Tori smiled and listened to the girl. She would love to help Annie. While she was choosing a cake topper, she went to the Ravenclaw table and grabbed some frosting and some icing for some decorations and came over to Annie.

"Hmm. What are your favorite colors? We can use them as icing. Close your eyes and just smell and taste and choose the 3 you like best. Three of them will decorate different cupcakes. Most of the time, when the eyes are indecisive, other sensory organs come into play."

She puts the decorations on the table. This thought came to her mind just now and he said it as soon as it came. She didn't regret doing this.

"Don't worry, my handwriting is beautiful. So who are you planning to do it to? Maybe I know the people you will do it for. This way it might be a little easier to do."

She presented an idea. Then the thought comes to her mind that maybe the girl hasn't decided yet. Then maybe we could find it together, she thought.

Matilde was heading back to her common room to finish some astronomy homework she’d procrastinated on. Okay, okay. Not her best spent weekend (time management? What does that even mean?) but it had happened before and it would happen again. The distinct smell of sweets -chocolate, lemon, and vanilla to be precise- made her stop in her tracks. It was coming from the Great Hall. Though she knew now was not the time to get side tracked, it was calling to her. There was no other option, nothing she could do other than follow her nose. Astronomy could wait.

Matilde’s mouth dropped open as she poked her head inside the Great Hall, and witnessed the cupcake extravaganza that was taking place inside. Students all around were decorating cupcakes with all different color frostings and decorations. This was simply not something she could miss. She took a few steps inside to further investigate. It appeared the event was for valentine’s day.

After asking another student, Matilde found out that the limit was three cupcakes. Matilde didn’t have a crush, but she knew that the holiday was about more than just romantic love. She bit her lip, thinking hard about how to narrow down her list of family and friends. She would definitely have to send one to her best friend, Phelan. It would also be nice to send some for her family. One for her grandparents, she decided, and one for her brother. She smiled, thinking about all the sweets he’d given her from Hogsmede this year. Matilde headed over to the Slytherin table, picking up her three cupcakes. A chocolate one for Phelan, vanilla for her grandparents, and another chocolate for her brother. She decided to decorate first, then write the letters. Matilde decorated Phelan’s in blue, buttercream. It was a shade that reminded her of the sea. With green mint icing, she piped a capital “p” and some flowers that ended up looking pretty messy. Searching around in the pile of decorations, she found a bottle of cat shaped sprinkles. Perfect. She beamed, and stuck them all over Phelan’s cupcake. Moving on to her grandparents’ cupcake, she chose a bright maroon color, could it be red velvet? She piped some more roses, which looked much better this time. She covered the whole cupcake. For Martyn’s, she used a dark blue frosting, maybe blue raspberry flavored? with yellow stars. Matilde surveyed her work, proudly. All that was left to do was write the letters.

She found the stationary on the Hufflepuff table, and took a seat to write out her letters. She chose a few pieces of creme colored paper and a green pen. She decided to write a separate letter for each of her grandparents, because they had to share a cupcake. There didn’t seem to be any limit on the number of letters. Matilde finished writing out the four letters. There was more than just the paper and pens on the table, it would be such a shame to not use all this amazing craft supplies. She gathered a few paint pots and a thin brush, and proceeded to create intricate designs on the borders of her letters. Painting was one of Matilde’s many hobbies and favorite activities, and she especially liked painting nature-like patterns such as those she was drawing now. When she was satisfied with her decorations, Matilde sealed the letters and wrote each of the recipients’ names in cursive.

Up until now, Matilde hadn’t considered how the cupcakes were going to be delivered to their recipients. It seemed as though they were to be delivered by the staff come wednesday but…two of her cupcakes were supposed to go to people outside of Hogwarts. She thought about her problem for a moment. It’s okay, she could just…owl them herself. She packaged up the three cupcakes, placed Martyn’s on the table, and the other two in her school bag. Hopefully they’d get to their intended places okay. She headed out of the Great Hall. Time to go back to homework.

After she had finished drawing on the paper that'll be sent to Klynn, Tracey placed it back onto the table after Kaitlyn was able to see it and decided to draw on Kylie's. For Kylie's, she drew books as well as Tiger surrounded by a pile of books, which is how the two girls met in the first place. She smiled at the memory and then colored it in making the pictures pretty. She then folded it up and then was about to grab Kaitlyn's when she heard her friend speaking. She smiled at her friend before saying,
"Oh, nice! I'm not sure if these are friends with each other or not, but they are certainly friends of mine!"

