At Violet’s words, Kaitlyn nodded her head in understanding, but didn’t say anything. Partly to give Violet the space to talk, like a polite young lady would, and to keep herself from visibly sobbing during class. She may be a weird Slytherin girl, she didn’t want to be labeled a serial cryer, either. Especially since she tried to take very good care of her appearance. While she wasn’t wearing any makeup, looking like she cried was bad enough.

Kaitlyn closed her eyes in the space her silence created. She took a deep breath in. Held it for a minute. Then let it out slowly. She repeated this process a total of ten times. Her years of meditation showing her knowledge of this. Her heart slowed down and her breaths became less and less ragged. After what seemed like a while, she opened her eyes and looked over at Violet.

A shy smile danced on her lips at Violet’s words. “Y-you’re smart. You know m-more about this than me,” she gestured to the class at large to indicate Transfiguration. Her stutter became even less frequent. A light flush bloomed on her cheeks at the compliment. “Okay,” she responded, obentiently. Her blue eyes dropped to the snail on her desk. She picked it back up, as it was about to crawl off her desk, and placed it back at the center. She laid her wand on the desk near the snail.

Kaitlyn looked back over at Violet. “So … um, you mentioned v-visualizing before? I know it m-must sound so b-basic, and I don’t mean to sound l-like I haven’t been paying attention, but, h-how do you do that?” She asked, quietly. “And to m-my benefit of the doubt, I t-thought visualizing was optional,” she attempted to clarify her actions, her ears turning pink.

Violet was proud, of herself, and of Kaitlyn. The girl had finally started getting over her self doubt and this felt like an achievement to Violet.

As Kaitlyn asked her about visualisation and told her how she thought it was optional, Violet couldn't help but grin.
Violet replied to her,"That's alright, let's get started then, shall we?" still grinning and faking courtesy.

However, she did not give the Slytherin much time to reply as the class was nearly coming to an end and she didn't want Kaitlyn to go to the next class without completing her transfiguration for the day.
Violet started again,"Believe me, visualisation is real easy. We all have had done daydreaming and that's what we are supposed to do again with this snail. Daydream, for it to look like a teapot."

Violet brought her notes and her quill towards her, drawing something that looked like a snail, well not really a snail. She spoke again while slightly nodding her head toward Kaitlyn, "Ugh, this doesn't really look like a snail, but you understand right? I'm not at all good at drawing, pardon me."
She continued, pointing towards the parts of the snail's body she had drawn,"So the shell part of snail is supposed to look like the body of the teapot, the body of the snail is to look like the teapot's handle and these eyes, no the horns, no whatever they are are supposed to look like the snout of the teapot. Now take a few minutes and imagine your snail as the teapot while looking at it."

As much as Kaitlyn doubted herself, she wasn’t always thinking such negative thoughts. Usually, failing to cast a spell brought the ugly thoughts into her mind. If anything, her mind routinely thought about failure all the time. How much she feared it. Thankfully, she wasn’t failing her classes, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t scared of doing so.

“Okay,” Kaitlyn replied again, quietly. Her right hand, once again, started to play with her right pigtail. She honestly did feel stupid, needing to be explained how to visualize in her head. It was awefully similar to the visualization she did, when it came to her drawings. Perhaps the two were similar? To not make herself look even stupider, she nodded her head to Violet’s explanation.

Kaitlyn giggled quietly. “I could draw it if you want. Not to brag, but I do like drawing,” she quietly replied, the stutter not consistent in her voice now. “Um …. oh yeah, you mean the eye stalks,” she gently teased Violet. Horns on a snail would be a sight, in her opinion. She now kind of wanted to draw a snail with horns. It sounded so strange, and yet so mesorizing.

‘Right, focus, Katie. You can think your weird thoughts, later,’ she reminded herself. “Okay,” Kaitlyn responded, obentiently. She looked at her snail, thinking of it, as Violet described. The shell as the body of the teapot. The body as the teapot’s handle. The eye stalks as the snout of the teapot. A nice and lovely teapot. She simply nodded, as she visualized.

When Kaitlyn said she liked drawing, Violet made a face, saying, "Why didn't you tell me earlier? Oh my god, I hate drawing. Next time, I'll make sure you are the one who draws. This is so embarrassing." Violet was visibly red in her face, after all her drawing was quite embarrassing. She got redder, as Kaitlyn reminded her that those 'horns' were eye stalks. To deal with the embarrassment, she quickly said, lowkey trying to excuse herself for her ignorance, "Ofcourse, ofcourse, miss know-it-all, it's the eye stalks. I was just providing some humour, you know."

