While she and Cassius were having a patient and serene conversation down here on the bench, lots of things were happening simultaneously high up in the air. McCubbin seemed quite up to it, actively going for the Quaffle and attempting to score. She was obviously doing very well and being the queen of the field, and Lindsey clapped (“Go!”) when the red ball went right through the rings aside Team 2’s Keeper. In a blink of eyes the leaderboard went from 0 vs 20 to 30 vs 20, and Lindsey couldn’t help but contemplating on how things change in a mere few minutes. A turn of the tables. She liked it.

Quaffle grabs and scoring were normal procedures though, and everything on the field only became tense when the bludgers were in play (and the snitch, possibly, but your bones certainly wouldn’t crack because of that golden little fairy, would it?). Lindsey watched the opposite team’s Beater sent a solid hit to Lark, the latter striking the iron ball to Team 2’s Beater in return. Both targets fell, were caught, and second-strings were soon in play. Lindsey tilted her head slightly when the Blatchers swooped in, hoping to quickly get rid of her team’s the other Beater who thankfully was caught by Calister. “Well, that wasn’t a very friendly move indeed.” She murmured, half to Cassius and half to her own self. Quidditch was sometimes brutal, but…Lindsey sighed heavily.

And so one by one they fell, but the snitch wasn’t caught yet. So fingers crossed, everybody still had a chance.

"Whoo! That's how it's done!" Leon would exclaim. Did he feel bad? Not really. The other team start it, so he just saw it as fair game, right? Not like it's going to mount to anything, the game ends once someone catches the Snitch. Something he doesn't have the attention for.

What he does have the attention for is hitting things. There is something therapeutic about hitting a magical ball with all your might. Was there someone on the receiving end of where it ended up? Yeah but there's always that risk when playing around like this. He knows very well that with his inexperience, he could very well be the next one to bite the dust in this game.

But for right now, he will enjoy this time of riding on the broom with adrenaline running through his veins. Even in this state, however, he had to remind himself that he needs to pay attention to his surroundings. Defending his team would need to come first in order to ensure no stray bludgers come their way and they have a victory. Leon would fly around on his broom, looking for any potential dangers that might come up. Because yes, whilst he may be mischievous in nature, one can't be too careful in a sport like this.

Ulysses knew what he needed to do and gripped onto the Silver Arrow with as menacing look as ever until his eyes spotted a random Ravenclaw girl and Colin hovering closer to him. " Don't you even think about it, Colin! " Ulysses barked at the third year with his eyes narrowing themselves until the first year girl slammed into him hard and caused him to jettison off his broom with haste.

Rage bubble to the surface as his eyes locked onto the Ravenclaw, committing her stupid face to memory as someone he would get revenge on soon enough until he landed hard on one of the chaser's brooms. " Ugh. " The first year landed with a loud thump as he looked over at the chaser and gave her a nod in thanks. " Thanks for catching me, but if they wanna play nasty, they have another thing coming. "

His eyes noticed with his partner gone, there was another beated that was on their side. Uly could only hope that the Silver Arrow was okay, he definetly didn't have the money to pay for it back if for whatever reason it got destroyed.

Whatever happened next, Uly loved the thrill of Quidditch and was thankful to be back in the game he loved ever since he was a kid. It filled him with a vigor and helped release some of the pent up rage he often kept burried within.

Quinn groaned as the other team scored. Biting the urge to boo she cheered her team on.
"Oh no!" She shouted as the team scored twice more. Now there ahead of us! She thought.
"Come on Renelle!" Quinn yelled as Renelle cheated and had to do a penelty lap. Quinn buried herself into the bench, not knowing what to do. Her fellow benched team 2ians also looked a little annoyed. The other team had people sharing a broom which Quinn found interesting.
"I hope they both get knocked off." She muttered. Then at least her team would have an advantage.

Quinn started to blank out, the quidditch match was honestly... Kinda boring from the bench. Quinn wished she could realy just get up there and fly, play, do something to help her team. Quinn sighed heavely and set her attention back on the game. I hope our team wins. Astra still looks like she hasn't seen anything-but the other seeker is getting scarily close. Quinn thought. Quinn noticed some familiar people on the pitch but was not sure how to say hi. She, of course, had no intention of distracting any of them so really all she could do is wait for the game to finish. Quinn sat back and looked up at the field again.

The match was beginning to heat up and Cassius' attention was now thoroughly fixed on the pitch. "Is quidditch ever friendly?" He idly mused to Lindsey in reply to her comment. Even though it was an intramural, both teams were playing as if house points and glory were on the line. "With this ferocity some would even make fine additions to the duelling team." It had not been his intention in joining the intramural team; but now that he thought about it further, it was a prime opportunity to scout talent for the house duelling team. Broom skills were perhaps not directly linked to duelling skills, but much of what it took to be a good quidditch player was transferrable to duelling. Determination and a fighting attitude paramount amongst them.

