Where Are You!?
Reducio

Greebo sat on the wide and otherwise empty library table watching Colin with mild interest. Surely all the activity his human was engaged in would, sooner or later, result in a cat treat. Greebo was patient.
Colin, however, was not so patient at this moment. He'd been looking for it all day! Every spare moment he'd had today was spent rummaging through his enchanted satchel. "Greebo!" he whispered hoarsely. "I cannae find it! Where are you!?" he said, almost despairing of finding the object of his present desire! He knew he had it this morning! He'd written it last night and wanted to give it to her tonight at dinner in the great hall.
But now it was lost!
And now Colin was crouched on the heavy wooden library chair, face to face with his black cat, peering into the nearly endless recesses of his satchel. Greebo pawed at the straps helpfully. "Aye lad. Best get on wi it!" He began the task of emptying the satchel. On the whole, Colin thought the task was rather harder than it used to be. First year, all he had to do was hang on to his satchel and tip it upside down and everything would spill out no problem!
Not so with his enchanted satchel. Things didn't tip out that well. So he began reaching in and pulling at stuff. Fortunately, the satchel seemed to know or at least guess at what he was after. He wasn't sure how the magic worked, but somehow it seemed to know that when he asked for parchment and a quill, or even be thinking about those things, they would somehow present themselves in a convenient pocket.
He sighed. He kept pulling stuff out. Nothing was quite what he was after, although nearly everything in there was really quite interesting!
Some books tumbled out first. Fantastic Beasts of course, and one of his astrology books, some playing cards and his Moonscope. He flipped through the books one at a time. It wasn't in there! He scattered the cards. It wasn't in there either! He looked through the Moonscope. No luck there either! One of his notebooks fell to the side, scattering Greebo to safer distance from the mayhem.
Colin sighed. It wasn't in there either! "Where are you?" he queried again. "This is no time for a game of what's it got in its pocketses, Greebo! A need to fint et!" He reached in again and his fingers found something soft. Not quite what they were looking for. He brought it out and looked it at.
"Mrrrr?"
"Aye, Greebs, that one's yers! At least one of us is happy!"

Where Are You!?
Graphic created by Liana Kerr
Browsing through the stacks in the Library, AngelFyre was on the hunt for one book in particular that she was certain would help answer some questions for her DADA homework. Even if it did not, she knew it would be a fascinating read and hopefully lead her to other interesting, and maybe even more helpful resources.
Her eyes were scanning the spines of the tomes on the shelves. Wandering the stacks was one of her favorite things in the world to do. She reached the fingers of her left hand up and moved them slowly across the books, delighting in the musty smell of the aged parchment and the feel of the sometimes brittle, old leather lightly scraping the tender tips. As she moved along, her eyes were darting from book to book, reading titles: Advanced Defence Against the Dark Arts; The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection - (Hey! They were all supposed to have purchased that one! Good to know it was here if necessary) - Dark Arts Defence – Basics for Beginners; Defensive Magical Theory; The Essential Defence -... she stopped and re-read that last title in its entirety, barely aloud. "The Essential Defence Against the Dark Arts." Her fingers now moved up the spine to the top of the book and hooked over its edge as she pulled it. Gotcha!"
She opened it up and immediately started flipping through the pages, looking for the topic of Boggarts. She turned and began to slowly walk to the end of the stack, reading to herself, when she heard the second most familiar voice to her in all of Hogwarts. "I cannae find it! Where are you!?" She smiled deeply and looked up, trying to zone in on from which direction Colin's voice was coming.
He was clearly agitated, but not in a fight or flight kind of way. He was silent for a minute or so. Well, to be more precise, he was not speaking. She could hear all kinds of movement, but had not a clue what the boy was up to. She followed the sound until she came upon him just after he had emptied the contents of his satchel onto the table. That vision had her catch her breath a moment as it took her back to the day she and Clair and Colin were in the Groundskeeper's cabin and Colin did the same thing... he emptied his satchel. A shiver ran down her spine. It did not stay long.
She laughed quietly as he found "something" in the bag to satisfy Greebo's hunger pangs which were probably brought on more by boredom and less from hunger. Tickled at the "...pocketses...." comment, she could not help herself.
"Hey, Gollum! Got another one of those? Greebo is not the only one who is hungry in this place," she spoke softly, just above a whisper, and then the moment of 'Oh holy heck' smacked her squarely in the face as she silently began to pray that the snack was not...well... you know...live prey. With Colin, one could not be sure. Then she quickly remembered they were not to have live creatures in their satchels so she relaxed a little. But only a little.
I know that, but does he???
Setting her book and own satchel down on the little space available on the table, AngelFyre looked everything over and then looked to Colin. "What goes on here, Woofy?" she whispered.
