"A grindylow? Aren't they dangerous? You really were looking for danger that day weren't you?" She asked, her tone less angry than before. She was relieved to have her wand back, she was about to leave when he gave his name, "Wait?" She turned back to him, she was only just able to hear his accent.

"Ruka?" She blinked looking at him, "That is the most Irish name I've heard in a long time." She smiled shaking her at him, "And half my family is Irish." She smiled slightly, as she was starting to feel herself again. "Where about in Ireland are you from?" She asked, moving back towards him, a little more.

"My dad's family is from Dublin. I always enjoyed visiting them." She paused for a second as she looked at him. "My mum's side of the family lives pretty close to here, one of the lakes close to our house is a family of Kelpies, I've been watching them for years, you might want to start with a gentler creature before heading to a grindylow."

She looked at him, "So, why were you looking for grindylows?" She asked.

He really did seem to have caught Moray in a bad mood because the second she held her wand in her hand again she was much less snarky , her features softening significantly.
He bit down on a little smile, just shrugging his shoulders in response to her pointing out that Grindylow were dangerous. He knew that, but they sure hadn't been as much of a danger to him as that damned squid.
He waited for a second after giving her his name, unsure whether she would keep walking or pick up a conversation.
Despite Ruka's doubts, she did the latter. "Yeah," he said, blinking in surprise when she opened up about part of her family being Irish. "I'm from... Mullingar. Well, around there at least. We kind of just... stayed in the countryside mostly." He smiled and awkwardly rubbed his left arm. Moray already judged him for his sense of adventure, she probably didn't need to know that he grew up without a roof over his head.
"I've never been to Dublin," he admitted, interest sparking in his eyes. "But I only heard good things about it. I always wanted to go!" He grinned, listening to her talking about the lake close to the other part of her family, and the Kelpies that resided in it. "I really want to see a Kelpie," he admitted, his face beaming as he listened to the Slytherin girl talk. "I've only read about them, they sound amazing!"
He took a deep breath when she asked him why he was looking for Grindylow in the first place, shaking his head like he didn't know what to say about the subject. "My friend and I just wanted to get out of the castle," he said with a shrug, slowly starting to walk alongside her in a random direction. "We both wanted to know what lives in the lake so we took a boat and... Well, met the Squid instead." He could still remember his lungs filling with water and Donny's scared face above him as he did everything in his might to reanimate him, but for some reason the memory made him smile rather than fill him with dread.
"And what about you?" he asked, nodding towards her wand. "Why did someone hide your wand?"