After she said that and was about to go back to drawing, but saw Kaitlyn flush because of what she said. She also heard Kaitlyn speak and then Tracey said,
"Of course I loved it! It made me picture exactly what you wrote in my head, and normally that means, it's a very good written poem, I think. I'm not entirely sure about poetry, but believe me, it's amazing!"

After she said that, she decided to start drawing on Kaitlyn's. It was the two in the study room, studying with Tiger, and Kaitlyn was petting Tiger. She smiled at the memory and folded up the paper and put it beside Kaitlyn's cupcake. She then heard Kaitlyn speak and made a smile appear on Tracey's face again and she said,
"Thanks! Minnie will definitely love the drawings and the poem!"

After that, she allowed Kaitlyn to help her write the poem, and in the end, she had finished up the poem and was going to confess to him too. She wrote in neat cursive writing and all the i's were in hearts.

Two souls, their fates intertwined
Bumping together near a flood of cascading water
Vowing to meet at their haunt
Changing their appearance to look unique.

Their meetings short and sweet
A brewing friendship!
Accentuated by a pet’s love.
A vow to protect, a vow to help, a vow to personal characteristics.

Thoughts are swarming
Surrounding their hearts
Brining them closer
At each passing moment

A chorus of quiet mururs
Draws the souls together
As their walls shatter
Exposing their true beliefs

They’re becoming fast friends
Making plans together
Intertwining their fates
Who knows what may come of it?

After she finished the poem, she began thinking of what to write as a confession, she took about five minutes and then finally started writing in the same neat cursive font with any i's as hearts.

I hope you like this poem. It took a while to write, but in the end I was able to write it with the help of a friend, but I also hope you know how special you are to me. When I said I'd curse anyone who said you are threatening, I didn't know it then, but I like you. More than a friend, and I know had like two encounters, and this probably isn't a formal confession, but I hope my feelings got across to you!

After she's done writing, she set the pen down and handed it to Kaitlyn so she can read it. She then asked,
"How is it? I finally finished,"

As Kaitlyn finished up Quinn’s drawings, she couldn’t help but to snort at Tracey’s comment. “I’m not going to give you more hints,” she softly teased. She didn’t want Tracey to know that the last one was for her. She wanted to see the surprise in Tracey. ‘I’m sure Tracey will have an awesome reaction to receiving a cupcake … while I get none. Well, I’m fine with that, as long as Tracey is happy,’ she thought.

The flush on her cheeks deepend at Tracey’s words. ‘She knows me so well,’ she thought. “Thanks … The last time I wrote a poem, at my muggle boarding school, it kind of sucked. I’m happy to hear that you liked it,” she giggled. ‘I’ll like it even more if Minnie likes it,’ she thought. A happy smile formed on her face at Tracey’s words. ‘It’s almost as if she reads my mind,’ she thought. “Th-thanks, I hope so,” she giggled.

After helping Tracey with her poem, Kaitlyn quickly drew a picture on Tracey’s note, as her best friend wrote her own note. She drew Tiger walking among books. She also drew a paint brush with multi-colored bristles, to give a nod to Tracey’s metamorphmagus ability. Noticing some movement from Tracey, Kaitlyn quickly folded her note and placed it with Tracy’s cupcake. She also did the same for Quinn and Minnie.

When Tracey handed her the poem with newly written note from Tracey declearing her love, Kaitlyn read it and immediately covered her mouth with her hand, a dark flush on her cheeks. “Tracey!” She croaked. “This is … this is … awww, so sweet!” She gushed. ‘I love how we have a similar handwrititng, too! I love her note declearing her love for Klynn. I’d love to write one for Minnie … Wait,’ she thought. Her cheeks flushed even darker. ‘Why am I having those thoughts about Minnie? She’s my friend. I don’t like her like that … do I?’ She thought, her blue eyes now downcast with weird lesbian thoughts.

Opeila had told Aaron about the cupcake decorating event she arranged with the Potions professor and a fellow prefect, so of course he planned to attend and decorate one (or maybe three) for her. The trick would be avoiding her during the event. He chose not to join at the very beginning, when the staff would probably be greeting the students and paying more attention. It was more towards the middle that he joined a group of fellow fifth-years on their way into the Great Hall. He was wearing dark colors in the hopes of blending into the crowd, and he immediately went to a table with lots of other people. It was only once he was situated in a spot between several others that he risked a glance around the room.