As Kaitlyn nodded her head, presumably finished with her visualisation, Violet said once again, "I presume, that you were able to visualise the snail as the teapot. Now you would have to do so, while enunciating the spell 'Choclea Bibe' and waving your wand three times over the snail. Also a tip, think of nicer teapot alright, one with bright designs and colours, not like mine with such dull colour that will make you feel depressed. We students are getting only one snail to turn into a teapot so this is supposed to be our best try." Violet fake sighed as she said the word 'depressed'.

Kaitlyn giggled. “Honestly, your drawing doesn’t suck. I didn’t tell you to make you feel bad,” she attempted to explain herself. “I didn’t even realize you were going to draw,” she added. Her cheeks flushed a little at Violet’s next words. “You really think I’m a know-it-all?” She whispered, barely audible. “I’m sorry, I was only trying to tease you,” she responded, her eyes down cast, her right hand playing more agressively with her pigtail.

At Violet’s description, Kaitlyn giggled again. “I’m sorry, three times?” She clarified. She was only waving her wand once. No wonder she got absolutley nothing before. “I think the snail’s pretty cute. But, if you want nicer colors, I’ll try what you said,” she replied with as shrug. She didn’t mind the snails at all.

With a deep breath in, and out, Kaitlyn pointed her wand at the snail. “Choclea Bibe,” she recited. She waved her wand three times over the snail. She thought of the teapot. A nice mint green color. She imagined the parts of the snail corresponding to the teapot. The shell as the teapot’s body. The snail’s body as the teapot’s handle. The eye stalks as the snout of the teapot. All in a brillant mint green with golden accenting around the edges, and on the handle to open the teapot.

In a flash, the snail transformed in front of her eyes into the mint green teapot. “Yay!” She squealed happily. Without warning, she turned to Violet and gave her a hug. “Thanks!” She exclaimed.

When Kaitlyn told Violet that her drawing didn't suck,Violet knew she was just saying it out of guilt for making fun of her. Violet had ofcourse said that very lightly and not wanting to guilt trip her further, she said, "Oh, don't you say otherwise. My drawing sucks because I hate drawing and I have absolutely no interest in picking up interest in this activity, seriously!

Kaitlyn's next words were again filled with guilt which Violet was disliking a lot. She didn't mean any of the things that seriously, and was just teasing her too. She considered this to be pretty much a conversation failure, which made her frown.
But she quickly giggled not wanting the girl to notice her frown, and said, "Hey, you are not the only one who can tease me alright, I can do that too. What's wrong with that miss know-it-all? You better, not tell me a sorry for such trivial incidences of teasing."

She watched over Kaitlyn turning her snail into teapot. The girl was concentrating quite hard and it satisfied Violet. Violet felt like a proud mom watching her kids experimenting and discovering things.
Kaitlyn transfigured the snail into a mint green coloured teapot with golden edgings and Violet was in love with it. In her opinion, it was lot better than her boring brownish teapot with no specifications.

Violet complimented Kaitlyn, " Oh my god, your teapot looks so beautiful and satisfying. Did I not tell you, that you will be able to transfigure too ,huh? Omg, this is so cute. I want to serve my tea with this."
What Kaitlyn did next was sudden and surprised Violet, she hugged her exclaiming her thanks. Violet not being used to it, awkwardly put her hands back around the other girl. Getting over the awkwardness, she quickly exclaimed, "Ofcourse, girlll, you are always welcome."

Kaitlyn was slightly taken aback by Violet’s response about her drawing. “O-okay. I wasn’t trying to say you should draw more. But, I thought your drawing came out well,” she confirmed again, hoping Violet would believe her. She didn’t just throw around compliments all Willy nilly. There was a reason for it, at least in her mind.

“Oh. I’m so- Okay,” Kaitlyn was about to apologize again, but finally relented. Her cheeks flushed. “Um, you can call me a know-it-all if you want. I won’t mind,. And …. thanks for the teasing,” she continued, feeling bad for making Violet feel bad.

At Violet’s compliment, Kaitlyn flushed lightly. “Thanks to you and your encouragement. Thank you so much,” she responded with a giggle. She quickly released Violet, not wanting to overstay her welcome. “Thanks!” She giggled. She was happy to have made such a friendly interaction with Violet in the class. ‘Hopefully this will lead to a long and rich friendship,’ she thought.

Suddenly the bell rang for the end of class. “Thanks again for everything, Violet. Maybe I’ll see you around?”

“Yes, Miss know-it-all, I’ll see you around,” Violet giggled.

With a smile, and a light flush on her cheeks, Kaitlyn quickly packed up to leave the class. She quickly waved goodbye to Violet, as they left the class together. Kaitlyn was happy that Violet was able to help her.
