Gazing curiously over at the dirty blonde hair boy. Helena admitted she seemed rather nice though by the way he spoke she could tell that he was nervous in a way.

Helena was not sure why though? After all, the boy did not seem familiar unlike many of the pureblood kids that she has been around. So this boy seemed to intrigue Helena just slightly. Sea blue eyes squinted curiously over at the boy. As he introduced himself as Harley. Harley is quite an interesting name for a young boy like him. Helena was curious, Harley seemed rather nice though confused by the way it looked.

Helena sat up a tad straighter tilting her head to the left side, her blonde locks dangling like vines as she smiled a small rather bashful smile.

“ It is a pleasure to meet you Harley. Hope we can get along fine. After all, we will be in this house for the next six years together and may as well get to know each other should we not.”

Helena spoke softly in a sweet soft as feather tone the elegantness of her tone seemed to carry slightly as she continued to gaze at the boy rather intrigued. Watching him go back to his food the young girl also returned to hers enjoying the gentle chatter of students rambling on and about around her. It seemed as if Hogwarts would be semi peaceful or at least the golden haired girl hoped it would be rather peaceful if it was possible.

Breaking out of her thoughts the young girl's attention went back to Harley as he spoke again asking a question. Helena tilted her head to the left side once again chewing the inside of her cheek in thought she was not sure how to answer that of course every house was different and were based on certain key traits. Everyone knew Hufflepuffs were Loyal and caring. But Helena was not sure if she was any of that, but the girl also knew she was not cunning or ambitious like her fellow family members.

Sitting up straight once again Helena gazed over towards Harley choosing her words fairly carefully. After all she wanted to help the boy out slightly it was the least she could do after all.

“Hufflepuffs are known for their loyalty and kindness to others. Suppose one would say the houses are different due to the main traits one possesses: the sorting hat chooses what fits us best even if we do not see it yet after all the hat knows best.”

Helena spoke softly, answering Harley's question the best she could. The young boy seemed to make Helena rather curious. For him not to really understand much he must be new to this whole magical thing. Helena thought quietly before curiosity got the best of her.

“Harley if you do not mind me asking, but are you new to this whole magic thing?

Helena questioned the young boy quietly though she meant nothing but good intentions she was rather interested. Harley seemed rather nice and the young girl wished to help him out a bit if he needed it to adjust better to Hogwarts life after all the young girl would feel bad if he seemed to struggle slightly. Plus they are in the same house so it made sense to look out for each other after all.

A sweet smile replaced Harley's look of confusion as Helena gave her insight into the house. It made a little more sense to him now; maybe he did fit in after all. Although he still found it difficult to wrap his head around the sorting hat.

He considered the girl's question for a moment, ever so slightly turning his head away as he did so. Helena pretty much hit the nail on the head with that one. Was he really that out of the loop that she could pick up on it so quickly? Well, it seemed like it.

The young Hufflepuff cocked his head towards the golden-hair girl with an awkward grin on his face. "It's really that obvious?" he joked. Of course it was, and he suspected it would be eventually. "Yeah, I am." The smile faded slightly as he was reminded of home. All the time he spent without magic before his whole world turned upside down when his acceptance letter finally came. Learning of his mum's pureblood heritage, that he was indeed different from the other kids he went to school with. It was still quite a shock, even now, even here at Hogwarts.

"Did you grow up with magic?" His curiosity grew. She seemed to know a lot more about Hogwarts than him, though he didn't quite understand why she'd be so nervous if she was already accustomed to magic and the like.

Whatever the case, she was kind, trying to help Harley with his questions. But she was also right. They would evidently be in the same house for the rest of their time at the school. It only made sense they got to know each other better.

Helena gazed softly at the young boy that was in front of her. The golden haired girl examined him quietly. Harley seemed rather nice, but at the same time he seemed to look a tad upset. Figuring it was because the young boy was not used to magic at all. Being raised in the pureblood community Helena had no interactions with Muggles or half-bloods not until she arrived here at Hogwarts, first the train ride with Rebecca Lark and now meeting Harley. Helena was definitely curious after all not being around the Muggle world the girl seemed rather curious.

Helena twiddled with her form thinking of the proper wording to answer Harley’s question. Of course the young girl did not expect him to know anything about magical families. The young girl could not fault him for not recognizing the Rose family name. Helena hummed softly smiling a soft closed mouth smile. Her sea blue eyes sparkled slightly as the young girl brushed her golden bangs from in front of her eyes.

“I am from a pureblood family. The Rose family are among the few that have not been corrupted yet by ummm non-magic folks. Rather confusing in a way. My family is a tad old school. Everyone has married someone from a pureblood family. I don’t see the big deal though after all everyone has magic in a way.”