The green-eyed beauty he was looking for couldn't be seen from where he sat, so she likely couldn't see him either. Perfect. He could turn his attention to the cupcakes, then.

As soon as he saw the chocolate cupcakes and fruit options, a massive grin broke out on the Hufflepuff's face. Opeila loved chocolate, and it immediately gave him an idea for one of the decorations. He grabbed the cupcake and also a bowl of fruit. He stuck the fruit with wooden sticks, dipped them in a bowl of melted chocolate, then stuck the fruit sticks into the cupcake. Hopefully, it would remind her of the time they almost got kicked out of Honeydukes. He grabbed another chocolate cupcake and, seeing there was a caramel icing option (Opeila loved caramel sweets too), tried his best to ice the cupcake. It wasn't super pretty, but it would definitely be delicious. And for the third cupcake, he decided on a lemon flavor. Lemon with some of the white vanilla frosting. Something lighter just in case she wasn't in a chocolatey mood (though that was rare).

Up next was writing a note. He figured something simple would go a long way. On one side of the notecard, he would do some doodling. He wasn't the most amazing artist, but he was told his doodles were pretty entertaining. On this card, he would doodle a little image of his own face, Opeila's face, her cat Loras, and his owl Chae-rin. And he added a tiny little heart between his face and Opeila's. It might've seemed juvenile to most, but he thought she'd appreciate the gesture. On the other side of the notecard, he wrote her a message.
Opeila,

Happy Valentine's Day!

I wouldn't be opposed to spending a lot more together.

Love,

Aaron
He had hesitated writing "love." They hadn't exchanged "I love you" yet, but signing a letter as love wasn't the same, right? He decided not to overthink it, it was a Valentine's card after all. And maybe... well, best to think of that another time. This was just a cute cupcake exchange. With his three cupcakes in hand and another glance over his shoulder to make sure Opeila wasn't in eyesight, he sought out Xailah Alptraum. They had never met before, but he knew the names and faces of most Hogwarts prefects.

"Hi, Xailah, right?" Aaron said, approaching the dark-haired Gryffindor. He went on to introduce himself as Opeila's boyfriend and explained that he was hoping she wouldn't see the cupcakes before they all got delivered. Xailah assured him that she could help and took the finished cupcakes and note from him. He thanked her with a smile and then turned to make his way out of the Great Hall in its entirety.

And that's when he finally saw her. His instinct was to look away and try to hide himself, make a quick getaway so she definitely wouldn't expect any cupcakes. It would make them a happy surprise. But instead, he saw who she was with, so he hesitated. Alec Mason. Ever since Opeila told Aaron about the Binding Mark she shared with the guy, seeing him was really... uncomfortable.

The Hufflepuff felt a lump form in his throat as Alec hugged Opeila from behind as if it was the most natural thing in the world. Aaron clenched his fists at his side, not realizing just how worked up he felt in that moment. What he did know is he didn't want to stick around and watch whatever the hell that was. He averted his eyes and made a speedy exit from the Great Hall.

The moment I walked into the Great Hall my senses were immediately heightened. The smell of freshly baked cupcakes and half a million flavours of icing filled my nose. I could see tables after tables abundant in the decorations, with people crowding every corner. Laughs of joy and excitement could be heard from the entrance of the doors, smiles filling the students faces as they all hurriedly made their cupcakes for their friends and loved ones. As I approached the cupcake table, the delicious scent got stronger and stronger, my mouth watered, already being able to taste it.

Okay now, just remember, these aren’t for you, they’re for Genevieve I thought to myself. The table was now right in front of my face, and I was overwhelmed by the amount of options to choose from. It was a bakers heaven, or, a sweet tooth’s heaven rather. I decided to go with chocolate though, a pretty safe choice, you couldn’t really ever go wrong with chocolate. I grabbed one of the cute little heart shaped cupcakes, I’ve never seen them like that before, and moved onto the decoration process. Once again, I was overwhelmed with all of my options. Basically they had laid out every flavour base and icing, and probably every topping you can think of too, but I wasn’t quite at that point yet.

