Minnie followed Genevieve into the bathroom, thinking about how to answer. "Hmm...I'm not sure about how this year's going. I think it's going alright." Except for the bullying... her mind thought. But she shook it off. I'm a true pureblood. It's all good and fine...I hope. She forcibly changed her thoughts. "I'm creating a new kind of popcorn. I'm going to call it, tea kernel popcorn. It's popcorn, but it has a tea taste along with the popcorn taste....it's a work in progress." She hoped the strange new invention would make Genny forget about her blatant subject change. She was really trying to invent it, it just always started to burn when she added the tea parts into the kernel, or it exploded, or it gave her food poisoning. The first two made the prefects look at her harshly, the last one gave her a trip to the hospital wing. She inwardly winced at the memory. But she should focus on the conversation. "Peeves is so annoying right? I hate him. One time he put a dung bomb directly on my head! I might have deserved it after calling him some...names...but it was still annoying. And the only reason I'd called him names is because he shot me with a water balloon first." Minnie huffed, annoyed at the memory. "Nice save for avoiding him, thanks."

Viva looked at Minnie with a smile on her face. "Tea kernel popcorn? That sounds really interesting! I'd like to try some of it once you figure it out!" She sighed, leaning back against one of the sinks again. "Yes! Peeves is the worst! I wish we could just be rid of him altogether..."

Trying to think of other conversation topics, Viva remembered one of the first year girls that she had seen in class but not yet met. "Do you know Elisa Shakestra?" she asked Minnie curiously. "I have never met her, but seen her a few times. I've heard... interesting things about her family. Apparantly the Shakestras are a rich pure-blooded family, and are quite rude to people they don't care about. And you know what else..." Viva leaned forward, starting to enjoy the gossip. "I heard that many of the members in that family can speak parseltongue! I'm wondering if Elisa can too..."

Eyes wide, Viva shook her head with a sigh. "Honestly, I've always thought Parselmouths are a little sketchy. I mean, talking to snakes? How weird is that? I know not all of them are bad, but snakes are generally associated with dark magic, right?"

Minnie bit her lip, not really sure how to react to Genny's statement. "I...that....I'm a rich pureblood family. That kinda hurts." She knew Genny would never hurt her intentionally though. "And I think snakes are kinda cool. It's one of my favorite animals, so it would be fun to talk to snakes. And um....don't judge a book by its cover? I honestly think the dark arts aren't all that bad. But I do see your point." She didn't really feel up for an argument. She leaned against a mirror, wondering what else to say. So she instead started to plan her tea kernel popcorn. Perhaps next I should try adding the tea before the popcorn flavor? Maybe the mix of flavors is what's causing the...mistakes. Minnie thought back to her idea of it, when she had dipped her popcorn in her tea. But did Genny really want to have it when she completed it? She wasn't sure. "Oh, to answer your question, I don't really know Elisa. She seems nice, and I think she might be in one or two of my classes, but I'm not sure." Minnie bit her lip again, not really in the mood for rumors. "I'm not really a big rumor person anyways. Why do you ask?"

The day was quite fun! Elisa had met up with a couple of her friends in her previous class and was currently on her way to Transfiguration class, surprisingly, the young Slytherin's mood was great, unlike her mostly grumpy self, maybe Transfiguration was finally becoming interesting for her,

As the young girl walked on her way to the classroom, she noticed an ink stain on her hand, it seemed like she had somehow spilled ink on herself previously, but thankfully the lavatory was a couple of steps away, Elisa quickly started walking towards the lavatory while trying to control the annoyance building inside her, it was quite shocking how an ink stain could ruin her entire mood but from a young age Elisa was thought to always look neat and modest to show class,

As Elisa walked inside the Lavatory, she heard a couple of whispers which she ignored but then her body instantly froze, when she heard her name be mentioned, Elisa slowly hid in the corner to find out what the two girls were speaking of, this was either going to hurt her or enlighten her,

She nervously stood by the corner, but as she heard the girls, her blood started to boil, Elisa wanted to come out and yell at them but was somehow able to stop herself, her hand forming a fist, she stood listening to the girls badmouthing her, One of them was Minnie Duke from the Duke family, Elisa had seen her in some classes and a couple of pureblood balls but the other one didn't seem familiar, 'Guess she is a muggle, her audacity' she thought while silently taking in the conversation about her.

But her calmness was hit hard, when the mention of parselmouth came in, they openly called parselmouths weird, this was enough to hit Elisa's nerve, It was not her mistake that the ability of parselmouth was running in her family blood, nor was it her fault that after a long time of no parselmouths being born, she was born with it,

Something about the two girls' words hit her hard, and Elisa stopped herself from tearing up, which quite surprised her, Elisa wasn't the type to cry for small insults but something about these insults was having a huge impact on her,

As Elisa continued to stay hidden in the corner, trying her best to bury her feelings, she felt a deep sense of hatred for the other two girls, especially for the brunette girl who didn't seem to shut her mouth at all....

Viva immediately felt very bad. She hadn't meant to hurt Minnie at all, and was feeling kind of guilty. "Oh, Minnie, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean all pure blood families are like that, just in general." She said, trying to redeem herself. What is wrong with me? I'm never this mean or gossipy. Stop it, Genevieve! She thought sternly to herself.

She wrinkled her nose at Minnie's next statement, however. "What do you mean, she seems nice? Every time I've seen her she acts like I'm invisible! That's how she acts to all people she thinks aren't worth her time. It's quite rude, and she acts very selfish. She's also just got 'stay away from me' vibes, you know? Like, she's not exactly what you would call friendly." She sighed, leaning against the sink again with a bored expression. "I only asked because I was wondering if you knew her, that's all. Sorry if I'm being too gossipy, I just-" Viva broke off, shaking her head. "Ugh. I bet she would totally shun me and hate me if she found out my mother was a muggle. Her sort all do. The Shakestras aren't exactly the most accepting family, either, apparantly."