Helena spoke softly, answering Harley's question the best she could. The young girl could not feel a tad bad. She did not want to seem blunt or rude, but the young boy did ask a question and the young girl did answer to the best of her abilities. After all, what would have been better was lying or telling the truth. Helena figured the truth was better than not at all.

A soft smile curled onto Harley's lips as Helena described her family, not too fussed about the views they held. After all, to him what mattered was how she felt and acted and so far she's been very accepting. "Me mum's a pureblood," he chimed in after she finished. "Or at least that's what dad said. I haven't seen her in a while... But it's no worries, me dad's all I need." His expression remained the same, gentle and affectionate. Truthfully it didn't pain Harley much anymore, and while he was unaware of her reasons for leaving, he held no grudges.

"I'm guessing non-magic people are as weird to you as magic is to me," he smirked, chuckling slightly at his own comment. Although he was getting more used to it all with each passing minute. Talking to Helena certainly helped shed some light on things he was unsure about. He didn't even notice his nerves calming down as they chatted.

Taking a look around, he noticed the prefects gathering at the end of the tables; they had been chatting for quite a while without even noticing. Harley gazed at the golden-haired girl with a sweet smile, adjusting his dirty-blonde fringe away from his sparkling blue eyes. "I think we're leaving for the dorms soon. It's been real nice getting to know you though. See you around yeah?" They'd inevitably be separated in the crowd of first-year Hufflepuffs, he thought and figured it would be easier to say his goodbyes while he still could.

The start of Helena’s adventure at Hogwarts from the sorting seemed to be disastrous but slowly getting to know her new fellow Hufflepuff across from her. The golden haired could not help but feel slightly relieved.

Sure Harley was a complete stranger to Helena he seemed off compared to many of the older children she has been exposed to. He was not snobby or uptight. He was strangely kind and understanding; he even was slightly funny to the young girl. From trying to ease her nerves to smiling towards her the young girl could not help but feel welcomed by his mere presence. His gentle and affectionate expression seemed to calm Helena down even more as she began to enjoy her food. Hearing the young boy speak to her she seemed to get lost in his words. It was not every day Helena made two friends in one day after all.

Hearing the young boy speak about his family Helena felt a bit bad for him not really knowing his mother, the young girl had no idea what she would do without hers. But hearing him boast about his father made the young girl push back any signs of pity for the boy he seemed rather happy that was all that mattered to Helena was that the boy was happy. Listening to him speak a bit more Helena listened quietly not wishing to interrupt him.

When Harley spoke about how non-magic people seemed to be weird compared to magic the young girl gazed softly at the boy. Helena’s sea blue eyes held warmth and kindness as she thought about her words carefully. Sure, muggles and non-magic seemed to confuse the young girl. After all her parents never introduced her to the muggle world it was against their beliefs which the young girl understood here parents lived in a more past time then present. Thinking carefully how to respond Helena smiled softly towards the young boy.

[ “You are not right Muggles are definitely interesting, but my parents always forbade it in away to be near muggles so It is interesting being around so many here at Hogwarts though I do fear how they would react if they knew I spoke to any.”

Helena trailed off slightly glancing down towards her food before glancing back up at Harley as he spoke up once again to the young golden haired girl. Noticing that many students seemed to prepare to leave and head to their dorms along with hearing Harley mention it, the young girl felt her nerves fly around nervously. Glancing up towards the young boy once again Helena smiled softly.

“I hope to see you around more for sure.”

Helena spoke ever so softly smiling gently at the young dirty blonde haired boy.

The Hufflepuff Table 2023-2024
After being sorted
The Hufflepuff table welcomed Violet with cheers. She did not know anyone on the table but instantly felt at home. Her heartbeat slowly calmed down. She looked around to see, and to her surprise was greeted by smiles. She heaved a sigh, people were nice and welcoming exactly like she wanted.

Violet looked up, where the roof was supposed to be, but rather saw a clear, starry night sky.
She gasped.
She knew that the roof was enchanted, her mother told her about it.
But when she saw it herself, she couldn't help but feel captivated by its beauty.

Her line of thoughts was cut when the table roared with claps again. She clapped too realizing someone else has been sorted to the house too.
A couple more people were sorted into Hufflepuff as well.

And then the sorting came to an end.

Headmaster Lear started giving his welcome speech. Most of the older students around her felt sleepy.
Well, no doubt, however comfortable the train was, it was still a long ride and everybody was pretty much starving.
Violet's thoughts drifted to food as well, her stomach grumbled.

Headmaster Lear might have read the students' mind or might have been hungry himself, he finished his speech.
And the food appeared magically on their plates.
Violet ate to her delight.
She felt sleepy but wanted to make some friends but was not really sure how to approach them...

