[ Interacting with Howard. Mentions Edric, Serena, Marcia ]
Thomas has never been inclined to take part in social gatherings, events where individuals would join their friends and have a good time. Thomas lacked both friends and the ability to let loose and have a good time. His mother’s continued encouragement through weekly OWLS to let go of self-doubt and allow the good virtues she had tried so desperately to instill speak for itself. It was increasingly difficult to heed her requests, as many of his encounters have been filled with verbal barbs followed by physical attacks.
In the latest owl, his mum insisted he go to the ball and put himself out there. She even supplied a fancy suit and tie get-up with the signature black and green colors of house Slytherin. Though after overhearing some older students plans to ditch the Blossomfest ball for a gathering at a lake, he opted to join this event instead. It was after sundown and most students would be swimming in the lake, he viewed it as a wonderful opportunity to tell his mother he tried his best. As for the suit, he wouldn’t be caught dead wearing it. Thomas would sport his typical athletic wear, a sleeveless white shirt with multi-purpose black shorts that extended slightly past his knees.
Upon his arrival to the rock filled shoreline the first item of notice was the collection of…was that, butterbeer? The sip of wine at a restaurant for his 10th birthday would not do justice to the effects of butterbeer. Even if the percentage of alcohol in butterbeer was likely comparable to kombucha tea, Thomas knew he would feel it quickly.
Without hesitation, he approached the large boulder, twisting open a bottle and letting the cap drop into the bed of rocks. A few older students glared at Thomas from the water when he brought the bottle to his lips, taking his first gulp. Could they be the Blossomfest litter police, or perhaps they were eyeing the steadily declining butterbeer? Thomas would simply glare back. Fight me.
The liquid was warm, but to his delight it had a sweet aroma accompanied by a gentle wave of euphoria that grew with each gulp. He remained at this boulder for quite some time, gulping down four bottles in quick succession [10 minutes]. He picked up a fifth bottle and began drifting along the shoreline with an idiotic expression on his face. The effects of the beer subdued his typically broody demeanor with a misplaced sense of blissful confidence.
Thomas would first catch sight of a group of students [Marcia, Edric, Serena] engaged in a scuffle accentuated by a kick to a Slytherin boy’s private area. He would shout whilst stumbling past them. “That’s the no-no-no-no area!” Thomas cackled in self-amusement at his comment towards the Slytherin student while wagging his finger. “Say goodbyeeeee to your children!” His voice took on a songlike quality, raising his butterbeer high in the air. After passing the group he would address a few random students completely unrelated to the fight. “That kid back there really dropped the ball.”
It wasn’t long before Thomas felt insurmountable pressure in his bladder. He needed to urinate. He came near a Hufflepuff boy with his feet in the water, butterbeer in hand with a few other bottles nearby on the rocks below. Now we’re talking, where the butter pong at. The boy only needed to slightly turn his face towards Thomas before he realized it was Howard White. “DUDE, Howard, YES…” He exclaimed with a fatuous grin, his subdued brain making the connection their consumption of butterbeer automatically made them best friends for life. “Hold my beer” He would attempt to hand his bottle to Howard, turning away before ensuring Howard took it. If Howard ignored the request, he would unintentionally drop the bottle to be shattered on the bed of rocks. Thomas hurriedly walked into the cool water until he was waist deep. Was he publicly urinating or simply going for a dip? I’ll let you decide.

