Errast- Well actually it's Ernest.
Setting: Compartment J, towards the back of the Train. The Seats are empty except for Ernest.
IC Time: 10:40 am, 20 minutes until the train leavesClouds covered the sky as Ernest came through the crowd, pulling his trolley with a small grunt. He had separated from his new family the second he passed through the bricks, already tired of the busy house he found himself in. Once his trunk was taken care of, and he was free to get on the train, he made sure to go straight past his brother's compartment.
Gah, his brother. He hated that phrase now, it felt bitter. He thought having a sibling would be nice but he didn't think he would get rushed into it. The elder two boys were a lot but nothing Ernest could slip away from, but Clark? He seemed to be everywhere. Everywhere with his eyes and his hair, looking so much like him but not being like him at all.
Ernest found an empty compartment, the curtains on it pushed open showing him that it had plenty of seats for him to choose from. He opened the door gently, the creak of it lost as more students made their way through the walkway he was leaving. When the door closed, the noise left and he was finally able to relax.
He hoped he wouldn't have to share this place, maybe all the other compartments would fill so this one could stay empty. Sharing a room with Clark was bad enough, he couldn't imagine sharing a small room like this with someone who acted like his brother.
Ernest picked the seat by the window on the right, a small bit of coolness coming off the window. He peeked out, spotting kids hugging their parents and older students laughing and pushing up against their mates with cheeky grins. "Damn gits," he mumbled under his breath, jealous though he wouldn't admit it out loud, "Just get on the bloody train."
He looked away to dig through his messenger bag, moving books around till he got to his sketchbook, a tattered thing from years of use, a piece of charcoal being plucked out of his pocket. He flipped through to where he left off, a rough sketch of a sword on the page.Private Thread for @Reginald Drake

Errast- Well actually it's Ernest.
Reginald Drake was ecstatic about this day, as he took in the long pathways that separate each compartment, and began walking through with his unusually small trunk in hand, newly purchased wand in it's holster, and a wide grin gracing his face as he looked in each compartment. His mother's advice was straight forward; enter trunks with people that look his age, so that he can make friends early.
"Oh, there is one!" And to the probable dismay of one young boy, Reggie quickly opened the compartment door, smiling wide at his luck in finding a compartment with only one person in it who seemed to be his age.
"Sorry. No compartments around. Would you mind if I stayed here with you? Name's Reggie." He said as he started furiously attempting to put his tiny trunk where it belonged, before sitting down on the seat opposite his new compatriot.
"Can't believe we're going to Hogwarts! I was getting so sick of being in the muggle world." He said, sparkles filling his eyes as he imagined every spell he'd use to fight, learn, and grow the same way his mother did. To be something different than what his father promised him he would be.
"And you? Are you just as excited about this whole 'magical school' thing, or are you one of those party killers that are gonna stay gloomy while everyone is having fun?" Reggie smirked as he crossed his legs on the compartment, where he had already pulled out his wand from it's holster and started to slowly run his fingers over it. Feeling its magic call out to him just as strongly as it did in the old man's shop.

Errast- Well actually it's Ernest.
Setting: Compartment J, towards the back of the Train. The Seats are empty except for Ernest.
IC Time: 10:41 am, 19 minutes until the train leavesErnest's attention snapped up to the boy at the door, his eyebrows coming together with distaste. There goes his peace and quiet. Ernest closed his sketchbook with a sigh.
The boy shoved his trunk into their compartment with half-hazard actions and sat down right across from him, much to the other boy's disgust. Ernest watched him in silence, taking in the boy's actions in words with little interest.
The muggle world? Ernest didn't have much knowledge of the muggle world to be fair, sticking more to the wizarding world, though his new adoptive family would probably change that if they got any say in it. He looked over the boy's appearance, he was wearing robes on his tall frame but looks could be deceiving.
"I am not too familiar with the muggle world, I was raised purely around wizards." He said offhandly, as he started to put his things away. Any muggle-born would even know what he was looking at if he saw Ernest's sketches, or so the boy thought. "Overall, I am not looking forward to going, but that just might be because I never was too fond of a wizard's company," Ernest said as he got his stuff put away, his bag being placed on the seat beside him.
He couldn't see being in a school full of naive wizards and witches as fun in any way. "Though I wouldn't really see myself as gloomy, just not stuck with naive thoughts."Private Thread for @Reginald Drake