From his position on the bench, he focused his attention on individual Ravenclaw players. He recorded mental notes on who performed well and who fell (no pun intended) short of expectations. All he was missing was a clipboard and a quill and he'd fulfill the look of a talent scout. Maybe a bowler hat too though he was a bit too young to pull off that particular look. Or was he? There was something to be said about classic style. Perhaps he would have a word with his family tailor when he returned home for the holiday break. Until then, there was still a quidditch match to watch.

"How have your duels fared?" He asked Lindsey as two players fell from their brooms but were caught, saving them from otherwise unfortunate fates. "Any chance you will also make the jump to the captaincy?"

When the round started I got confused as AngelFyre was the only one going for the quaffle. It seemed that Team 2 had other plans. I was happy of course because she scored three times making it 30-20 but now I had a bad feeling about what the other team would do to my teammates. I saw one of the other team's chaser attempt to blatch one of our beaters Ulysses and succeeded. Ref! That was a clear foul! Thankfully a falling Ulysses would be caught by one of our chasers. I think. She hasn't done much in the game until now. Renelle now had to take a penalty lap around the field and that was it. They ought change the rules as some fouls should get something more severe than just a penalty lap.

One of our beaters knocked out their keeper but then proceeded to get knocked out herself. One well the second string gets a chance, I suppose. Now this round was all sunshine and rainbows for Team 1 but I couldn't help but feel a bit worried that I wouldn't get to play. Our chasers don't seem to be going out of the game anytime soon. Oh yeah, the snitch hasn't been caught yet but I didn't see anything.

In scanning the pitch to judge the state of things, Ruby’s gaze settled on the other team’s Seeker, whose movements were starting to seem awfully goal-directed. Had she spotted the Snitch…? Abandoning the Quaffle game in favor of dealing with something more critically important in this moment, Ruby sped in the Seeker’s direction. It seemed someone else had noted the girl’s progress, too, though—one of the Seeker’s teammates seemed to be going for an Alley Oop. Trying to predict their trajectory, Ruby flew at the Seeker, locking broom handles and driving her off course. "Woah! What the heck?!" “Oops. Didn’t see you there,” Ruby called back flatly, a blatant, unapologetic lie. In an instant, the Slytherin was flying away again with a laugh.

She glanced at Koko—being her friend likely wouldn’t prevent her fouls from being called—but it seemed that the move had taken place so quickly that the other sixth year hadn’t even seen it. Oh, that was just too good. A smirk flashed across her face, the lack of penalty only adding further to her satisfaction. Nevertheless, regardless of her own success, her team’s standing was still precarious. They had knocked a couple more people off their brooms—one of whom was caught by another player—but had lost one of their own, and the lack of competition for the Quaffle had left them behind 10 points. Still, it could go any way from here. She just hoped her team’s Seeker could find the Snitch soon.

In the role of Chaser when you attempt to catch a passed Quaffle (such as when the Keeper has possession of the Quaffle and passes it to a teammate) you have advantage (meaning that it is rolled twice and you keep the better option) on attempts to catch if the opponent team attempts to intercept.
In the role of Chaser, as a free action if the user of this broom is successful in the quafflegrab they can as a free action pass the Quaffle to another user in an attempt to score. There is a chance of the quaffle being intercepted, however due to the fact that the user is "so fast" with the quaffle this would be considered "surprising" and the attempt to score would be done at +3 accuracy by the player it was passed to in an attempt to score.

Note: The attempt to score would be an automatic attempt by the user that catches the passed quaffle.
In the role of Chaser, if you have a contested quaffle grab and a contested strength roll between yourself and another user is in progress, unless they have the same broom, you would be the victor of the contested quaffle grab. In addition, rounds where you are successfully carrying the quaffle in an attempt to score, you only take half-damage from bludgers and blatching attempts.

The Quaffle

Once again, the Quaffle was neglected. Koko watched, intrigued, as AngelFyre and Colin battled it out. The younger Slytherin truly had mettle ─ after this, Koko told herself she'd have to remember to ask him why he hadn't joined the Quidditch team. Somehow, the light-haired boy had managed to score so quickly ─ whoa. He quickly snatched the Quaffle away from AngelFyre again, and Koko had to admit she was impressed ─ very impressed. She felt bad for Simon, having to go up against Colin, the absolute menace (in a good way) of a Chaser that he was. However, Simon did block once, at which Koko applauded. He was a solid Keeper, especially for someone who didn't play Quidditch.

