Jade ran up the stairs to the Astronomy Tower. Her heart was pounding against her chest and tears were streaming down her cheeks, the letter still in her hand. Jade was running fast, so fast that she fell over. She paused for a moment and lay there before picking herself up. She reached the door to the top of the tower and pulled it open.
It was a Saturday and Jade had just received a letter from her Dad. It was Lunch time, in fact Jade was about to head to Lunch when she got the letter. She wasn't hungry anymore.
She walked over to one of the walls and leaned on it looking at the grounds, though she couldn't see much as she was still crying. She stood there for a few moments before looking down at the letter in her hand.
Unfolding it she saw tear stains on it, some form her and some from her Dad. Jade folded the letter and stuck it in her satchel before resting her head in her hands and crying some more. This reminded her of the first time it had happened. Jade had been in the forest when she heard her scream. The scream still sent shivers down Jade's spine.
"She said she would be careful, she promised. If she keeps this up..." Jade's voice was dry and croaky.

A Slytherin was climbing the stars to the Astronomy Tower. She knew it was against the rules, but it was becoming a personal motto of hers that "rules were made to be broken". Her feet made no noise as she set them down softly, step after step. She... she wanted to see the sky from a nice angle.
Her name was Koko. Her hair was loose and flowing behind her as the wind caused it to cascade into separate ringlets, and she wore the same clothes she'd worn earlier that day--not her school uniform. She was going to get in trouble, she knew that, but... It was worth it to have the sizzle that being a rebel gave her. As she stepped up each one of the stairs, she heard a noise. Some girl talking to herself--and maybe she was speaking between sobs!?! Koko did feel a little concerned, but when she was unsure of something she could come across as rude.
She rounded the corner at the top to see a child with pale hair hunched over something, crying. Koko felt a pang of empathy--she'd sat in the Owlery sobbing before. However, her awkwardness began to take over, as well as her sense of self-preservation. Taking one step closer and letting her boot click against the hard stone floor, she said, "I really don't think you're supposed to be up here." Just a small sentence, but having it said so harshly might either make the girl sob more, or perhaps she would try to give Koko a reason why she could be up there. A reason why Koko shouldn't berate her.
A smirk crossed over her face as she glanced down at the girl. Softening her voice, she decided that she really didn't want to hear these annoying sobs. "Don't cry, though," Koko whispered. "I'll keep watch." She was telling the truth--she actually did go over to the entrance to the tower to be a mock lookout. "You can tell me what happened. I won't judge you," Koko called softly over her shoulder as she made her way to the doorway. She certainly hoped that she could make this girl feel better. "I'm Koko, by the way." She sat down on the edge of the tower, letting her legs dangle.

Jade lifted her head out of her hands. "I'm Jade, I'm pretty sure theres nothing wrong with being here, it is Saturday after all. I got a letter from my Dad and... it... it brought back memories." Jade replied choosing her words carefully.
She still had tears streaming down her face so she quickly wiped them but they just kept coming. "If your here for the view I can go, I doubt you'll want to listen to a sobbing girl. Huh, I just realised this is the first time I couldn't stop crying, what is the world coming to?" Jade replied.
She knew that Koko may well mean good, but she didn't really trust her with what was going on, after all she had only just met her now. Besides she had seen the girl and the Slytherin table and in class and she didn't seem the type to care for a crying girl. She seemed more the type to merely want a crying girl to be quiet. And Jade was happy to oblige if that was the case. She was used to running away from her problems.
Jade turned and took a step to the door only to find her knee hurt and almost gave way. Jade looked down at her legs in surprise. Her knees were bleeding Darn, must have scraped them when I fell, I guess I ought to go to sick bay... Jade thought, though she didn't really want to go to the sick bay.
Btw Jade is wearing jean-shorts and a blue t-shirt.

[quote]The Astronomy professor was sitting at his desk grading some of the assignments the students had submitted, he was just reading through one of a younger Slytherin, making him furrow his brows as he let his quill fly over his paper, dipping in in dark red ink occasionally to mark one or two mistakes in grammar or adding a few missing notes, where the student had missed out some detail or wrote too much that was not important.
He stopped in his hand when he noticed the door being opened, twice within minutes making him raise a brow. Was this some kind of date? He clearly had stuff to do here, which was the only reason this door had not been locked safely. It usually was indeed locked for students even though some tricky once worked around it by opening the door with their spells. As long as they did not break anything he would not get mad, he was annoyed though as the rules were there for a reason.
This is why he after some silence raised and stepped outside the tower onto the stargazing platform. ”May I ask what you two think you're doing up here?”, he asked, his face blank as it could be.

