might go if she reported him.

The strategy to get out of trouble then evolved into a clearly fake u-turn of his demeanour towards the young witch. “Look, perhaps we got off on the wrong foot.” He put his wand away within his robes as a gesture of peace and smiled insincerely. “My name is Theo.” It looked as though he was about to ask who she was, but stopped himself and went off into a sudden tangent. “Why don’t we let bygones be bygones and you repair this mess before we both get into trouble. I'll forget all about those words you called me.” The boy placed both of his hands together as if praying, though the gesture was purely subconscious and Theo had no idea he was doing it.

A look of worry crept upon his face as he waited for an answer.

"Don't try to put the blame on me for something you did, you understand? We can ask a prefect if you are so unsure.", Violet replied in a firm tone when the guy tried to blame her for startling him. She was sure that she was not at fault for the shield breaking but at the same time she was worried if he told someone that she called him a mudblood.
'Calm down, Vi. He's a muggleborn and rather an ignorant one. He must not know the meaning of mudblood, he can't tell anyone.', Violet thought to herself affirming that she would not be the one in trouble at all.

As she was lost in her thoughts, the guy infront of her spoke again and what he said visibly surprised her. The boy infront of her, had suddenly changed his demeanor, a complete 180 degree turn, and this made Violet suspicious. She voiced out her thoughts while also trying to cover up her previous actions,"You are suspicious, Theo. Anyways, I'm Violet. And what did I say wrong? Besides why should I repair the mess you created? Can't you do it yourself?"

Although, Violet was still pressing the fact that Theo should do the repair, Violet was all ready to repair the mess herself but she wanted Theo to accept defeat, for somehow the whole thing about the trophy and the spell had turned into a competition in her mind, when Theo had decided to degrade Violet's skills.

Theo’s face twitched in frustration for a moment as he let out a long sigh. Her refusal to help fix the trophy confounded him and the prospect of being at her mercy was not a welcome one. He opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out. The boy couldn’t bring himself to admit that he didn’t know any magic. Violet had even called him out for it earlier saying he didn’t know ‘a real spell’, well it was true. He shuffled in place for a moment awkwardly.

He was quick however, to outline what he suspected she had done wrong. “There’s an overemphasis on inclusivity at this school.” He stopped mid-thought and mulled it over, coming to a conclusion as the cogs turned in his head. “I’ll tell professor Lécuyer, you told me that muggle-borns shouldn’t be allowed at Hogwarts.” He snickered for a moment, feeling like he finally had some leverage again. “Bet that’ll go down well.” Theo himself had no strong opinions about who should be allowed to study at hogwarts. However, if it could get him out of trouble he would take up any cause as his own.

He then suddenly turned on his heel. It looked as though he was about to storm off out of the Trophy room. “Fix it or don’t, I’m not sticking around for someone to find us.”

Coming upon @Theo Vendeberg and @Violet Rohr

Simon had spent the last four hours in the Hospital Wing working on his internship. During the first year of his internship, he only got to do some of the basics - which allowed him to perfect his bandaging skills and expand some of his basic first aid skills that he was introduced to back in the British Boy Scouts. Now that he had a year's experience and another year of spells and potions added to his knowledge, he was allowed to make and give some of the basic potions and remedies - under the direction of the Hogwarts' School Nurse, of course.

He left the Hospital Wing, beginning down the Third Floor Corridor and had just popped a lemon drop into his mouth when he heard the words 'Fix it or don't, I'm not sticking around for someone to find us.' Well, that wasn't words that the Hufflepuff Prefect could just ignore because if anyone found out that he had done so, it would most likely be his badge. Besides, perhaps some students needed some assistance fixing whatever it was that needed fix.

If they weren't at Hogwarts with it's stone walls, Simon would have entered with a rapping on the doorframe or wall with a 'knock, knock' but that would only have hurt his hand, strong dhampir or not, and it would have made little to no sound and been useless. Instead, he came to the doorway of the Trophy Room to survey the scene and was glad to see that everything seemed, more or less, in place. It wasn't like someone had used a wind spell to knock every last trophy to the ground. This wasn't a room that Simon was in very often; he had checked it out his first year out of curiosity and gave it a good scan but had only been in there a few times since. Still he knew it quite well from a quick glance as he went to and from the Hospital Wing and he was happy to see it mostly the same as he knew it; with the exception of a broken trophy, a Hufflepuff, and a Gryffindor inside.

"Forty, forty, I see you!" Simon said as he entered, unintentionally blocking the exit. It was, at least in his group of friends growing up in London, the way that one would say 'I caught you' when playing hide-and-seek. It was a game he hadn't played in a very long time but wouldn't Hogwarts be an amazing place to play such a game? Maybe he'd have to host an event someday making some big elaborate hide-and-seek game.

Be kind to one another. (*iNPC is Miles Thatcher)