And I'm a monster on the hill
The Hufflepuff Table 2023-2024
@Violet Rohr

Sigrid had sat herself at the end of the table, where the rest of the Hufflepuff First Years had gathered. She felt as if she were at some incredible sort of picnic, with endless piles of food and lively chatter that came together in a strange sort of harmony. It didn't take long for her to load a plate full of chicken pie, carrots, and custard pastries, eating until she thought her stomach might burst, and then eating a little more because the temptation was too great. The speeches were very boring but the food is good, she thought, content.

Finally having eaten more than enough, she turned to have a look at her fellow Hufflepuffs. Directly opposite her sat a young girl vaguely familiar, Sigrid was sure she had seen her amongst the other First Years earlier in the day. The girl was quite pretty, Sigrid thought, with a slim build and warm features, and striking dark eyes. Though she sat alone, like Sigrid, she held an elegant poise about her that Sigrid couldn't help but admire.

'Hello,' Sigrid said, as a way of introduction. 'My name's Sigrid, I'm a First Year. You are too, aren't you? I think I saw you earlier.' Sigrid paused to take a sip of water from her cup. 'What do you think? It's big isn't it? Hogwarts? I didn't know a room could be this tall!' In her animation, as Sigrid went to put down her cup, she knocked it against a plate of bread, and its contents spilled across her plate.

'Whoops,' she said, obviously unbothered. 'Ah well, I ate too much anyway. The food was way better than anything I've ever had. I wish I had five stomachs!' Sigrid grinned cheekily.

The Hufflepuff Table 2023-2024
As the first year Hufflepuff students mAs the first year Hufflepuff students made their way to the Great Hall for their first breakfast at Hogwarts, one student in particular felt a mix of excitement and nerves. Her name was Amanda, and she had always dreamed of attending Hogwarts and being sorted into Hufflepuff house. She had heard stories about the bravery and loyalty of Hufflepuff students, and she was determined to live up to those expectations.

As Amanda took her seat at the Hufflepuff table, she looked around at her fellow students and felt a sense of belonging. They all seemed so friendly and welcoming, and she knew that she had made the right decision in choosing Hufflepuff as her house. feeling self conscious at that moment she looked down at her book and tried not to be a bother to anyone else there. she was feeling nervous cause she had never been so far away from home before and she didn't know anyone yet. She was scared she would never make friends and she was also scared that no one would like her since she was new there so she continued to just look at her book and wait for all the sorting to be done so she could eat. she was feeling quite hungry.

Violet thought to herself, "I should have been attentive to the people around me on the train rather than just focusing on the scenery, I did not even try to make friends neither did I took notice of anybody. If this would continue , I would probably never make a friend. "

That's when someone decided to talk to her, Violet turned around, surprise evident on her face,
The girl looked quite bubbly and cute, her brown locks complimenting her fair skin.

Violet replied "Uhh- Hello!, Yes I'm a first year too, My name is Violet. And Sigrid is such a beautiful name!"

The girl who introduced herself as Sigrid continued further, admiring Hogwarts just like Violet was.
"Yes, It's definitely so big and enchanting, the roof-"

Violet was cut off, by a cup clanking with a plate. As she looked over towards her new company, she saw her looking completely unbothered even with all the contents spilled on her plate.
And Violet laughed heartily when she heard her excuse, opening up to the girl sitting across her.

It all felt like an adventure and she was definitely in for it. And guess she even found a friend to accompany on her adventure!

And I'm a monster on the hill
The Hufflepuff Table 2023-2024
@Violet Rohr

Violet! What a beautiful name, Sigrid mused. When Violet had laughed, Sigrid had felt a warm sort of comfort amidst the frightening unknown that was the large halls of Hogwarts' Great Hall. Her first friend! That was exciting. Well, almost-friend, but Sigrid was quite decisive when it came to matters like these, and she had already made her mind up about the girl in front of her. Not that she had particularly minded being sorted into Hufflepuff, having no predetermined preference of which House she might like best, but know that she actually knew someone in the House, it was much easier to see it as her home.

The elation and commotion of the entire event had made Sigrid realise her own sleepiness. It didn't feel too late, though she had absolutely no clue of the time, but the day had been long and busy, and suddenly she felt as if she could sit at the table no longer.

'Violet,' she confided, as if admitting a heinous crime, 'I so badly wish I could stay here the entire night, but I'm just so tired! I think if I don't go to bed soon I will fall asleep right here on my plate. I might follow one of the older kids to the dorms.'

Sigrid stood up from her seat, but before she turned to leave the room, she flung back around to exclaim. 'Oh! And we should meet up somewhere soon! I don't know anyone else in Hogwarts,' she admitted abashedly. 'Maybe... the common room? Or outside? Or here? I don't really know the castle either. Anywhere really!' She laughed.
