Blossomfest The Lake Event

Interaction with Ruka Tan and Donnovan Perrywinkle

Jade stood next to Ruka looking around at the Lake trying to find an empty space. "Hmmm, I think I see a nice space, but I should go check first, we wouldn't want to loose some of those pastries for nothing. Be right back"   Jade asked said.

Jade placed her glass next to Donny, there was no-where to put the cupcakes, so Jade just held them in her arms as she started off. Jade went to the right of where they were. She came across a large group of students, they were being very loud and all-together chaotic. Jade decided this wouldn't be a good place to go.

On her way back Jade couldn't help but to eat a cupcake, she was just too hungry. As Jade took a bit she immediately regretted it. She had gotten ear-wax, Jade pulled a face as she neared Donny and Ruka. Jade looked for somewhere to spit it out but she couldn't find anywhere. As she came up to Donny and Ruka she swallowed, shuddering from the taste that still lingered in her mouth.

"Well, I defiantly wouldn't recommend going that way, it's pure chaos. I think we should either stay here, as this is a rather nice place, or go to the left and see if we can find a nice spot. Also, those cupcakes are cruel, I was expecting strawberry or something like that, but instead I got Ear-wax" Jade said with a final shudder.

Since I have only one post and am not able to officially make a post on the cabins, I will add my second post here. I hope this counts. Aurelia had entered and left the thread.

Before arriving at the cabins. Aurelia took her time making her way there. The bunks were quite a distance away and she had all the time in the world. It was almost impossible for a 13 year old to walk at a normal pace with heels on but the daring brunette continued her stroll along the shore of the lake, the sandy grounds like the grass and rock was not easy to manoeuvre on.

Then she heard laughter at a distance of likely more than half a dozen students. Letting our a soft exhale of a sigh, like the responsible prefect she was, she went to check it out. On the shore sat some students some standing. A few were prefects and there was also an ex-head girl in the group. They seemed to be simply hanging out and talking and having non-breaking rule fun. Aurelia did not have a reason to intervene, nor did she want to. There was no rule breaking, just some students having fun until... one of them plunged into the lake with a splash.

The last case she dealt with in the abandoned bathrooms was already too much for the new prefect and so she was reluctant to manage this. It was against the rules for anyone to swim in the lake. However, Aurelia had not move, there were prefects there. Of course, they weren’t doing their duties. Wrong. There were prefects there, it was their problem if they choose not to fulfil their duties. If a professor were to stumble across the lake, it would be their problem. Aurelia would not deal with this.

Turning, she continued her path down to the cabins.

Howard walked along the waters edge, watching the light from the Moon and the stars reflect and shimmer off the black surface of the lake. In his hand he held onto a bottle of butter beer, two more were stashed away in his robe pockets. Stupid fifth years, serves them right for leaving their stash unattended. He risked punishment once again by skipping the Blossom Ball, but the boy would rather be anywhere else this evening. Looking around he would spot small groups of others who shared his sentiment.

It was a bitter sweet memory he had of the event last year. Images of bouncing red curls and and a first kiss would flash through his mind. It was amazing how much could change in just a years time, how much someone could change. With a large pull off the bottle, Howard would chuck the spent container into the water as he wiped the thought from his mind.

Howard removed the other bottles from his pockets, shrugging his shoulders back to allow the robes to fall into a pile behind him. Placing the beer onto the ground, he removed his shoes and socks, then rolled up his pant legs. He bent down and swiped one of the bottles and with a few steps, he plunged his feet into the water. Howard would not swim, he couldn’t if he wanted to, for he had never learned. However he did enjoy the way the cold water felt against his flesh. Cracking open the second beer, he took another long drink. With a belch, Howard dug his toes into the muddy lake bottom and stared up to the stars, content to spend the evening alone.

Interacting with the trio, Ruka Tan and Jade Murphy!

Donny was sulking into a conversation with Ruka when Jade went to find a better place for the trio to relax. "Any place would be better really." Donny muttered, turning around as if to answer Ruka's burning questions. "Well..." Donny said, resuming into his thoughts about Ruka's questions. "I might not go into too much harsh detail if you want me to..." he said, not trying to put attention on his pessimistic self, which was quite hard seeing as he'd had quite the battle scars from the event in which Ruka spoke of. "But." he replied shortly, making Ruka blink momentarily at him. Just then, without hesitation or regard for his friends sanity, he pulled up his shirt and showed him the wound.

