Blossomfest The Lake Event

For quite a few moments Miko was frozen from what Rowan did but when he was finally called out to he seemed to snap out of it.

Wait.
Is that...

The Ravenclaw looked eerily similar, the same even, to someone he had met a while ago. Her name was on the tip of his tongue but he couldn't quite get it. All he could remember was it started with a C, or was it an S?

"Oh, er, comin' ye."

Miko pushed the cupcake which was offered to him back to Celynne and quickly hoisted Rowan up. He carried the other bridal style to the lake, thankfully he couldn't feel anyone staring anymore. Either that was the case or the people finally began to mind their own business. The Gryffindor male would most likely feel the heat radiating from the Hufflepuff which was completely body heat (and maybe some the suit made).

It seemed Miko carried Rowan with ease and that was also true but there was clear strain on his muscles which just made them more defined. His biceps were tense and the ab-things were showing more. The blush continued to grow more noticeable on his cheeks from carrying the other male over to the water, it no doubt made him quite flustered. How many days do you get to carry your crush shirtless?! This was like a privilege for Miko so he handled the Gryffindor with care almost as if he were glass.

"Ehm if I'm carryin' ye uncomfortably for ya just tell meh, eh?"

We could get killed! Or worse, EXPELLED

Blossomfest The Lake Event
Rowan squeaked softly as he picked him up, clinging onto Miko's neck, and leaning against him, as if scared the other male would drop him. He knew he wouldn't, but it still didn't counteract the fact that he was absolutely terrified of heights. Even though he was only a little higher than he usually would be, he didn't like someone carrying him, he deduced.  The fear was enough to over ride the embarrassment for now.

"This is fine. It's fine. You're doing great."

It was interesting though. Rowan barely weighted over 65 pounds, so carrying him wouldn't be a hard task. That and Rowan was already a furnace so they would be about equal body temperatures.

"Just um- set me down where it's not too deep to start?"

He looked down, glancing at a number of things. First, it was apparent how pale he was compared to Miko. It was like amber against snow. He tried to focus on that more than anything else, as it was fascinating. Though as shadows moved under the water, his gaze shifted. Seaweed? Both seaweed and tiny fish, he saw. Little flecks of silver darting through the water. As soon as he saw the water getting up to Miko's mid thigh he spoke up again.

"Just here I think.."

Cel replaced herself upon the lakeside, kneeling then sitting on the smooth stone bank, toes reaching down to skim the surface of the water again, white fabric shifting lightly in the wind. With one hand she reached out to placate the wheelchair as its inhabitant was lifted, though her efforts from her seated position were mostly superficial and unnecessary. Once the Gryffindor had vacated his seat, she leaned forward to watch, forearms folded across her thighs.

Query was raised; the girl decided on waiting until they reached the water before answering. "When you have a brother as... let's say energetic as mine, you learn to come prepared," she grinned with a tilt of her head, then lowered her voice: "Also I can't swim." Normally she would balk at admitting her lack of skill, but these two seemed to be fine people who wouldn't go about annoying her for it. Besides, these two should enjoy their time in the water by themselves, even if the distance to the shore wasn't so massive. She might leave, too, but she wasn't willing to give up her spot or her vigil over the towels. "Actually, the only reason I came here was to avoid over there—" Cel gestured offhandedly toward the dancefloor—"and half to annoy my stepmother." Eh... details were unimportant.

On the subject of watching two random shirtless guys, because someone wants to know Cel's reaction? Unfortunately for readers, not the most exciting one. The best word to describe it with would be eh. She'd probably read too many books and was too far down the gray-A zone to care. Sorry.

"How deep is the water?" Cel called while straightening her sandals on the ground, a waterfall of unruly hair falling across her face to seemingly purposely obscure her vision. When she looked up again, footwear safely out of lapping water's reach, to clear her eyes, her heart melted with a little aww. Maybe a little silly, she knew, but those two were  adorable.

interacting with Donnovan Perrywinkle and Jade Murphy
Ruka has been affected by the Veritaserum in the Punch
Ruka's eyes went wide as he watched his friend seemingly falling straight into a mental breakdown.
Donny was rambling and crying, his face hidden in his own lap, his body shaking and Ruka had no idea what any of it really meant. "Donny," he said carefully, kneeling down next to the Hufflepuff boy and putting a hand on his back, rubbing small circles into it to show some comfort. "It's fine, it wasn't your fault the squid attacked us. You put yourself into as much danger as you put me. And we both came out of it laughing, right?" He looked over at Jade with a question in his eyes. Of course he knew the kind of danger Donny was talking about when addressing him, but he couldn't help wondering what had happened for Jade to almost die. What had she saved Donny from?

