Lonely Girl
Morgana had her knees pressed against her chest and she fiercely scribbled on the roll of parchment. It was a lengthy letter to her parents, detailing her time at the wizarding school of Hogwarts. The girl had a mixture of sadness and forced calmness stretched across her face.
Dear Mum and Dad,
My time had Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft and Wizardry has been... an experience.
I have all good grades, Mother, I will send you the grades once I have received them all.
I haven't made any friends, mostly because I'm too focused on note taking and my studies.
Don't worry Dad, I'll find someone to have a conversation with... Maybe.
I find Transfiguration, Potions, Herbology, and Charms to be very interesting. However, Defence Against The Dark Acts seems more like boring lectures about dark wizards then learning any spells to protect ourselves in the real world. And Flying is... Pretty terrifying. Mother, I hope you receive this letter before you go to the African plains to study wild creatures. Dad, please tell Mum to stop sending Xander to the Owlery. He attacked two other owls and severely ripped the last letter you sent me. Please write soon. I love you.
Love, Morgana

Morgana gently folded the letter and slipped it in an envelope. She sealed it and wrote her parents address on the yellowish paper. She sighed and leaned against the bathroom stall, feeling quite lonely.

Lonely Girl
Sarah let out a deep breath as she entered the bathroom. Finally away from the bustling corridors she was so unaccustomed to, she had spent the past fifteen minutes trying to find somewhere quiet so she could hear herself think properly. Despite the noise and somewhat uncomfortable lack of familiarity of the place, Sarah couldn’t help but find that she was overly excited. The overwhelming weight that’d sat uncomfortably on her chest for the past six years since her mother had passed seemed to have miraculously lifted. She’d never before been away from her father or the Lightwood Manor for longer than a few hours, and the foreign sense of freedom cycling her body was welcomed with open-arms.
It took her a few minutes to realise that she wasn’t fully alone, even within what she’d assumed to be an abandoned room of toilets. She strained her ears slightly at what she assumed was a low sigh and froze. She’d yet to speak to anyone here at Hogwarts, other than the small ‘hello’ she’d greeted most people she’d passed with. A small part of her almost lead her back out the door, away from the sound, but her innate curiosity which more often than not took over had her walking towards the stall she assumed someone was in.
She smiled brightly when she caught sight of the girl, knowing that the friends you make at the beginning of the year were often with you for a long time. She noticed the slightly glum expression on the girl’s face and knew she was going to try her very hardest to turn it into a smile. “Hello, I’m Sarah, mind if I join you?” She asked, not waiting for a response before she sat down beside the Slytherin, ignoring the dirty floor. “I would ask why it is you’re in here but I’m assuming it’s a similar reason to myself,” She added with a small chuckle, “Peace and quiet, right?”

Harper released a sigh when she saw the entrance of the toilets come in sight.
This day was a lot, and she needed some place to go and think. Her brother had told her about some places to go when you need to think, and the abandoned toilet was one of them. It seemed no one was heading towards the doors.
She loosened her hair, that fell over her shoulders. She immediately felt some relief.
Harper entered the toilets, and was met with a mirror. She smiled at herself, not looking as bad as she thought she did. Harper smiled and looked to her left. Two girls sitting on the ground. Maybe she'll make friends here, in the toilets. How funny would that be.
"Hi, my name is Harper," Her eyes shifted to the tie's that the two girls were wearing; Slytherin. Harper felt her breath stop for a second. Maybe not new friends? The girls stared at her, waiting for Harper to say more.
"My brother is a Slytherin." She mentally facepalmed. She didn't want to sound so...Hufflepuff.
"His name is Clarck, I don't know if you've met him, he's nice. He just started his 4th year." Oh dear, Harper thought. I'm probably talking to much. She turned around, thinking about another place that would be quiet as well, maybe she should leave them alone.

Sarah let out a light chuckle as she watched the nervous-looking Hufflepuff founder for the right words. Having been raised the way she had, as a Pure-Blood, she was unaccustomed to people being nervous around her; she knew the new addition of the green and silver tie wrapped loosely around her neck would have the same effect as her name. She found the over-the-top stereotypes rather humorous, having been in the school for such a short period of time and already be labelled as intimidating. Her short conversation with Morgana had been pleasant although she knew the girl’s slight lack of social skills (or perhaps just sadness) was bound to make the conversation awaked in the near future so Sarah was glad to have a new person join in.
“Hey, Harper. My name’s Sarah and this is Morgana, nice to meet you,” She said with a friendly smile which she hoped the Hufflepuff didn’t take as sarcastic. “Sadly, I have yet to meet your brother although I’ll definitely keep an eye out,” She added with a small wink before glancing down at the floor beside her. “Feel free to take a seat,” She said, hoping the girl wasn’t too adverse to sitting on a dirty bathroom floor.

Harper let out a sigh of relief, and smiled back at Sarah.
Harper was scared the other people of Slytherin wouldn't be as nice as her brother, because he had been told he is an overly nice Slytherin, which supposedly is rare. But the first impression was good, and Harper sat down besides Sarah, bringing her knees up to her chest. She noticed the quiet girl sitting next to Sarah, not saying a word, and holding an envelope.
"Is she okay?" Harper asked, slightly concerned. Morgana still looked down, not answering.
"I don't know." Sarah said softly. Harper decided to just shrug it off for now. She'll talk when she wants to, no need to rush.
"It's quite big here isn't it? I didn't expect it to be such a big school, or maybe I'm just a small person." Harper said slightly smiling. She noticed that she was talking fast again, this was something she needed to work on.
She took a deep breath and looked around the toilets. It looked old. Harper wondered how many years these toilets were left uncleaned. She saw a few plants growing up the walls, which means that it's very old here. But how are they able to grow here, in a pretty dark room? This is something she'd ask the teacher later.
"So, what are you most excited about?" Harper asked, hoping they'd share the same interests.

