ㅤ──────────────────────| ── | It was a rather warm late afternoon. As a result, Kim was wearing a sleeveless white shirt with palm tree designs and a pair of black slacks. There weren't many days left before the weather would turn colder and wearing such outfits would be impossible. He reached up to scratch his currently white hair and flipped through his sketchbook to find a blank page. Glancing around, Kim began to sketch an outline of the castle and mountains in the distance, even taking into account the woods too. He was partway up a hill but not all the way up because that would most likely make him a bit nervous and he'd come out to relax and sketch. Not put pressure on himself for absolutely no reason. Kim kept on drawing. The white haired boy's current position halfway up the hill was directly beside a medium sized tree and a few bushes. So it was perfect to sit beneath as it provided some much needed shade from the blinding sunlight that made its way down from the sky above. And the area Kim had chosen was relatively quiet, not many people tended to choose this spot, which was out of the way of the main areas. Not far away, a green reptile slithered here and there around a certain boy, who happened to be its master. At first it kept to the general area. But then suddenly it moved. And slithered off, away from its master. It was almost as if it had found something of interest that it couldn't ignore as just a passing fancy, or wait to see. The snake had to go there now to inspect its newest source of interest. Kim sensed a presence nearby but upon looking up didn't see anyone around the general area. Perhaps he'd been mistaken? That was when the bushes rustled and a green snake poked its head out and slithered boldly in front of him to stare at him. It was obvious the snake was curious about him from the way it was looking at him. Kim stared right back at it too. The two stared at eachother for a long period of time. And then... "CUTTEEEEEE!!!" Cu Sith screamed at the boy through hisses. Kim couldn't help but laugh at Cu Sith's excitement over him and grinned at her. "I think that's what I should be saying about you! You're a cutie, where did you come from?" He asked in Parseltongue. Cu Sith seemed overly excited and slithered closer to him, which led to Kim putting down his sketchbook and patting one of his outstretched legs. He could hear her muttering a mantra of the same word as she came closer to him. "CUTE CUTE CUTE CUTE CUTE CUTE CUTE." As soon as Cu Sith came close enough to him, Kim reached out a little. He picked her up and placed her gently onto his lap. A warm smile came across his features, an expression he usually didn't show to anyone but snakes were different. Kim had always loved snakes. He'd been really close to his father's snake, Hebi and had talked with Hebi countless times. Picking up his sketchbook again, he rested it on one leg, as the other held Cu Sith, and used his free hand to start drawing again while his other hand started to pet the snake. "Where's your master, cutie? Did you come out alone? You hungry?" Kim asked, as he diverted his attention to both Cu Sith and his sketchbook at the same time. He assumed the snake had come with someone but there was always a chance it had come out alone to hunt. ────────────────────── ㅤ ㅤ──────────────────────

Cu Sith The Snake
It’s a good day to urge your pet to start scaring random people you pass by. Helped tremendously when most humans have this instinct to fear snakes. More than a few tales had snakes depicted as bad news and naturally gave snakes their uneasy aura. An aura that didn’t work on Parselmouths like him. Hanako could understand why snakes looked scary. But if anyone else actually heard what came out of his animal companion’s mouth, they’ll be more perplexed than anything. Fortunately for him, not everyone knows how to talk to snakes. Which can only mean one simple thing: that he gets front row seats to the horrified distressed faces of passersbys whenever he goes on a walk with Cu Sith. What a wonderful evening for him~
It was not everyday he decided to accompany his snake on her travels. She ventured out much too often for him to keep up. Thus, most of her outings have only been solo adventures. She was small enough to go here to there without being noticed, and has enough wit to avoid encounters with strangers. Hanako had taught her to be wary of people afterall.
And he would believe it to be something she had engraved in her brain. One thing he should release is how often he is wrong on these sorts of things.
D e a d wrong.
Next thing he knew, the little critter was nowhere to be seen and Hanako was this close to considering ordering a leash. Not that it would work on snakes, damn. Pushing down his evident worry, he grumbled some not so cute words under his breath and started scanning the area further. Calling her out in Parseltongue would be the best way to find her. It was almost as much of a good idea as screaming to the whole world that he was a Parselmouth. Nothing like revealing a dark and twisted talent you had to start off a good day.