Jade felt sudden urges to tell them anything and everything. Jade felt words starting to come so she quickly directed her thoughts to things she wouldn't embarrassed about telling them "It's ok Donny, I'm glad I saved your life, your such a good friend, maybe even my only friend..." What had Jade just said? My only friend!? Why would I say that!? I maen...... it is the truth, but......
Memory's started to fill Jade's mind, memories of that night in the hospital wing with Donny. This wasn't going to end well. Jade's thoughts soon they came to a halt on the moment when she had almost cried. "My Moms in hospital from an experiment that went wrong, she could have died, and this in't the first time! Donny was now enraged. He wanted to absolutely pour his thoughts out on anybody around him, they needed to know exactly how he felt for one. "None of you are at fault! It's me...wait-no! It's-It's that stupid, prick-Goddamn kid! Kaegen! He injured me! He injured so many others! He-why!?" Donny yelled, a trail of confused thoughts following his every word. He took a small glance at the cup of punch he was holding. There was something about it that made him feel...weird. "I-I don't think I'm thirsty anymore." he said. Then he looked up abruptly. "Besides, It tastes like those chocolate coconut bars from the muggle market! Here," he said, talking to the flat ground next to him. He put his empty water bottle that he'd stored his punch in.
"I'm also tired of this stupid Transfiguration class! Who cares about how to turn a rat into a goblet? And-then there's history of magic homework, it's an easy T if you ask me!" Donny continued to rage on. His rage didn't seem to match the bewildered look on his face. It seemed like he was just blurting things out. He then a a small second of rational thought, as though something were Waring off. "Er...I'm sorry about your mum Jade." he said shortly, though these few seconds were blurred back by a truthful rage, a fire burning fire in his forest emotions, and knowledge built up.

"I'm so confused," he blurted out truthfully, and took another sip of his punch just to stop his head from spinning this much. "Who's this Keagen? Why was he hurting people? Why was he hurting YOU?" Whoever this guy was, Ruka was gonna make sure he'd never touch Donny again! "Tell me who it is and I'll teach him a lesson!" He faltered a little bit as he thought about what he said. Looking down at himself he realised that there was no situation in which he could teach anybody a lesson, not when he was a head shorter than Donny and light as a feather. Whoever had hurt Donny could probably eat Ruka for breakfast. "Or at least I'll make sure to give him the stink eye when he walks past!" He shook his head at himself, feeling increasingly dizzy with new information and the constant longing to share his own thoughts on everything as well.
With a little sigh he turned to Jade who was talking about her mum in the hospital, and Ruka really wanted to reach out and comfort her, but he thought if he moved too much he may pass out from the dizziness.
"I'm so sorry about that, Jade," he said instead, hands shaking a little. He wanted to talk and listen all at once, face going pale as he felt himself torn between calming down Donny and comforting Jade.
With a deep breath his decision was made for him as he leaned forward a bit and threw up right by the side of the water.

River had just left the dancefloor, it wasn’t as great as she had been hoping it would be. She had seen a few people leaving before her, and as River’s curiosity grew, she could not help but follow to see where they were headed. Some of them looked like they were going down to the lake, and then there were a few people who were heading in a direction of which River had not yet been to explore. Since River didn’t feel like ending up lost in an unknown area, she decided to go to the lake, and see what was going on there.
River walked hastily along the grass, wondering how many people had left the ball before her, to get away for a little. The sun was getting lower, and River took a deep breath, as she felt the fresh air of the grounds fill her lungs. Being outside was nice, and the breeze lightly caught her curly hair.
The young Ravenclaw could tell she was approaching someone, as the voice of several people were growing nearer and nearer. She could have sworn she’d heard at least one of them somewhere before.
In not long, she could not only hear people, but also see the souce of their voices. She approached slowly, getting a little nervous again, as to who she should go up and talk to.
Right we’re here again, trying to find out who to approach... That was the hardest part of these soical events, actually being social.
Well let’s not repeat what happened at the dancefloor, she thought to herself, and decided upon a group of students that looked nice. It was two boys, and one girl as far as River could see.
They seemed to be deep in a conversation, but so were everyone else. River could not hear what they were talking about. She started walking slowly up to the trio, and eventually picking up the pace, and confidence along the way.
She aproached the students, putting on a polite smile as she timidly introduced herself, «Hello! I’m River, and I was just wondering if I could hang out with you guys?», Really? Was that you best attempt of starting a conversation? she thought critically to herself. «I hope I’m not disturbing anything?», she said quickly, getting a little nervous again.

