Part 1 - Books and friendships
It was finally Sunday today, and a whole week of classes had passed; it hadn't been the most leisurely week for him, as he'd had care for magical creatures, which he had already absolutely despised. Deep inside, Benjamin knew that he probably would hate that class no matter what; it wasn't because he didn't like magical creatures; he just preferred not having to touch them or interact with them, for that matter. There were many classes at Hogwarts, and he had barely touched the surface of what he would learn at Hogwarts. His big brother Gavin had often told him that Astrology class would get even more exciting and engaging after a few years at the school. So far, Benjamin had been involved in Astrology class, as he also found the subject engaging in his free time. He could always tell whether or not his big brother was exaggerating, as he knew that Gavin was more interested in Defence Against the Dark Arts.BENJAMIN x♜xM ASON

Today, Benjamin had decided that he wanted to visit the library. Benjamin didn't know what he was looking for but hoped to find a fascinating book about stars there. Shortly before descending from the Ravenclaw standard room, Benjamin took his shoulder bag over his head so it slid loosely on the left side of his body. Then he took a pen and notebook; for some reason, he always wrote with a pen when they didn't have classes, maybe to find familiarity with what he usually did at home with his parents as he always wanted to have some remembrance of his father with him. When Benjamin got to the library, Benjamin started at the room full of large bookcases.
He looked around at the students sitting at different tables reading or studying. Benjamin didn't know what he was looking for, but as he was curious and slightly shy, he decided to look for a book himself. Benjamin knew it would probably be more accessible to ask the librarian, but his question would presumably not be enough for the librarian to help him as he didn’t really know what he was looking for. After a few moments of thought and looking around, Benjamin decided to walk around the library; he wanted to experience the library on his own terms; the unknowing of it all was quite exciting for him; he couldn't help smiling a bit, as Benjamin walked around the different bookcases, at one point Benjamin knew that he would find something interesting.

They'd been reading through the 'Fantastic Beasts and where to find them' for half an hour or so now, looking at all the magical creatures and recognising some from lessons, but most they'd either never been taught about or even heard of.
Care of Magical Creatures was probably their favourite class here at Hogwarts, followed by Herbology. Plants were cool. It's a shame many don't appreciate them. And Leaf didn't understand all the hype around spells and duelling.
They leaned against the bookshelf and flipped through the section on Hippogriffs- they'd never met one, but they really wanted to at some point. Then, a boy (presumably around the same age) wandered past them, browsing the shelves. Recently, Leaf had developed a little more confidence and therefore a habit of sneaking up on people, with the hope that maybe they could make some more acquaintances or perhaps friendships.
He moved to the next area, and Leaf followed behind at a small distance, making sure to keep as quiet as possible. They were about to say hello when suddenly, they lost the grip on the book in their hands, and it fell to the floor with a loud thud that they were sure everyone in that part of the library heard. Oh crap.

Thoughts: italicsWhen Katie first started at Hogwarts, she had heard various rumors about the Hogwarts Library. How big and grandiose it was. It met all of those expectations and then some. While she enjoyed spending time in the Slytherin Common Room, she loved spending time in the library. She liked books and yearned to learn more about magic and Hogwarts from within its shelves. Plus, there were almost always other students there, too. And she needed to make friends.
Katie moved gracefully through the shelves in the Herbology section. She adored working with plants. Herbology was one of her favorite classes. For the time being, she was spending a portion of her Saturday afternoon wanting to read up on the plants they were studying in class. Her bag was with her, filled with her notes from class, plus extra pieces of parchment paper. As a part of her organizational structure, she significantly revised her notes. It helped her study and to perfect her note-taking style. Plus, she enjoyed writing the notes. Nice and neat cursive handwriting. Filled with her little drawings to display anything of interest from the lesson. It took a while, but it was completely worth it to have textbook-quality notes.
As she browsed the shelf, Katie yelped in surprise when she heard a loud thud. She realized it didn’t come from her. 'What was that? I hope nothing happened,' she thought to herself. Curious, she moved to the end of the aisle and quickly looked around. “Is everything alright?” She asked, loud enough for the people nearby to hear her but still respectful of the library’s being a quiet place to study and learn.
