ᴄʜɪʀᴘs ᴀɴᴅ ʜɪssᴇs
Pets weren't allowed on Hogwarts yet, making all the animal lovers spend more time outside or in this case, Magical Menagerie. An interesting habit one had, visiting the shop to only watch animals and not to buy, hoping that soon a pet would be resting in her dorm room when the time comes.
An intriguing building Magical Menagerie was indeed, having cages displayed outside, chirping heard from the distance, one could never miss the shop as she then entered slowly, a mix of animal sounds welcoming her ears. The cages were pretty much stacked all over the room, most of them cramped against the walls as she moved calmly, observing the creatures with curiosity. She noticed a pair of toads which she saw the week before were now gone, their spot replaced by a fluffy white feline. Fur was thick and smooth, its eyes reflected a fine tint of green, gaze pierced towards the girl like shining emeralds as her figure walked closer towards the male cat with tranquillity, letting the animal know she was not a threat.
A soft purr escaped from the tom's throat as the Hufflepuff's lips curved upwards slightly, legs crouching next to the cage. Pale finger stretched towards the feline's nose which sniffed gently, whiskers brushed against pale skin as one let out a meow.
Ophelia loved animals greatly, spending time with them filled her heart with peace, one now spent time with the cat for a minute or two, before standing back up and observing the other creatures. Baby blue caught a glimpse of a dark-coloured snake, taking a step closer as gaze observed the majestic animal with heed. Scales reflected the darkest tint of black, white light bounced off them gracefully, giving an effect of a shimmer. Orbs contracted with their crimson glow, like dripping wine, they decorated the slim face as pale tongue made its presence every few seconds or so.
What a fascinating being it was, the girl's vision scanned the reptile over and over again as it let out a calm hiss.
Perhaps Ophelia could have such a snake for a pet? Or maybe she would own a rat? A raven? A, ferret...owl, rabbit? How was one supposed to pick when every single one of them expressed such unique types of beauty?

"ugg, I wonder where dad and Crystal are..." Sylvie thought as she passed the shop. She wore a light green t-shirt which matched her eyes and baggy brown shorts with two big pockets. Sylvie saw white wings flapping in her prereferral vision and she froze. Her head whipped around as she saw a snowy owl looking at her with big brown eyes. Sylvie's face lit up. "Oh... my.... gosh... IT'S SO CUTE!" Sylvie forgot about the rest of her family and went over too it. Its eyes twinkled from the sunlight and Sylvie's heart melted. "I've never seen an owl like this before. They're so pretty!" Sylvie put her hand through the bars of the cage, and she let the owl nuzzle her hand. Her heart was pounding as she did so.
Sylvie glanced over at the shop which this cage was in front of. "Magical Menagerie huh? Must be a pet store." she thought as she scratched the owls head once before heading towards the door. She peaked in, and the sound of meowing, screeching, and other animal noises filled her ears. It felt like she was in heaven. She quickly went inside, making her way towards the a bunch of cages, some were full of frogs and toads and some were full of snakes. This was probably where all the reptiles were.
Sylvie loved reptiles, especially snakes. She'd always found them so interesting. Her eyes focused on a cute little ball python. It had this kitty-like mouth and big eyes. Sylvie's smile widened but then turned into one of sadness. She put her hand into the cage and stoked the little snake's back. "Sorry little snake, even if I did buy you, I wouldn't be able to take you to school." she whispered, making eye contact with it. Maybe she could get her sister to take care of it until she got back from Hogwarts that year.
Sylvie glanced around the shop some more, looking for things she'd have to buy if she did get the snake. There weren't any frozen mice she could see at the moment, but her local pet store would have some. The rest of the stuff seemed to be there. Suddenly she noticed the girl next to her, and she jumped a little. "Oh, I didn't see her there!" She thought, looking back to the snake, her face slightly red of embarrassment.
Sorry, this took so long! My computer's filter blocked this site, and it's hard to type on my phone. I can finally type on my computer now, so I'll be able to respond quicker now!

Soon, Ophelia wasn't alone in the store, noticing a light-haired girl enter through the door as she also started to observe the nearby creatures. The Hufflepuff focused back on the animals in front of her as she turned her gaze towards a fluffy weasel, its face covered with a sable mask as it lightly squeaked towards her. Figure kneeled towards the cage as soft fingers brushed the bars lightly, baby blue observing the animal's lean body, scanning its movement with interest.
It intrigued the wizard indeed, enough for one not to notice how the stranger girl moved closer as she then hopped away with surprise, perhaps not seeing Ophelia because one was kneeling. Expression looked at the green-shirted stranger with surprise, scanning her curiously.
Face appeared rather colored at the moment, perhaps embarrassed, behind the flush there were freckles were visible. Light waves stretched over her shoulders, the girl was wearing a light green shirt which matched with emerald eyes well and when one focused towards the orbs sharply...were those contacts perhaps?
The Hufflepuff then got up, straightening her dark gray denim jacket which stretched to her knees due to its large size. Dusting some fur off the tank top underneath, pale hands hid in the dark pockets of her pants as baby blue searched for a view to look at.

"Should I say something to her? Should I apologize for jumping like that... She probably thinks I'm so strange. I'm not even at school yet why does this have to happen right now? I just wanted to look at animals. One of the main reasons I love being with animals are they aren't humans, UGG!" Sylvie furrowed her eyebrows as she thought, her face remaining red. "I'll just introduce myself, yes, that shouldn't be that hard. I just need to act confident like I usually do."
Sylvie turned to the wizard, smiling sweetly. You couldn't even tell that she was panicking on the inside. She'd figured out as she grew up that she was good at pretending everything was fine, even when things were defiantly not fine. Even when she had a new bruise or cut when she went to school everyday. Maybe she could be an actor in the future, but she would have to get over her stage fright instead of pretending she didn't have it.
"Hello, my name is Sylvie! Sylvie Maple! Are you going to Hogwarts as well?" She asked. It wasn't that outgoing of a question but hey! It was probably enough to start some sort of conversation.