Oh. So a professor actually was in here. Koko probably hadn't seen him before climbing up onto the stargazing platform. Professor Barclay seemed to be annoyed at the very least. Still, he didn't seem to be angry with the two Slytherins. Koko thought about her response; she knew that if she said anything wrong, she could provoke a reaction from either person, and that reaction could be an unwanted one."May I ask what you two think you're doing up here?"
She saw the white-haired girl kneeling, with scraped knees. Koko felt a wave of concern wash over her; it wasn't Koko being empathetic, but it was really her just being curious. She hadn't ever scraped her knees before. Elbows, those were another story, but she didn't have any reason to scrape her knees. "Are you okay?" Koko asked, knowing that the other child likely wasn't, but she still asked anyway.
To Professor Barclay, the golden-eyed girl responded with, "You may very well ask what we are doing here--you are the professor, after all," Koko said in a smart-alecky sort of manner. "I had been going on... a walk, of sorts, and was coming up to the tower to see if it were unlocked. If it wasn't, which it wasn't, I would walk in. I heard her--" Koko gestured indifferently to the sobbing girl, "So I decided to find out what was wrong, taking multiple approaches to try and find a solution. I hope you can forgive my intrusion," the Slytherin finished, her voice soft as usual. She regretted backtalking to a professor, but it was just part of her nature to be a bit of a smartmouth. She smiled sheepishly and turned her attention back to the white-haired Hufflepuff--Jade, she'd have to remember that. "You seem to have scraped your knees. I probably have a few bandages in my pocket if you would like any," she offered.

Jade looked up at Koko "Yea please, I really don't want to go to the hospital wing with something as silly as my knees." Jade replied smiling. She tried once more to stop the tears but the just kept coming despite her calm voice and smile.
"As for your question Professor. I didn't know we weren't supposed to go up here, I was just looking for a place as high up as I could find and this one fit the bill. If we're not supposed to be here then I'll go find somewhere els." Jade said.
Jade really didn't want to get in more trouble, she had already been in multiple mishaps. Though none of them by choice, she had always been like a magnet to trouble. This had always annoyed Jade, she just wanted to go at least a week without doing anything strange.
Oh well, the professor Barclay doesn't seem too angry, maybe he'll let us off with a warning. Jade thought looking at her knees. They didn't seem to be bashed us that badly, she had done worse. But then again, to some one who hadn't been is as many accidents as Jade had they would probably look quite bad. Jade then felt a sudden stab of guilt, what if there was blood left on the stairs. Jade would just have to clean it up if she saw any.

[quote]The professor was not that amused at all, frowning at the two students who decided it was such a smart idea to just walk up here. ”Me being up here means that I have the wish to grade up here or spending time here and both of you are supposed to know that you are not supposed to venture up here, I am pretty sure that if you did not sleep in my class you would know these rules.”, he explained calmly, with an undertone of slight annoyance.
He gave the girl with the wound a look, it did not seem to be serious, yet it made the professor let out a sigh. ”Bring her to the Hospital Wing if she needs treatment, but both of you are not gonna stay up here, if you have no reason to do so., he instructed them as he shoved his hands into his pockets, a few strands of his russet hair falling into his pale face. He shook it slightly to get rid of them, a glance allowed him to see the growing moon making his frown deepen. It was a matter of days and he already felt the strain as his concentration seemed to waver.

She nodded as the professor spoke. "Yes, sir," she added politely. He spoke with a tone of annoyance, and the first year didn't want to contribute to his mood. She motioned at the other girl--Jade--to follow her out of the tower. Footsteps sounded as Koko walked, tossing a glance back over her shoulder at the Professor. "I'm sorry to have bothered you," Koko told him.
She smiled at Jade. Koko reached into the pocket of her robes and pulled out two Band-Aids. "Here," she said softly, holding out the bandages to Jade. "These might help."
She glanced around once more, bending down to Jade's level so that Jade might be able to grab them. Koko then paced around a few moments before she headed out of the tower. Maybe she could come back up here another time... The sense of being so high up, so powerful, made her feel strong. And perhaps it made her feel like she could control the chaos burning inside of her. Her feet found their way down the stairs, and she smiled as she ran down the stairs, heading to the Slytherin Dormitory. Her hair flew behind her as she raced along, hoping to meet someone there.
