Hey y'all, I'm new here btw so yeah, exciting![/center

There was a new book in the Hogwarts library and Elio wanted it, he wanted it bad there was only one problem however a book this magnificent wasn't going to simply be handed to him afterall a scrawny first-year transfer student didn't any privileges. So at night, the light from his wand suppressed under his cloak he crept into the library.
Each book, leather bound birds perched on wooden shelves gleamed in the low light almost like now with the day drained back to shadows their pages had shifted and secret sentences appear. Looking for a flash of deep red amongst walls of browns, blues and greys, a few students had left behind scrolls of parchment and paper in their rush to leave homework behind a casual act of forgetfulness that would soon be forgotten in he was caught. Elio stopped, he hadn't thought about the possibility of being caught or even what he would do if the book wasn't here yet. Maybe the delivery came late or suddenly burst into flames or...no, he had to focus. He was going to be the first to read this book before anyone else and then charge one sickle for a sentence. There, a flash of red, darker than dragon scales brighter than roses, Alania Valenvour's guide to dating & magical mischief

Perhaps she should've gone back the common room when the library closed, as well as when curfew passed; but some of the girls in her dorm made it simply impossible to get any real work done and Illowy wasn't fond of the idea of doing poorly on account of inconsideration. She wasn't there to gossip or plot pranks or nonsense like that, she was there to learn. It was a school after all.

Hidden away in one of the far corners of the library, she did well to make sure she stayed hidden, reading by the muffled light of her wand and taking notes. That was, until she heard footsteps creeping through the rows shelves. They were hesitant though. Surely if it were staff coming to retrieve something- or someone- they would walk with a more sure foot. Perhaps it was the prefect coming to fetch her when realizing she wasn't in bed.

Smothering the light of her wand altogether, she silently closed her notebook, deciding she had to know who it was to know best how to evade them. Careful not to make a sound as she stepped through the rows of ancient text, listening hard as someone moved. The footsteps shuffling for a moment, pausing, then repeating the pattern. Someone must've been looking for something. She peaked around shelf, spotting a dark form and the haze of a wand attempting to be muffled by a cloak. One thing was for certain, the shadow was too short to be staff, and a glint of blue fabric sealed her assumption this must've been another student, "What are you doing?" she asked, tying to keep her voice down but still gain his attention.

I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

Elio let out a squeak of surprise as he stumbled back his wand dropping to the floor, "nox, Nox!" he hissed as he scooped the wand back up, shoving it into his back pocket as he stumbled back he hit the shelf behind him. He watched, helpless as the crimson book fell backwards off the shelf probably sliding off somewhere, what was the spell? It started with A, aplico? damn it, it had probably slid underneath another shelf or something or fallen onto some study desk., if only he'd gotten here sooner or timed this better and he'd be in the Ravenclaw common room by now halfway through that dumb book. Elio scrunched up his nose, narrowing his eyes to peer through the darkness"I wasn-What are YOU doing"
Elio whispered in the direction of the voice, he straightened up folding his arms across his chest, only now seeing the girl in the corner. Trying not to look so guilty Elio puffed out his chest, "No ones supposed to be in here this late I mean its against the rules the prefects told me so, I-I'm just making sure no ones still here." Elio stammered out.
Yes, the perfect lie absolutely foolproof.

Illowy narrowed he eyes a bit as the boy dared to snap back at her. Unafraid, the girl came out from around the corner and approached him, "Well, I'm pretty sure people don't hide in books. At least not the last time I checked." she crossed her arms over her chest, "And I'm pretty sure no one in their right mind would send a first year out. After all, who would listen to some boy?" she questioned further, "Especially one that squeals like a little girl." she smirked a bit, leaning against one of the shelves.

The brunette looked him up and down as best she could through the darkness, her eyes trying to adjust to it, "You ought to be no further then the common room. You'd be smart to be there now." alright, so this may have been an instance of the pot calling the kettle black. After all, wasn't she as guilty as he was? The only difference was that she caught him and not the other way around. A big difference in her mind.

Also, at least she was there studying. What was so wrong with wanting to get in a little extra study time if it was difficult for her to do so in her dorm? Surely they wouldn't penalize her for that, right?

"Oh so I'm not allowed past the common room and yet you're still down here" Elio paused blowing a strand of light brown hair from out of his face he turned, swinging his dark cloak around with a huff as he began pushing through the books on the shelf behind him, "Whatever I don't need to explain myself to some stuck up Slytherin who..." Elio thought for a moment biting down on his bottom lip, turning his head to observe the notes on the parchment beside the book the Slytherin was reading. "-needs to study so late, you should really organise your time better I mean I don't blame you I wouldn't want to study in some wet dungeon."
Elio pushed two books apart, an encyclopedia of wand wood and another whose label was faded with age. Peering through them searching in the dark for a slice of red in the darkness Elio rolled his eyes, how hard was it to grab a book without having some random student breathing down his neck, back in his home country there was no need for books just word of tongue and yet now he had to walk around weighed down by countless textbooks and quills, I mean learning was great but were all these books really needed?

"Well, clearly if you can't be discreet enough to hide from me, then how are you going to hide from a prefect or a teacher?" she asked pointedly. The young girl did her best to suppress a chuckle as he stumbled through a comeback. All she could do was roll her eyes and try not to laugh, "And here I thought that Ravenclaws were suppose to be witty? I've met cats with more clever things to say." she smirked, "And I have no trouble finding time to study. Just so happens the girls were feeling rowdy tonight and I opted for someplace quieter." she told him matter- of- factly, watching him fuss around the shelves trying to find whatever it must've been that he dropped.

"What about you? What could you possibly need from the library that couldn't wait until morning? Unless... are you trying to steal something from the library?" she questioned, "For the love of all that is decent, that better not be what you're doing. I understand you might not be the brightest Ravenclaw there's ever been, but surely you have enough sense to know how utterly stupid that would be. "

How completely infuriating, she thought, and people say Slytherins are terrible ones.