It was almost a bit heartbreaking that Donny was Ruka's best friend and yet he hadn't come around to tell him about this life or death kind of situation that he had apparently been in.
"Donny, what are you talking about?" he asked his friend instead of waiting for Jade to explain. It wasn't the Hufflepuff girl's fault that Ruka didn't know what was going on and it really wasn't her job to talk about the things Donny had avoided talking about.

He took a deep breath, wrapping an arm around Donny's shoulders and squeezing reassuringly. "Come on, mate, it's alright, no matter what happened, everyone's alive and well!" He frowned a bit when Donny seemed to randomly add that he had stolen the bag of Bon-Bons they had shared, and it triggered something in him that made him blurt out: "I'm a bit of a pickpocket." He looked down at himself in confusion, not sure what had prompted him to say it but for some reason now he couldn't stop it anymore. "Sometimes when I got too hungry I'd steal some coins from people's pockets. I once stole an apple from a market, but it had a worm in it so that was Karma." He put a hand over his mouth to try and stop this apparent word vomit. "What I mean to say," he mumbled behind his hand. "Is that I really don't mind how you got that pack of Bon-Bons."

Interaction with Edric, mentioned Serena and Glen

Her vision has started to get blurry from the lack of Oxygen, and her feet weren't running in a steady motion anymore. Instead she almost tripped over a buried stone, catching herself just barely to not fall face first into the dirt. It was already getting dark, so she couldn't see exactly what was going on, when she suddenly heard a loud thump.

The big idiot she had been chasing for the last minutes was laying on the ground, covered in mud. Marcia slowed down, with a heavy smile on her face, when the thump was followed by a splashing sound, that made her freeze on the spot. She hadn't realized they were this near the lake, she couldn't smell the muddy water as she only tried to get some air into her lungs.

But it wasn't the fear that made her freeze, or at least it was only partly. With a shock she realized that it surely hadn't been a heavy stone that had just vanished in the damn Lake. "Me book!" she cried, looking for the guy. She had stopped running, and was holding her stinging side. Gone was her joy to see him in the mud. He had to pay. Just as she started to walk towards him, she could watch him rise like an ugly worm, who then turned to the other smaller figure. So far Marcia hadn't paid attention to who was here with her, all that mattered to her was to stop that idiot to get her book back. However, Marcia's eyes widened in shock when she recognized the small boy who got lifted up the air. "Edric?!" she mouthed barely audible for the others.

Edric would be no match for the other Slytherin. Why was he here anyway? she thought as she crossed the distance between the both of them.

She was still breathing heavily, and her feet felt like dead stones, but her anger towards the thief and destroyer of book and her fear for Edric's well-being gave her a push.

"Don't you dare!" She didn't think, she reacted. And her immediate reaction was to get the boy away from Edric; with claws and teeth of she had to.

Fortunately she knew what she had to do. She may was small, but she had a big brother and a Grandmother who would be damned if a boy would send her granddaughter on the back.

Marcia had only seconds to decide where to strike and how, and she chose not to use her wand, which was tucked under her left sleeve. No, she wanted to feel his bones break under her fist. With the motion of running she kicked into the back of his knee to make him go down.

"I said hands off!" The earth was muddy and she had trouble finding a good stance, but she managed to jump and get a hold of his neck and his hand. She would drag him down with her weight, so his height wouldn't help him. And she wanted to give Edric a chance to run. This just got personal.

Action: She kicks him into the back of his knee to make him loose stance and draggs him down with her body hanging on his neck.

Also getting that second post in, so this is a quick in and out to the cabins

Upon considering her plans, Mari thought that, maybe, going to the cabins was a bad idea. She didn't want to be antisocial, per se, just...the party was a little too much. She quickly detoured from the cabin path to venture to the lake, instead. Maybe she'd find some friends to share her punch and food with instead of just pretending that she had friends.

Creeping in the darkness, careful not to fall while she balanced juice and treats, Mari inched closer to the lake but did not quite emerge from the darkness. She analyzed the situation. Many voices were emerging from the lake; she heard a few fifth years splashing in the water, and if she was not mistaken, she also heard the voices of a few first years she was familiar with: the boy who had also been injured in the beginning of daemon Kaegan's attack, and Ruka, the boy whom she had recruited to help with Mum's task. There was a girl, too, it seemed, but to be quite honest, Mari didn't want to interact with either. She could imagine Lucy's disgust: A dance would be the perfect time to get your first kiss like me, Mari! she would say. But Mari didn't care. She'd never cared like Lucy. Her embarrassment at the memories of interacting with the two boys - not that either had seemed to have had a particularly bad interaction with her - far outweighed the benefits of talking to them in such an overwhelming social situation. Furthermore, it kind of seemed like the Hufflepuff boy was having some sort of fit, and Mari knew that two emotional students at a dance could easily be a recipe for disaster. Best not to interact.

