While the others had talked, Reine braided and un-braided her hair, sitting a small distance away from them. She wanted to participate in the conversation, but was still a little embarrassed from earlier, worried she'd made a bad impression of herself. When the Slytherin came closer to her, she stiffened, worried what she was going to say.

"It's really okay. But since you are homesick, that means you'll be even happier to get home. And your parents must be worried sick about sending you here as well. But that means your reunion will be even better. And Hogwarts is pretty great, don't forget."  She whispered, offering a small smile.

Reine nodded, "My grandmother came here in her third year, she never stops talking about it. She got me all excited about it and here I am, crying on my first day." She laughed, "I enjoy quidditch a lot, but Herbology is probably my favorite class. Sadly, I didn't pick up on my father's love for Defense Against the Dark Arts."

Her smile faded and she shrugged before continuing, "And, er, I only live with my grandmother, my father's dead and my mother chooses not to acknowledge me."

Harper felt a moment of hurt when Morgana made the statement. She didn’t want to leave, she just didn’t want to be late on the first day. Harper thought it was better to just keep her mouth for now.
She missed her parents too. She missed them so much.

The breakfast with the family, the lovely dinners her mother always made. And those dinners didn’t contain plants, like most people would think. No, they were mostly chicken, and lovely vegetables. And sometimes they’d get desert. Lovely ice cream with chocolate sauce.
Harper’s mouth started to water.

Her mother, who they recently figured out she was incurable sick. They tried everything but nothing worked. Harper didn’t want to go to Hogwarts at first, but her mother basically forced her to.
It will be okay my love’ she had said. Her father and brother then helped her getting the things she needed, and her brother joined her on the scary ride towards Hogwarts. Maybe she should look for him.
Harper bit her lip, trying to stop herself from crying in front of these girls.
She missed some of the conversation, because she was so deep in her thoughts, but she heard what the Gryffindor said.

“And, er, I only live with my grandmother, my father's dead and my mother chooses not to acknowledge me." The girl looked down.

“That’s h-horrible, I’m sorry.” Harpers voice cracked. There went her act of trying to be strong. She swallowed the lump in her throat.

“But I bet your grandmother is a lovely woman.” Harper said, smiling sadly. She didn’t want the others to figure out what was wrong with her.

Isabella ran as fast as she could, weaving through students to get away from her pursuers. She could still hear their heavy footsteps following her, but getting fainter as she outran them. ‘I better duck in somewhere until they’re gone.’ She thought slowing down abit. Out of the corner of her eye she saw a girls toilets block that looked abandoned. ‘I’ll stop there for a few minutes.’ She thought to herself. She jogged up to the door and pushed it open.

She stepped inside, breathing heavily after her run. She was suprrised to see 4 girls sitting on the floor already. Her eyes scanned around the group. 2 Slytherins, a Hufflepuff and a Gryffindor. ‘Jeepers, I hope I’m not intruding on anything.’ She thought, spying that some of them looked unhappy. She pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose and walked over to the mirror. She was still breathing get heavily after her really long run. She checked that her hair and makeup were still intact before walking over to the group. She already knew they had been watching her from the moment she ran in.

She smiled at them before speaking. “Threw an exploding bon-bon. Had to run away front the group I threw it at” she said, her breath starting to go back to normal. “Can I sit down?” she enquired, hoping to make some friends.

You see? Even death has a heart.