This was the wound that the infamous Kaegen Deathmote had given him only days ago in the abandoned toilets, which he wasn't going to get into much detail with either. The wound was just under his Delicate rib cage that was quite see-able under his tight, skinny brown skin. It was still black and blue with bruises, and had a messy line about seven inches down in height, and two inches in diameter. "Well. That's why I don't like to be around him. The monster. Because of things like these." he said, throwing down his shirt once more, and resting his hands under his face, which were softly over his knees. "I just don't want you guys to pity me... let's, have a good time." he said, a finalizing tone hinted in his voice as he looked up at his two, innocent friends.

Miko walked out the building to the lake, almost in a strut. Rowan followed close behind him but the boy didn't focus on that, he was confused how truthful the other male had been after the punch.

It seemed strange seeing as he usually thought the Gryffindor was a more edgy and 'hide-all-the-emotion' type which seemed to be thrown out the window after a sip of the punch. Not that he was complaining about being called hot or anything but it was just a tad strange. He already planned to go the lake after the dance thing and the music sounded pretty bad from over here so he just wore it under his suit.

Apparently to Rowan he would look better in a different suit but that didn't matter because who swims in a suit? Swim suits are a thing but nah!

The Hufflepuff nodded as he looked around, casually taking off all layers except his swim trunks which went to the top of his knees and were yellow with red and orange flames around the legs. He had distinct scars all over his back, chest and stomach area with yellow-green bruises on his chest which made him look exactly how he looked in the hospital minus all the IV's hooked up to him. Fun.

"Hope ye brought ye swim suit eh? If not just swim in yer boxers er whateva yer wearin' down there."

He gestured to Rowan so the other knew Miko was addressing him and not any other random teen around them. Great, his Scottish accent was getting thicker and less understandable now, how fun! Hopefully Rowan could understand Miko or it would get pretty confusing pretty quickly.

Ruka watched as Jade went off to find a good space for them, giving her a greatful smile before turning back to Donny who looked as grim as he had ever seen him.
He was about to tell his friend that he didn't need to answer his question when Donny pulled up his shirt to reveal a big, black and blue bruise under his ribcage, like he had been kicked in the same spot multiple times.
Ruka gaped at the wound, blinking his eyes a few times as if to make sure he wasn't imagining it. "Crap, Donny," he said huskily, taking a step towards his friend. "Who did that to you? Have you been to the Hospital Wing?" He wasn't sure who Donny was talking about, who the Monster was or what had happened for Donny to end up hurt like this, but he was worried for his friend.
If Donny was wounded and scared to be around certain students, well, a teacher had to know, right? Whoever did that needed to be expelled, no?
However, Donny's tone was final, like this wasn't a big deal and he didn't want his friends to make one out of it.
Ruka sighed a little but nodded his head, turning his attention to Jade who had scouted the location a little bit. "Let's just stay here then," he suggested, shrugging his shoulders. He walked to a nice patch of grass and slowly sat down, placing his selfmade cupcake holder on the ground next to him along with his punch. Together with Jade's cupcakes they definitely had enough to go around.
He laughed a bit when Jade told them that she had gotten Ear Wax flavour in her cupcake, and daringly reached out for his own. "Let's see how bad these really are then," he said before taking a bite. At first, there was not much taste at all, then he smiled at the other two, a sparkle in his eyes. "Don't know what you guys are complaining about," he said, washing the cupcake down with a bit of punch. "It's a perfectly fine pumpkin flavour!"

Blossomfest The Lake Event
@Serena Towers was the first to arrive at the lakeside. She was all alone, a dangerous choice considering the peril she knew all too well in Hogwarts. People could not be trusted. The encroaching darkness threatened her. Being alone might have ameliorated her anxiety but it left her exposed and vulnerable, she just did not realize it. There were others in theory, a few students in a different year  wading into the lake, sipping on butterbeer and acting as if it was vodka. They were careless and carefree, unprepared and not the least bit paranoid. They were not watching out for Serena, they were not even watching out for themselves.

