Percephone had decided to finally explore the castle. After all, she did live and study in a magnificent castle, more than a thousand years old, and she was adamant on learning as much as possible about it during the seven years she had to spend there.

She had left the few friends she had made in the Slytherin Common Room, deciding to explore the place alone. She didn't want anyone to slow her down.

There was one room in particular she wanted to see by herself ; the Library. Persephone loved books. Absolutely adored them. In fact, her mother had thought for a while that she would go to Ravenclaw - before being certain that she would go to Slytherin. When Persephone had asked her why she had changed her mind, her mother had just had this look on her face telling her : 'Well just look at you and ask the question again.

When she entered the Library, she tried her best not to appear in awe of her surroundings. Even though her face didn't show anything in particular, her eyes darted all around, as if trying to look everywhere at once. She glanced at the Transfiguration section, then the Charms, and then the Potions. Ooooh. Potions. That she could be interested in. She went into this area in particular and started to browse through the books. The shelves climbed quite high, and she couldn't even reach the two top ones.

She tried to reach for the book she was interested in but couldn't even touch it. Huffing, she tried to use her wand, but of course she hadn't gone through Wingardium Leviosa yet, so it was useless.

Bugger.

She glanced around, hoping someone would help.

Veronica knew exactly where she needed to be, the library. She had some studying to do, so she left her common room, along with her one friend that she made in her house. Knowing full well that her charms class began in a few hours, she ran towards the library hoping to find what she needs before class. I hope the library has what I need.

Roni’s mind raced as she burst into the library breathing hard. A harsh whisper yelled at her to be quiet. Veronica gave the Librarian a sheepish look and a quick ‘sorry’ before walking towards the charms section. Lets see what they have to offer. Marchung past the potion section she caught a glimpse of what looked like a first year with blond or light brown hair. She stopped abruptly noticing how the first year couldn’t quite reach the book.

Roni shook her head and sighed before walking towards the girl. “Need a hand?” She was standing next to the girl now. Roni got a good look at the girl’s robes. Her face went blank but her eyes showed something completely different, worry, questions, and maybe happiness? It was hard to tell. “Here!” Roni reaches up and just barely got ahold of the binding belonging to the book that the young Slytherin was reaching for. A fake smile appeared as Roni handed the girl the book. “There you go miss. Interesting choice in reading. But enjoy.” After the girl took the book, the youn Gryffindor walked out of the potion section and headed for the charm section.

Now, where is that darn book?” Veronica spoke to herself as she scanned the multitude of shelves adorned with many books about charms. Her eyes darted from cover to cover, many of which were a dark chestnut color. “Ah-ha!” finding the book she was looking for, Roni grabbed ahold of its dark rosemary binding. History of charms, just what I needed. Turning around She nearly ran back into the Slytherin from before. Out of shock Roni yelled, earning another harsh whisper from the librarian. “You scared me! What can I do for you?” Veronica gave the first year a quizzical look, curious as to why the Slytherin snuck up behind her.

Euphrasia was short. Or, to say the least, under average. But Euphrasia was under average in everything. Weight, height, friends, school, you name it she was most likely under average.

But she of course knew how to play instruments very well, and she knew how to find books in the unbelievably large library. That being said, she didn't know necessarily what she wanted to find in the library, as it contained so many books.

Euphrasia had stepped inside the library, vaguely remember things that had happened what seemed to be seconds prior. But the girl had trouble remembering what she had come inside the library for. Obviously a book, but what kind? what genre? for school? It was hard to tell, Euphrasia's mind raced too quickly for her to remember.

So, she decided to go in head first into the gigantic library.

Euphrasia's violet eyes darted from book to book. She let her eyes scan the covers and titles of the books, trying to think about what she needed. But everything cover and tittle seemed too unimportant to her. It seemed like everything Euphrasia looked at, was insignificant.

A groan of defeat escaped the girls mouth, and she looked around uselessly. At this point, Euphrasia was so deep into the library she didn't where she exactly was.

