Take The '70s from Astronomy And You Have Modernization
This is a farewell solo post from Octavius but you are free to join in and see an empty classroom, see the notes, etc. The only restriction is that you cannot interact with Octavius as he's left the school at the end of the post. Clark Baird (my student pc) will be in the thread, just wandering around the astronomy tower, so if you wanted to interact with him, just ping him when you're in and a Clark post will be up.
Not that Octavius could necessarily avoid it, he felt that perhaps his son was costing him a bit too much for him to actively work at Hogwarts and to take money out of his payment because of the hell and disaster his son causes. He didn't know what he would do about Clark, but he did know that he handed in his resignation letter to the Headmaster's Office, on his desk.
He would basically spend the day packing up his office space, his classroom, and his cot bed in where he was sleeping throughout his eight months of employment as the Astronomy Tower. Honestly, he knew that it was better that he took his items he brought to the school so that the class was personalized to fit his comfort, even if it made others a little uncomfortable to know that he put carpets everywhere.
Placing the albums and records he played in class during the lessons inside a box that he had saved from his father's childhood. Since his father had been deceased, he might as well repurpose the box to be used for his things, especially when he didn't want to figure out how to stuff a million things inside a suitcase while he was packing up. Now, earlier that day when he went down to the great hall, he glued a sticky note that he wrote onto the door of his classroom.
It said,It was not a nice sticky note, and Octavius knew it. He couldn't figure out how to tell it to Raizel as he felt the girl was always absent, especially in his class. But what Octavius wouldn't admit was that he wasn't observative enough. He was the problem. But he would not admit that. Why not stir up some drama for someone as he leaves Hogwarts?"Raizel, SHOW UP FOR CLASS. I can't believe you haven't been kicked out of Hogwarts yet for the length of time I've marked you as absent. Then again, I have let my son take attendance or look over my attendance before he would do anything else. So maybe, just maybe you've avoided certain death that way. Honestly, I wish you would've just got expelled for not showing up to class."
His books on the Space Agencies, NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), the Universe, Theories, History of Astronomy, Astrology Books, and everything of that like.
He thought about how his own son encouraged him to step down from the position, saying it would make him feel better mentally and physically. How students were being destructive and chaotic and all cruel to each other. Of course, Octavius knew that during that talk with his son, that Clark left himself out on purpose to make himself seem like he was truly the perfect angel.
Ah, memories of Clark having money taken out of his own payment. Such lovely thoughts.
The Former Professor squatted onto the ground to roll up his orange wool carpet as carefully and as slowly as he could to try and make sure it was rolled perfectly.
Once he had done that, he moved on to the next carpet, red and this time, carefully placing his lava lamps inside so that they had extra cushioning. He did what he just did with the orange carpet but made sure to be extra careful. He feared it would be like a muggle mail company seeing the word 'Fragile' on your package and throwing it all around and ensuring they hit every bump or anything that would break the package just to claim it came that way.
He was a man who loved his lava lamps and he wasn't going to treat them like muggle mailing companies.
He looked around the room. Would anyone else care if his couches and such stayed in the classroom? Probably not... unless they feared it was too hard compared to modern day couches.
Okay so he would leave his couches behind. Maybe they'll burn it or repurpose it. Not that he wanted either to happen to it but he couldn't just take it home with him by himself in the middle or towards the start of the year. Right, and he still had his cot. He wasn't taking that home either.
Nor was he taking home the graded homework of his students. He didn't need them. Well, he would need Clark's, Simon's, and Ben's. Perhaps Logan's since he might as well stop by his brother's house today, could just drop off her graded homework then. So all the homework, graded and nongraded were lit on fire. Apologies to those who did their homework. He knew Raizel's homeworks were in that pile, but seeing as she was never present (he didn't pay attention in class to see if she were present), he might as well not grade it. It would've been a waste of time.
Right, if that was all, he would just put his clothes into his trunk and just kiss his sons goodbye for the semester. He wouldn't be seeing them until the Summer, and that had to be the saddest part of his resignation.
--fast forward to the end of packing clothes--
He lined up his sons and he bade them farewell, whispering into Simon and Ben's ears to watch after Clark and to write him any time Clark steps out of line so he could send his son howlers every time. Maybe this method could cause him to stop his mischievous behavior. He's tried multiple times, but maybe this long distant method could help.
Now that he had everything out of his mind, and of his classroom with the exception of the left-behind couch and cot, he would leave and get onto the train to go home. Turning around for one final look at Hogwarts, "I'll see you again one day. Wishing you well my sons, hope you guys have as much fun as I did going to and teaching at this school."
Explicitly mentioning @Raizel Voltrouz and permission granted for the note to say what it says.

