Mae is determined to follow her parent's expectations: : Maintain their family's honor, prove the superiority of pure-blood magic, and return a worthy Slytherin. . Once she boarded the Hogwarts Express, she remembered the words her father said to her in the station: "Remember, Mae, victory demands cunning and ruthlessness. Never hesitate to strike, when necessary, for weakness is a luxury we cannot afford." The second Mae heard that, she was determined to live up her parent's expectations, no matter what it took. She is amazed by Narcissa Malfoy and Bellatrix Lestrange and looks up to them as her idols.
