A Memorable Meeting
Jade turned as a boy walked up to her "Yes, the tree is very dangerous. I guess no one wants to get rid of it? It is a bit of a monument, theres a lot of history around it." Jade relied.
"I think we should back away from it, I've read books on what it can do and it gives me nightmares. I'm Jade by the way" Jade said backing away from the tree a bit more so she was now a good three meters from the tree. Jade noticed how big of a crowd was forming, Jade had always hatted crowds.
Jade decided to move a bit farther from the main crowd so she walked a bit to the side while walking back hoping to avoid the main crowd. Well, I've certainly done some exploring, even if I got startled by the tree, at least I wasn't in danger of being hit by it thanks to that line on the ground. I think this will make adventure three now, there was getting lost in the halls, that room full of smoke, the greenhouses and now this. That makes four, at least I know that this school isn't boring, though maybe it's a bit active... Jade thought.

“This tree? What’s wrong with-oof!”
As Ike removed his hand from the tree, he was suddenly and violently grabbed and then thrown by the whomping willow, sending him hurtling directly into Geoffrey. It was very subtle, as if the tree was slowly waking up from a slumber.
By some miracle of luck, neither Ike nor Geoffrey were injured by the toss, and the Gryffindor boy simply stood up and dusted himself off before speaking again. “Sorry about that!”
He held out his hand for Geoffrey to get back up again.
Ike’s voice wasn’t British…it sounded American. A hint of a Bostonian accent specifically. He was a foreign student, it seemed.
“Sorry everyone….” he mumbled, wiping some dirt off his brow.
He genuinely didn’t realize the danger that the tree posed. It was purely a ridiculous stroke of luck that had enabled Ike to touch the tree without being harmed in the first place, and even more insane stroke of luck that on the return trip, he hadn’t gotten smashed into a pulp by the tree.
“Why is the tree so angry anyway though? We didn’t do anything bad to it….Or at least I didn’t.”
He raised his hand to his chin, contemplating as he paced around, this time standing next to Nico. He glanced and her and smiled before looking back at the tree again, thinking. His hair was tousled, and his clothes a bit dirty from the landing, but Ike didn't seem to mind.

A Memorable Meeting
When the host of this chaos stood up and ended up next to them, Nico finally remembered his name. Geoffrey Ryan. One with the looks of a young, sweet boy. But truly, he was not. His intentions were only to harm people for his amusement. She didn't forget the chaos that had taken place in the Potions Room. She kept an eye on him, slightly shivering, but she kept her chin up. As he stood next to her, she couldn't help but feel a cold presence. It made her feel uneasy and on edge.
She looked up at Alan and smiled a bit embarassed as he mentioned her new job as Prefect. 'Ah well, yes. I never thought they would hire me but...' She scratched the back of her head, a soft blush rising on her cheeks. '...here I am. Nico Shymane, Prefect of Slytherin.' She couldn't help but smile bright showing off her Prefect badge. Honestly, she was proud of herself. 'How come you are here tho-'
Before she could fully enjoy her little show off moment, the Gryffindor boy underneath the tree received a rather brutal hit by one of its branches. Nico shrieked and held her hands over her mouth observing the scene as the boy went flying, landing right onto Geoffrey. Watching as the Slytherin bully couldn't flee in time from the quite heavy built Gryffindor, Nico quickly set a few steps back.
“Sorry about that!” said the flying boy as he got up, unharmed. He was nice enough to even help Geoffrey back on his feet. How did he not break a finger, twisted his ankle or anything after such a powerful strike? Yes, it was a rather slow hit because of the size of the tree but still! Was this boy made out of rubber...? Nico would probably believe it if he'd say that...
“Why is the tree so angry anyway though? We didn’t do anything bad to it….Or at least I didn’t.”
She couldnt help but stare at him, impressed by both his kindness and by his sheer luck of not being harmed. If it would've been her, standing by that tree, the possibility of broken bones, would've been probably been far greater. As he smiled down at her, Nico couldn't help but blush, quickly averting her gaze at the swinging tree. He did look kinda cute... but that didn't change anything about the situation at hand. She took a deep breath and straightened her back. Setting a few steps forward, facing the group of students that had gathered.
'Alright, everyone.' She pointed at the Huffelpuff that had tried to hide away from the crowd. Nico's keen eye for noticing people did not let her down. 'That means you too, Huffelpuff. You also came here with certain intentions.' She held onto the strap of her bag, her other hand resting on her hip. 'C-Can someone explain to me, why you all came here...' Pointing at the Whomping Willow, as she looked over her shoulder. '...for this.' Nico wasn't heartless. Ofcourse, her curiousity brought her here but this was also one of the places she had to patrol as a Prefect. Why did they all come here though... Trying to hide that she felt nervous in front of a crowd, she waited for their responses...