Ay chuta - 'Oh darn it' in Chilean spanishIt's a quarter to eleven, fifteen minutes before the train was set to depart, and Vicente, who had been receiving a lecture from his half-aunt about his near tardiness behaviour, was in a rush to board the train. He wasn't exactly late, but to Tía Teresa, arriving to the platform at half past ten was a big deal. "I have to go," Vicente interrupted his half-aunt before kissing his sister on her forehead. He hears Tía Teresa calling out urgently for him to return as he quickly runs towards the brick wall between platform 9 and 10.
Once he went through the brick, he frantically made his way through the sea of adults and younger children who were all bidding farewell to those onboard. Lucky for him, he made it onto the train just as he heard the Hogwarts Express blasting their locomotive whistle loudly. He scurried down the aisle with his trunk in tow, only to see that most of the compartments are already occupied. If it wasn't for Tía's ten minute talk (It would be thirty minutes or longer if Vicente didn't go to Platform 9 3⁄4 during the middle of the talk), he would have at least some time to claim a compartment for himself.
"Ay chuta," Vicente muttered as he paced back and forth, taking a quick glance between two compartments at the last train car, both were already claimed by two people. He had no plan on going back to the previous train car, and had to make a quick decision which compartments should he enter before the train started to move.
Vicente gave out a big heavy sigh before taking out a galleon out of his pocket. He decided it was a good idea to toss a coin to determine which compartments he should interrupt with his presence. Head for compartment J, head for compartment K. He gracefully flipped the galleon, closing his eyes before catching it to see the result. Tail it is. It landed on tail. He took a deep breath, trying to gather himself before sliding the door open.
"I apologise for interrupting you both with my entrance, I need a place to sit before the train start to move," Vicente said as he placed his trunk under the seat. Hopefully, they manage to understand his unique chilean accent, which was beginning to blend with a subtle hint of cockney inflection after three years living in England. After placing his trunk, he takes a glance at the two people inside the compartment.
Both boys were sitting by the window, so Vicente had no choice but to sit awkwardly beside the boy who was holding his wand. To Vicente, it felt as if the dark-haired boy looked like he was going to cast a spell on him for interrupting whatever was going on. Vicente offered his left hand to the boy next to him and his right hand trying to reach out to the boy opposite his seat as a gesture of a handshake,"My name is Vicente Hidalgo, and I'm a first year."

Errast- Well actually it's Ernest.
Reggie didn't know where to place this Ernest fellow. At first, he thought everyone would be excited to go and learn magic, but this person seemed the exact opposite. "So, you were raised with wizards, but you don't like them?" Reggie tilted his head as he spoke, his wild, untamed hair falling to the left as he stared at the boy, disbelief apparent in his eyes. It's insane to not be ecstatic about going to Hogwarts!
"It's nice to say your name first, so I don't have to just call you the gloomy kid. But, those thoughts are what we use to have fun! How can I enjoy myself if I'm always stuck being scared and having paranoid thoughts about what might happen?" Reggie smiled lightly at the boy in front of him. He didn't care about changing him, that's just not how who he was. This all came naturally to the hyperactive boy since he enjoyed talking to people.
As he went to respond to the boy's next depressing statement, the door opened behind him, and Reggie tilted his head over. "Oh, a new arrival!" He said, and moved over closer to the window to offer the boy a bigger seat. "Here, come on!" He said, as his wand flailed about dangerously while he waved his hand all over. Definitely not proper wand etiquette.
"Oh, someone with manners! Nice to meet ya, Vicente. I'm Reginald, but you can call me Reggie. Please do, actually." He smiled wide at the boy who introduced himself, as he pocketed his wand and took his hand with enthusiasm to shake, ignoring that he just gave them a hand each. "Please tell me you're a little more excited for Hogwarts than...some people." Reggie said, smirking lightly as he looked at the black haired boy on the other seat. Childish, he knew, but he wanted a reaction.

Errast- Well actually it's Ernest.
Setting: Compartment J, towards the back of the Train.
IC Time: 10:43 am, 17 minutes until the train leavesThe boy's lip turned up at the other's assumption. Him? Raised by wizards? He might be stuck with them now but he wasn't a couple of weeks ago. It was bold for the boy to assume he was raised that way when he obviously wasn’t as foolish. He tucked his hair behind his ear, pointing them out. “A goblin actually, seeing as I came from them,” he said, showing off his pointed ear before letting his hair fall to cover it again.
Ernest looked over at the other boy, debating. “You can call me the gloomy kid, I don’t mind because I know it isn't true,” Ernest said, taking in the boy’s smile curiously, “But my name is Errast, no Errast. Actually, it’s Ernest.”
He didn’t really agree that you couldn’t enjoy yourself and be reasonably paranoid.
Before either of them could really remark, another boy entered the compartment, much to Ernest’s displeasure. He feared it would fill up before they were even moving. He looked over the new arrival, his mind immediately alerting him to the fact the boy was missing an eye. “I believe we are all first years,” was all he said, lost in his thoughts, wondering what could have caused the boy to have lost an eye.
Maybe he was even born that way?Private Thread for @Reginald Drake