Her violet eyes grew wide in worry and confusion. What if she didn't get out of the library before curfew? What if she was lost forever and could never get home? What if a magic beast came up and ate her?

But when Euphrasia saw two girls who looked to be in her year, her body relaxed. She would just have to stick around with the two girls.

So, in Gryffindor fashion, Euphrasia walked right up to the two.

"Hi, my name is Euphrasia and you two seem like really cool people, wanna be friends?" Her American accent leaked out into her utter annoyingness. Woops.

Persephone smiled when someone came over to help. Gryffindor. Huh. Figures they would help, they just had this thing about helping people even though they didn't know them.

Although she was a Slytherin. Weird. If Persephone had noticed something during her first few days at school, it was that those two houses did not get along, or so it seemed.

But there was something in the girl's eyes she couldn't quite fake. Oh, yes, it was kinda what she looked like in the mirror when she practised her 'kind eyes'. Weird.

"Thank you," Persephone said politely. "I haven't quite learned how to use Wingardium Leviosa yet. And yes, it does seem interesting."

Yikes. Small talk was not her best asset. She smiled brightly and took the book with her, looking for a table to read it on. The library had plenty of tables, but she wanted something isolated, where she wouldn't be seen too much in case older students came into the room and wanted someone to pick on.

She hovered for a bit near the windows when something -- or rather, someone bumped into her, rather harshly.

"Ouch !" she hissed, stumbling into the table behind her. She raised an eyebrow when she heard what the other girl was saying.

"I scared you ? You're the one that bumped into me like a hippogriff," she snapped, her irritation flashing for a moment before she caught herself and smiled. "It's alright, though, didn't even hurt."

She was about to leave when she was interrupted by a rather straightforward Gryffindor.

"Why hello, Euphrasia," she said smoothly, showing none of her surprise. "I'm Persephone. Nice to meet you. American, aren't you ? Where are you from ?" she tried to mimic the giggles of some of the girls in her year. "Sure let's be friends !"

Certainly no silly sorting hat is going to tell me what I am. Sarabeena said to herself as she passed through the rows and rows of books, looking throughout the columns and rows for something that may interest her.

Ha! Hufflepuff, I'll show you, you, you - piece of dirty laundry! "Oh!" She said audibly as she saw the other girls in the row she had passed. Curious as she was she approached them with her normal smiling face and watched them a moment from behind one of the shelves. Well this was curious! They seemed to be introducing themselves, and clearly not having made any friends yet, Sarabeena decided to screw up her courage and approach them.

"Er...Hello." She said, looking amoungst them. "Did I hear someone mention the levitation charm? I haven't perfected it yet, I did manage to send a coin flipping through the air into the prefects soup at dinner time though - I'm not allowed to practice magic at the table anymore..." Not that anyone here asked for her life story.

Sarabeena looked up at the toll shelves. "I do however have a knack for climbing and craftiness. Like perhaps fetching the ladder for you!" she said with an attempted smile. "I'm Sarabeena, by the way. Most call me Sara or Bean though, for short..." Now she was nibbling her lower lip, worried that she may have intruded and made herself seem rude.

As we all know; the road to hell is paved with plastic miniatures and polyhedral dice.

Euphrasia smiled brightly at the Slytherin, and the newly joined Hufflepuff. Her extraordinary violet eyes flickered to the girls, before recognizing another girl, this one sporting the same gold and maroon robes that Euphrasia had.
"I'm Persephone. Nice to meet you. American, aren't you? Where are you from?"

The Slytherin girl gave out what seemed to be a forced giggle. Euphrasia quickly glanced at the Hufflepuff girl. She seemed nervous.
"I'm Sarabeena, by the way.  Most call me Sara or Bean though, for short..."

Euphrasia smiled at Sarabeena. The young Gryffindor had a bright, expressional face. Her wide violet eyes flickered to the shelf, scanning the books, trying to gather words. It was easy for her to introduce herself, but she wanted to make sure she got a good grip on her words. If she accidently spluttered something stupid, it could end in something worst than a rivalry, it could end in a fight. Something Euphrasia didn't want to deal with.