The lake was a lovely thing, so big and so clean. The fiery heavens were reflected as if being viewed in a faintly rippling glass plate. The sounds of revelry in the background, muffled sounds of music and chatter. It was enough to obfuscate the sound of approaching footsteps. Or in the case of @Edric Banes the sounds of running or @Glen Pope's footfalls as he trudged through water before finding the stony, moist shore with his feet. The crunch of earth beneath Glen's shoes and the rustle of grass beneath Edric's feet only added to the cacophony of sound that distracted and disabled ones most basic defense -- their sense of sound.

Everything seemed as if it was going to go 'right' for once. There was pizza and pleasant enough company. While Serena and Edric would not know any of the students already gathered here for a bit of early spring wading and relaxing, they seemed more than willing to share their pizza bounty with a hungry lower year. This was so much nicer than a ball with fancy clothes and bad music, awkward stares and an invisible line between genders.

This moment of potential blossoming friendship would lead to turmoil as it often had. Through a series of mishaps and circumstances that the universe had woven together in its infinite complexity, a Slytherin boy would be seen dashing towards the shoreline. In his wake a smaller, feebler girl shouting and huffing to relinquish what was hers. This was how boys flirted, even in the third... fourth and probably even fifth years. An extended leg and Banes had intervened, ending the effective means of garnering @Marcia Kingsleigh's attention. He would trip over Edric's foot and sail a few feet, after all the boy was running full speed and then land on his palms and knees on the rocks. The book would fall out of his hands, into the shallow waters of the lake.

"Dude!"

The irritated whateveryear complained, his palms scraped and his pants were ripped near the knees. He brushed his hands off on his pants, little rocks would fall off. He looked mad. In fact he looked like an excuse Solomon might roll an 18 over.

"I am going to kick you skinny little ass!"

It looked like an incident of bullying had now turned into a bigger, older, stronger student taking out his embarrassment and frustration on the younger, smaller student. He was stronger, faster and likely better at magic. Edric was... well, he could run pretty fast. Likely almost as fast as Serena, if he tripped her too maybe even faster.

Edric was not going to be able to run away. The irate Slytherin was going to take his blood-tithe from Edric. He would attempt to grab Edric by the collar of his shirt and heave the boy with a single arm into the lake. A demonstration of his strength for the fair yet unfortunately bookish Marcia as well as a chance to show who was dominant in this situation.
Yes, you are now in a fist fight.
A group of first years would arrive and like the second years the first years would start to form their own little group as they self-segregated. @Donnovan Perrywinkle being the first to arrive, he had chosen a large rock near the water's edge to sit on. Donnovan and the other first years had a different experience than the second years entirely. It was hard entering a community that has already formed, friendships and bonds were already made between the older kids and while there was always room to make new friendships for some the amount was likely finite or they were creatures of habit keeping to the same patterns. It left the newcomers feeling isolated and alone, but there was comradity in this state of isolation and a sense of still trying to find where one might belong.

@Ruka Tân would meander over. The awkwardness of the later years physically exploring one another, albeit from a distance, still limited where one might want to go. While this year was far less traumatic than the last thus far, it did not mean that he needed to have -those- images seared into his memory of this year. There was an obvious closeness between the two pre-teens, it went deeper than the punch they had consumed at the lake. The punch was laced with Veritaserum, a potent truth serum that was heavily regulated and monitored by the Ministry of Magic. A bit overdone for a joke. How did some kid come across a potion like that anyway?

The legend of @Kaegen Deathmote would be passed on as a verbal legacy. That of a boy that was dangerous. A boy capable of inflicting wounds that at seven by two inches on Donnovan's skinny frame would look as if the attack near cleaved the boy in half. This would be a revelation that Jade would have missed but not every girl thinks scars are cool and even if she did she was too young. No looking at scars on boys until she can date them and of course she can start dating once she is married.

