Minnie smiled at Kaitlyn. "I would love for you to work on the pizza croissants with me! You'd probably make sure I don't set the kitchen on fire. But it would be so much fun!" She stopped dancing with her for a moment. "I wish there was a way we could be in the same common room, but oh well." She sat down, looking around the grand ballroom.

I really can't believe I'm friends with such a nice person. And that we both like to dance! It was really fun dancing with her. She thought. "Do you want to dance again sometime? Maybe...Wednesday?" She paused, waiting for an answer. Please say yes. I really want to talk to you again. She looked away from Kaitlyn, instead staring at the ballroom again. It really was so pretty and grand. And now I can say I've danced in it. And that it felt every bit as grand as you would think it would be. She smiled and sighed happily. "You're a very good dancer."

It reminded her of Perry, who was a pretty good dancer herself. They had spent countless hours having fun together in the grass, dancing. They had even come up with a dance to some great wizarding songs. She missed that. But even though Perry wasn't there, she could still dance and have fun, now with Kaitlyn, an amazing person! Now it seemed like everything was working out.

Kaitlyn smiled brightly at the offer. “Great! Ever since I’ve come here, I’ve been baking by myself. Whenever you’re ready, I promise to come. I think we’ll both enjoy it,” she replied honestly. While she had only just met Minnie, she liked hanging around with her already. It felt nice and peaceful.

When Minnie stopped dancing to sit down on the floor, Katie sat down next to her, unsure of what to do with her hands. She awkwardly clasped them together. “I agree. I know I’m not what you’d expect from a Slytherin,” she admitted, looking at her feet. “But, there are other places around the castle we can hang out in … like the library, the kitchen, here? Oh, and I love being outside. And aren’t our common rooms not too far from each other?” She asked optimistically, her blue eyes sparkling.

Kaitlyn pushed a stray strand of her brunette hair and smiled brightly at Minnie’s question. “Let’s see … do I have time on Wednesday?” She started before devolving into giggles. “I’m just teasing you, I’m free. Don’t worry, I’d love to dance with you again. This was fun, and I enjoy spending time with you like this,” she gave Minnie an honest smile.

A light pink flush bloomed on her cheeks at Minnie’s compliment, and she glanced down at her feet briefly. “Thanks,” she replied, turning back to Minnie. “You’re a good dancer, too. I’m happy that I found another girl that likes to dance,” she replied happily. “And, thanks. I think dancing like this has helped my shyness around you,” she admitted with a smile.