Alan was confused he had just arrived and even asked for what was going on. Well maybe he did not notice that there were people fighting, but he was not a seer or ssomething like that. Should he have noticed the fight and tried to stop it though? The girl pushed something into his hands and he nearly dropped it in surprise, before he was ale to get a hold on what he supposed was pizza, just from the smell from it.
He looked down and noticed that it indeed was a box of pizza that the brunette had pushed into his hold before she herself intervened with whatever was going on around the others. While the other were busy fighting he could see the book in the water, that the girl had involuntarily dropped into the Great lake and it was the same girl that had been so sensitive when she just dropped the book onto the ground because of him. It didn't even bend the cover or anything but the book must be important to the girl, so while the other people tried to intervene with the people, he stepped to the lake. In one hand he was holding the slice of pizza on a plate and with the other he was trying to retrieve the wand from the holster.
When he got a hold of it he took it out and gave a swish and flick while muttering the words, ”Wingardium Leviosa”[Roll 19] and it was a success, more than that. Alan seemed to actually have some control over the spell as he raised his arm, the one holding the wand, while his eyes never left the object. But keeping the book steady was a problem as Alan soon noticed his control over the spell was decreasing [roll 1] so he quickly swished his hands to not let the book drop into the lake once again.
However now it was threatening to drop to the ground, making the young Gryffindor groan in frustration as he attempted to leap towards the object and catch it safely, which his agility and reflexes allowed him to do, as he caught the book before dropping it to the ground. He was holding the book in both of his hands, safely and hoped the water did not too much damage.
...wait both?
Alan looked at his hands, his hands clutching the book and his wand. Alan then looked to the ground where he was standing a few feet away from the Lake with the slice of pizza dropped to the floor, where he dropped in order to catch the book. Heat rose into his face as he looked at the group of Slytherins and the Hufflepuff, hoping she would not be mad at him that he dropped the pizza but he did not want the book to be ruined completely either. Gladly the Pizza was within a box meaning it would not be that bad, maybe a bit of the cheese slid off but the Pizza box seemed fine and the lid did not open, so Alan quickly picked it up, feeling bad nonetheless.

He winced as the older student hit the ground.
Glen hung his head and sighed. Why, oh, why did he had to get dragged out of the common room by his conscience? He should've just stayed put and enjoyed a quiet evening – and damn the consequences. But no, he had listen to his (obviously, possibly misplaced) sense of duty and make an attempt on attending that stupid waste of an event. And he hadn't even made it there and still, trouble found him.
He slouched. He didn't want to deal with this. But he probably would have to get involved now. Maybe if he threatened them with some punishment, that would be enough? He didn't want to report them or assign anything... after all, he wasn't exactly supposed to be here either.
Not that he wasn't allowed here, no, it was nowhere near curfew yet, but still. He didn't mind his prefect work but he just wanted to chill. He should've just bounced as soon as he heard angry or desperate yells in between the playful ones. But now it was too late, wasn't it?
Had the former prefect (if he'd been right about that) girl waved at him to catch his attention to what was going on? If so, he really couldn't just walk away, could he? And even if she didn't – maybe she waved to the boy sitting somewhere in between – that didn't really change anything.
Splash.
He whipped his head toward the sound of something hitting the water. Did the guy throw something into the lake?? Oh no, was that a book? Merlin, please don't be a Library book.He shook his head at himself. Not the point, he reminded himself.
He stared at the scene in horror as it devolved into a full-on fight. He froze as the older boy attacked his classmate in retaliation and was in turn attacked by the girl that had come running after him.
Oh, bloody hell.
Glen decided to get a grip and grumbled to himself, annoyed. Then he shook off his reluctance and made his way over to intervene, even if the second girl seemed to already be trying to defuse the situation.

The lukewarm butter beer filled his belly. Most might consider warm and slightly stale beer a turn off, but Howard wouldn’t know any different. Give it a few more years. The sweet liquid sent a feeling of warmth through his body, his head growing a little fuzzy. He felt calm, something he rarely was these days. As he polished off the second bottle, he let his arms fall to his side, the empty beer falling from his fingertips into the water, floating away behind him. He tilted his head to the sky and closed his eyes, reveling in this moment of quiet peacefulness. Nothing good lasts.
“Hey you!” A girl’s voice would carry across the water. Howard’s eyes opened a little slow. A group of older students were near by, further out in the water. “If you can have our beer, you can join us. C’mon dude! Kelli thinks your cuuuute!” Howard would not respond verbally. His right hand would raise into a rather rude gesture. Movement behind him would draw his attention.
”DUDE, Howard, YES.”
Dear god! It was none other than Thomas Lestrange. Their interactions together had been largely influenced by rage and violence, but tonight the boy approached with a rather silly expression on his face. His usual brooding replaced with a dumb smile. Howard spotted a butter beer in his hand, obviously not his first.
”Hold my beer.” Thomas held it out as he passed, barely giving Howard a second to react. The bottle would slip from his hand, crashing to the ground.
“Thomas! What the hell man. What a waste.”
The other boy barely seemed to notice as he quickly waded out to waist deep water. His silly expression turned to one of immense relief. One that any man might recognize.
“Dude! Are you takin a piss! Don’t look at me. Turn around you git!”

