Winter, Warmth and Grandparents Solo Reopened 28.12.2024

𝓓𝓪𝓽𝓮: Week of 24/12/23. Ends at the night of Christmas Eve.

It was Christmas Eve. The day we had all been waiting for. The day when "Santa" would come and give us presents but most importantly, the day where we would spend time with each other. We started out the day by eating a yummy breakfast of waffles topped with tons of fruits and some powder that looked like snow. Outside it was snowing and beautiful. We made some hot chocolate for snack and then went outside to the backyard far away from the house into the little forest we had. It was the most peaceful and quiet place there could be in our property. We then began our annual snowball fight. This was not an ordinary snowball fight as there was some magic involved. I hit my grandparents in the head a little too many times and I hoped their heads are okay. It was cold so then we went inside and drank our hot chocolate that we made. We then proceeded to putting our gifts under the tree and then we sat down and played a memory game. This included some cheating by my grandma which we would always laugh about. It was a light and fun day. We then ate a yummy lunch and then began our tradition of baking.

We baked through the entire afternoon. We baked Christmas Cupcakes, cookies, cakes and all kinds of sweets that you could imagine. We decorated them to make them Christmas themed and we put them in nice boxes. We sent some of them out to the neighbors, friends and family. And then I decided I should send a box to Linda, my bestie as well with a Christmas note. I decided I would do that tomorrow as another small Christmas present. Then we sat down exhausted and played some games until the evening approached. Then we had a nice Christmas Eve feast. There was steak, potatoes, green beans, fries, and of course the desserts we had made. It was delicious. That night we left some of our cookies and some milk for "Santa" and all of us went to bed early ready for tomorrow. I could not have been more excited.

𝓓𝓪𝓽𝓮: 25/12/23. Morning

It was Christmas Day!!! I couldn't have been more excited. Although it was only seven in the morning I bounded down the stairs and raced to the tree. "Santa" 's presents were here!!! I felt like a little child again as I raced up the stairs in glee to wake up the rest of the house. Everyone though had the same idea and was up as soon as I entered the room. We quickly scarfed down a breakfast and got ready as fast as we could. I was grinning with joy the whole time. Finally we were ready to open the presents. We decided to go one by one. I went first because I was the youngest. I tore open the first box from Santa, I gasped as I opened it. It was a broom compass!!! Yes! I had been wanting one for so long! My mom got me some new clothes, my grandma got me some jewelry, my dad got me a handbook for some quidditch and broom racing moves and my grandpa got me a box of candy that would surely last the whole year. From others, I got books and more clothes and a few toys as well. I was smiling the whole time because I loved the presents so much.

Now it was time for the others to open their presents. I was excited for them to open the ones that I gave because I had a theme and had worked hard to create and buy the presents. First, it was my mom's turn to open the presents, she got a lot of things but she opened mine last. I grinned as she opened it hoping that she would like. She did, she also really loved the fact that it had a theme. Soon everyone would realize that the theme was matching. I also knew that a hand mirror for her purse was good for her because she always liked to look at her reflection before work. Next up was my dad, for him I got a tie that said how proud I was of him. He opened mine first and loved it. I had also matched the style with his work clothes so that he could wear it. He also got a lot more clothes and some treats as well which he was smiling about. After that, was my grandma, I really hoped she liked it. She opened my mom's and dads first and then mine. She gave me a small smile and a hug when she opened the box which contained the cooking utensils and apron saying she was the best grandma cook ever. I took that as a sign she liked it. And then lastly, my grandpa. My favorite gift. This was also the most expensive. I knew he had been eyeing a specific watch for years and so I got it for him. He opened mine last as well and tears welled in his eyes when he saw it. I grinned. And he hugged me. By far this was the best seeing how happy he was. Even better than getting my own gifts.

𝓓𝓪𝓽𝓮: 25/12/23. Afternoon/Evening

I was extremely happy from this morning with all the gifts that we had given and got. Now it was time to give the presents and gifts to friends. While my parents worked to send them to other relatives, I made some little bags for my friends. With some Christmas cookies from yesterday, I made a card for my bestie Linda. Additionally, I added a little photo from our August adventure that was decorated in a frame. I made sure that it was secured tightly to the owl and I sent the owl off. I smiled hoping Linda would like it. I made a few more for other people but Linda’s was the most special. After I finished that, I went downstairs to rest and play UNO with my grandparents. This was the only muggle game they liked to play and I enjoyed it as well. We could play it for hours together although my grandma would always get annoyed when she lost. But it was fun.

Eventually, my parents came down and we ate some of the leftovers from yesterday. Then we began the long process of cleaning up. We saved this for last because it was tiring and we would go right to sleep after this. The clean up was kind of fun because we had fights with wrapping paper and we strung lights around each other. We kept the Christmas tree up because it was pretty and we wanted to see it for a little longer. We would take it down after new years. New years. That was the next holiday. We would go shopping for that soon. When we finished we went to sleep for the night ready for the next day. After all, you had to enjoy your break while it lasted.

𝓓𝓪𝓽𝓮: Week after Christmas Ends right before New Year’s Eve.

After Christmas passed by, the rest of the week was pretty slow. We went shopping for New Year’s Eve and we got some cute clothes. There was plenty of free time where I just read, played games and relaxed. I practiced a lot of flying on my Nimbus 1700. I wanted a Silver Arrow badly, but I didn’t have enough money sadly. I would save up enough soon. Hopefully. It would sincerely improve my flying. I sighed. But I could get better on this broom I just needed to work hard. I would have another race sometime in February or January. So I really needed to practice.

By the time New Year’s Eve came around we were getting to decorating the house and everything was ready. I had practiced tons. We had outfits. We had put out our decorations that we would put up. I was excited because this year we were going to London to watch the fireworks. After which we would make our own and then wake up at like 12 in the afternoon. It was an amazing tradition we had. I loved it. And I was ready for the New Year as well. I would be a different person. More social. Cool. Not just studying and racing. Socializing too. Friends, fun, trouble. I could sense that this new year was going to be the start of something new. Good hopefully.
