Wait... Are You Really Going to Climb the Tree?

Sere arrives at the Grounds a little later than her promised fifteen minutes. She got a little problem with her dorm room door, but fortunately she was able to solve it in a short time. Sere brought Buddy in its cage and hurried down the long way from her house to The Grounds.
Sere looks around, there is a large grass field that immediately reminds her of the first flying class. The Great Lake could be seen quite close at the end of the Grounds. Several trees with green leaves are starting to change into yellowish. Ah, right! Fall is coming next month. I only have a little time to play with Buddy before the temperature drops and winter comes. Luckily, I made an appointment so that I could really bring Buddy out today.
Sere choose to sits under one of the tree that shows her a view straight to the Great Lake. The sun's shining perfectly, making beautiful light reflections like diamonds floating on the water.
Maybe Renelle is still on the way from her house, The Ravenclaws always have to walk far down the tower to reach this place. Even she herself who comes from Gryffindor, feels this week's tiredness while getting use to walking from the fifth floor to the classes on the lower floor everyday. It must be really tiring for them.
Sere enjoys the afternoon breeze while waiting for Renelle to arrive. She takes Buddy out of its cage. The bunny is a Mist Hopper, its current size is only the size of a hand which makes this type become the smallest one in Magical Menagerie. Sere placed Buddy on her lap and stroked its soft gray fur. The girl stares into the sparkling-black eyes that stares her back, as she whispered, “I will introduce you to my first desk mate in Hogwarts. You will make this meeting more interesting, right Buddy? I hope I am doing right this time!"

Wait... Are You Really Going to Climb the Tree?
So far, the day had certainly been interesting. First, Renelle had arrived to a lovely History of Magic class magnificently late; then, she’d been subjected to what appeared to some kind of test by a random girl who then decided to take it upon herself to apologise and beg for forgiveness- weird, even by the Ravenclaw’s standards.
And for some reason she simply could not recall now, she had agreed to meet the girl in the Hogwarts hounds before the start of their next lesson, an extremely out of character move on her part. But what was done was done, and the dark-haired girl was now on her down to the planned meeting place.
As she continued on her way, Renelle wondered what they would even do. The girl- Sere, she had got to remember the name- had said that she would be bringing her bunny. Did she mention her bunny’s name?….. Nope, her mind was blank.
One of the first nights here, she had actually met another first-year’s pet rabbit here. The interaction went kind of awkwardly, but the bunny was nice. Renelle had actually gotten a special gift from her mom right before the school year- a very unconventional little pet. It had been left back home, however, in order for her to settle in before getting a whole living thing to take care of as well. It had been her own idea, so she couldn’t exactly complain. Sucked, though.
The cool afternoon breeze snapped her back to reality. Looking around, Renelle realized that she was already outside, no end to the greenery in sight. Damn…. they’d forgotten to set a specific place to meet up. Annoyed, she kicked at a nearby shrub in anger. Well, nothing to do about that now. It seemed that she was just going to have to look everywhere.
The first year’s search ended faster than she anticipated- it was barely two minutes before she saw Sere’s raven-haired figure settled underneath an oak, facing the Great Lake. As she walked closer, Renelle saw that true to her word, a bunny was sitting in her lap, its fur entirely grey, as opposed to the peach-coloured one she had met earlier that week.

Sere turned her head when she heard a voice greeted her, "Hi, Renelle." Sere cleared her throat for a moment. She started to feel the excitement, but confused about what to say because she never met someone outside the class hours before. Just few seconds after, Sere motioned for Renelle to sit next to her, "Here, please."
“Umm…” Sere scratched the back of her head, “Oh! Right! The bunny!” Sere stroked Buddy on her lap, “This is my bunny. Its name is Buddy, named after my hope of him being my first friend. You heard it right, it's a he."
“You can touch him if you want to.” Sere is so welcome if Renelle also wants to stroked Buddy, as she continued her words in question, "Have you met other rabbit owners before? Buddy's type has the smallest size compared to other type of rabbits. He is from the Mist Hopper family.”
Sere feels that their conversation would focus too much on her bunny if she doesn't open up another topics. “Great Lake looks so nice with the reflection of the sun. It's like diamonds floating on the water," Sere changed her focus, she is staring to the lake, "It reminds me on my arrival here at Hogwarts. The nervousness popped up exactly at the same time as I saw some chocolate frogs jumping all over my carriage. Even though I was so excited for the new journey in this new school on first place, magical things are totally new to a muggle like me.” Sere looked at Renelle, “How about you? How did you feel when you first arrive at Hogwarts?”