Minnie breathed a sigh of relief at Viva's first statement. So she didn't mean my family, the Dukes. Although, that does seem like a bit of a rude last name. But Viva knows I would never hurt her, so it's all good. She stopped her line of thinking before she could get lost in her thoughts. "Um...maybe? I...you're not being too gossipy I just...was surprised a little that you would...but no matter." She shut her mouth, embarrassed. "Oh, and I think I know what I've been doing wrong for my tea kernel popcorn!" She exclaimed, hoping her earlier thought would work and also deciding to change the subject. I wonder what would happen if Elisa was overhearing this? She inwardly shuddered. I bet she would be mad. Not that I'm really being...mean. But what does Viva have against Elisa? Minnie wondered about that for a second, but stopped, not wanting to intrude on any past personal things. "Well, maybe if you talk to her it will be a misunderstanding? Although I would hate someone like that. I guess she could be prejudiced against people with muggle parents as she always is nice to me and I'm a pureblood. I don't know though, just a guess."

The more the two girls talked, the more Elisa's anger increased for the two girls, it seemed like they weren't aware of the fact that gossiping wasn't a good thing, one thing that left Elisa shocked was the fact that Minnie, a person who was known for being pretty sweet was somehow being able to bear the presence of someone so rude as the girl next to her,

As Elisa continued to listen to the rude conversation happening, she felt a bit of remorse for Minnie who was put in such a position which she didn't wish for but it seemed like the brunette girl didn't care about the discomfort faced by the pureblooded girl next to her,

As the brunette girl started to make fake accusals of Elisa's personality and aura, Elisa couldn't bear it anymore, she finally stepped out of a corner with an emotionless face and spoke in a cold voice "How I act is none of your business, and who the heck are you to judge me without even knowing anything properly about me?"

The more she faced the two girls, the more anger and sadness filled Elisa's heart to the fact that Elisa could barely stop herself from crying, "And what did you just say about how I act to people? Well at least I don't backbite those I am not fond of like you and yes I may not be friendly sometimes but when have we ever interacted for you to make such accusals of me?" she said, her voice as cold as ever,

She hated the audacity of the two girls for speaking badly of her when they hadn't met or spoken to each other before properly for even once, in fact she hated people like them who judged her just by her quiet personality and family status,

"And about my family, they aren't rude, they just prefer not to interact with muggle-borns but that doesn't mean every Shakestra is the same, while some still do have the old mindset doesnt mean I ought to have one too, In fact, it's my wish if I want to follow those beliefs or not, you have no rights to comment on my own opinions", Elisa couldn't believe herself, she was for some reason defending the pureblood belief, something she had hated her whole life, but neither could she let the brunette continue insulting her family and purebloods.

After a while, Elisa couldn't hold the fearless and emotionless face anymore, and a teardrop poured out of her eyes which continued to glare at the two girls, 'No, No, No, I can't show them my weakness' she thought to herself, as she quickly rubbed the tear.

Talking to @Minnie Duke, then being promptly horrified at the sight of @Elisa Shakestra

Viva felt even more terrible as Minnie expressed her surprise at Viva's actions. She shook her head. "Minnie, I really am sorry, I don't know what's gotten into me." She blinked at her friend, big blue eyes sad, trying to show she really was sorry for her words. "Although I'm not sure it was a misunderstanding. I could be wrong, but Elisa just seems to ignore me! Trust me, I know when people are doing that to me, I've been bullied my whole life." Looking down suddenly, Viva felt her cheeks burning. Why had she said that? She had promised herself not to whine about her life to anyone. She didn't want pity.

Viva stiffened as the blonde girl stepped out of the corner. Elisa. Eyes wide, Viva immediately felt her stomach drop. Had she heard the whole thing? She gulped, feeling quite horrified. "I-I'm sorry," she said, trying so hard not to cry. Why am I about to cry? I just insulted her! "You just - always seem to ignore me. For no reason." She was making excuses now, when she knew what she had done was wrong.

As Elisa mentioned her family, Viva began to bristle again. "'Prefer not to interact with muggle-borns'? I think it's more then that," she said angrily. The fact that she's defending pure-bloods means she probably agrees with them, Viva thought bitterly. She dropped her scowl, though, when she saw the tear on Elisa's cheek. What have I done? Desperate to prove she wasn't a horrible person, Viva took a step towards the girl, completely forgetting Minnie was in the room. "Look, I'm really sorry I said those things about you and your family. I had no right, considering I had never met you or any other Shakestra. I've had a very hard last few months, and I know that sounds like an excuse, but it's true. I don't know what got into me." She shook her head. I never meant to make her cry. Viva felt her eyes start to well with tears as well, and she hated herself for it.

Minnie froze when Elisa stepped out of where she was hiding. A tear slid from the girl's face and Minnie felt like she needed to prove that she wasn't mean. Especially when Viva could clearly not tell she was making things worse. She cleared her throat and blushed, then stepped forward. "I...look Elisa, I'm very sorry. I'm very sorry, I don't know why I said what I said. I understand how it feels to be a pureblood family that people think are rude and only like other purebloods. I guess I was just happy to not be on the hurtful side of the gossip this time. I know that doesn't excuse my actions, but I just want you to know that I'm sorry." Minnie took a deep breath after she said that, and then looked away as her eyes became teary from her regret. No! No one should see me cry! This is so terrible. And I'm being so selfish too. What if I am one of those pure-nope. Not going there. I just need to fix this. And make sure no one sees me cry. Her face already turning red from the tears streaming down her face she covered her face with her hands and continued looking away. This was the most awkward moment in her entire life.