At first, I picked up a lemon flavoured icing, before putting it back down to consider a few more options. Cotton candy? Salted caramel? Peanut butter? Mint chocolate? I was just about to add on some strawberry shortcake icing, I had it hovering directly above the cupcake, before I noticed another flavour. Ooh, Viva will definitely want this one I smiled, and picked up a raspberry icing. Chocolate raspberry was always an amazing combo, and I knew Genevieve would love it, I’m sure of it. Carefully, I piped the icing on, tracing the same shape of the heart and adding little dots on the outside as an outline. When I had that part completed, I stepped back to admire my work, I felt quite proud of myself, I think it looked really good! Really though, it didn’t matter how it looked, only how it tasted, well, for the most part.

For the sprinkles, I decided some nice heart shaped ones would be good. Nothing too fancy or anything, but still fun and fitting for the occasion. I placed one heart on each outlining dot of the cupcake, it was actually a good amount of work, more than it seemed that’s for sure. But I knew this would all be worth it, anything for my friends, Viva especially. I picked out another heart sprinkle once I was done, a slightly larger one, and added it in the middle as my little finishing touch. Perfect!

Now, last but certainly not least, the note. We were each allowed to write a special note to go along with our cupcake, and they would end up being sent together, and I couldn’t forget about the note! There were many types of paper, though I didn’t really think that it mattered, it was all just paper, it wasn’t like the cupcake, you don’t eat this part. I grabbed the first piece in front of me along with a quill. First, a drew a swirly line on the top and bottom of the page for a bit of fancy decoration, the started on the actual note itself. On the page, I wrote:
Dear Genevieve,
Thank you for always being such an amazing friend to me, Hogwarts has been so much better with you here, I’m so glad I met you! I hope that we can always stay friends, and here’s a cupcake for you! I hope you like it, I think I picked stuff that you’ll like, it seemed like something you’d like. Oh yeah and Happy Valentines Day!

Love Kie

Perfect. Now everything was all done, and it was ready to be shipped off to my dear friend Genevieve. I put the note and cupcake together, put her name on it, and sent it away.

Viva smiled as she walked down to the Great Hall. As she pushed open the double doors to the hall, the smell of wonderful cake and baked goods filled her senses. Ahhh... Viva loved Valentine's Day! It was so much fun to show the people you loved that you appreciated them. Of course, Viva didn't have a boyfriend yet, but she had a best friend! @Kiera Roseline was there for her whenever she needed a hug or a laugh. The two had met on the second day of term, September two, and had been fast friends ever since.

I wonder what kind of cupcake Kie would like? Viva walkedslowly around the Great Hall, inspecting all the many different types of delectables. There are so many options! Taking forever to decide, she kept walking around, looking at the other students hard at work on their creations.

Finally, she stopped in front of some delicious looking chocolate cupcakes. Yum... these look perfect! She knew Kie loved chocolate. Grabbing one, she found an empty workspace and put the cupcake down. What to do for the icing? Looking around, she spotted the perfect one. Aha! Salted caramel. Carefully spooning the caramel flavoured icing onto the chocolate cupcake, she arranged it in a pretty swirl pattern on top.

All the other people around Viva were hard at work as well; she watched as girls laboured over their little treats, trying to get every detail perfect, and boys glance worriedly at their creations, hoping they were good enough. She smiled, happy in general on this fun holiday. There were so many different varieties of cupcakes and ingredients that she could see. I wonder how on earth the house elves prepare this much food in such a short amount of time! She was filled with a new gratitude for the little house elves. She could see sooo many kinds of cupcakes, including fruit ones, which were her personal favorite. There was fresh fruit for toppings also, which Viva swiped a few of to munch on while she worked. Yum. No one will notice, right? Laughing a little, Viva continued on her work for Kiera.

After the icing was on, Viva drizzled some caramel sauce on top. There. Standing back to admire her handiwork, she gave a nod and a smile of satisfaction. It did look quite delicious. The chocolate cupcake was moist and rich, and Viva could smell the amazing chocolatey smell that was wafting off of it.

Now, on to make a little card for her friend. Viva stepped lightly up to the stationary table and grabbed some art supplies: fine tip markers and some pretty white paper. She carefully folded the paper and then began to draw bright yellow flowers on the card, completing the front with the words: "My Dear Friend" in a green cursive script. She took quite a long while to finish her card, carefully drawing in every little detail of the yellow flowers. She loved to draw, and hoped Kie would appreciate the time she had taken to make this artwork.

