Closed Blue Skies and Clear Days PV Roman Ashenvale and Nellie Lam

As Roman launched into a monologue that at this point, Dennis could probably recite by heart since he heard it in the common room, Dennis gave Nellie a look as if to ask her for some help here. He wasn’t very good with…whatever that emotion was. Dennis didn’t do things that made him feel constipated, and this situation was an example of one of those times. He got the general understanding of what Roman was experiencing but he didn’t really ‘get it.’ Lucky, the always dependable Nellie picked up where he was hoping she would. She offered their new friend both encouragement and some insight that he wasn’t alone.

“Just because you come from the muggle world doesn’t mean the wizarding one has to be scary. I grew up in Edinburgh. Even though my mum and da are wizards, they really love muggles so much they rather live with them. So most of my life, aside from holidays and birthdays, was spent mostly there. For me the two worlds aren’t so different. I guess you can either focus on the differences or you can find comfort in the commonalities.”

Nellie mentioned finding friends and gave him a bump. He was definitely not going to let her get away with that. She finished speaking and then Dennis said, “For instance, snow is cold for both worlds!” Before he could kick up snow, Nellie beat him to it. The ginger Ravenclaw waved his arms around to clear the snow cloud and pointed to her, “We can’t let her get away with that!” Perhaps Roman would like to play with them.

Feeling kind of bad that he had begun repetitious while his constant monologuing, Roman decided to just sort of stop talking and listen to the others. Maybe he could do better by just not talking. After all, he was probably just embarrassing himself with his constant babbling and whining. He decided to just listen to them, hoping that his constant feeling of disconnection to the world he's in wouldn't make everyone just hate him more. Roman listened to the others talk about how they came from the Muggle world just like him, just from different circumstances. However, just as Dennis mentioned that the snow was still cold here in the wizarding world, Nellie had kicked up some snow into Roman and Dennis' faces. This triggered something... something he hadn't felt since his earlier years of Elementary. A playful desire. After hearing Dennis saying that they couldn't let her get away with that he simply smiled.

"Don't worry, I've been through this song and dance before." Roman says, diving into the snow and beginning to make some snowballs and even starting to make a small snow fort.
"Come on Dennis, there's only one way to go here, so let's get started!" This situation had instantly triggered something that he obviously hadn't felt yet since he got here at Hogwarts. He was working hard and already making progress on the small fort. He grabbed some snow off of the ground and after shaping it into a ball he threw it at Nellie, not even trying to aim as he was so focused into making the fort.
