As soon as Violet recieved a letter apparently from her quill pal, she gathered her quill and a piece of parchment, writing a letter to her quill pal.

I had felt like this was a stupid idea too. I really did not expect to receive a letter from you. Katherine is such a beautiful name. Don't worry though, I will make sure to call you Kit, I don't want to be flipendoed. I'm Violet Rohr, and you can give me any nickname you like as long as it doesn't offend me. And I would love to be your friend. Make sure to share more about yourself in your next letter!

Oh to be honest I don’t really like writing letters. Still, sometimes it gives me more time to think before I speak which I find gets me more friends .

Well, I’m a first year in Slytherin house. Which house are you in? I might’ve read it somewhere in the sign ups but I honestly don’t remember. I’m from the outskirts of Edinburgh and I enjoy sports and exploring. What about you?

Indeed, I am a half-blood. My Ma is a muggle chef who works at a restaurant. My Da is a healer working at some city hospital. I dont' see him often enough to talk magic stuff with him, since he works the night shift, but he was the one who introduced me to magic.

My favourite wizard sport is Quidditch, but I might be considering duelling. And you?

Well when I was in Dulverton, I loved to read books from my mother's library that had both magical and muggle fantasies.
I have to say your parents and their jobs sound absolutely cool! My mom is an Auror while my dad works in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.
I like Quidditch too! Though I don't think I'll be as good. Have you tried out for Quidditch? I love duelling, I will sign up for a duelling club soon I think.
By the way, I'm curious about how your experience with Hogwarts has been.

What does an auror do? I’ve never met one or heard of one before. I don’t think my dad knows anyone who’s an auror, either. All his boring friends are healers.

I haven’t tried for sports yet but I probably will soon!

My current experience at Hogwarts… well, there had been ups and downs, I guess. I’ve made friends, but I’ve most certainly also made enemies. I think I’m also a troublemaker, but I get good enough grades I guess…

Hmm, I think a career as an auror sounds exciting and a adventurous. I might consider become one in the future. Well, I’m sure healing is cool and all, just not up my alley I guess.

Are you a troublemaker (ps, this is my imitation of what is called an “emoji” by muggles. We often use it in conversations a little like super short letters called “texting”) too? Most people don’t want to admit it, but I enjoy the mischief.

Yeah, I guess I do kind of miss home. A part of me kind of wants to go back to state school: thing were much simpler back then. I used to play pranks on my classmates with my metamorphmagus ability, but eventually the Ministry of Magic got me in trouble and erased their memories of that. Of course, I still morph now and then at Hogwarts, but it can’t really be considered a prank now, can it? Are metamorphmagus common? I don’t think I’ve ever met one. Have you?

Wow, this letter was pretty long imo (means “in my opinion”), so I’ll be signing off now.
