The Scottish Countryside
Helena nervously picked at the skin on her fingers, making her way down the narrow aisle of the train. The constant chatter of voices was loud around her, pressing in on all sides. The aisles were packed with students, and so was every compartment she passed. She'd never seen so many people in one place before, and certainly not in such a small place. She wanted to be excited, and she had been, in the moments before she got on the train. She was finally going to Hogwarts. As much as she loved her parents, Helena knew that Hogwarts was a place where she was out from under their watchful eyes. That, more than anything, was what she was excited for.
But perhaps she wasn't quite as ready as she'd thought. Now, without one of them at either side, holding her hands and pressing kisses to her head, she felt distinctly like she'd lost her grounding force. She was lost at sea, now, in an ocean that was tossing and thrashing. Swallowing hard, Helena finally squeezed out of the cramped crowd, and slipped into a new train car. It wasn't as blissfully empty as she was hoping, but it was emptier. Breathing a heavy sigh of relief, Helena made her way down the aisle, before pausing in front of a decently empty cabin. In fact, there was only one girl inside. Gathering her courage, Helena knocked lightly on the glass door, and then slid it open enough to peek in.
"Excuse me?" she prompted tentatively, "Are--Are these seats taken?