She frowned and tried to look further, just making out the glint of a wheelchair. She couldn't really hear any of the words the figures were saying, nor really register who the voices belonged to, but if she was correct, wheelchair boy was also there. He had also been at the toilets that fateful day. Mari shuddered; could she ever escape something that seemed to be constantly reminding her of its presence?

No, she thought sullenly, awkwardly adjusting the drinks as they slipped in her grasp, I don't particularly want to be here...there's too much danger, here. This had been a bad plan, she had decided. She would resume her journey to the cabins.

Not noticing anything except for her thoughts (what else was new?) and never emerging from the trees, Mari turned and motioned to resume her original plan: heading to the cabins.

{ Interacting with Edric, Marcia, Alan, mentions Glen }
Everything happened so quickly. This peaceful day out was quickly turning sour. The boy that ran towards them got tripped over by Edric. Serena widened her eyes as she watched the scene unfold in front of her eyes. He landed in mud, throwing the object in his hands into the water. The Hufflepuff almost rolled her eyes and went to get the object. But she did not have time. Before she could even react, the older boy was back on his feet and started to threaten Edric. She had heard those very words before. Serena never really understood it though. It was usually followed by someone throwing their hands around, rather than actually kicking anything. Her own brother would say it before throwing his fist into another person's face.

Blinking, she suddenly realised that a small boy [ALAN] was standing next to her. She just blinked at him as he seemed to be questioning what was going on. Serena wanted to scream at him. Did he not see Edric being threatened in front of them?

But she could not say anything. From the other side, she overheard someone shout something about veritaserum. Serena could not quite recall what it was in the madness of everything going on but she had this feeling that whatever it was, it could not be good. Perhaps she was overthinking it. Maybe it was just something simple. Eurgh, why could she not recall it? Ahhh Edric!

For a few moments, the small Indian girl looked around trying to make sense of everything. She was quiet, trying to process everything. Her fingers started shaking but she did not notice. Gripping the pizza box that she was holding, she turned to the boy [ALAN] who had ignorantly asked her to explain what was going on, "Hold this!" She replied, not actually answering his question as she thrust the pizza box into his arms. Serena did not wait to see if he grabbed hold off it, she just hoped that he did because she was not a fan of wasting pizza. She should have answered his question but she did not have the time to. If he saw the direction that she ran in, he would see the fist fight breaking out in front of them.

As she moved closer, Marcia had caught up and started to reply to the older boy before she could. Unfortunately, she replied less with words and more with her own physical attacks. Serena shot a glance at the Slytherin boy that she was convinced was a Prefect [GLEN], wondering if he was going to help. She could only hope that he would. She no longer could threaten to give out detentions. That was not within her powers anymore, "Woah woah woah, guys, calm down," She started as she put her hands up trying to get the older boy to calm himself, "It was just an accident, he didn't mean to, let's just calm down," Serena continued. She spoke quickly, trying to calm the situation down before they all ended up in a fist fight, "We don't want to get in trouble 'cause of this, right?" She tried to reason with them. It was not worth getting into a detention, right?

Serena aimed her words directly towards the boy rather than Marcia. The girl was just trying to protect her housemate, she respected that. "Look, there's some pizza. You can have that, okay?" Serena bargained with him. Pizza distracted everyone, right? That would stop the fighting, right?

Blossomfest The Lake Event
Interaction: Marcia
It was a beautifully executed take down. Harry would be proud of me, Edric thought, for once happy that his brothers had roughened him up so many times during their summer holidays. Look, Harry, I'm not-

The older crashed boy crashed down at the shore, unfortunately hitting a rocky patch where multiple stones and rocks of different sizes marked the beginning of the Great Lake. Edric felt sorry for what he'd done immediately - because that must have been a really painful landing - but turned his head around an instant later when he heard a loud splash. The something the guy had been holding turned out to be a book, Marcia's book, and it had just hit the surface of the lake at a shallow part of the bank a few meters away.

He'd caused the student to drop Marcia's book. Into the Great Lake. Edric's amber eyes went wide. He hadn't meant to do that, he'd meant to help his friend.

Edric scrambled to his feet without thinking about it, drawing his wand and taking a step forward to do something, anything, to try and salvage his mistake. With a good piece of spellwork the book could be saved, he knew that. Adair was a Sixth Year and he was good at Charms. If Edric begged well enough he'd fix Marcia's book, make it as good as new.