A Memorable Meeting
Pretty sure everyone noticed that the Willow was no longer moving, including Luna. If it kept attacking, she wouldn't just stand here and watched. Being in trouble was annoying, but just casting some spells wouldn't hurt her or anyone. The only guy with blond hair was confused and he decided to ask a girl, a Hufflepuff one, and that was one of the people that she knew. Jade, the first-year student that she met while wandering around the Corridor. Hadn't met her for quite a long time... Not to mention, most of the students knew about the Whomping Willow, he must be a Muggle-born. If he was a Wizard-born and didn't know about this... Funny. She turned her gaze to Geoffrey, who was next to Nico which meant right near her, but because nothing really happened, her attention was on the guy with red-brown hair again. He and Nico knew each other, that was good. Maybe the shy prefect would calm down a bit when the girl noticed that one of her friends was here, no? At least that was what she guessed.
Didn't want to hear their conversation, she was not that rude, Luna decided to step a few steps back, it wouldn't really help but it was still more polite than listening to their conversation and then acted like she didn't know anything. Right then, Nico suddenly screamed. the girl couldn't help but felt really uncomfortable and regretted to stand near Nico. She was really sensitive to sounds, which was why she always avoided going near loud places. And now her ears hurt. Before she could turn to see what happened, the Gryffindor guy just literally crashed into Geoffrey and it looked... hurt. She wasn't surprised to see that he couldn't flee, it was kind of impossible after all. Though Nico, her and Nico's friend were quite lucky, four of them were standing near one another but Geoffrey was the only person who got into this accident. Because she had already stepped back before those shocking things happened, Nico didn't step on her foot and make both of the prefects fell down and make the situation worse. If Nico did, well then, Luna didn't want to imagine what would happen after.
The Gryffindor guy wasn't hurt at all, and about the young snake... A soft sigh came from her mouth. The lion was pretty lucky, wasn't he? Though this was not the time to compliment about that. Waiting for Nico to finish, Luna nodded, no reason to stand behind her and did nothing. That made her looked like someone who just came here for fun, not for the prefect's job. "Jade, I hope you have a good reason to show up here." Or else, detention was needed. Calling her by her first name sounded quite friendly... and Luna didn't mean to do that. Last time they met, Jade didn't give her her last name, so it wasn't her fault, not at all. "Of course, I would love to hear you guys' reasons too." She looked at each person here, of course, Nico was not included. Would they lie? If they decided to be honest, that would be a lot better. Let's see, what kind of reasons would they tell the prefects?
Just because I said you were bad does not mean that I am mean. It shows that I am honest.

A Memorable Meeting
Geoffrey was astounded by the comments that seemed to flow from those around him. Did their ignorance know no bounds? They were missing a crucial learning moment here. However when he heard one of the students ask the other if they were a muggle born he shook his head in slight disbelief. "With everything that has happened in recent years, that is a rather inappropriate statement to make. Don't you think? Not everyone has an interest in the Flora of our world, nor do I imagine many of our peers have bothered to read Hogwarts, A History or A History of Magic yet." he would say offhandedly his eyes never leaving the youth by the tree.
"The Whomping Willow is a sentient tree. No doubt it regards us as nothing more then pests. Naturally it is defending itself against the threat it senses." the threat being the students, well really anything that got near it. That was when it happened the student who'd immobilized the tree removed his hand from the knot on the root. Almost instantly the tree groaned as it's massive limbs swung out launching the student directly at him. Geoffrey barely had time to brace for impact as his fellow student crashed into him. The student brushed himself off while Geoffrey accepted the hand offered to him. "No harm done." he'd say to the boy, after all they were in the presence of Prefects.
Once he stood he brushed the dirt from his robes & looked over the boy before him with disbelief. He was unscathed, there were few students who could claim such a feat after taking a full frontal hit from the tree. It swayed menacingly as if awaiting them to further attempt to prod it. Then the questions came it seemed yet again he'd found himself in the company of Prefects. "I cannot speak for the others but I was conducting an experiment on its capabilities, striking distance etc. I've never encountered one before so I was most curious to learn more." he gestured to the circle he'd drawn around the trees perimeter in the dirt.
"I cannot speak for others though, I assume curiosity got the better of them. Although no one has caused any harm to the tree nor been harmed by it. Which means you Prefects should really have nothing to worry about." he'd say with a smile before adding. "After all there is no barrier or signage to say such things are not permitted. So I'd see it as an, investigate at your own risk deal." he would calmly say to them in a matter of fact tone.
"After all if it was so dangerous why did none of you Prefects move to get the assistance of a Professor or to aid him?" he'd ask them, although the question was more rhetorical. He already knew enough to ascertain that they'd hesitated & been unable to act. If they situation had needed it they would have been of little help. Although he was learning a great deal about those that currently held the Prefect title. He'd encountered them a few brief times now, each encounter gave him a more in depth understanding of his peers.
Geoffrey chuckled before saying "Not that this isn't interesting but I've learnt all I can about the Whomping Willow for now. I no longer have a need to linger here." his gaze would shift over all those present before he said "I'm sure I'll see you all again before the year is up..." he'd say before picking up his bag & preparing to leave. "Miss Shymane, Miss Choi..." he'd say giving a small nod of his head to them as he passed. Waving behind him to the others, for Geoffrey had no intention of sticking around for a detention if he could help it.