Once she had finally finshed drawing the flowers, she flipped the card open and on the inside wrote:

Carefully putting her cupcake in a cheerful yellow box, Viva fastened the card on top with a yellow ribbon. I hope she likes it! She carried her gift over to the high table and set it down, smiling as she walked away.

After she let Kaitlyn look at Klynn's note, she folded it up and placed it next to Klynn's cupcake. She then got up from the table and went over to where the boxes are and grabbed six, three for her, and three for Kaitlyn. She then placed them down on the table and heard Kaitlyn speaking. Tracey smiled at her friend before saying,
"I didn't know you were giving me hints. But, I brought you boxes to put your cupcakes into, when your done, of course,"

She then opened one of the boxes and placed Kylie's cupcake inside of the box then closed it and tied the note onto the box, she did the same thing with Kaitlyn's, and she was about to do the same thing for Klynn's, when she heard Kaitlyn speak. She smiled brightly at her friend then said,
"Your welcome! Well, you've definitely improved since the last time you wrote a poem,"

In a way, Tracey had a feeling it was like she was reading her friends mind, but she didn't know why it came off as that, even tho she wasn't, and can't read minds, since she's a Metamorphmagi, so she can only change her appearance and that's it. She snapped out of these thoughts when she heard Kaitlyn's reply. Tracey smiled brightly, and also blushed, she was glad Kaitlyn liked it, but the thought of Klynn also liking it, made her very happy. She smiled brightly at her friend again and then said,
"Thanks! Hopefully he doesn't reject me. I mean, I tried my hardest, and you did too,"

Kaitlyn smiled, as Tracey came over with six boxes for them. She giggled. “Well, I won’t be now. Thanks for the boxes,” she replied, gratefully. She took one of the boxes and boxed Minnie’s cupcake with the note tied on the box with a light flush on her cheeks. She stood there, staring at it for a few moments before standing up and dashing over to the Hufflepuff table. She came back with a yellow bow, and a darker flush. She attached the bow, making sure it was right in the middle of the top of the box.

Kaitlyn then boxed Quinn’s cupcake and Tracey’s cupcake with their notes attached to their respective boxes. She looked over at Tracey at the sound of her compliment, and she nodded slightly embarassed. “Thanks … I … um, haven’t really tried making new ones since I came here,” she shrugged. ‘And I kind of wanted to write one for Minnie … so ….’ She thought.

Hearing Tracey’s comment, Kaitlyn quickly shook her head. “I don’t think he’ll reject you. Your so nice, and pretty. I don’t know why he’d do something stupid like that,” she replied. A light flush lit up her cheeks again at the compliment. “Yes, yes, I tried,” she agreed, looking down at her slender hands. ‘I hope it’s enough for Minnie to realize that I care … I don’t really know why I want Minnie to enjoy it … I guess to make her happy?’ She thought, thoughts swirling in her mind. "Let's bring our boxes to hand in," she suggested. She picked up her three boxes, putting them where everyone else were placing them.

Tracey smiled brightly at her friend. She also saw her friend boxing up her cupcakes, and Tracey looked back at her three cupcake boxes and thought they'd all need a ribbon, so she went over to the Hufflepuff table and grabbed three ribbons. A red and black ribbon for Kylie, a green ribbon for Kaitlyn, and a green and blue ribbon for Klynn. She tied the ribbons onto the respective boxes then said,
"Your welcome! Maybe I'll start working on some short stories, or some poems, I'm not sure yet, but I am good at writing,"

When she attended muggle school, Tracey would always get first place in the writing competitions that were held at her school yearly, and she was very confident in her writing skills, since her pieces won every single year, until she graduated, now she hopes that whoever is the new winner, enjoys writing as much as she does. Tracey nodded her head before picking up her three boxes and placing them next to Kaitlyn's she then said,
"That's true. Oh, wanna hang out? I have nothing else to do. I could also show you to the Room of Requirement, if you want me too. I'll be waiting near the library,"

Tracey made her way over to the doors of the Great Hall, so she can leave the hall, hopefully Kaitlyn says yes, cause Tracey really wants to continue hanging out with her friend. She left the Great Hall and waited for her friend near the library, even tho she doesn't tend to visit the library a lot, she decided to wait for Kaitlyn there anyways.