Wait... Are You Really Going to Climb the Tree?
No sooner had the greeting left Renelle’s mouth when the raven-haired figure turned, revealing it to be, no surprise, Sere from History of Magic. The moment she caught sight of the Ravenclaw, Sere returned the greeting, albeit rather awkwardly, and motioned for her companion to sit down in a spot next to her. She did so.
There was an awkward pause where neither of them knew what to say, with Renelle deciding to focus on the grass in front of her. She did not make it a sport of meeting up random classmates who was practically a stranger, making her rather inept at navigating this whole social situation. She scowled at a rock a few feet away from her. Oh, why, why had she agreed to this?
Luckily, Sere seemed to have gotten tired of this silence quite quickly, and took it upon herself to animatedly dominate the conversation aspect, introducing her companion to the bunny Buddy (that would certainly stick), who apparently had been named after ‘hopes of him being my best friend’.
From their brief interaction, the Ravenclaw had formed an impression of the Asian girl being a bit of a pathological people pleaser, quirky at times, yet an ebullient and exuberant figure most of the time. Of course, it was unlikely that Renelle could truly be able to gather an accurate perception of the girl from such a short time together, but that was irrelevant in her mind.
“Sure, I’ll pet him.” Taking Sere up on her offer, Renelle reached out one hand- cautiously, you could never be too sure of the bloodthirstiness of an animal, she had had way to much history with the area for that- and gently stroked the grey rabbit’s fur. “Yeah, I’ve met a few.” She replied absentmindedly. “There was this girl in the Ravenclaw common room, she had a bunny too, though I think it was more of a brown colour. Not sure what species that was.” That had really been a very awkward interaction. Rather like this one.
Then she retreated from Buddy hastily- you should never tempt fate, after all. Fortunately, Sere appeared to not have been run dry of more topics to bring up, and took the conversation to the matter of the Great Lake, not too difficult to see from their vantage point- in fact, it was right in front of them. That then switched to first days at Hogwarts.
“Um, I felt… all right, I guess?” Wow, she was on fire. “I mean,” she quickly added. “I grew up in a magical family, so I sort of always knew that I was coming here. And I knew about magic too, so… Yeah.” For some reason, Renelle kept forgetting that Hogwarts accepted Muggle-borns, those from a completely magic-free background, and whose worlds must have undergone a complete 180 when they learnt of the existence of the Wizarding world; this in turn made her wonder how many of those she passed in the hallways every day actually went back home to a Muggle environment. Her head spun. Talk about mind-blowing.Interacting with @Sere Nade

Sere nodded her head for no reason, as if trying to understand Renelle, "I see, so you come from a magical family. I haven't met anyone with a magical background at all this past week. Everyone I met were muggle-borns just like me. So, are you a pure-blood?”
Sere felt that she has to be careful and focus more on responding to Renelle. However, she has a little worry when it comes to interact with someone from a magical family. She never know how to interact and react to them before. Did I make the right decision to arrange this meeting?
Sere focuses on the answer Renelle gave. She hugged her legs and put her head on the knees, a sign that she is trying to be interested to the person she was talking to. But there's one thing that seems to be forgotten.
When Sere changed her position again to cross-legged, she looked around. Her eyes dropped on Buddy's cage beside her. "Oh my!"
Sere whispered in a low tone, ignoring Renelle immediately. She stands up quickly and looks around with a confuse expression. She starts to panic, but it doesn't show on her face. "Buddy..." Sere looked at Renelle, "I think he ran away." She said it calmly. She starts to look around.
Sere is sure that Buddy was in her lap earlier. Where's the bunny now? Sere massaged the back of her neck while finally realizing about Renelle's presence. She is still here.
"I'm really sorry about this. I lost Buddy and I have to look for him," Sere thinks that she shouldn't bother Renelle more after tested her in the class earlier. Sere wants Renelle to help her, but instead she said the opposite, "You can go back if you want to. Maybe next time we could---" Sere bits her lip, she doesn't even dare to make any arranged meeting for them in the future. Her eyes are looking here and there, trying to hide her panic, "I have to find Buddy. Again, I'm so sorry." Deep inside, she's still hoping that the Ravenclaw girl would help her. It would be easier... Right?

