	----- Avery watched as the three of the duellists slung spells that narrowly missed their marks. The game of inches was being played, and it was an extremely small margin by which each bolt of arcane energy whizzed past their marks. Ming’s bolt was particularly powerful, and as it left the wand it split again into two equally cacophonous blasts that each deafened their targets with a sucking thwump as they zoomed past and struck the enchanted walls. Likewise, Vale’s strike against Ying, and Ying’s strike against Vale missed one another as each side erred on the side of caution. Avery Chen was the only duellist on the piste to hit his spell. For the first time in the entire duel, a successful spell was cast from his part of the piste, proving to his peers that he was a student worthy of attending their prestigious school. Leveret raised a single brow, as he contemplated if that was all the other Avery could muster. Surely there was something else in him? “Come on Chen.” He encouraged, gesturing him on; Ming was open, and barely standing; and part of him wanted the muggleborn to be floored by his friend that hadn’t duelled a day in his life. Ming was left laughing, but barely standing…

Ying was taken by surprise and a sense of wariness seeing Vale's sudden reaction and the harsh words thrown towards the stands. The young Gryffindor's eyes follow the direction of Vale's strange irruption but she couldn't find the target of it. Ying narrowed her dark eyes towards the Slytherin girl with a mix of concern and suspicion, maybe all the hit spells were doing that? Perhaps the girl was really injured and in need of help? She looked at the others looking to find some answers in their expressions but non seemed to have payed much attention to it apart from Chen. And the boy only chose to give her some encouragement instead of reaching out to have a closer look at her. That made Ying feel a little more at ease with the situation, she wasn't able to perform any healing magic yet, and perhaps it would have been smarter if they had at least one more qualified person watching over their duel...but since Chen seemed to know Vale very well, she felt relieved not to see more explicit concern on his part, it was probably a sign that it was not far of her usual behavior. Which would lead to more worrying questions... but it wasn't really her business, at least not at that moment!

Mings words tho, meant everything to her. She wouldn't show how much they made her feel proud of herself, she simply nodded at her brother with a small smile and turned her focus again towards their opponents. It all happened again in the matter of seconds. Flying bolts of colorful magic crossed the piste from one side to another. The only novelty was that Chen's spell finally hit its target and... it was painful! Her Flipendo flew towards Vale once again, but hit the adjacent wall. Ying had to turn on her heel at the last second to evade the other girl's spell aimed at her this time Finally! Someone was targeting her and not just her brother. He definitely had enough, especially that round, "You okay Ming?" She asked him in a whisper leaning closer to her brother, "Hang in there, one more round and this is over!" Ying said encouragingly. Her wish was to get him out of there immediately and run to the hospital wing, but she had the feeling that he would never forgive her for even suggesting that, so her only solution was to try to help him find his strength through her words and showing him that she was still there fighting at his side and there's no universe where that would be different.

Being hit with the tickling charm for the first tie was quite the novel experience. It started in his belly, a tingling, bubbling sensation; building and building, before bursting out in an eruption of giggles. Ming grips his wand tightly, attempting in vain to retain control and subdue the effects of the spell as well as the accompanying sheer mortification resulting from the undoubtedly embarrassing display he was putting on from devolving into a helpless pile of giggles and laughter.

But is resistance was to no avail.

The edges of his vision start blur, as tears of "joy" start welling up in his eyes; his breathing hitching and turning into uncontrollable bursts of snorts and guffaws. Worse, the intrusive feeling spreads, threatening to overtake his entire body -- tickling his nose, his toes, the back of is neck, entire body.

There is an edge to his continuous laughter, his snorts turning into helpless gasps as his laughter is weaponized against himself. Time stretches and contracts, and Ming finds that his mind -- much like his vision -- is a jumbled mess, overtaken by the relentless tides of his own laughter.

The laughter, but oh! the laughter! It would not yield.

But then, neither would he. He could survive this, and he would endure.
