@Sigrid Johnson

Violet was content, that would have been an understatement.
'Friends' were something she never really had. Sure she had a conversation with her parents' friends daughter, but Violet was sure the girl did not consider her as a friend at all.
Sigrid seemed to be friendly though and Violet was ready to give her best. She was scared, scared that she might sound rude or ruin her friendship in near future.
Violet silently scolded herself, it was not the time to think about this. She thought if her mother would have been here, she would have scolded her for overthinking.
It was her very first day of Hogwarts, but she already missed her mom and dad.

That's when Sigrid spoke rather seriously almost scaring her.
To her, Violet replied "Of course, we wouldn't want you sleeping on the plate now would we? And I'm so sleepy too, the journey was indeed exhausting."

She stood up just as Sigrid did, pushing her chair back into the table when Sigrid decided to continue talking.

Violet replied, "Hey we don't need to worry about meeting somewhere after all we are in the same house." "We can get the same dorm!", Violet exclaimed rather enthusiastically. She continued, "Though I know bits about the castle, I really don't know anyone else here as well, so the girlies who don't know anyone else stick together !?"

The Hufflepuff Table 2023-2024
It is Chelsea's first year at Hogwarts. Sorted in Hufflepuff she nervously walks over to the Hufflepuff table and sits down by herself. Before she knew it all her fellow house members were welcoming her with open arms, so many she can't keep up with everyone's name. After the excitement of the sorting ceremony was over everyone started to quiet down and enjoy the over abundance of food before their eyes. All the colors and smells, it all smelled so good and tasted even better. She was so nervous, but very outgoing and had no problem making friends.

As dinner came to an end final announcements were done it was time for the Hufflepuff Prefect to take his housemates to the dorms. Chelsea so excited showered, put her stuff in its proper place for the year it was off to sleep. Excited and full of energy and excitement from the day it was a little hard for her to contain herself enough to fall asleep so she stared out the window at all the beautiful stars in the sky counting them until she fell asleep, something she learned from her father. When she was younger it was never easy for her to go to sleep when it was time so her father told her to count all the stars in the sky knowing she would never be able to do it, but she always tried.

"HUFFLEPUFF!"

Emily slipped off the chair and was beckoned by the cheers of the Hufflepuff table that came to welcome their new addition. She quickly skid down the steps towards the crowd, passing the Gryffindor and Ravenclaw tables.

On her way past she beamed a quick smile at Emmanuel as he sat at the Ravenclaw table. She was not only hopeful for him, but after the Sorting Hat's consideration, she felt a bit hopeful for what was to come with her new group and for the rest of her time at Hogwarts.

As she sat down, she shook hands with a few others at the table, receiving "hellos" and "welcomes" from both new and older students. The Hall fell silent again as the list of names continued to roll out for the Sorting Ceremony. Now that the moment had passed, she felt much more comfortable. It felt as if an entire weight had been lifted off her chest, a very strong comparison from the time-stopping, fast-beating heart state she was in when her name called. It felt as if it never happened. Now, one could dare say she was becoming more excited for what was to come next. Now that she was officially a part of the Hogwarts family, she was ready to begin her real journey.

The Hufflepuff Table 2023-2024
Autumn didnt have to wait very long to get sorted due to her name Starting with ‘A’ and ‘C’. Once her name was called from the long scroll of awaiting first years, she made her way up to the sorting hat with a wobble. Many pairs of eyes stared at her awaiting the hats response. With every second waiting, she got more anxious.

The world around her seemed to blur as the Great Hall was silent once more for the Sorting Hats decision ... "Hufflepuff!". A sigh of relief escaped her lips. The world came back into focus as Autumn sped walked to the table full of yellow robes.

A small smile on her face as she sat down near the front of the table towards the teachers, back to the warming fireplace watching on as the sorting continued. Greeted with smiles and quick introductions from her fellow housemates.

"Finally, one hurdle crossed, the adventure begins" she whispered to herself with the only thing on her mind now, dinner.

The Hufflepuff table stretched almost the length of the Great Hall, on this table the food that seemed to materialise was everything you could think of and more. This was almost a decision paralysis time trying to pick portions of everything, but she realised with a small laugh that she has more than enough time at Hogwarts to try all the food that this magical school can give her.

Sarah sat down fairly quick, excited being an understatement to how she was feeling. She was fidgeting in her chair, looking around at the other students. My word, it was all so magnificent! A roasted dinner's smell hit her nose and she looked at the plates in front of her, eyes wide with pure awe. This place felt too much like a dream.

She looked down, gaze following the floating candles. She wondered if wax would drip onto the food. Probably not. Honestly, these wizards really have everything figured out. From the moment that nice lady showed up at the door with her letter, she just could not stop feeling astonished with the entirety of the Wizarding World. She remembers only minutes ago when she saw this enormous place for the first time. She looked upon the castle, mouth agape and eyes wild, with a hint of intimidation. Did she truly belong here?...Was there a mix-up? Surely, she, some not well-off kid from the Midlands couldn't be a wizard right? She'd heard the whispers and tales from the kids around her. Some of them had family members who'd attended for centuries. But you know what? She may be the first in her family, but she's going to have a good time. She's sure of it.