@Jade Murphy was the last to arrive to the first year gathering. A bit awkward, she had not yet found her place. The guys accepted her sure, but did she really accept herself. She was a nice girl, potentially an ambassador of goodness to some although that might turn out to be a cruel joke by a second year. Her efforts were akin to being of service to others than being their peer. Perhaps it was utility that she needed, to be useful to someone. She needed more than casual acceptance, she did not seem to be able to accept it. Rather than join the boys at the lake's edge and discuss the concept of hate while the sun set she wandered off to find them a better spot to perch upon.
Note: Those of you who have drank the punch are effected by Veritaserum for the next in character hour from the time you consumed it. This gives you a bit of fluidity in regards to how long this lasts for you as an RP tool. As for the potion in the punch, it denatures also within about three hours total. The concoction is rather delicate .
@Aurelia Bezuidenhout  a Second year and a Prefect of Gryffindor and she had decided to abandon Blossomfest.  She had also decided to abandon the informal gathering that was forming along the shore of the lake. The Prefect had a permanent stick up her... well, you know where. She was probably coughing up splinters at this point but she had a purpose and that purpose was not here, these troublemakers got a free pass... this time.

She would not be stopped but there was also something very very wrong. She had rushed right past it and had not even noticed. While the students were enjoying their time carelessly at the lakeside, there was someone watching from the treeline. There was something unsettling about his or her silhouette. It was not a shadow or a specter, a glint of white, their eye as it hit the fading twilight light would have been all the proof she needed. But she did not stop, she did not notice, perhaps she did not even care. She had other places to be and this time whatever went wrong was going to be someone else's problem.
Yeah, multiple people have posted in between. 2 posts were done. Have at it. She has LEFT TOPIC.
@Miko Limof with presumably @Rowen Bane would enter last. Rather than simply look at the lake, Miko was astonishingly well-prepared with a pair of swim trunks under his suit planned on engaging the icy water. How his friend in the chair would enter the water, well that was likely going to be an adventure of its own. The punch consumed had given Miko a bit of insight into Rowen. It was one of the boons of this dangerous potion, however with the truth also comes great risk. Honesty is not something everyone wishes to hear, is willing to hear, or would hear. There was fortune in the fact that the truth here might have brought them closer rather than driven them apart.

Of course things were probably not easy for either of them. They came from different worlds, while there might not have been a lack of love or pride in either of their families for Miko there was a distinct lack of wealth and pedigree, a sense that he was an outsider. It was something that was likely hard for the boy to deal with, at least when he compared himself to the pure bloods who flaunted their wealth and their lineage as if it was a badge of honor. It was probably something he resented them for. Rowen, on the other hand, might not have lacked for health, beauty, grace, or an honored line but he was not like most boys. Not physically. Internally there was no difference, not really. The same urges and the same wants. The same insecurities and the same desire to want to fit in. Something that the pure blood might be forced to compensate for so that one could see beyond the surface, that outer shell and that product of a visual assessment. Yet for as much as each lacked and possibly even yearned for, if this became a friendship or something more it was very likely that together they would be stronger and better than either would be on their own. The sum of the parts is always greater the whole.

@Howard White had become a loner. Adrift in a sea in the midst of a turmoilous storm. He was once a meek, gentle soul. A year ago his interactions were tender and kind. His ambitions were simple. In all honesty he fit the stereotype of a Hufflepuff. Was that his truth back then and had he simply fallen from grace? A bottle of luke warm butterbeer was brought to his lips, the contents were a trifle stale but there was a heat that ran down his throat and settled in his gut. A soothing warm that seemed to quell the fire that burned in him if only for a moment.

Howie should take care, consumption deprives one of their inhibitions and the Hufflepuff was spiraling down a dangerous path. His features had hardened, he had transformed into something almost unrecognizable. Some of the teens that were enjoying the ice cold water noticed him and the beer he had liberated from their stash. Howie had never been to a kegger had he? The beer was communal, it was like a potluck with a bit of a deviant undertone. One of the third year students would call out to Howard, "Hey you!" It was some girl. OK, there were a few girls and a few guys gathered in the lake in a place that was about waist deep.

"If you can have our beer you can join us!" One of the guys called out. A genuine smile, a friendly wave. They actually seemed like nice people. A lot nicer than Howard. Perhaps this was the universe attempting to provide Howard an oppertunity to turn back, to alter his course. He was barreling down a dangerous and a dark path rather quickly.

"C'mon dude!" One of the girls called out. "Kelli thinks your cuuuute~!" there was then a squeak and a splash as assuredly 'Kelli' knocked the other girl into the water.
Since you are on your own until you make friends or beat them up, I will be your friend. How sweet am I? BUT I am also rolling in the roll chat, so I also might be trying to kill you. Just another Tuesday for you anyways. But no worries, you rolled great. I am certain nothing will go wrong.