WC - 310 wordsVicente smiled as he exchanged a handshake with the boy sitting next to him."I share your excitement, Reggie. It's a pleasure to meet you," he said before breaking the handshake and adjusting his sitting position. It wasn't so long after that he sensed the train gradually began to chug, indicating that the train was already departing. The compartment became uncomfortably silent once his eyes fixated upon the window, where he discerned the train's departure from King's Cross station, revealing the beautiful view before facing away from the window a few minutes after.
Vicente desperately seeking a conversational lifeline, he searched his mind for a suitable topic to reduce the discomfort, yet words failed him, leaving him to endure the silence in hopeful anticipation that someone would find a subject of discussion. Instead, he casually threw the galleon he used in the air a few times as a mean of amusing himself, watching it spin and glint in the sunlight, catching it effortlessly in his hand before he took a notice that the boy opposite his and Reggie's seat has been staring at him for a while.
"Why are you staring at me like that?" Vicente asked the elf-like boy, a faint unease creeping over him as he registered the boy's intense gaze. It wasn't until a moment later that he realised the reason for such perusal—he forgot to wear his prosthetic eyes along with him and thus, leaving his left eye exposed. He was somewhat panicking internally, fearing that the boys would cast negative judgement upon his physical appearance due to his past experience, but then again, they weren't reactive as he had initially anticipated when they noticed he had a missing eyeball. Vicente sighed, keeping a calm facade while he continuously tossed his coins in the air,"I did lost my eyeball due to an incident. I will discuss nothing more than that."

Errast- Well actually it's Ernest.
Reggie smiled at Ernest. Okay, well, his name was a start. "Nice to meet ya, Ernest. Am I saying it right? Probably." He then turned his attention over to the boy with the missing eye as he spoke. "Oh, I thought for sure you wouldn't want to talk about it. I usually try not to talk about my accidents with the toy wand back home." He said with a small laugh, trying his best to calm the boy down and not make him feel alienated.![]()

"So, tell me, is the incident something you wanna talk about? Looks awesome, by the way. Looks like you lost it fighting some evil wizard out in the boonies." He said, turning around on their seats, and laying on it as if it was a bad, using the window as a headrest while he spoke.
"But, it's good to know that at least one other person is excited. I'm sure we'll end up being good friends! First years, both excited for Hogwarts, both prone to be in trouble." He said, looking at the boy's missing eye. This was extremely inappropriate, but for a boy who's simply fascinated by the story behind such a tragic accident, the social cues were far from his mind and will continue to be for a long, long time from now.
Reggie, while speaking and listening to his new friends, busied his hands by pulling out one of their textbooks. Specifically, he pulled out the textbook for Defense Against the Dark Arts. A book he's read cover to cover before coming to Hogwarts. This book had so much he wanted to learn all packed into text. Who reads anyway?

Por las varitas rotas de los magos - 'By the broken wands of wizards' in Chilean Spanish. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxIt's a wizarding idiom that I made up, which is basically xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxan equivalent to 'Oh no'Ernest. So the elf-like boy who recently refused to shake his hand and stared intensively at him has a name. Vicente stopped his continuous coin toss when the boy beside him was trying to make him feel better and kind of complimented him. What a nice boy, unlike this Ernest guy, but Reggie seemed oblivious to what he had just said, though for the moment, he didn't mind reiterating it.
"I really don't want to discuss that, but I appreciate the compliment," he replied to Reggie, his discomfort growing as the boy decided to join in the scrutiny. Wow, perfect. Two people are staring into the soul of his left eye. Vicente regretted forming his first impression of Reggie in his mind. This was just the beginning of his Hogwarts years, and he found himself already a troublemaker. Way to go, Vicente!
"I.. Uh.. I don't want to cause some trouble. Tía Teresa wouldn't like it, and I don't want to go through many hours of lectures about behaviour," Vicente continued when the two boys shifted their focus to something else, feeling a slight ease from the intense gaze, "But I'm glad that you think we're going to be good friends." Glad is not the appropriate word at this moment; rather, it was a sense of worry that filled him. Por las varitas rotas de los magos, he regretted choosing this compartment.

IC Time: 10:58 am, Train starting to take off"You're making him uncomfortable," Ernest spoke softly, his eyes blinking as he looked away from the boy's missing eye and to the other. It was a shame the boy was missing one, as the other was very bright, and pretty.
He looked over to Reginald, taking him in. The only unmarked human among them, and the most joyful. He wondered if that was connected or just a painful coincidence. "You know, I think we would benefit from thinking of less trouble and more so. . . what house we will be in. If we are all in separate houses, how will we get the time to do anything together?"
Ernest didn't really care which house he was in, though maybe if he was in Gryffindor he could ask around about the sword created for the founder. However, as long as he wasn't trapped in a house and dorm with his new adoptive brother he was fine.
"It will be hard to be friends if one of you is in a tower and the other in the dungeons." He remarked before looking out the window as the train started to move.