“No, half-blood.” It was a bit interesting though, Renelle briefly thought, that for the past week Sere had met no one but Muggle-borns. After all, she’d always assumed that those of magical backgrounds made up the majority of the Hogwarts population - either she was very wrong about that, or Sere was drawn to a very specific type of people.
Had she herself gotten acquaintanced with any Muggle-borns before the Gryffindor next to her? She honestly wasn’t sure - the first year supposed she had never cared enough about anyone she’d talked to so far, to attempt to delve deeper into their history. Apart from Astra, but she didn’t really count.
Her gaze flickered over to the bunny’s cage next to there for a moment, just out of habit. She was definitely not prepared for what she was met with, however - an empty cage.
This only meant one thing.
Bobby had escaped.
Next to her, Sere seemed to have noticed her runaway pet as well, stood up at once, looking about. “Buddy…” Oh. So his name wasn’t Bobby. Oops.
Struggling to her feet as well, Renelle quickly scanned their surroundings for any sign of a panicky grey rabbit. Nope. None in sight. Glancing toward the dark-haired girl beside her, she marvelled at how apparently calm she appeared. From their interactions so far, the Ravenclaw would have accept her companion to be running around in a frantic attempt to recover Buddy, but instead, she was putting on smooth composure. Impressive.
“Actually, you know what?” Her voice was surprisingly certain. “I’ll help you look.”Interacting with @Sere Nade

"You what?"
Sere tried to hide her surprise within her low tone, "A-ah! I mean, I clearly heard what you said. Are you sure you want to help me? I would be really grateful for that." Sere said it solemnly.
Earlier, she was surprised by Renelle's offer. How could Renelle still wants to help her after she gave all that bad first impression to the Ravenclaw girl? Her guilty is -again- increasing as she keep reminding herself about the incident in History of Magic class. Especially since this girl -surprisingly- knew what homework the Profess-- Huh? Why am I thinking about that again? It's not the time to mourn your mistake, Sere!
Sere is walking around the bushes while speaking a little bit louder, making sure that her voice is still reaching Renelle's ears, "I don't think I have Buddy for long time enough to know exactly about his behavior, and this is the first time I lost him," Sere sighed and crouched down, rolling up her robe's sleeves, and then started to rummage the bushes, "Buddy likes the rain and the smell of the earth, so I think he'll be around the bushes or under the trees."
Sere found no sign of Buddy in the first bushes. She moved to the bushes and trees closest to the Great Lake, it is not far from the previous place. "Buddy gets bored easily and quickly, maybe that's why he jumps here and there. He really likes moving around." Sere remembers how Buddy didn't really like being ignored. Maybe that's another reason why Buddy disappearing now. Maybe he wants to get their -Renelle and her- attention?
"He's not in this bush either..." Sere muttered, looking at her dirty hands. She stood up, scratched the back of her hand which itched from rummaging through the bushes, and turned towards her first-ever half-blood friend, "Do you find him? Or... Are there any signs of him? Why is it so difficult? I mean... It's impossible to him being far away from this place." Sere started to creeping out about the fact that she might lose her Buddy.
At the moment when the fear's started to creeping out, Sere could hear a rustling sound from above the tree near her. The girl's gut is making her turned her head to the origin of the sound immediately. "Buddy! There you are!" The feel of relief bloomed instantly inside herself. "How could you ended up on that tree?" Sere took steps closer to the tree. She could see the grey bunny is peaking behind the orange leaves and dark brown branches.
Now, the main problem. I don't know how to climb up a tree. Sere chuckled. Could Renelle possibly climbing a tree? She is quiet athletic. The Gryffindor girl is about to find Renelle while her mind''s talking to herself. What if Buddy ran away to another unknown places by the time I'm looking for Renelle? Sere is arguing with her own self. It will also be a very burden if I asked Renelle for more than this.
After some times of consideration, Sere's finally clenched her fists. Alright! There always gonna be a first time for everything! She took off her shoes, trying to hug the big tree in front of her, crawling up while leaning on the thick branches, and of course trying not to look down. "Hold on, Buddy! Just a few more steps and..."
"Gotcha!" The girl looked at Buddy which now is right in front of her eyes. "Let's go down, would you? I will try my best not to ignoring you in the future." As if having a certain amount of understanding, the Mist Hopper jumped onto Sere's back. "Thank you, Buddy." Sere is crawling back down really carefully.
"I can't believe that I just climbed up on a tree." Sere said it to herself as she put back Buddy to the cage. She's standing up, looking for the Ravenclaw girl that she had just met today. "Umm... It's getting late. I have to go back to the dorm. I think I will give Renelle something as my gratitude later."
And this is how Sere's day ended. A long one day with her new nice friend. A lot of things to learn, especially how to behave better to another student; also a lot of new things she experienced: finding the beauty of the sunset in the Great Lake, knowing more about Buddy's behaviour, and also... climbing up a tree for the first time in her life. "I'm doing a lot of things. It's time to go back, take a bath, and catch up on my studies." Ambitiousness is still in the top of a Sere Nade's mindset, indeed.
