this is a series of posts from different events that will basically sum up how her life has been since she left.
Her first month back.
Silence. That's the only thing that Juniper had become familiar with since she came back. She no longer ran down the stairs screaming with joy when she heard her father's keys opening the door, she no longer heard his loud sneezes and she no longer could roll her eyes at his god awful jokes. She no longer saw him, because he was no longer here. Not here as in home, but here as in this planet. He had passed away, she couldn't remember the exact last time she saw him. Maybe it was before the summer. But he had died during Winter Break, so when she left she simply never came back. Of course, she was upset. She never got the chance to tell @Draven Mirador or @Kim Sato, or her best friend Lin of her absence. She had initially intended to tell them, honestly she did. The problem was, once she got home she had no motivation to do anything. She didn't even leave her bed, and her mother let her. Her brother kept a positive facade, but even Juniper heard his muffled cries behind his closed door. She admired his attempts to keep his sister happy and moving, but she refused to even do baseball again. Her poor ferret had to entertain herself while Juniper sat on her phone all day. She even got bored of her phone and would just stare at the ceiling for hours on end.

She sat up in her bed slowly and scratched an irritated spot on her arm before walking out of her room and glancing down stairs. At the bottom of the stairs was her Mom's 3rd boyfriend, and they were arguing. Her poor mom has tried to get a love life recently, and has only met shitty men. For some reason, she never left them. They only left her. And for reasons her and her brother could not quite understand, Trey (her mom's boyfriend) wouldn't leave their mother alone. So now her and her brother just watched a toxic relationship everyday, they didnt even see love anymore. Trey and her mother did not love each other. Trey sat on the couch and drank beer all day and complained about the T.v being slow, while her mom sat around or cleaned. They never had a sweet moment together, and Juni hated Trey. He was a
squib, and her mom thought he was good enough for the muggle life she had tried to move into with her kids. Juniper wasn't complaining.
Actually, she was.
Muggle school was shit. The kids were awful, and the boys were assholes. She's had a few heart breaks herself, honestly, and it sucked. None of the boys here were anything like her past boyfriend, Draven. Draven. She cursed at herself silently for picking at an old scab of a memory. Sure, she had been the one to ghost him but it still hurt plenty to think about him. She never wanted to reach out for fear he had already moved on with his life... or worse; hate her. No, she would much rather forget it all happened and live as if magic never existed.

She was honestly glad for the change. Even if it meant she wasn't the same person anymore, she found her own ways to cope. She got mixed up with some wrong kids, but she has yet to realize it. They've introduced her to unhealthy activities and now Juniper is almost never home. She spends her time at her so-called best friends house; emilie. Emilie has about 5 new boyfriends a week and is always bragging about a 'roster' and what she's been able to get her hands on. Theres been competition between the two over a couple of boys, and it was always a toxic friendship. But June never realized it was toxic, she just wanted a best friend, and that's what she thought she had found.Image posted by the member

She sat at the small round table in the cramped kitchen, staring at her now soggy cereal. "Juniper, let's go. We're going to be late, and if I get another tardy because of you I'm beating your ass. Juju, I'm so serious." She rolled her eyes and picked up her phone to see a notification from Emilie. She opened the text and stood up, leaving her school bag as she retreated to her room. "Juju, what the fuck?" She shrugged her shoulders and tossed her head back to look at her brother. "I'm not going today. And stop calling me juju, it's so weird." She walked up the stairs and passed her already drunken step dad, and gave him a very sly smile. "Don't trip"

She flopped on her bed and reviewed the game plan from Emilie. She stood up and began stripping off her clothes to change into new ones. Halfway through, she heard the door open. "Mom, seriously? Go away." She gave an exasperated groan and continued searching through her closet as her mom began to speak. "Well, I just wanted to know why you're not going to school today." June picked out a thin black v neck with spaghetti straps and held it up to herself. "Can't. Sick." She said dryly, pulling out the hanger from the shirt and throwing it on the floor. She hasn't been a fan of her mother since she started talking to guys again. "Well if you're sick, what are you getting dressed for?" June pulled the shirt on and rolled her eyes. "To be sick, I don't know now can you please leave me alone? Merlin!" She pulled on a pair of skinny jeans and threw on her old converse. She ran her fingers through her hair and grabbed her phone before walking downstairs and to the front door. "Ey, where the fuck do you think yer going?" She didn't turn around to look at her mother's boyfriend, she just opened the door and said "Shut the hell up." and slammed it.

She got back home the next morning, and saw her mother and her step dad waiting in the kitchen. Trey glanced lazily in her direction, he didn't care if she was alive or dead in a ditch. It was her mother who's face crumbled with relief and ran to June, grabbing her face. She pushed her away. "I'm fine." Her curly hair was knotted, there were maroon stains on her jeans. There was a new rip at her knees, and she was standing with a black eye. She was not fine. Her mother furrowed her eyes. "You smell like alcohol. Were you drinking?" Again, she pushed her mom away. "and what happened to your eye?" She smacked her mom's hand away and headed to her room. "Juniper Kelly you come back here this instant." She scoffed. Lately, her mom has been all bark no bite. She wasn't going to do anything, so she kept walking. "Juniper, you have until the count of 3." At this, she turned around and stumbled with a laugh. She raised her eyebrows as her mom counted down.
"..3" Her mom finished, clearing angry that her daughter had not listened and at a loss for words. June tilted her head as her mom gaped. "Juniper Kelly, you-" She pressed her lips together and waited. "You're going to live with your Uncle Aidan. " This knocked off her smug look. She rushed forward, no- more like stumbled forward and grabbed her mom's shoulders. "What? No the hell I'm not. You're funny. You're really funny." Her mom shook her head and slammed her hand on the counter. "No, I'm serious. I'm done with your bullshit. I don't care what happens to you anymore since you won't let me. And if that's the case you will not be living under my roof. I'm contacting your uncle tonight." June backed up and laughed. Nothing was funny. Why was she laughing? "Oh, you mean the uncle who doesn't come to our family gatherings because nobody likes him? The one that Dad hated? The one that has no kids because no woman wants him? The blood purist? I don't think so. He's a bitch." Her mom scowled. "Language!" June rolled her eyes. "And yes, I'm sending you there because you know what? You may not listen to me anymore because you know I won't actually do anything to you, but we both know he will. Maybe he'll teach you some god damn respect." Juniper stared at her mom, feeling a whole new level of anger.
