Thoughts: italicsKaitlyn giggled at Annette’s words. She nodded in agreement. “Oh I love all muffins, not just blueberry. I don’t make them too much, though,” she admitted with a shrug. “They remind you of blue cheese?” She asked, giggling the whole time. “I don’t really see it. I’m glad they taste nothing like blue cheese. I personally find blue cheese tasty, though. A little strong for me to have all the time, though,” she commented with a smile. She never heard of the comparison between blueberries and blue cheese. Then again, Annette was creative, she could clearly tell that.
Kaitlyn turned her eyes back to her potion. How long were they talking again? It seemed like a while. She checked the time. Definitely a while. “Mine’s done,” she told Annette. “Yours should be done soon,” she pointed out with a smile. “But, we need four horned slugs,” she continued. She took four of the horned slugs from their supply and moved them to her section. She then moved the remaining four slugs over to Annette. Despite being a girl who tried to maintain a fantastic appearance, she had no issue touching the slugs with her hands, not particularly caring about their sliminess.
Then, Kaitlyn added the four horned slugs to her potion.Reducio

The pair of Annette's eyes were leveled straight at her while she giggles, quietly peering at her with an uncertainty feeling in her chest that was difficult to describe. Perhaps it was the results of her not expecting Kaitlyn to chose responding like that instead of looking her up and down like someone who was forced to be in the same room with an awkward child like her.
With the fact that Annette's alleged negative scenario was revealed to be false, she can't help began to ponder more of Kaitlyn's character.
...I never tried blue cheese before..
Her half-dreamy gaze was ended at once by a sticky, writhing texture in contact with the skin of her palms. It couldn't be helped anymore that her shoulder jerked up in place as soon as Annette saw her grips.
"Hieee!— W-what are these stuff?!!..
Awh, they're still alive!.."
Annette recoiled as she felt one of the slugs almost slip through her fingers. Even though her whole behavior expressed a transparent fright ( for God's sake, her arms were shaking ) she clenched her fists around them tighter. And after giving a few glimpses to her partner who was facing to her cauldron at the moment, she immediately tossed all four of them into her owns, producing a quite heavy splashing noise.
Without further ado, Horned Slugs are joined to be one of the things she least enjoys holding with. She hated that it makes her remember the feels similar to a raw chicken meat. On the other hand Annette's question regarding their use to kept alive is rosing. She thought it was 'awfully necessary' , probably revelant but not pleasant. Especially when they stored together into a small clear jar like a fresh fish bait instead of giving out their last hours of living in peace.
This just made her feel even more afraid of the need of cooking such things or simply wanting seafoods when Annette's adult self was required to do so. She hoped they'll still can afford hiring a maid when she's happen to be already in marriage.
I should have brought some pairs of gloves too...
Her hands which were continuously wiped with the fabric of her apron were accompanied by a grimaced face, and she shuddered in disgust.

Thoughts: italicsKaitlyn delicately dropped her slugs into her potion. Picking them up by the shell in her slender hands, and dropped them into the boiling water. One by one. By the time she dropped her last slug in, she heard the unmistakenable heavy splashing noise comining from Annette. Whipping around, she noticed the slugs she gave Annette were gone. Likely thrown into her potion. Kaitlyn could not help but to snort from seeing it.
After calming down from her laugh, Kaitlyn took a nearby towel and calmly wiped her hands from the slug slime - oh she wished she could keep it. She handed the towl to Annette with a sympathetic gaze. “Sorry … I should have offered to drop them in for you,” she apologized, bowing her head slightly to Annette, a light flush bloomed on her cheeks.
“I forget sometimes. I don’t mind touching ingredients like those. Whenever we work together, if I forget again, feel free to remind me to do it for you. I honestly don’t mind helping with these things. I feel bad for not warning you. Please forgive me Miss. Annette,” she apologized, again. She felt like a bad friend, and even worse that she found it entertaining. Annette was clearly disgusted.Reducio

Her body like appears to be inflamed by a wave cold air. She was shaken up to see Kaitlyn's head turning left and right, like she's seeking out for what happened a second ago and eventually knowing what her reflex caused action was.
Annette glanced away when she heard her small laugh. Like a child who was caught red-handed in this moment, she gave up on comprehending a word as she drowns into a depth sea of shame. Then again, at least her struggles were humorous to her partner. So she doesn't really need much to overthink about it.
But hearing Kaitlyn made an apology right then and there, not really aware how many times they had threw so to each other, Annette's heart was moved to shake her head in disagreement.
"I beg to differ, it's not something you need to worry about anyway-...So don't concern yourself. I have to be more familiar with the...nature kinds..."
Her wrists which were resting between her chest lowered down the air to gently receive the towel that was given. Her head drenched in cold sweats. She also didn't forget to mutter a thank before using it on her own hands.
Do not be too long with it, Annette!
"Ah! Miss Kaitlyn-"
Annette, who was initially cleaning between her nails paused. With warning feeling anxious about things as usual.
"..I- I was wondering, is this happened to be yours? It's too bad, the cloth got soiled from my slime. Sorry..I can w-wash it up with the running tap water nearby...If it's not a trouble..."