The Snitch

Snitchy business wasn't going so well. Poor Astra scoured the skies, but she honestly didn't seem to have a clue what she was looking for anymore ─ not that Koko knew, of course, having never been a Seeker. Nonetheless, the golden orb would be nowhere to be seen. It must have been infuriating.

Raizel wasn't faring much better, aside from the fact that, well, she had seen the Snitch. Now it was just a matter of grabbing it, and the Snitch seemed to have other plans. As Raizel's oustretched fingers seemed to get ever closer to the tiny, evil orb, it fluttered just out of reach, dancing away from her until it was finally further away than it had been before. Maybe there was something wrong with it, Koko thought.

The Bludgers

The Beaters were, without fail, out for blood. Every time Koko thought the game might get less dangerous, a bludger went hurling through the air, often slamming into some poor, unfortunate soul. It seemed Leon Richardson would be put to the test, and as Harmony Hollins slung a bludger at him, he deftly evaded. That evasion was definitely something to be proud of. But he wasn't done! He flew near Ophelia, and they combined their strength to hurl a dangerous bludger at Raizel... except she was just too good at dodging. Maybe Leon hurled some of his evasive ability at her alongside that bludger. Whatever the case, Raizel nimbly swerved out of the way. She might not have gotten the snitch, but at least she still had her consciousness!

Maybe the Beaters were out for blood, but the bludgers just weren't having it. Or, well, something like that.

The Blatchers

No one could say that Koko was a blind referee. She watched with the eyes of an eagle! At least, that was what she told herself. She watched, eyes wide, as the one and only Ruby Cazares flew with a straight trajectory at Ulysses Drake and March Calister. Her eyebrows raised as she observed. She knew Ruby, and while she wished she could say the girl would never stoop as low as cheating, she knew that wasn't true at all.

She had to stop herself from muttering, 'Don't do it, Rubes,' because everyone in the Pitch would be able to hear it from the results of her Sonorus. When Ruby did perform the foul, Koko would seem to deflate a little as she let out a short sigh. She understood, she really did, sometimes you had to do bad things for the greater good. But she also highly doubted that Ruby had blatched them 'for the greater good'.

She watched sadly as Ulysses was caught by Alyssea (would they now be Ulyssea? Ulyssessea? The world may never know). March, however, fell out of the sky. 'Ruby. Penalty lap.' Her voice was probably not as stern as it should have been. She likely sounded a bit more resigned, maybe tired, maybe slightly disappointed ─ but surely not angry.

Alyssea would live to see another round but one of her fellow chasers wouldn't. She tried quaffle-grabbing once and found she had no chance against the other team's chasers. So, she was doing everything else but that. Not that chasers had very much to do aside from quaffle-grabbing, saving, and cheating. Alyssea knew she could never cheat; she hadn't learned how to do it cleanly yet. At this point, she'd been across the field, alley-ooping Raizel to propel her towards the snitch (which failed) and now she saw two people falling from the sky and dashed to save them.

It wasn't a great decision to make, honestly, having to choose between her fellow chaser March and remaining beater Ulysses. If only her broom was big enough for all three of them. She flew towards Ulysses and caught him, watching as March fell into Pericles' slowing spells. At least the fall wouldn't hurt as much. The points were back to being disproportionately against them but kept her fingers crossed with the hope that Raizel would catch that snitch soon.

For now, she turned to Ulysses and awkwardly looked to the side. "Well, at least we know who they're after. Have you ever considered learning how to dodge?"

"Oh, hello, Pericles." "Hello Bex." "5 stars on Yelp, exceptional service. Would fall here again." Well, those were certainly words, but the pureblood wasn't sure they meant much. Maybe he ought to double-check her head. "Put me back in, coach, I can still play." "Sorry dear, I'm afraid that's not how Quidditch works. You seem to have broken a rib- you and the other two knocked from their brooms. Isn't that a funny coincidence?" Hogwarts was the type of place where breaking bones could be a bonding experience.

On a knee alongside Becca, Pericles glanced to the sky between stowing each of his potions. The Slytherin kid raised their score until it more than doubled their opponent's. Although Astra hadn't seemed to spot the snitch yet, at least Raizel hadn't caught it. The enemy Seeker evaded all bludgers, but one of their players was blatched, forcing them to share another broom. He couldn't help a small smirk as Ruby played rough, even though this time she was put on penalty for it. Peri's wand arm snapped outward with a quickly incanted "Arresto momentum" aimed at March, trying to prevent him from colliding with the earth. He spoke sideways to Bex in the process. "Do you know the Slowing Spell? If you do, and you're feeling up to it, you should take over. It's good practice." Much like levitating her eyeball at the breakfast table was a good chance to stabilize his hand. Magic users had to be opportunists to hone their skills, which commonly meant casting spells at each other.
