Someone huffed. "Why do we have to stand oot in the cold?" There's no doubt, it was rather chilly out, Colin thought. He looked around at the group. Liam was unperturbed. Of course. The two of them were used to being out in the cold. The voice huffed again in the gloom. Ciarán. The youngest McCoire sibling. She didn't like the cold.
"Whisht! She'll be along soon," Colin whispered hoarsely. Liam stifled a laugh, and brown paper wrapped package crinkled in his grip. Colin and Liam listened intently. Their --- victim --- would soon arrive! Colin smirked. Ever since the package arrived two whole days ago, he and Liam and Ciarán had hatched the plan.
"I don't exactly like the cold either, Ci," said another small voice. Lewis. Aunt Maureen's youngest son. A bonny and gay laddie, sure to bring delight and mischief where ever he roams! But right now, hiding in the courtyard, the pair of firsties were being troublesome. Colin rolled his eyes. Liam snorted.
"Will ye two shut yer gobs!"
"But---!" Ciarán giggled.
"But---!" Lewis giggled.
Colin risked a quick glance out the gateway that led to the school grounds beyond. He knew Lily liked to go walking by the lake. Well, who didn't! He and Liam had been down there for a run earlier this morning! His keen eyes caught sight of distant movement. "Liam," he whispered. His twin peeked out into the cold, leaning against Colin's back.
"Aye, that's her," he whispered.
"Lily!"
"LILYYYY!!" the two firsties cried out.
"Will ye two shush!" cried Liam and Colin together. "Ye'll give us away for sure!" Once Ciarán and Lewis settled down a bit, all the foursome had to do was await their quarry! And soon enough, the bundled up second year, wisps of red hair trailing over her shoulders, headed through the gateway and towards the door of the entry hall.
Colin nodded.
A rush of four sets of footsteps erupted from the nook where they'd been hiding! Cries of Lily's name rang across the stone paving and walls of the place! The McCoire kids surrounded Lily, Liam and Ci took her by the arms and guided her into the Great Hall; Colin and Lewis danced around cheering! The place was pretty empty, though some smiling faces looked on at the exuberant group. At last, they plunked down at the Ravenclaw table, with Lily in the midst, and Liam tossed the huge package onto the table between them.

Happy Christmas!
Lily had had a fun Christmas break so far. Her and her siblings had decided to stay at Hogwarts for the winter break. She had so far spent a lot of time in the Gryffindor common room so far this Christmas break and she felt slightly guilty not spending it with Colin, Liam, and Ciarán. And of course her little cousin Lewis. The two firsties were full of a lot of energy and Lily had fun with them. But her, Colin, and Liam were pretty close. The troublesome trio. The terror of Hogwarts...if people were scared of them that is.
On December 23rd, Lily got herself bundled up, cause god it was cold put there. Once she was properly dressed, she grabbed her back and walked outside to take her usual walk around the lake. She stepped out of the doors and headed toward it. She swore she heard her name and she glanced around, but she didn't see anyone. Lily made it halfway to the lake before her wonderful family surrounded her. Her dear little sister and one of her older brothers, Liam. She smiled in a bit of a confused way. "Hi guys." She was about to say something but they pretty much dragged her to the Great Hall and sat her down at the Ravenclaw table, sitting a big package on the table between them. "Okay...why are we sitting at the Ravenclaw table when the majority are Slytherins? And what's in there?" Lily asked looking down at the package then her whole family.

There were indeed several Ravenclowns sitting at various points along the table. Liam smirked at Lily's question. He knew exactly what Colin was going to say, and could easily imitate the snark in his brother's voice. Colin looked at Lily as he hopped up onto the bench and crouched down on it. Colin smirked at Lily's question. She was such a Gryffindork! "Lily. Obviously." Colin rolled his eyes. "We're Slytherins. We go where we please!" Liam snorted.
Colin laughed.
Ciarán poked at the package on the table. She looked it over, at last finding the label. "Oo, it's from Ma and Da! I know what that means!"
"Right?" said Liam.
"Right?" said Colin.
"Well, I've only helped pack these for you two the last two years! But this one's thicker!" said Ci excitedly.
"Go ahead Cail! It's addressed to you, lad!" said Liam. "Tear into it!"
Colin slipped his wand from its sheath on his right arm. This was one of his favourites: "Diffindo!" he said. He carefully sliced the strings that bound the package together. The paper wrapping fell open, revealing what was inside.
"Oo, there's a box from Seanmamó!" said Liam.
"Whoa, that means muggle chocolates!" cried Lewis. He was eyeing the box hungrily.
"Wait! That's labelled for Lily! Lily!" cried Ci. "Go on! Open it! See what kinds of sweets she sent you!"
Indeed there were boxes of sweets for each of them. Except Lewis. He seemed sad that he had none. Colin raised his eyebrow. "Doesn't Mamó send you yer own?" He nudged the younger Slytherin in his ribs. Ciarán raise her own eyebrow at her cousin. "Stop yer whinging when ye've got more down in yer dorm!"
All in all, the haul was pretty good! Colin looked over to Lily. "What did Ma send you, Lils?" asked Colin, eyeing the soft packet that had Lily's name on it.

Lily rolled her eyes at the twin boys in amusement. "You just say that. No one says anything against you." she gave the boys a cheeky grin. It was fun teasing them and definitely to push their buttons. She never pushed too far. She couldn't until Liam got his own girlfriend. She would never let him forget it. Never let him live without her teasing him at least once a day. Like she did with Colin.
Lily looked at the package with Ciarán and perked up as she said it was from their parents. "Well open it! What are you waiting for?" she said excitedly. Colin opened the package with magic and Lily leaned forward eagerly. Lily opened her sweet package and smiled in happiness at the rot- your- teeth goodness inside. "Oooo this is awesome. I can't wait to eat some!" She glanced at Lewis and pushed her package toward him. "We can share, Lewis. It is the season for giving." She said softly. She didn't mind sharing. Her parents had also taught her to always shere if someone else didn't have what she had. Lily always took it to heart because it was good advice. Lily took the soft package and opened it without magic again.