Thoughts: italicsKaitlyn frowned slightly at Annette’s statement. She was well aware of how having a lack of self-confidence sounded. While she was routinely a victim of her lack of confidence, she felt bad when she saw others exhibiting it. Especially her friends, like Annette. She felt sad that her lack of manners caused this. ‘Ugh, I am such a bad friend to her,’ she thought. She smiled symathetically to Annette. “Annette, we’re friends. I’m going to worry about you either way, if I have permission to or not. Besides, not too many people like touching slugs, anyway. I’ll remember to offer to do it next time,” she attempted to make Annette feel better.
While Annette was cleaning the slime off her body, Kaitlyn turned away, respectfully. ‘Annette doesn’t need me watching over her like she was a piece of entertainment. I just hope she isn’t mad at me … or wishes that I stop talking to her. I feel we’re alike in so many ways, including in our awkwardness. Even though it feels weird, I like being awkward with Annette. I feel less self-concious,’ she thought, as her blue eyes looked down at her cauldron.
Hearing Annette’s words, Kaitlyn looked back over at the Ravenclaw. She nodded. “It is. Don’t worry about it! It has my slime on it, too. You don’t have to be sorry. I did offer it to you to use. I can wash it later, don’t worry, I won’t make you do it,” she smiled to Annette. ‘With the way Annette acts, I have to wonder … has anyone been mean to her in the past?’Reducio

"Ahh— Then, alright!"
The girl had no desire to dodge, she immediately gave up trying to be a pure-hearted child and obeyed her words. With only a few seconds spent finding a place that was at least the size of a cup, free from lying items, Annette placed Kaitlyn's towel which she had folded neatly on the table.
For several tries she also took times to glance at it. Remembering the possibility that another student could take it at any chance. She doesn't like the idea of interacting with more people.
Annette rested on that case for a moment and returned to their potion business.
Now what do we do? Hmm..
..Hm?..
..Now what do we need to do?-...
Those sentences, which was simply just a conversation with her own, became a question itself.
"Wait, where is that thing—"
Annette started casting her eyes warily around, by fair means more concisely than usual. Her hands also reached into her apron pockets, then her shoulder bag, and then every items on the table.
She lost something. Her potions book vanished, which not too long ago was still clutched in her grip. That book was like a bible to her.
Time felt so slow at that moment. She's anxious. Is it running away from its own?! Does it hate me that much??!
Argh forget about it! If I was destined to be like this, then so be it!
Honestly, she didn't really accept it. But for the sake of the dignity of herself and her family she worked of how good her dusty memory was, and took a pair of ingredients that were still left there.
I know that we will be using the Porcupine Quills after this. But how do I do it..
"Add them on...first?"
Not a big surprise she didn't have any memories. however, Annette had heard a sentence that involved with 'putting the quills before they took the cauldron off the fire' although she forgot where she got it from. But what's the problem in trying?
With that being concluded, she started to approach her cauldron. A second away from letting the Quills go above it.

Thoughts: italicsAs Annette put her soiled towel on the table, Kaitlyn gave her a sad smile. She felt like a very bad friend. ‘I really should make it up to her … Annette is so nice to me. And, well, I’m just a mess,’ she thought, as she glanced at her potion. Her blue eyes shifted to the soiled towel. She had a secondary reason why she didn’t want Annette cleaning the cloth. Just like with the Flobberworm Mucus, she found the slug slime very interesting. She hoped to play around with it … when she was alone.
While she continued to have weird thoughts, Kaitlyn had not been paying attention to Annette’s Potions textbook issue. She let out a soft sigh and glanced at her Potions textbook. They were supposed to take the potion off the fire, then add the two porcupine quills. As she was about to take her cauldron off the fire, she heard Annette speak, and saw her friend tolding two porcupine quills, about to add it to her cauldron.
“Wait! Annette, not yet,” Kaitlyn called out. Swiftly, she immediately moved towards Annette and extended one of her slender hands towards Annette’s potion, and tried to stop her friend from making a mistake. ‘Lesson Learned, Kaitlyn. No matter how friendly you are to your partners in class, make sure to still watch what they’re doing,’ she thought.Reducio

