The House Cup Archives

It is a new month and with every new month we have a clean slate for earning House Points. As an added incentive for everyone we are going to reward the House with the most points early access to the Pet System. The Pet System is entering its public phase, but there are some bugs and kinks that need to be worked out and the workload of implementing this site-wide needs to be determined. This is where the House Cup winner comes in -- the House that wins will get early access and be able to use the Pet System (so save your galleons) starting April 1. No, this is not a prank.

Additionally, the top three points earners (regardless of House) will be granted a pet of their choice (the most expensive being worth 20 galleons) and have access to the Pet System with the winning House.

Best of luck everyone!

Slytherin has won the House Cup for the month of March. As such the Hogwarts Express is taking these students to Diagon Alley so that they might visit the Magical Menagerie and pick out an animal to love presuming that they have the funds to do so. As for the rest of the students in Hogwarts, they will be able to obtain a pet in a few weeks (May 1).

There have been a few standout students this past month:
Scott Alexander (85 points)
Alan Vanes (78 points)
Luna Choi (67 points)

Due to their outstanding efforts this past month, they are also being brought to Diagon Alley and the Professors (you can claim me or any Professor that consents) are buying you a pet to love in appreciation for all of your hard work. [Don't worry, it is not coming out of my account or anyone elses'.]

Great job everyone. If there is any questions, issues or hiccups with this new system, please owl myself or any HOH. We want to have everything straightened up before this goes site-wide.

We have entered alpha testing for Abilities and Races for Hogwarts.io. As such there is the question of beta testing. Beta testing will be done by the winner of this month's House Cup. This will be the next step in releasing Abilities and Races to the site as a whole. The House that wins the cup will get to enjoy the new system 1 month earlier than everyone else. This is being done for 2 reasons: one to further refine the system and iron out the kinks and secondly to make sure that the staff is not overwhelmed by the influx of applications.

So what do I mean by Races?
This refers to being things such as Part Veela and Part Giant. This also refers to having special skills such as wandless magic, animagus, metamorphmagus, or parselmouth. This will be how you acquire these skills.

Best of luck every house. Vote for your favorite RP site. Get good grades. Try tour best.

Who will be getting the month early opportunity?

The top three point earners from last month, as part of the alpha they will be getting their abilities day 1. The top points earners for this month, regardless of House they will be allowed to get their abilities and races along with the House winners.

Questions? Comments?
Feel free to ask in the FAQ area. I will do my best to answer.

Congratulations to House Gryffindor for earning this month's House Cup. This month there was a unprecedented amount of homework completed, a great deal of community service in the form of voting for us on Top RP websites as well where we reached 2560 legitimate votes this past month, earning us the third place position.

You have earned your prize -- early access for the month of June to the abilities and special race system. The top earners from last month (as previously announced) as well as the top three earners for this month (we had a Slytherin breech the Gryffindor ranks this month) will also have early access.

Great job everyone!

It is a new month and with every new month we have a clean slate for earning House Points. As an added incentive for everyone we are going to reward the House with the most points early access to the Dueling System. The Dueling System is entering its public phase, but there are some bugs and kinks that need to be worked out and the workload of implementing this site-wide needs to be determined. This is where the House Cup winners comes in -- the House that wins will get early access and be able to use the Dueling System starting July 1

Additionally, the top three points earners (regardless of House) will be taken on a murder-adventure and have access to the pre-beta of an Adventuring System that I am working on.

Ravenclaw has won this month's House Cup, earning 707 points this month. This is the first time Ravenclaw has won the House Cup since February and they more than tripled their points to earn this cup!  While school is out, that does not mean that students are not rewarded for their hard work and dedication to their community. As a reward for this month, students that contributed 15 or more points towards this victory will be seeing new chocolate frog cards (only golds) in their inventory.

• For those that earned 15 or more points from Ravenclaw this month, they will get 1 gold chocolate frog card.
• For those that earned 20 or more points from Ravenclaw this month, they will get 2 gold chocolate frog cards.
• For those that earned 25 or more points from Ravenclaw this month, they will get 3 gold chocolate frog cards.

For the top three point earners, regardless of house, I will be sending them a sum of chocolate frog cards (125 cards) so that they can open them and add to their collection.

There is often a question regarding systems and if this house will enjoy access to any systems being released or somehow involved. Members of this house may be contacted regarding the various systems under development during this month for their input.
