Howie had never met Emma, well lucky for him. If it was one thing Aurelia could not stand, it was Emma... Emma and bright blue eyes. She was a vexatious person, annoying the crap out of her, that was just the nature of Emma. Blue eyes, a strange thing it was for Aurelia couldn’t understand, that something totally normal that could pull her down into a black hole of a panic attack as quick as a snap of fingers.

Before she went to Hogwarts, before she learnt how to harness and utilise the magic running in her blood, she was fine. She usually avoided the gazes of the blues, but if she happened to catch their eye, she’d simply feel the slight panic as she avoid gazes once more. However, as her magic grew stronger so did the anxieties. So into her first year, when potions were introduced, when she finally learnt the uses of the forgetfulness potion, she had brought it up to her parents saying it was the solution. They were skeptical but were willing to try it out, in order to help their Daughter. It had worked but at the same time, seemed to worsen her condition and these anxieties came more frequently than ever.

No harm. No physical harm of course, but mentally? Perhaps. Her parents knew the effects of potions, like medication if abused would become an addiction to drugs. They were concern and she understood. However, Howie who kept edging into the topic was worrisome that it had become rather annoying. Aurelia didn’t bother suppressing the scowl that formed her lips. He wanted something.

Of course it has negative impacts, almost every potion would have their own undesired effects.” She explained. “Spill it Howie, what do you want?” She asked very much straight to the point.

Howie’s eyes narrowed as she scowled at him. It was clear that he was striking a nerve and that she was losing her patience with him. The boy she once knew would have immediately apologized and either changed the subject or left the situation, but he was that boy no longer. Howie’s experiences had changed him deeply. The attack from the dementor had unlocked a part of his psyche...and it was potentially very dangerous.

It was this reason he had returned to Hogwarts and it was this reason that he was now badgering her for information. For his own mental sanity, and for the safety of the other students, it was crucial that he forget this part of the himself, and her mastery of the potion was of the upmost importance. Howie failed miserably in the subject of Potions, and there was no way to steal it. They boy didn’t have the funds to purchase it or the supplies to brew it. No, Aurelia was his only hope of ever getting to try it and for this he would have to find some form of payment. If she agreed, he would be in her debt.

Howie’s voice did not carry any anger, but it was firm, matching Aurelia’s expression. She was clearly done playing games, so he got right tot the point. “I want your potion Aurelia. I know you use it to forget something...and that is exactly what I need to do. I cannot provide you with extra funds, but perhaps we can strike a deal? A favor for a favor?”

The hufflepuff has stated he wanted forget, the reason Aurelia did not know nor would she attempt to find out. Suppose it explained his 3 month absence from school. These however, were only mere but probable assumptions. The Gryffindor had met many who intruded into her business, people like Emma, Alexx as well as Anastasia, and it was extremely pestering. Moreover, she was not comfortable with sharing her problems with them. She knew how it felt being pressured and with that, the prefect would not ask Howie for a reason to why he required such a potion.

A favor for a favor? Aurelia could not think of anything on her end to exchange for at the time being. Possibly, in the time to come she would require another’s assistance. After all, she was in not on very good terms with a handful students in Hogwarts and having someone else to back her up would be practically useful.

Regardless, she took a moment to think through the flaws that could happen if she were to agree with Howie’s deal. First of all, Howie most likely hadn’t an idea how to use the potion and many things could go wrong with that. Secondly, it put the Gryffindor Prefect’s position at risk if anyone knew she was not only abusing a substance but also dealing it to other students. But yet again, Howie seemed in desperate need of it somehow and all though the potion was far from the best solution, it was most likely one of the very few options a muggleborn like him had.

A favor it is then,” She finally said with much reluctance.

But,” She trailed, her gaze meeting in between his eyebrows once again.

I mustn’t be mention if a professor or another one of authority inquires about the potion. You must understand that I’m taking a huge risk in helping you.” She wishes she could glare into his eyes, show him consequential it was, but she couldn’t.

Howard’s arms would raise up in the air, as if surrendering. He did this to show that he was at her mercy. She held the power in this situation, and now that she had accepted his deal, he wanted her to know that he would not be a threat.

“I understand you’re terms Aurelia. Trust me, I cannot do this without you. If I were ever to be caught, mark my words, I will take the fall. You’re name will never come up. Let us shake on it.” He held out his hand.

And so, Howard had now become somewhat of an indentured servant to the Gryffindor Prefect. He meant his words as well. The boy was desperate for an escape from the tormenting nightmares that kept him awake at night, and the disturbing thoughts that consumed his mind during the day. Now that Aurelia would supply him the Forgetfulness Potion, he felt some sort of misplaced loyalty to the girl. Whatever the favor she would ask, no matter the severity or consequences that may follow, Howard would fulfill his part of their deal.

“As far as my payment, if there is nothing you need at this moment, do not hesitate to call on me later. And as far as your supply, when might we get started?”
