Shoving
Nicholas’s blow missed, the smaller Ravenclaw evidently more agile than either of them had initially assumed. Nicholas hissed in frustration, falling back onto his back foot and facing his more slight opponent. He may have been acting wildly earlier, but instinct, carefully crafted after years of dodging thrown objects and spells on the race course drove him. The haymaker that was thrown in response to his own punch was wild, sloppy. Nicholas had little issue raising his arm in an upper block, casting the blow aside. Simultaneously, he stepped backwards once more, light upon his feet in a way that may have seen surprising given his relatively long limbs and bulk.
“Not bad, kid, not bad,” Nicholas growled, a feral, almost inhuman sound, “But you still have to God damn learn, mate. What you did…”
He stretched his neck, for the first time in their confrontation, his rational brain conquering that of his primal one. He’d been arrogant in his fight, and it had delayed his victory. He was still assured of that, to be sure, he was barely hurting, while his opponent was evidently suffering. Still, the longer it dragged on, the more likely it would be that a fluke would see him defeated and humiliated.
There was little to do but punch, to punch forever. Nicholas again closed the distance, and again through a punch.

Shoving
Dennis should have been smarter about his choice of attack. A wild swing was definitely not the optimal play here as the Gryffindor blocked his fist. So there can be blocks? Even in the last efforts that his little body could muster, he was still trying to learn what he could about how to fight. The fight wasn’t lasting much longer, unfortunately for the Ravenclaw. He would not withstand another hit. The older boy growled something nearly incomprehensible and didn’t even finish his sentence. He was easily twice the little boy’s size, he had no clue what the other boy was on about or what he expected. He just stared defiantly at the taller boy, daring him to do something.
Then it happened, Dennis had made the mistake of resting on the other’s raised hand instead of falling back into a fighting stance. He would not make that mistake again and in this fight, he wouldn’t be allowed a second chance. The oaf followed up the block with a straight punch to Dennis’ face. Cracking. Pain that, like a spider, crawled from his nose to engulf his head. Dennis didn’t remember anything after that and for good reason. His head recoiled from the blow knocking his head back like a bobble head.
Then, he kind of slumped down to the ground, folding as if he was an accordion into a heap on a the ground. It was as if it was in slow motion. His knees buckled and he fell straight down as his legs gave out. His head hit the floor, but only after he kind of slid from his seated position to prone on the ground. The landing was as soft as it could be when you were conscious to catch yourself. The final thought he had before waking up in the hospital wing was that he wish he was able to get one. More. Punch.

Shoving
Fist made contact with face, bone clashed against bone, and the younger boy was sent on the lightless walk. It took more than a few moments for Nicholas to properly register what had happened, and he almost felt as if his haphazard opponent would rise once again, and throw himself back into the fray. That didn’t eventuate. He buckled, he fell, and he lay still. For a few moments longer, Nicholas held his fighting stance, before his rational brain finally called him to his senses. The fight was over, he had won, and his red-headed adversary was unconscious. That probably wasn’t a good sign.
Dealing enough damage to someone’s skull to render them mostly asleep was hardly the kind of thing that left a good impression on their future health. Not to mention the more selfish worry that Nicholas would find himself in boiling water up to his neck.
“Kid?” He asked tentatively, finding he received no response.
Right. Well. Next steps then, what was he to do? He couldn’t really leave him unconscious and lying in the middle of the courtyard, not without any kind of assistance. What was he supposed to do now.
“Uh… some help?” The call was answered in due course, and with a few students attending to the defeated boy, Nicholas saw fit to make his leave.
