Tantacu-What! Open

Jade was walking through the grounds enjoying some fresh air. She decided to go over to the greenhouses because why not. 

She was just passing one of the greenhouses when she heard something heavy hit the floor. She ran to the window to see if she could see anything but the second she reached she jumped back in surprise as she heard someone calling for help.

Jade ran to the greenhouse door and opened it, there on the floor was a boy. Then Jade saw why he had yelled, a plant was wrapped around his leg and dragging him to what looked like fangs. Jade was pretty sure it was venomous Tentacula, but she couldn't really tell.

She quickly drew her wand but she didn't know what spell to do, so far she only knew Wingardium Leviosa, Flipendo and maybe Fumos, but she wasn't sure Flipendo would work again. She only had one, possibly helpful, choice.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" Jade yelled. The boy floated into the air, Jade tried to pull him out of the plants grip but it had him too tight. Jade took a step towards him but quickly drew back as vines reached out to grab her too.

At least for now the boy was safe... ish in the air, though the plant was still holding him tight. "Well, at least you're not going to be eaten or something. But I can't move or you'll drop to the floor so any ideas?" Jade asked in a shaky voice.

Donny was petrified! The plants arms were floating, carrying him up into the air. His legs were burning with sharp pains, and he was nauseous and flying in midair. "Okay! Uh... just-softly put me down, and i'll make a-a run for it!" he yelled. He didn't have the slightest idea how that was going to work, but he had to try something. He looked down and shrieked, the pain getting worse and worse every second. He really didn't mean for this to happen, and he especially didn't mean to endanger the life if someone who was trying to help him. He pulled his legs in painfully, trying to avoid the menacing fangs before him, slimy, and ripe with hunger. He looked at the girl, painful tears in squinting eyes, he needed to encourage her to trust herself. 

"It's-argh! It's-okay!" he said, looking at the worried expression on the girls face. He knew he had a trip to the hospital wing coming, and he would be fine, but at the moment it wasn't the best time to be calm. He reached for his wand, unable to do much with it for he hadn't known any other defensive spells just yet. Donny had an idea! He mustered all the strength he had and kicked the Tentacula right in the fangs. It made a piercing scream, as if it couldn't see, and Donny turned to the girl, looking her bravely in the face.

"We need to distract it!" he yelled, trying to take advantage of the plant, and he painfully tried to wriggle out of the thorns. "Try... uh, I read about- the spell, Fumos! Yes! Try that!" he said, hopefully...      

Jade gulped, a blast of smoke might help, or it could end like it did before with the room full of smoke and both of them in the grip of the plant. Jade looked at the boy, she had seen him before, he was a Hufflepuff. He gave Jade a smile, at that moment Jade realised she had no choice. If she didn't do it they would both be in its grip and she doubted there was anyone who could get there in time to save them.

Jade raised her wand and pointed it at the plant. She lowered the boy a bit so he wouldn't fall too far to the ground when she cast her next spell. "Fumos!" It had worked, a burst of smoke came out of her wand distracting the plant. The boy fell at the same moment the smoke had hit the plant.

Jade ran over to the boy, in its confusion the plant had loosened its grip on him. Jade grabbed him by the arm and shoulder and helped pull him away from the plant. A few of the plants vines lashed at her legs almost making her fall over.

Turning to the boy still struggling out of the plants vines Jade asked through gritted teeth "What in the name of Merlin were you thinking!? You could have gotten killed!"  

Donny was terrified. The plants were now trying to take a grip of her and he felt horrible as it did so. His legs were weak, but he was far away from the plant that he could grip his wand. "It's okay!" he said loudly, pulling her painfully away from the grip of then plant. Just then, he knew what he was going to do! He saw that the plant had broken through it's containing pot to attack the two of them. He whipped his wand out, pointing it at the shattered pot. "Reparo!" he yelled. The spell shot out of his wand, emitting a trance of time to the pot, as it picked up and spiraled into a full, repaired pot. The plant was jerked upright, away from the two and it struggled it's restraints. 

He gripped the girls hand, and pulled her through the smoke and vines, and out of the now foggy, greenhouse door. He let go of the girls hand, toppling to the ground for his legs were still weak with thorns, and tears. "Aghrr!" he exclaimed, wiping the pained tears from his eyes. "T-thank you!" he said finally, for if the girl hadn't walked in and helped him, he'd probably be worse off than torn up...  

Jade crouched by the boy "Those look bad, don't worry, I'll take you to the hospital wing. I'm Jade by the way, Jade Murphy" With that Jade stood up and grabbed the boy by the arm hoisting him up. 

"Put your weight on me, if I start walking too fast let me know and I'll slow down" Jade said putting the boys arm over her shoulder, this was a bit awkward as Jade was a fair bit taller than him. Jade started up to the castle, this was going to be a long walk as Jades legs were starting to burn from were the plant had cut her legs.

"Why were you in the greenhouse in the first place" Jade asked in as sweet a voice she could muster. They were going to be stuck with each other for quite awhile, some conversation might ease the building tension. 

Now I've almost died in a room full of smoke and almost been eaten by a carnivorous plant. This is going to be a long year if I keep this up. Though on the bright side I have met quite a few people. I do kinda miss the solitude of home... Jade thought her expression turning colder the more she thought.

Donny was surprised by Jades sweet offerings, as she put his arm around her shoulders. He felt sincerely bad about what he had done. He had almost gotten her killed, and she was now helping him to the hospital wing. "Thank you- so, much..." he trailed off, the pain kind of getting to him. He looked down at the girls legs, they were almost cut up as much as his in a sense. "I- I did't want you to get hurt, you didn't- you really didn't have to-" he said, his emotions now taking over. He sighed as they two stood silently, trudging up the steps to the entrance hall. 

It was a long ways to go, but he thought a little chatting might take his mind at ease of the pain. "So... what were you doing-not saying I was doing anything productive," he asked with a slight smirk. He had ultimately been looking for another prank plant for a few slytherins he'd been planning to get back for a few weeks. He looked at Jade, his glasses fogged up and cracked once more. He should probably fix that too! Before the girl spoke, he pulled his wand out of his pocket, "Occulus Reparo!" he said, his glasses looking good as new... 

RP moved to the Hospital wing! Venomous Aftermath...

Jade watched as the boy's glasses were fixed, it reminded her of her Dad, he used to use that spell all the time. "Nice spell, I suppose you break your glasses a lot then? As for your question, I was just out for a stroll, trying to take my mind off things. It certainly did the trick" Jade said with a laugh at the end.

They were now nearing the castle gates. Jade suddenly felt as though a thousand eyes were watching her. What would the other students think of her and this boy, all scraped up coming from the grounds.  This was yet another incident Jade didn't plan on telling her parent about, though she would have to tell them about some mishaps. There was no way they would believe she hadn't gotten in trouble.

As they neered the hospital wing Jade looked out one of the windows to see the sunset, a sight Jade would never get enough of. "Do you prefer sunrise or sunset?" Jade asked in a somewhat misty voice. She didn't know why she asked this question, after all, she didn't even know which one she liked more. 

As they reached the hospital wing Jade felt a sudden rush of relief. soon she would be on a bed and the stinging would stop. Jade glanced dow at their legs to see they looked quite similar, though the boys were deeper. "Huh" Jade had just realised this was the worst she had ever seen her legs.
