Among The Owls
Quinn quitely walked up the steps to the owelry early one december morning. The silence of the castle was nice and Quinn loved the was the castle looked with the sun rays shining through the windows. Quinn sat down on a ledge and stroked a nearby owl. Quinn opened the window in the owlery and let the wind settle over her. Quinn took a peice of parchment from her bag and a quill with ink.
Dear Mum,
How are you? I miss you greatly and can't wait to come home for christmas.
I wish that Maeve was here so that I could be some part of the family. I can't
belive that you shut down the school. Where is Maeve going? How is dad's shop?
Don't worry about me, I'm fine.
-Love Quinn Brook
Quinn delicatly traced a heart on her paper. A tear leeked out of her eye and slowly fell down her cheek.
"I miss you Mum." Quinn whispered. Quinn carefully put the parchment in an envelope. Beconing the owl she had been stroking Quinn tied the letter to his leg.
"Now make sure you rest before you come back, Ireland is a long journey." Quinn missed her family to the earth and back, Quinn wished that her older sister had gone to Hogwarts. Maybe things would have been different. Quinn couldn't stop the tears of homesickness from coming. Hearing a creak from the door Quinn quickly tried to stop. Oh great, now someone is coming in and there going to see me like this. Quinn thought.

In the early morning when the sun had barley started to come to illuminate the castle that was Hogwarts, few students had woken up to get there daily tasks done. Alex was one of them, he spent his afternoon nearing the edge of curfew writing a letter to his parent's. Since he wrote it so close to curfew he had to get up early to send it out. It had his normal stuff in it. With a few updates about his classes. How they were going, and how he felt about them. He also wanted to give an update on quidditch, his parents did not seam to understand it all that well. But they tried to be excised for him. And that was all he needed.
When he woke up he tried to be a quite as he could, as quite a few people were sill sleeping. He grabbed his outfit at random. Not risking lighting anything up, so his outfit was a surprise. Being a non-surprising band tee, and some jeans. That was not the surprise but what it was. Turned out he had grabbed one of his favorite jeans, and an Escape the Fate shirt. Not to bad in his eyes. He fumbled to put in his earrings, and grab his wand, as well as his letter. Thankfully that was all that he needed to do before he headed out.
He made his way through the castle, hearing the light tap and thump of his shoes on the ground was odd, seeing as during weekdays the halls were so loud with people talking as they walked from class to class, or around lunch time on the weekends you had a bunch of teen's and pre teen's rushing to get an amazing lunch made by house elf's. Something Alex still needed to learn more about. He had yet to see one, so he thought they might be myths.
It did not take him long to make it to the owlery, Climbing the stairs Alex could just barley make out the sound of someone talking. No big, he had sent out a letter with someone else in the tower before. He would just let them do there things, and he would do his. After the spiral stairs he loathed, he took a moment to ketch his breath. Walking into the circular the room he saw the one he had heard. It was a girl. And based on the sounds he was hearing, he concluded that she was crying.
He did not know what to do, he was hardly around crying people. “A- Are you ok?” he thought that was the best thing to ask. The right thing. Checking if they were ok and then offering help based on there answer. Alex walked over to her, and stood next to her.

Among The Owls
A boy walked into the circular room. Oh great, a boy of all people see's me like this. Quinn thought. Quinn sniffed her eyes still dripping.
"A-Are you ok?" The boy asked. Quinn was suprised that he had thought to ask that.
"Oh, um-I well I think so. I just am feeling kind of..." Quinns voice trailed off. She noticed that the boy had cute heart earings on. Huh. Earings, She thought cocking her head.
"I'm just feeling a little homesick. Missing my family and everything. Really nice morning." Quinn sighed and looked the other way.
Ireland mornings were usually wet but when it wasn't raining it was really green and pretty. The snow on the grounds of hogwarts was very pretty and the great hall looked great. But Quinn just missed her family home in Ireland. She missed her sister and her brother. And her friends. Declan. Quinn smiled when she thought about Declan. I wonder how he feels about me kissing him? Quinn wondered. After she kissed him she had run off to the airport with her family to go to london. Why can't he have gone to hogwarts me? Why did his parents have to send him to Ilvermorny? Quinns tears came on again.
"Sorry, I just-miss my friend and stuff." Quinn apoligized, sniffing in between words. Quinn watched as the owl she had tied the letter to look between her tearstained face and the boy, decide that Quinn would be fine, and fly out the window. Quinn watched his progress until she couldn't see the letter anymore. Quinn usually wasn't a sobbing mess. Usually she was meeting new people, chipper and happy, and getting good (hopefully) grades on her homework. Quinn looked up at the boy.

Among The Owls
Celeste wandered towards the Owlery to write to Deirdre. She'd probably made tons of new friends at whatever Irish middle school her parents sent her to, she probably didn't want to be friends with Celeste anymore.
Well, Celeste felt differently. She would never not want to see her quirky redhead friend, with her crazy ideas and even crazier pet dog. It was chilly outside; Celeste was wrapped in her Ravenclaw scarf for warmth. Blue and silver... she liked it.
Halfway up the stairs, she froze and heard, echoing on the stone chamber, a girl's high, restrained sniffles and sobs. Celeste, concerned for whoever was crying in the Owlery, cautiously clambered up the steps and pushed open the door to the glass-free-windowed room filled with hooting birds.
A kindly looking Gryffindor boy with artistically tousled hair was perched near the wall, looking concerned at a crying first year Ravenclaw. Celeste had seen her in the common room before- Quinn, she might have heard?
She glanced at the Gryffindor and back to Quinn and saw the look in her eyes, one Celeste knew all too well in endless nights in the gorgeous dorms, and felt a familiar pang in her heart. Homesick.
"Missing home?" Celeste murmured in her thick Irish accent, sliding down beside Quinn. Smidgen, her silver cat, padded in and rubbed their little head against Celeste's leg. Celeste absently stroked the feline behind the ear, looking at Quinn.