[quote]Alan looked at the other guy, he could not remember him introducing himself, but he stood out with that eye patch of his anyway, it reminded him a bit of a pirate, his parents had told him stories for kids about them at one point. But he knew that usually people would wear them for medical purposes making Alan wonder what had happened or why he was wearing them anyway.
”Why would it be rude? There is nothing wrong with being Muggle born, they are no different from any other wizard,, he asked the guy with a rather confused look crossing over his face as he tilted his head to one side slightly. ”I was just curious”, he added with a cheeky smile before turning to the other person, the blond boy [Lamik], ”You didn't take offense, did you? I certainly didn't mean it in any degrading way!”, he explained, a bit of worry made his muscles tense a bit, however he could not see anything wrong with asking just that.
Then turning to the Slytherin prefect, he shrugged. ”I was just being outside and was wondering what they were doing this close to the Willow, so I checked on them? Alan Vanes, Gryffindor just for you to know!”, he said, tapping the crest on his robes with a accentuating nod and a bright grin. He watched as the eye patch guy turned to walk away, wondering if he would just leave now. What even was his name?

Jade looked around at all the people, there were two girls beside herself, Luna, and another girl who seemed to be a prefect. Then there were the boys, Jade didn't know any of them, though some of them seemed to know each-other.
Jade looked at Luna "I was just exploring the grounds when I stumbled upon the Whomping Willow, I would have walked away but my curiosity got the better of me. When I saw that boy standing so close to the tree I came closer to see what was going on." Jade said in a 'matter of fact' voice.
Jade hoped she wouldn't get in trouble. There was an air around the other girls of a hunter eyeing their pray. Jade crossed her fingers behind her back hoping she wasn't the pray. The last thing she wanted was detention, and from the state of the owlery Jade was pretty sure she knew what the popular punishment was. Jade smiled at them hopefully, trying to emit the same innocence that had stoped most adults from punishing her when she caused trouble.
This reminded Jade of the time she had fallen out of a tree and landed on Mr Green's chicken coop, crushing it. For some reason he never said a word about it, just bought a new coop, and when Jade asked about it he just said it was old and needed replacing anyway. If someone as mean as Mr Green had let Jade off the hook, surely she would be let off for this with a warning... or so she hoped.

The sassy way Geoffrey spoke about the way, annoyed Nico. What was his deal...?
"After all if it was so dangerous why did none of you Prefects move to get the assistance of a Professor or to aid him?"
She balled her fist but kept it out of side. She had to keep her cool as a Prefect. No matter what this boy said, she shouldn't let it get to her. That's probably what he's good at. He walked up and made his way to walk off. Straightening her back, Nico turned towards him. He wasn't getting away with this so easily. 'Geoffrey Ryan. You're not going anywhere.' She folded her arms and set a few steps closer to him. 'You have been agitating the Willows peace. There was no reason for you to just... annoy it. No matter what your intentions are.' She huffed and pointed at him. 'I'm giving you detention, Mr. Ryan.' He didn't get detention from creating the Potion party, but this time would be different.
Looking over at Alan, she pondered for abit. She knew him pretty well. He wouldn't come here to bother the tree. He even tried to lure the other Gryffindor away from the Willows trunk. Even though... that didn't go completely according to plan. He tried his best to keep everyone pretty safe so there's was no reason to give him detention.
Her gaze slid towards the daredevil [Ike]. 'Wh-What's your name? Y-You... cough.. You could've died! The only fitting punishment for you is detention. You know how dangerous the tree is. It's a miracle that you got out of there alive with only mere scratches.'
Her iceblue eyes grabbed hold of a confused young Gryffindor [Lamik]. 'I'm giving you a warning. Since... You apparantly had no idea what this tree is and... don't seem curious to getting closer to it. Next time I won't be so mild...' She smiled softly, but she meant every word she said.
Finally, Nico looked up at the only Huffelpuff [Jade]. 'You. I'm leaving you in the hands of my colleague, Miss Choi. I'm sure she'll make the right choice.' She nodded at her fellow Prefect, signalling her to talk some more to the white haired girl.