Fortunately, it didn’t take lond for him to find Cu Sith. No sooner than a while later he heard an all too familiar “ CUUUUUTEEEE!!” Yep, found her.
With careful caution, Hanako stepped towards where he heard the sound. Yes, he knew where she was. But he wasn’t sure who she was with. It could be a oddly shaped twig, for all he knew. She finds obsessive fascination with a lot of things, animate and inanimate alike. Someone had to be careful, and if it's not going to be her then it's gotta be him.
Turns out to be the right decision. Wow. Shocking. Honestly. Hanako made the right decision? Where was his medal? He mused in his head right after he heard the all too familiar language of Parseltongue. Snakes and Parselmouth may understand one another, but they undoubtedly used different languages. Parseltongue was only available for humans and snakes had their own little hiss hiss. So this meant Cu Sith had found someone cute and alive.
Hanako managed to find a tree a few feet away from where Cu Sith and the Parselmouth assumed to be. With a closer distance, Hanako listened on to their jolly conversation. Totally not creepy at all nope. He hoped to discern the voice enough to recognize it as someone he knew. And unfortunately, to no avail. Just who was this Parselmouth? And why was it always him that found new Parselmouths in random places? Urghh what a drag, now he needs to recruit the new kid to join their club. What an unexpected day for him to work.
Welp. Here goes nothing. Hanako proceeded to step out of his hiding spot. “ Ohh! Cu Sith! Three youuu areeee!” his feet slowly made their way to the pair. “ Gosh, I’ve been looking e v e r y w h e r e for y-....you..?” Okay, now that he was close enough to actually see who the Parselmouth was, his head was empty for a second there. Brain cogs needed their time to turn. “ Oh.. oh , I see. It’s you~” Horrendous acting now set aside, he looked amused. “ Having a fun chat with my little Cu Sith?~ “
From where he stood, Hanako showed his well known innocently fake smile. The whole situation was amusing to be honest. Another Parselmouth right under his nose all this time. He wanted to commend the boy for keeping it so well hidden. Well, until now at least. But interrogating them outright would most likely piss them off. They didn’t have a completely ‘ wholesome’ relationship. Hanako wouldn't think either of them would describe each other as friends, nor strangers.
What do you call a relationship where someone maniacally laughs his ass off while the other screams bloody murder while flying a broom? Probably not friends, no. But at the end of the day, they both got what they wanted. Kim gains some experience with flying brooms, and Hana gets a boost of dopamine. That had always been the limit of their relationship however. Banters and all were fun itself, but there had never been a perfect time and place to develop into something more.
That all ends today. Hanako was going to be on his best behaviour, bet smile, best charm- to win him over. To their side. The Secret Society of Parselmouths that Hanako was involved in.
Let’s see how this plays out. If worst comes to worst, maybe Cu Sith will be the one to get him to join.
Speaking of Cu Sith, she remains utterly oblivious to Hanako's arrival. Her focus solely still on Kim.

| ─── | Kim couldn't help but be fascinated with Cu Sith.
It wasn't every day he met a snake as cute as her and thus he officially dubbed her with the nickname Cutie. She deserved it because who else could be cuter than her? It was only when a voice made itself known nearby that Kim froze, startled to realize someone else was around them. He hadn't heard any footsteps or sounds, which people would normally make who weren't lurking or stalking others. That in turn meant the person the voice belonged to had either been specifically hiding from him, or had been lurking nearby for some reason. As he came closer to him and Cu Sith, Kim recognized his face. Oh lovely. Of course it had to be him. Hana-chan, his unwanted personal flying teacher after class hours were over. Also, the boy obsessed with kissing him for some reason. Kim simply stared at him with an expression on his face that was like 'are you serious right now, it's you?' and let out a sigh, idly petting Cu Sith on his lap. "Oh joy. It's the boy who's obsessed with kissing me." Kim said dryly and looked down at Cu Sith again. She seemed to be enjoying herself and his expression softened a little again. He looked back up and over at where Hanako was standing. "Well, at least you have one thing going for you." Kim said. "Your choice in pets is the best. Snakes are really such adorable creatures, don't you agree?" Kim asked him and narrowed his eyes ever so slightly at the sight of Hanako's expression. He could tell it was fake. Being perceptive was a skill he'd always had from the very start, although in the past he'd tried to ignore it as much as possible. Probably because he didn't want to face the harsh truth. Back in the past, he'd experienced being betrayed many times by people he thought he'd gotten close to. Even though he'd noticed the warning signs from the beginning, he'd wanted to not believe his instincts. But now, it was very different. He was more wary and cautious when it came to trusting others. And he always looked for subtle changes in expressions and body language, whenever he was around those who claimed to be his friends. That had saved him from future potential heartbreak many times as a result and why Kim tended to be relatively closed off when meeting new people. He couldn't help but wonder why Hanako was putting on a fake smile for him. What was it he wanted? Did he think he was going to steal Cu Sith? Kim looked down at the snake. The white haired boy couldn't help but pet her again. She really was beautiful and so cute and adorable! Unlike her master. Kim looked back up at Hanako. "You come to claim her?" He asked, still petting Cu Sith. After all, the snake seemed to love the attention she was getting from him, so why not continue? Until Hanako claimed her back. |

Cu Sith The Snake
Okay. Props to Kim, really. The guy effectively avoided admitting he was a Parselmouth in this round. Then again, perhaps asking if Kim was enjoying a chat with Cu Sith wasn’t direct enough. No biggie. The game just started.