Lonely Girl
Reine had been able to avoid what today was so far. Her being distracted with the sorting and meeting new people. But now that she had some time alone, it had crept up on her and now she couldn't stop thinking about it. She couldn't stop remembering how she and her grandmother had come home from the park when she was five, how she hadn't seen her father that night at dinner.
She sniffed, realizing she was still in a public place, and hurried towards the closest door she could find. As her eyes welled up with tears, she pushed the door open, and looked inside. It appeared to be an old restroom. She was surprised to see three other girls sitting on the rather nasty floor even though it looked like the restroom hadn't been used in ages. Reine bit her lip, not wanting to embarrass herself by crying in front of these other girls. Instead, she just stood there for a moment, every now and then wiping at her eyes.
Realizing she was probably making a bad impression of herself, she started regretting having run in here in the first place. "Sorry, I'm just a little homesick..." She said. It was partially true, she did miss her grandmother, but it was the fact that someone else wouldn't be waiting at home for her at the end of the Hogwarts year that made her so sad.

Morgana felt slightly awkward with these two girls chatting with each other like old friends. Before she went to Hogwarts, she never had any friends and she still didn't. She tried to ignore their conversation, but she couldn't help but be slightly curious.
It turned out that this Harper was a Hufflepuff, the house her father's siblings were in, and that she had an older brother in Slytherin. While she never heard of this "Clarck" fellow, but she made a mental note to find him in the common room and say a brief hello.
The other girl, Sarah, was a pureblood and was fairly anti-social like herself, though she seemed pretty nice. They had a fairly decent conversation, but Morgana had simply answered in nods, shaking her head, or a simple grunt.
Morgana had pressed her letter tightly against her chest in the fear that Harper or Sarah would see it and answer her about it. It was topic that she was praying to avoid.
"So, what are you most excited about?" Harper had asked with a slight grin.
Morgana piped up with, "I enjoy Transfiguration, Charms, and Potions greatly. I find that they will be most useful skills in the future. I like Herbology enough, though my professor is a bit of a... klutz. Defense Against The Dark Arts and History of Magic seems pretty boring, sort of interesting, but boring. And Flying..."
Morgana shivered at the thought of being in the air and on a broom again.
Then she realized she just gave a detailed description of her thoughts on all her classes and looked down at her shoes, "So... What about your classes?"

Morgana looked up at the third one and could help but think Great, another one
But instead of speaking her mind, she gave a weak smile and said, "It's alright, you can sit with us... I guess."
She realized the girl was just awkwardly standing there, sniffling to herself. Morgana decided to explain what was happening.
"Well, right now all of us are trying to escape the craziness known as Hogwarts hallways and corridors by sitting here. Now, we are talking about how we feel about our classes. You may sit with us if you like."
The first year watched as the girl slowly came forward and sat down.
Great, we got a small support group Morgana thought bitterly, but once again she buried that thought deep down.
Harper, Sarah, the other girl, and Morgana all sat around in a small circle and all this made some awkward small talk. Morgana tried to slowly slip the letter into her robe without anyone noticing while they continued talking about their classes. As they continued, Morgana just listened and nodded in the hopes that a class would start soon. But to her disbelief, it seemed like the bathrooms had its own version of time that stretched forever.
Maybe I can make acquaintances with these girls before its time for class Morgana thought to herself.

Harper smiled at the new girl.
"It's okay to be homesick, happens to the best of us." She said, trying to comfort the girl.
"What's your name?" Harper asked. The girl didn't respond, but sniffled instead. From the look of her tie, she's a Gryffindor. It started to get awkward, and Harper looked at Morgana, hoping that she would say something in this situation. The silence was almost unbearable, and Harper couldn't take it anymore.
"Anyways," Harper began. "I'm really excited for Defence Against the Dark Arts classes actually, but also for potions, I heard there are so many of them! And I hope that one day I could see some mythical creatures as well, that would be great!" Harper noticed that she was talking fast again. She stopped and took a deep breath. She didn't want her soon to be friends think that she's annoying, and she didn't want to scare them away.
"But we'll see, I just hope school will be fun, and not boring."
Harper caught a glimpse of something yellowish Morgana was putting in her pocket. She looked to the rest of the girls, but it seemed like they didn't notice; so Harper didn't say anything about it. She'd ask Morgana about it, someday.
Brushing her hair back, Harper looked at her watch.
"When does the next class start?"

Morgana looked at Harper with her cold hazel eyes, "It's supposed to start in an hour and a half, so we still have plenty of time to talk. Unless some of us wish to leave."
Everyone just looked at Morgana, who in turn just looked at her shoes once more.
Morgana ended up turning to the new girl of the group and just smiled weakly, "Like Harper said it's okay to be homesick... Take me for an example... I wish my parents dearly."
Morgana quickly bit her tongue, realizing she spoke too much.
"Never mind, so what're your least favorite classes? Mine is... Flying."
Morgana then started to remember her last flying class and bit her lip. She had fallen off her broom and crashed to the ground the last time, which was something she definitely didn't wanna remember. She just listened carefully to the other girl's answers.
However, she noticed the homesick girl, who was wearing a red and gold tie so she was clearly a Gryffindor, was just sitting awkwardly away from the others. Morgana scooted closer and whispered.
"It's really okay. But since you are homesick, that means you'll be even happier to get home. And your parents must be worried sick about sending you here as well. But that means your reunion will be even better. And Hogwarts is pretty great, don't forget."
