Friendship, perhaps?
If there is anything in the world that can be said without a shadow of doubt, it's that Lexi Medford is an absolute sucker for a good book.
The library at home was nothing like the one at Hogwarts. It was small and old, never inhabited by a soul other then the sweet librarian who would always recommend Lexi books. There was always a distinct smell of plum, for some reason, which Lexi grew to love. It was cozy, and altogether what she considered her safe little nook. The one in Hogwarts, however, was bigger then anything she had back home.
The large rows of books simultaneously got Lexi excited and nervous. On one hand, this library probably held more knowledge then anyone ever had, stored away in old books and tomes. On the other hand, that cozy and familiar feeling she had in the library back home was now something completely foreign. Notoriously, Lexi is bad with change.
As she aimlessly made her way down the aisles of books, she came across a maroon covered book with golden rims. It was large and heavy. On the front in big, bold, golden letters read: 'A COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE TO MAGICAL INGREDIENTS'
Lexi gave a slight smile, grabbing the book from the shelf and making her way to a table. Making potions seemed keenly interesting, and this felt like a good way to prepare herself for what she would be working with when she started classes. She suddenly paused, though, when she spotted another book that caught her interest. 'WIZARDING WORLD HISTORY' it read.
She tried to pick it up, but her hands were completely full from the large book she had already been holding. Of course she could always come back, but it would be hard to navigate back over to this exact spot with how large this library was. Besides, navigating was one of her biggest weaknesses.
"Ahh... shoot..." she muttered. Lexi stared at the book in the shelf, puzzled. How was she going to do this? She looked around her, hoping somebody was nearby that could help her with this predicament.

Friendship, perhaps?
Something that Augustus learned about himself at Hogwarts, was his love of libraries and books. Mind you, he had learned way more than that, but that particular trait had come to him as a surprise. Between the constant commotion of classes, social encounters, homeworks and tests, he found himself to be quite the regular at the library. Then again, Augustus always loved books and reading. But it was something else this time. The majestic Hogwart’s library had enchanted him. The vast rows of massive books, the few scattered work stations, the general silent atmosphere had become a very safe space for him, even though he loved action, noise and excitement. His frequent visits to that safe haven had brought quite the balance to his quite exciting lifestyle. But even more than the place, he was in love with the books. These huge tomes of leather, the fine parchment rolls and, above everything, the smell of those. Few things in life brought him more satisfaction than to sit down with an old and obscure volume and, after making sure he was out of sight, to bury his face in it’s page and to breath in deeply. The strong smell of old paper triggered all his dopamine receptors and after that, he could sit still for hours, completely calm, while reading his random choosing, completely mesmerized by its contents.
Today felt like the perfect opportunity to embrace the tranquility of old books. Out of flight class, Augustus was overwhelmed with adrenaline, not in a bad way mind you. He was in fact quite fond of flying. But he always felt restless after such activities and focusing on other school tasks was always hard after an action packed afternoon such as the ones during flying lessons. He quickly ran to his dormitory where he took a quick bath. After feeling clean, he put on some comfortable sweater displaying his House’s colors and quickly made his way to the library.
Upon entry, he immediately felt calmer. Without even smashing his nose against the sturdy pages of a leather binded tome, the aroma he so liked struck his sense of smell. Instinctively smiling, his set himself upon the numerous rows bookshelves and started to look for something that might trigger his curiosity. Most of the time he didn’t bring any book with him, unless he had to study. The young Gryffindor liked to randomly wander through the aisles and just pick something on the spot. He would then proceed to read it. Sometimes for a few hours, sometimes less. Sometimes, when he found something he actually liked, he would not actually borrow it. Instead, he selfishly put it back but in a random section and memorize its emplacement, hoping it would be there to wait for him the next day. In any case, he very rarely actually finished any of the books he started in such a manner. You see, it was the whole activity for him, more than the actual content of the books, that he liked so much. A kind of ritual.
However, today was about to be different. Usually, the young wizard kept to himself during his library visits, in contrast of his otherwise very social lifestyle. But then, the Gryffindor in him was stronger than anything else and when he saw a young witch apparently struggling with a huge load of books, he couldn’t resist but to offer his help. As he made his way to the damsel in distress, Augustus spotted the Ravenclaw crest on her outfit. He smiled and thought to himself that there was no one else to burry themselves under a mountain of tomes than a Ravenclaw. Upon reaching the young student, he introduced himself.
- Hi there. May I help you ?, he asked. Quickly, he understood the problem and reached for Wizarding World History. As he gazed upon the frail looking witch, he offered to carry more books for her. How about you give me some of those books ?, he asked while pointing at the huge pile in her hands. That looks heavy, he pursed while quietly laughing. Let me help you carry them, he added.
