Closed Watching the Stars

It was rare for Benjamin to sleep through the entire night; every night, he would lay and think about which star patterns he would see in the skies tonight. Today, he decided to do something he didn't usually do. Benjamin decided to explore the grounds outside of Hogwarts at night, a thought that had never crossed his mind before. He was, after all, not a troublemaker or up to mischief. Benjamin got up quietly from his bed, still dressed in pajamas; Benjamin decided wearing dark blue pants and a gray hoodie would best fit the night wandering outside the castle grounds. Then he started descending from the Ravenclaw tower, down the many moving stairs and passages. It took quite a while for him to make his way down the many stairs, but when he finally got down to the gate that went outside to the castle grounds and the lake, he stood there satisfied with a little smile on his lips, knowing that he had avoided a few perfects on his way down.

A few moments later, he walked briskly toward the black lake with a stare up against the skies; tonight, it was cloudier than he had hoped, but at last, he had already walked so far. The black lake looked even more beautiful doing nightmare, which made his feelings towards adventure and knowledge go even higher up the ladder inside his brilliant young mind. Suddenly, he saw someone standing by the black lake, who he couldn't tell, as it was pretty dark, and he hadn't yet mastered the Lumos charm. After a few moments of thoughts racing through his mind, he finally decided to go towards the person staring at something. ''Hi there, you're up late,'' he said quietly, trying not to scare the person too much.

While Tori was sitting lost in thought, she jumped when she heard a low voice. For a moment she thought he had been caught. However, she even wore white to camouflage himself around. She turned towards the direction of the voice to list her excuses. When she approached the person approaching her, she was relieved to see someone her own age.

"Guess I'm not the only one breaking the rules tonight"

She spoke warmly. She said it comfortably because she understood that she wasn't caught. She realized that she still didn't know the boy's name.

"My name is Victoria. Victoria Lena Jones but they call me Tori. So what is your name and what's your reason for going out at forbidden hour?"

When she finished his chocolate, she opened her bag again and took two and handed one to the boy. She always carried a lot of chocolate in her bag.

"Do you wanted some? I'm still not used to wizard desserts so it's muggle chocolate but it tastes great. Just in case you haven't tried it."

While playing with the snow again, an idea came to her mind and she took a handful of snow from her free hand and threw it at the boy's face.

Benjamin couldn't help himself from staring at the girl for a bit, unsure whether or not he had made the right decision of walking around the castle at night. As it was not something he'd normally do, he tried his best not to be a rule breaker. Still, sometimes, it was necessary to watch the stars without a window blocking his view. When the girl turned around, he looked at her with a blank expression; he was unsure whether the girl was serious or not, as he would never admit to breaking the rules. In his eyes, rule-breaking was when you intended to do mischief, which Benjamin definitely wasn't interested in. ''Technically, I'm outside to learn something,'' He'd answer, questioning whether or not he sounded profound enough for the girl to believe him.

Afterward, he stood still for a moment, wondering how many stars he would see tonight. It was rare that anyone was around him when he was watching the stars. However, he remembers walking outside late with his mother when he was about 8 when he was getting homeschooled by her. Watching the stars with his mother was also the day his interest in astrology peaked. He stood there wondering about the past and what to say next; luckily, the girl was quicker than him and said something. It was probably around that moment that Benjamin realized that he didn't know the girl's name; when she finally said hers, he smiled and tried to stay as confident as Benjamin possibly could; it was only her and him right now, which was good, as he hated big groups. ''Nice to meet you, Victoria. I mean Tori,'' he'd said, and he would quirky try to correct his mistake, as she preferred being called Tori by messing in his hair.

''My name is Benjamin, Benjamin Mason, and I'm merely doing this for astrology reasons.'' He'd answer, looking at her finishing her chocolate as she found another in her bag shortly after. ''Yes, please; wizard deserts are pretty delicious. But so is muggle desserts, as my father would say, but it doesn't matter to me, in all honesty.''' He'd answer her while looking a bit over where he thought the Black lake was; it was still quite dark. He had a sweet tooth, like his mother, although she tried to put a limit on how many treats they had in their apartment when she could.
Suddenly, he felt a cold feeling on his face; as he stepped back, he was shocked about what cold feeling had touched his face. As he'd taken a few steps back, he removed the snow from his head, realizing it was snow. ''Hey, that's not funny. It's dark and confusing enough at night around here; I don't need snowballs to make it worse.'

Tori smiled at the boy and responded to his speech. "But logically, you are out later than your go-out time. This shows that you violated the rule of going out. No matter what your intention is, you're breaking the rule, just like me." She spoke in a very knowing way, but she thought she was right.

"Nice too meet you too Benjamin. May I call you Ben? I think it would be easier to say Ben and it's a cool nickname. So you love astrology. It's so awesome. But the weather is not suitable for this."

When she saw Ben's reaction when he threw the snow, she giggled involuntarily. She knew it wasn't funny, but her reaction was a little funny. She was sure her hair was light pink right now.

"I am sorry but I couldn't stand it. But the way you talked was so funny"

After some thought, she realized it wasn't that funny after all.

"Okay, I admit it was bad behavior and I should have done it. I am sorry"

She turned her gaze towards the lake. The clouds had parted slightly so she could see the lake with the light of the moon. Maybe they could see the stars soon.