Speaks of Donnovan Pennywrinkle, Serena Towers and Alan Vanes
As the lights and music of the Dancefloor faded out, Nico took her time to make her way to the Lake. It wasn't anything new. She had come here before for sketching and drawing. The scene was breathtaking. Except she had never been out here after dark. Well, only to give two students detention who had started a fire on the shore.
Nico breathed in deeply, Pip did the same. He liked to mimmic her. It was a way for him to get to know her better and better. As the Slytherin did so, she stretched out her arms, reaching for the sky. The evening was still young. Anything was possible. She shook her head slowely as she threw her arms down again. Even to her that sounded cheesy.
On her way down, voices echoed from the distance. Apparantly a whole lot of students already decided to spend their evening/night here. Pip snarled softly, his fluffy poofing up immensely. Her hand gently stroked his back. It was Pips first time out and immediately he had to handle her panic attacks and strangers.
'It's okey, Pip. We'll be okey.' She scratched the back of his head. 'Especially now you're here.' He squeeked happily.
Arriving at the source of the voices, Nico carefully scanned the area. She saw some familiar faces: two kids she gave detention too for example. The Huffelpuff was screaming:''...prick-Goddamn kid! Kaegen! He injured me! He injured so many others! He-why!?"
Nico had already stopped in her tracks, standing out of sight, a perfect spot to observe the others. Hearing the Ravenclaws name drop, made her stomach curl. She did hear something about an incident in the abandoned toilets, but for some reason she tried to ... refuse that happened. He probably had a reason.. Is how she justified his actions.
She couldn't bear to hear them discuss him. On the other hand she felt the need to defend the Ravenclaw but on the other hand she felt no need to pull any unwanted attention. Whatever happened, happened. No body can change it.
Pip rubbed Nico's cheek. 'S-Sorry, I was slipping again weren't I?' She ruffled his furr and walked passed the exceptionally loud gossiping group. Maybe there were some students she actually knew around here.
Nico noticed a group with some more familiar faces, the good kind. It was kinda getting darker but she thought she could see Serena and... Alan? The Slytherin hid behind a tree, to observe the scene. She wasn't entirely sure how to approach them at this point.

He grinned down at Rowan and walked a bit further into the water to where it was to his hips. Miko had his signature mischievous grin on which made it clear he was planning something. Whether that something be fun or maybe a bit not for some people was unclear but he definitely was planning something.
Miko was happy he wasn't carrying Rowan wrong or uncomfortably, that was good. His grin stayed but it faltered a bit. "I s'pose I could teach ye how ta swim, aye?" Teaching someone seemed to give his eyes a little sparkle and that was when his mischief began.
The Hufflepuff let go of Rowan for a split second but caught him right before he could touch the water. Clearly that wasn't the only thing he was planning because his sly grin was still there, oh the Gryffindor would be in for a surprise.
Yes! The females' name was Celynne! Finally he got it. He remembered when he met her first, it was quite fun because he felt in charge finally which he clearly wasn't. As any child he was never in charge, that's what his parents did. That was their job, not his which got annoying sometimes. Miko was controlled mainly by his brother and his step-dad, his biological father was really laid back and let Miko do what he pleased as long as it was safe which it mostly was. Of course the Hufflepuff got into a bit of mischief often but it was never dangerous, well not that dangerous anyway. Besides, you never get anything done if you stay inside your comfort zone, right? Especially in sports that's just how it goes.