He didn't get any further however, as suddenly - he hadn't been paying attention to him at all - the older Slytherin was standing in front of him, screaming, threatening him. The boy grabbed for his shirt, obviously intending to lift him up. He certainly was big enough for it. Strong enough, too. Edric didn't stand a chance, really.

Then suddenly Marcia was there, jumping at - what was his name again, Podge? - and clinging to his back. She was promising bloody murder. She was defending him, even though he was the reason her book was floating in the lake.

Edric was a coward. He couldn't fight to save his life and he knew it. He'd grown up with two older, bigger brothers, who'd always had the upper hand in any fight. The only things he knew how to do where running and hiding; just this time he couldn't do either. The P-guy was tall and broad and he'd beat small Eddy to a pulp without any problem.

But Marcia was clinging to his back, she was fighting for him, and while he had accepted years ago that he was a wimp, could accept that he'd get beaten for picking a fight with the wrong guy, the one thing Edric couldn't live with was being a shitty friend twice over.

A hand grabbed his collar, ready to lift him off his feet. Maybe to throw him in the lake, maybe to throw a punch at his face, maybe to hurl him at Marcia somehow.

Eyes or balls.

Edric was small. His reach was limited and he couldn't throw a punch worth shit.

Balls it was.

"Dos i grafu!" he snapped at the other Slytherin, struck at him feebly with his hands and pulled his right leg back to deliver a very angry kick to the young man's crown jewels.

"Oh. Well that's okay. You can wade in the water here if you want. You see how it's only a little above Miko's knees? It's not that high."

Rowan had started blushing slightly again, though that was just the little bits of normal pigment returning to his skin, so he was no longer white as a ghost out of fear. He looked back at Celynne over Miko's shoulder while he addressed her. Though upon seeing the 'aww' face, he looked away again, embarrassed. His father would so catch wind of this. There were too many pure bloods here for him to not know, and conservative pure blood children at that, so there would be a good collection of 'mum you won't believe what this Bane child was doing at the dance!'

"Um- but yeah. I guess annoying stickler parents is kinda fun sometimes."

He tied his hair back quickly, before he wrapped his arms around Miko's neck again, still not quite over his fears enough to let go for more than a few seconds. He was only slightly used to this, and his brain was more relaxed because they were no longer over land, and if Miko dropped him, he wouldn't crack his skull open, he'd only get soaked.

But he meant his words. It was fun to be rebellious from his father most times, though terrifying if he did it directly.

The girl grinned sheepishly, kicking her feet through the current a couple of times as she did so, at her admission. She'd never really felt the need to learn to swim, being so far from the coast for most of her life. If she'd known how to swim before the obliviation, well, that information was lost to her--even muscle memory, apparently, had been erased. But it wasn't as if she was afraid of the water or anything, only hesitant to reveal her lack of skill accidentally.

This would probably be okay, though.

With a dip of her chin and a short inhale despite the fact that it was unnecessary, Cel slid gracefully off the stone bank and into the water. Her nerves lit up anxiously with signals of cold cold cold, even as the water warmed, but soon calmed into normality. She was submerged from the hip down, being seventeen inches shorter than the mentioned Hufflepuff, and the ends of her dark hair just barely swept the surface of the lake before the girl's hands saved it from the water. A moment of hesitation, and she began to braid it quickly down her shoulder--she didn't intend to go much lower, but accidents did happen.

Her feet shifted in the lake bed below her as she finished the braid off, tucking it up within itself to keep it from unraveling. That didn't work, of course, and the end slipped back out in seconds, loose strands falling across her face, but it was still better than nothing. Her cover-up, which she had not deigned to discard on the shore, belled out in the water, white petals opening by the moonlight, but closed again as she pulled the fabric back in--that wasn't how you were supposed to wear those, she knew, but whatever. It was cold. She had towels for later anyway.

"Especially my stepmother," Cel responded thoughtfully. "I'm probably going to be murdered for this later, but sooner or later my brother will do something worse and she'll forget about me." In truth, Svana rarely yelled for long--it was a little difficult to castigate a child that wasn't yours with the ghost of her actual mother still haunting the halls, especially when you just met that child less than half a year ago. Interesting how Cel had adapted to her ways, though, just as her speech patterns adapted to her conversational partners. Miko's words were less rounded and elegant than Rowan's had  been the first time that she'd met each of them, so she settled for a middle ground--it seemed that Rowan had, too, his speech much more casual than she'd originally anticipated.
