Minnie breathed a sigh of relief. She was safely and happily on the ground. "I'm going to the courtyard. Do you want to come with me?" Then she walked off to the courtyard. I hope she follows. Was it rude to not wait for an answer? She thought, suddenly worried. Nope. It'll be fine. And she forced her thoughts into the new book she was reading.

Minnie wandered into the courtyard and sat on a bench. She then grabbed a book from her bag and started reading it. I love muggle books. Night At The Museum is so fascinating on how they go around without magic. I'm so glad my uncle gave me some for my birthday. She then settled into her book. When she heard a noise she looked up. It was only a spark from a wand though. I hope Elodie gets here soon. I'm feeling a bit lonely. She thought about her last encounter in the courtyard. It had been a fun visit, but she had been the one following, not waiting. "I wish she would walk faster. I don't want to be here alone." She said to herself. I guess I'm not very patient. She thought. She then put her book back up and started to read while she waited.

Elodie did her best to avoid running after this girl so as to
not seem desperate, instead speedwalking. The girl clutched the strap of her bag that was slung over her shoulder, heavy from the sheer amount of books piled in the satchel.

She tripped over a stone, stumbling for a bit before landing on her hands and knees, scraping her palms badly. Elodie stayed there for a few seconds before rising shakily to her feet. She ignored the blood dripping from the wound, walking slowly and carefully into the courtyard and scanning it curiously. Her eyes lit up when she caught sight of Minnie, jogging up to her and pushing her glasses up her nose. "Sorry, sorry! What are you reading?"

She blinked curiously, sliding onto the bench next to her Hufflepuff companion and rummaging through her bag, pulling out a small bag of caramel sweets and pulling it open. "Would you like one? My mum sent these to me, and I doubt I could finish them all by myself." She sighed. "I can't even hold on to them, because my cat somehow always manages to get into any food I keep in my dormitory."

"But that's just the trouble with me. I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it."

Minnie blinked and looked up at Elodie. She appeared to be bleeding and in a rush. "Um...thanks Elodie. I love caramel." She took one and popped it in her mouth. "Tastes great. Sort of like my Caramel Cats. It's a sweet I invented." She blushed slightly. "And I'm reading Night at The Museum. I find muggle books fascinating."

She swallowed her bite. "It's sad that your cat gets all your food. One day I have to give you some sweets away from your cat, so you can eat them." Minnie looked around. "Nice day right? It's truly a wonderful day outside. It was a perfect day to fly." She closed her book and tapped her nose thoughtfully. What could we do here? Hm...we could talk? I'll ask her. She thought decisively.

"So...is there anything you want to do particularly? We could just talk or we could read or do something fun like that. Whatever you want." She looked at Elodie, hopeful that she would think of something fun. Read a book? Who besides me finds that a fun pastime? I can't believe I said that. Minnie bit her lip and looked at the girl beside her, hoping that Elodie wouldn't think her a dork.

Elodie offered up a smile, crossing her feet at the ankles and pushing her glasses up her nose. "Ah, I don't really mind what we do." She sat back on the bench, a slight breeze making her brown hair sway subtly.

"My mum used to read me Night at The Museum, you know." Her cheeks warmed as she looked back on her younger years, walking barefoot through her home and hoping that the glass animals her mother enjoyed collecting would come to life and whisk her away to anywhere that wasn't the tiny village she lived in. She'd spent so many nights exploring her home in the nightgowns her mother made her on occasion, pretending she was a ninja, or a fairy, or an explorer of ancient magical forests.

It seemed so naive to her now, a distant dream of things she'd wished so hard could be real. It made her feel that Hogwarts was just another game of pretend, and every night she drifted off to sleep afraid that she'd wake up to learn this was all a dream, though she knew that it was almost certainly not a dream. Still, she couldn't help but feel like an imposter every time she walked the halls of the castle or raised her wand.

It occurred to Elodie that she'd been quiet much too long, and she rushed to fill the silence.

"Ah, you make candy? That's so cool. How? Is it hard?"

"But that's just the trouble with me. I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it."

Minnie was surprised by Elodie's answer. No one had ever been interested in her candy making. She blinked, trying to find an answer. "Oh, um...it's not that hard. You just have to experiment a bit, try it out. I once made a fire dragon candy that nearly burned my tongue! That one took a while to make. And thanks for saying it's cool. Not many people are interested in it." She smiled brightly. "And um...I make it by...erm....I guess just using ingredients. It's sometimes quite fun, and sometimes quite dangerous. But uh...yeah?" She stumbled around her words, trying to find a good answer. But there simply wasn't one.

She remembered back at home, nearly burning her kitchen with Perry, her best friend. She always had cooked in her kitchen with Perry, and they planned to make a bakery shop when they're grown up. But Perry had gone to stinking Ilvermorny. And now they could only communicate by owl, not by talking. Minnie realized her face was going on a frown and forced her thoughts to something happier.

She adjusted her glasses and looked over at Elodie. "If you really don't mind, I think we could read Night At The Museum...if you want to."