"I was born here, in England, but I often travel back and forth between America and here. So sorry if I switch accents a lot, I do it subconsciously," Euphrasia explained to Persephone.

Euphrasia grabbed a book from the shelf. The title was worn off, but it seemed that the Gryffindor girl knew what she wanted.

"Also, hi, Sarabeena. I'm Euphrasia, but you can call me Millie."

Allie wasn't too sure where to start when it came to exploring the huge castle that would be her home and her learning ground for the next months. She decided that the best place to start would probably be the library. As a child, she always loved reading about different famous wizards and witches in the books that her father kept in his study at home in London. This was the first time that Allie had really been away from her parents. She knew what kinds of things were expected from her, as both of her parents had graduated from Hogwarts as well.

Allie had to stop and ask a few professors for directions, and even had to cling to a few staircases as they moved so she wouldn't get lost or fall over. She finally found the big doorway to the library and stepped inside. She took in a deep breath and reveled in the smell of old books and knowledge that was just waiting to be hers. She took a few steps forward and saw a group of about three girls her age all huddled together and talking amongst themselves. She kind of recognized them from the Sorting ceremony. She approached them hesitantly and waved her hand slightly. "Hi there, are you all new here as well?"

Alright I'm taking over since it has been more than two weeks now and Veronica hasn't answered yet!

Persephone cringed. It seemed that the other girl had seen through her fake giggles. Why was it so hard for her to interact properly with other students ? She suppressed a sigh and listened to the conversation without participating much.

The Hufflepuff girl, Sarabeena, seemed to take interest into them as well. She smiled at her, as kindly as possible, and greeted her. "Hello, Sara. Nice to meet you. I'm Persephone." She had decided to keep it simple, so people wouldn't immediately realize she was not that gifted with normal interaction.

Persephone decided to just try and stick to her everyday persona : focused, not overly friendly but not hostile. That was what she used with teachers, after all. Maybe it would work with those girls too ?

She suppressed yet another sigh and wish it wasn't that difficult. Fortunately, another person, apparently hesitant, joined them, giving another chance to Percy to start anew.

"Hello, yes, we are all First Years here, if I'm not mistaken," she said in a friendly voice, but not overdoing it. "Nice to meet you, I'm Persephone, and this is Euphrasia," she said, waving a hand in the Gryffindor girl's direction, "and Sarabeena." She looked at the other Gryffindor girl she had bumped into earlier. "And I don't think we have introduced ourselves," she said politely."

She thought for a second before adding, slightly hesitating on the words, "So, how have you all managed since getting here ? Everything all right in your Houses, I hope ?"

Euphrasia hummed as she listened to other people join in on the conversation. Though it was interesting to see a group of girls all together. It was cool to see they were all of different houses. All of different ethnicities, cultures. Yet there were all joined together by Hogwarts. If it wasn't for the school, then Euphrasia wouldn't be talking to the girls she was today. She would be back in North America, yes, but was it really as good as she thought?

"So, how have you all managed since getting here ? Everything all right in your Houses, I hope ?"

Euphrasia shrugged. Being in Gryffindor was quite interesting, and she enjoyed everyone she spoke to. She had made a few friends in the house, but not very many. Then again, she had made friends in every house, and they were all quite pleasant. Though, Euphrasia thought that about everyone.

"My house isn't as cranked up as everyone thinks it is. I like the people in it, but we've not got very many people in it, and I haven't met a lot of them." Euphrasia knew there tons of kids in the other houses, but there was something special about Gryffindor.

Euphrasia looked at a clock on the farthest wall of the Library. It was getting late in the afternoon, and Euphrasia promised to meet a few friends down at the Great Lake to play some games.

"Well It's quite late now, isn't it?" Though the clock only showed Three O'clock, "I'll be heading off to the grounds now, but it was absolutely wonderful to meet you all!"