"Oh joy. It's the boy who's obsessed with kissing me."
“ We both know you won’t regret it when we do” He smirked, taking a few steps closer to the two. . And while at this point in time it was all jokes and giggles, he couldn’t have known that theory to was actually tested in the future.
He was, however, pleasantly surprised at the the boy’s next comment about snakes being the best option for pets. After a day of seeing horrified and unnerved glances thrown at Cu Siths way, it was a welcome change. Enough to push Hanako into letting out the smallest of smiles. One that was too genuine for Hanako to show too easily. Which is why it disappeared in the next second. Replaced once again by a plastered smile. “ another thing we both can agree on~”
Cu Sith continued to give Kim her undivided attention. Letting out a pleased hiss as the younger boy gave her a pat on her head. Hanako noticed slithering further closer to Kim. As if she was trying to get a closer look at his face. "You come to claim her?".
“Originally, yes. As she seemed enough hyper today to slitter out of my sight while we were on our weekly walks. “. He reached to the tree, leaning against it as he glanced down at the two. Hanako noticed slithering further closer to Kim. As if she was trying to get a closer look at his face. Typical Aesthetic Obsessed Cu Sith. "Though I have to say, I’m interested in claiming something else today. Someone, else”. Kim would find Hanako’s focus directed to him, an almost devilish grin on his face. As if he had stumbled upon a secret he wasn’t supposed to. And want nothing more than to drink in it. “ I heard you, you know”. He provided no othe explanation. Curious to how the other boy would react.

Hana's words didn't come as a surprise to him. They were just what he'd expected him to say in response. He seemed to have great confidence in his kissing skills and probably in everything else out there. Whether or not that was true remained to be seen. Not that Kim would ever let him get close enough to try it out, at least not if that person happened to be him. Part of him wondered why Hana was even interested in him. He didn't know who his family was. So, why did he want to go after him? It didn't make sense. Could it be his looks? Maybe Hana's ideal type for looks was what he had and that was the reason. A sigh escaped his lips. It was around this time that Kim noticed Hana's genuine smile which appeared for a split second and then disappeared soon after. Oddly enough, it made his impression of the slightly older boy a little better. Okay, so now Hana had two points going for him. One, Cu Sith. Two, a mysterious smile. Kim couldn't help but wonder what was behind that smile. It reminded him too much of himself and that intrigued him. He still didn't like him but at the same time wasn't completely averse to getting to know him more. Maybe just a bit. After all, he didn't want him to get the wrong impression. With that ego of his, he'd probably end up thinking Kim was into him, in that way, which would be bad. If he showed the slightest interest in him, Hana would probably jump on it and try and tease him. That was the last thing he could let happen, Kim couldn't give him any ammunition. Still, Kim had the curiosity of a Ravenclaw and thirsted after knowledge. As Cu Sith slithered closer over his body, Kim smiled down at her and allowed her to do whatever she wished, enjoying her movement. He was so distracted by Cu Sith that he almost didn't hear what Hana was saying to him at the same time. Until Kim realized Hana wasn't speaking. Right. There was a human with him too. A rather annoying one at that. "I'm sorry, did you say something?" Kim asked, looking up at him. "Cu Sith is just so much more interesting than you." |