"I think we should back away from it, I've read books on what it can do and it gives me nightmares. I'm Jade by the way"
"I'm Lamik. It's nice to meet you, Jade." The boy answered quietly, then quickly turned to Alan.
”Are you a Muggle-born? Because else you probably would have heard about this Willow... It is like asking Muggles to destroy a building or memory from their History... As far as I know, it is protected and advised to stay away from it- so not exactly doing what this other boy did...”
"A muggle born- Oh. Do you mean whether or not my parents were wizards? Yes, I am a "muggle-born then."
"With everything that has happened in recent years, that is a rather inappropriate statement to make. Don't you think? Not everyone has an interest in the Flora of our world, nor do I imagine many of our peers have bothered to read Hogwarts, A History or A History of Magic yet."
Lamik looked at Geo, not sure of what he meant. "What happened in recent years? Why would the question be offensive?" As soon as he spoke, Lamik saw Ike fly through the air and quickly close the distance between him and Geoffrey. He winced as the two made contact, but let a sigh of relief escape from his lips once he realized that neither was hurt. "There should still be a sign or something, shouldn't there?! The first years curiosity about what had happened during "recent years" was momentarily overtaken by the shock at his surroundings.
After being asked what he was doing there, the boy started responding but was cut off by others speaking. Eventually, he just decided to listen until somebody addressed him, reasoning that pushing into a conversation and interrupting the kids who appeared to be prefects wasn't the ideal solution to the trouble he has been in.
"I'm giving you a warning. Since... You apparently had no idea what this tree is and... don't seem curious to getting closer to it. Next time I won't be so mild..."
Strangely enough, a part of Lamik was disappointed that he was not put in detention. After all, detention in a magical school couldn't be anything like detention back home. His more logical side reasoned that it may be a lot worse though, so the boy just nodded and apologized. "I swear I wasn't trying to agitate it. I was just curious."
Im really sorry it took so long for me to answer. I was traveling for two weeks, then when I came back to the country I live in was at war for a few days. Directly after that finals season started.

A Memorable Meeting

Speakless. That was how Luna was right now. Ryan just literally mocked people who hadn't read the book "A History of Magic" yet. She agreed with him though, that was true, although the feeling of being mocked wasn't really nice. She doubted that there were people who liked being mocked, it didn't feel good at all. How weird.
Not wrong again. She didn't think the Whomping Willow was here just to be the view of this place since it wasn't that beautiful. This tree could be pretty dangerous for students, especially those who were curious and didn't know how dangerous the Willow could be. This tree had to be here to protect something or someone. But what was that? Protect the students? Unpossible, as if someone would attack this place when they knew this tree was here. But it was none of her business, and she didn't want to find the answer by risking her life. Or even going to the Hospital Wings, she didn't want to either. She still had a lot of years to spend in Hogwarts, she would prefer to do it when she got stronger, and when she could know how to break the rules peacefully...
Alan Vanes? No idea who this person was, she had never heard of him or met him before. This boy didn't seem like he was lying, and Nico would probably totally believed in him, based on her personality. Or at least, based on what Luna knew about her colleague. Sadly, Nico didn't have anything to prove that he was lying, or he wasn't. Maybe giving a warning would be the best to solve this situation.
And Ryan literally broke the rule, again, how sad. Really wonder if he broke the rule every day? Three times meeting, three times breaking rules or doing something bad. It didn't seem like he was regretting it... Nico would probably know how to solve this. Luna raised her eyebrows a little, wondering when would her colleague spoke up. Was she just going to let him leave easily like this? That would be disappointing, to be honest.
How honest the Hufflepuff was. Fair enough, she would give Jade detention if she was lying, but Luna could see that she wasn't. Lucky for her, wasn't it? Although the Slytherin didn't have any bad expression with this girl, she had no intention in making things unfair. Life was unfair, but she still wanted to balance it.
Did Nico do this on purpose? Knowing that she and Jade knew each other, so she wanted to test her? It wasn't Luna's fault that she doubted Nico. After all, they weren't closed, although both of them were Slytherin Prefects and showed up here together. They had only met each other at the potion party that Ryan hosted, and that was it. Although she backed her colleague up that time, it was all because they both were Slytherin Prefects. No more reasons. But she wasn't the type that would point something like this out, especially in front of so many people.
"Miss Jade," ...She should have asked the Hufflepuff her last time, "With the fact that you did not try to hide the truth or mess with the tree, I assume a warning is the best option. However, I would prefer you to find a prefect instead of just standing there watching, waiting for something interesting to happen." To be fair, before became a prefect, Luna usually avoided these places not to bring herself into troubles. Jade should learn this as well...