Immediately, Sarah was overcome with the a boisterous feeling as she was meet with a chorus of welcoming phrases and joyful grins. The house of the fair and kind, eh? She could get used to this. So, she did the two things her brain was telling her to do most..

The Hufflepuff Table 2023-2024
After the Sorting Hat announced that I was now a Hufflepuff, I quickly made my way to their table. Seeing an empty seat, I sat down rather swiftly, feeling joyful, euphoric, radiant, smiling... these adjectives hardly do justice to what I was feeling at that moment.

I fidgeted in my chair, watching as other students were sorted into different houses and applauding with the other students at my table when someone was sent to Hufflepuff. In truth, for me, it was so magnificent and exhilarating!

The smell of a roast dinner wafted into my nose, and I looked at the plates in front of me, my eyes wide with pure admiration, trying to remember if they were already filled when I sat down. This place felt too much like a dream.

I glanced up, my eyes following the floating candles. I wondered if the wax would drip onto the food. Probably not. Honestly, these wizards really have it all figured out. From the moment that kind lady showed up at the door with my letter, I couldn't help but be amazed by the entire wizarding world and how vast it is.

I remember just a few minutes ago, seeing this enormous place for the first time. I stared at the castle, mouth agape and eyes wide, with a hint of intimidation. Do I really belong here? Was there a mistake? I shook my head to dispel those negative thoughts, reminding myself that I am half a wizard after all!

I heard the whispers and stories of children around me. Some of them had family members who had been here for centuries. With my mother coming from a line of Pure-bloods, I'm sure many of my family members have attended Hogwarts as well.

Immediately, I was overwhelmed by a sense of excitement as I was greeted by a chorus of welcome phrases and joyful smiles. So, I grinned broadly, feeling the excitement building within me, and took a deep breath, ready to embrace every new adventure that came my way.

The Hufflepuff Table 2023-2024
"Hufflepuff!" as the Sorting Hat announced my House for the next seven years, my mind was filled with thousands of questions, realising that my house was different as my brother. Gryffindor symbolises courage, bravery and determination; Hufflepuff, on the other hand, symbolises hard work, dedication, patience, loyalty, and fair play. To be honest, never in a million years would I except myself in Hufflepuff, together with the two of my best friends I've just met in the Hogwarts Express. Still, that was enough to kill my day for the week. Feeling disappointed, I trudged towards the Hufflepuff House table. I took my seat in the Great Hall, and to my surprise the Hufflepuffs were just as friendly as they seem: I was immediately greeted by some friends and mentors who were, in fact, sitting beside me! I guess Hufflepuff isn't so bad after all, I thought to myself as I realised how different Gryffindor and Hufflepuff is.

I heaved a sigh of relief. Glancing around the table, she'd just realised that this was too good to be true: filled with everything a First-Year would never dream of, each of the houses' tables consist of roast chickens, roast beefs, Cauldron Cakes, Yorkshire Puddings, sausages... more than what I would've thought of. As an easy-to-go person, I gave my thanks to my family, my parents in silence, wondering how they are doing right now, and of course Andre. As we dug into our feast, the names of other wizards and witches were called out one by one. I grinned as the thought of myself being the Potions master in class came to my mind. I really enjoyed Potions; perhaps one day I will be as good as Professor Slughorn. I stood and prayed to God for this is the start of my wizarding adventure. This is the start of everything, and I wouldn't want to spoil it again.

The Hufflepuff Table 2023-2024
Rose Wemberly sat at the Hufflepuff table, her heart still fluttering from the thrill of the Sorting Ceremony. The warm welcome from her new housemates had melted away her initial anxiety, replacing it with a comforting sense of belonging. She glanced around the Great Hall, taking in the lively atmosphere. The enchanted ceiling, now displaying a twinkling night sky, filled her with a sense of wonder.

The feast had begun, and the table was laden with an array of delicious dishes. Rose helped herself to a bit of everything, her appetite piqued by the excitement of the evening. She savored each bite, the flavors a delightful reminder of how special this place was. The chatter and laughter of her housemates enveloped her, making her feel like she was part of a large, welcoming family.

As she ate, Rose couldn't help but think about the journey ahead. She wondered about the classes she would take, the friends she would make, and the adventures that awaited her within the castle's ancient walls. Her thoughts were a whirl of anticipation and curiosity, but beneath it all, she felt a growing sense of confidence. This was where she was meant to be.

Between bites, she pulled out her notebook, a gift from her brother, and jotted down her thoughts and impressions of the evening. The act of writing soothed her, grounding her in the moment. She smiled to herself, feeling the magic of Hogwarts settle around her like a warm, protective cloak. Rose knew she was ready to embrace this new chapter of her life with an open heart and an eager spirit.