In a flash, Annette's heart skipped a bunch from an arm that suddenly peeked in between her and the cauldron. Followed by none other than Kaitlyn's voice being raised up, something which the girl didn't expect in the slightest bit on her partner. Without a doubt, she was startled. Her head spinned to face her, showing her shook up expression, and she didn't have the courage to even move an inch.
Kaitlyn's attempt gone to a success.
Even though Annette's stance was still similar from the moment before. With her right hand raised slightly, holding those same, pair of Porcupine Quills.
"Ehhh? Am I wrong??...Oh, I didn't know-...."
Her words sinked down. Well I'll be cursed, turns out my assumption was totally wrong. But how? Only these materials are left. I don't understand. Her eyes explored around them.
Why do I trust that sketchy memory anyway?
"Uhm..."
It's clear that I won't even get any benefits from myself...
Suddenly.
An idea that is rather crazy just possess through her mind.
"Aaa, Miss Kaitlyn.
It's not what you think it is— Of course we don't need to add the quills yet. I wasn't planning on doing so in the first place, so don't worry! Hahagh..Take a look."
Her other hand stretched out, and Annette's body decided to lean forward. She hovers above her billowing cauldron as her very last consciously reaches for her potions book lying behind it.
So it was there the whole time..
"Actually! I intended to fan my potion with this book, so that the smoke would flow freely in any directions other than upwards! It would be a shame if the roof of this room damaged because of the hefty amount of them..."
Annette, who had been holding up her book, swung it near her cauldron like a handfan. Demonstrating it all in front of Kaitlyn on purpose. Doesn't know where the skills came from, she didn't stutter as badly as when she gave an geniune statement in the particular situations. Things work out so strange sometimes..
"Ehehehe~"
Annette just confidently discussed and defended the class they were in, which was located in the dungeon, all with a tone like she's trying her best to comfort her partner. If that's not enough, her lips presented a grin as wide as she had never practiced before that it faintly twitches during so.

Thoughts: italicsKaitlyn let out a sigh of relief as she was able to stop Annette in time. She wasn’t smart enough to know what would have happened to their potion. Likely, it wouldn’t be correct. And may even cause boils. The horror! And on her perfect skin. Nope, nope, nope! She was curious as to why Annette thought it was the time to add the quills. ‘I’ve been trying to steer our potion-making for the most part. Did I say it was time yet…? I guess it doesn’t really matter in the end. I still don’t want to scare off Annette. This doesn’t change the fact that I think she’s a good partner,’ she thought.
As Annette attempted to excuse her actions, Kaitlyn actively listened. She simply nodded her head and smiled as the Ravenclaw spoke, hiding her true emotions over the course of the girl’s excuses. ‘Honestly, I can’t even blame her for trying this hard. I once had to do that when I messed up baking a set of muffins by hand back when I was first learning. It’s hard to admit you’re wrong. And me being upset here … or questioning her will likely backfire. I need an understanding approach,’ she thought.
Once Annette was finished talking, Kaitlyn waited exactly two beats before saying anything. Her blue eyes sparkled before she finally answered. “You know, Annette, I’m not here to judge or make you feel bad. Everyone makes mistakes, it’s fine. I’m not mad or disappointed in you. Although, I must say, your ability to come up with a good, defendable reason is pretty good. In the muggle world, we call that improvisation. I always liked to see those performers,” she smiled brightly to Annette to show that she wasn’t mad.Reducio

Annette should have expected that she would react that way. She doesn't know why but she was far off from feeling relieved after she was well received and 'praised' for this. Her smile resulted into its disappearance, and she felt the need to occassionally glancing away from Kaitlyn like the time she first met her. It was as if she hoped that her partner would not find out about her attempt regardless herself aware that what she said was difficult to take serious.
Maybe she didn't like that she noticed her lies, maybe she felt guilty for toying with her in the first place. Whatever the reason, it is all valid for Annette to behave the way she does right now.
Her head even sunked down, embarrassed to face Kaitlyn. But she tried her best to open her lips which were glued with indecision.
"..I'm sorry, I don't know what I was thinking.."
Not just that as a cherry on top, her voice was as hushed as a pet rabbit.
Really in that moment, she thought to herself badly, at the point of where she have no rights to become Kaitlyn's friend. How could anyone accept someone who tried to lie at them on their interactions? For sure it kind of ruins their first impressions on her. She can tell from her partner's gazes. Maybe this is not her time yet.
This would be one of those events that Annette would want to erase from memory if she ever came across a genie lamp on the street. Or maybe paying Kaitlyn for lunch would be already enough of a ransom.
Of course that would be impossible to put into practice because unfortunately they were just students, and Annette herself had no services in the school's kitchen. Do they accept requests?
Without making any sounds, Annette didn't want to make the atmosphere even more awkward so she just continued doing her work. Right now they needed to stop heating their potion, and she hurriesly did so.
"It looks like the potions are safe to mix. Let's go along, Miss Kaitlyn."
Annette turned off the stove. She also did the same on Kaitlyn's by secret. Wanting to show that she really feels bad for her efforts through a 'verbal' action.
After that, she finally dropped the pair of porcupine quills she brought into her cauldron. Finishing what she's been wanting to do.