Blossomfest The Lake Event
Rowan froze. He just... tensed up and watched Miko for a long moment. Taken aback, yes. Impressed, yes. Stunned, also yes. However sad as well. Sad for the fact that Miko was bruised. But also sad because...

“I don’t... I don’t think I can..”

It wasn’t a ‘he couldn’t swim.’ He could before the accident. He knew how to. But he hadn’t tried since he had become wheelchair bound. Oddly enough, he had come prepared for it though. He hadn’t thought of the possibility that he couldn’t either, until now.

His face had fallen a little as he gestured to himself.

“I have swim trunks under but.. I didn’t think until now that.. I can’t...”

He shook his head a little and tried to pep himself up again. It was a party! They’d have a great growing season and all was gonna be okay! Miko was going to... have fun... swimming alone..

“I’ll hold your suit I guess. You have fun.”

His tone barely kept away from the disappointed tone he felt. His face, however, and body language reflected it. Rowan picked up Miko’s suit, holding it in his lap. He couldn’t even make it into the water without help, and all he could probably do was float on his back and tread.

Often lying, but not to you.

Blossomfest The Lake Event
Miko shook his head. There was no way he was going into water which could be potentially dangerous alone. He didn't care if Rowan couldn't swim because he was disabled, he was going to carry the other in the water. It would happen either way and Miko was sure about it.

"I'm surprised ye brought a swim soot, but I can caree ye in the water. There are weird things in 'ere I'm not goin' alone, mate."

The Hufflepuff frowned. He frowned because he hadn't thought of Rowan's disability before asking him to swim, he frowned because he felt idiotic for not thinking about the possibility of him not being able to swim now. There was no doubt Miko was face palming internally because of the look on his face. Though he felt bad, his eyes had an alluring sparkle that almost called Rowan's name.

Now back to describing the Limof boy. Since he was extremely active and clearly adventurous, Miko had well defined muscles up and down. He had small pecs rather than a completely flat chest and the outline of abs but they weren't quite there yet since he hadn't been working out lately. The boy's biceps were noticeable without him flexing which just made him look more like what some people would describe as a bad boy. Even though he looked like this his personality didn't fit this at all, he was more of the quiet and sweet type rather than being rude and mysterious like he thought any 'bad boy' was.

He felt some people looking at him which made Miko shift in his spot once more. Though the lad was quite attractive, he still had self esteem issues like any other teen or pre-teen it's just how it is. Most people wonder why someone really attractive has low self esteem and low confidence but that's just because usually they don't know their full potential. Being a pureblood with the body issues was pretty rare but also not practically bathing in money as a pureblood was extremely rare as well so Miko was used to not being 'common' as others would call it.

The Hufflepuff looked at his surroundings.
Girls and boys both occupied the water.
Was that-
No wait-
The water is safe, right?

It seemed a shadow under the water was visible to Miko but right when he saw it, the shadow disappeared. That was highly unnatural but he could just imagine what crazy things lay beneath the water. Hogwarts was known to house many mysterious and possibly dangerous creatures in it's waters so Miko was slightly anxious about it but his nerves eventually settles when he looked back to Rowan.

A blush crept onto Rowan's cheeks after a moment.

He saw the look on Miko's face. The determination was apparent. And the challenge lingered in his eyes still. Rowan glanced away as he smiled slightly, laughing softly. He made quick work of his suit jacket, laying it over the arm of his chair before he started methodically working at the buttons of his shirt. It was odd how slow he was with them, as he wore them on a daily basis now.

"Just don't drop me, prick. I don't want to make a fool of either of us."

He affectionately called him prick, I promise. Well, as affectionately as prick could be said. Which wasn't very high on the scale. The shirt was shed, showing a toned upper body, with the rest lacking by now. He had no abs to speak of, but pecks and biceps for days. As he quickly shed the shoes and pants as well, it was only reinforced. The black swim trunks covered his thighs, but they obviously were lacking muscle.

His muscles were even more defined though because of his slight undernourishment still. He only ate so much, even though he had been putting on healthy weight. Once he had folded his pants he glanced back up at Miko, before he finally reached out, giving him silent permission to pick him up.