Colin heard the rumour! He was in shock all through History of Magic and Transfiguration. It struck him like a blow and his heart sank. It couldn't possibly be true, could it? He had to find out. Leaving his last class before lunch, he charged through the corridors with single minded purpose. His journey led him along the upper floors of the castle and over towards the Astronomy Tower.
His bare feet pounded up the winding stair cases, past the Headmaster's Office and various other rooms. And at last he came to the broad landing that led to his ultimate destination. The astronomy classroom. It was surely one of Colin's favourites! There was a note posted on the heavy wooden door. He scanned it. He smirked.
@Raizel Voltrouz. She was a first year Gryff he had flown in a race with. He chuckled as he read about how she was always absent. "How could anyone want to skip astronomy class!?" Colin shook his head. "She must be mental!" Colin grabbed the handle of the door and shoved it open. The door swung inwards and came to rest with a soft bang against the inner wall.
The sound echoed softly in the space.
Colin looked around the classroom. The weird lava lamps were gone. The strange rugs were gone. The rumour must have been true! Professor Baird was leaving! --- No. Professor Baird was already gone! Colin drew a ragged breath. A few tears began to fall from his eyes. He really liked Professor Baird and he just left! Colin didn't know what to do, so he just stood in the room. He cried softly. Colin wished Liam were here. Or Clair.

Binding Mark Alert! @Clair Fernandez
Keep your mind in hell; and don't despair.

❂《 ⌜ --- ▎ --:-- ⌟▛▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔There was no reason for Raizel to be here, Astronomy wasn't her favorite, more so when she learned at some point that apparently the professor had been marking her absent despite the fact that she didn't miss any of his class.
As lazy as she might look, Raizel had never missed a class for all her 1st year and of course that carried over to her 2nd year but it looks like it wasn't like that at all. It all started with a howler, an unexpected one at that. Why? Sure, she had gotten into some fight but most of those were unofficial duels! She wasn't going around punching people on the face whenever she meets them and no matter how punchable some are and getting on her nerves. She was no barbarian. In fact, she was always the victim of these unwanted fights. Raizel is the type of person who would just mind her own business, staying in her own lane unless wronged. Then that's when she'll stand up to those who had done so. But unfortunately, the universe wasn't kind enough to let her enjoy her peace. Whether it'd be her just walking around or trying to be good towards someone, it mostly results in others turning hostile towards her for no reason? What was she doing wrong really? What?! That she doesn't understand.
Because of that, she rarely wanders now, always staying in the common rooms or just inside the duelling club, her frustration being directed into a training dummy that she could get her hands on. She already has a lot of things to deal with. Her constant failures, her awful duelling performance and people just kept piling up on it, it was surprising that she could still keep her cool and sanity. Until that howler though. It had set off a bomb that's been ticking for so long.
Her mother's voice, despite the gentleness in them, still retains the sternness that she always hears whenever she has done things too far but nowadays, they rarely happen. "What is this missed class that I heard about?" It started off that sent Raizel into a state of utter confusion. Missed class? Her? And then it just went on after that. Apparently her attendance was close to nothing when it comes to her Astronomy class, a class that she always sacrifices early sleep to whenever they have one. So all those sacrifices were nothing? Shocked, confused, angry, the rest of what that howler said were muffled until its last words and tearing itself apart. Her emotions were running wild.
Her fist was clenched at the time, so hard that they were turning white. She kept her cool on the outside but on the inside, she was seething with anger. She had to write a letter back at that time to assure her mother that she wasn't absent from any of her classes. While she might not seem to be the type of student who takes her studies seriously, she does, heck, she has straight Os and only a couple of Es, her Average was Outstanding. Now she feels like her academic performance is being threatened by something that she didn't do, by being absent or so they say when she can't even remember when she did such a thing.
Oh, but that wasn't the end of that, oh no, there was more and that's when she completely snapped. A note. Not only was the professor telling her to show up to class, the same class that she's been attending, but wished for her to get expelled for something that she didn't do? No, it doesn't matter that this guy was a professor, she demands to talk with him about this, get some answers about these stupid claims of her being absent. While she would address this to other staff around Hogwarts, she wants to hear what this Octavius has to say. That's right, there was no point calling him a professor after ruining her academic performance like this, after her mother sent her a howler that she doesn't even deserve. They said that you can trust adults but after this? No, not anymore. Who knows what other professors are up to, who knows if they are on this. The professors that she looked up to are starting to fade away in her mind. Trust is such a fragile thing, once broken, it'll be harder to get it back. She'd love to see them try though, but why would they care about a single student's trust when they have so many believing that they are kind and respectful. In the end, even if she complains, it'll just turn into her being the bad guy.
Everything is fine, is what she would tell anyone, unaware of her plans of storming into the Astronomy Professor's room. This was a fight that she needed to deal with on her own. Was she thinking of casting a spell towards the professor? Fighting him? Not really, but who knows what stupid things she'll do when all of her emotions, especially her anger, is letting her control this much. What awaits her in that tower was nothing but a classroom with no professor inside, only a weeping boy that she somehow finds familiar yet she couldn't comprehend who it was as her mind was filled with other thoughts.
Now what then? She just has to suffer the consequences of something that she didn't even do? Not even given a chance to be heard or correct the ones that had wronged her? She gritted her teeth as she stood in front of the door to the classroom, hands clenched and shaking with fury.
This was unfair…
A loud impact on the door, her fist meeting with its hard surface, bruised, maybe broken but she didn't care, the pain wasn't there with her blinded by the rage that had surfaced after all the restraints that she had put on it, on herself. She was already breaking before this, when her efforts for duelling aren't being rewarded and now the same thing is happening with this stupid Astronomy Class. She was putting effort but what did that reward her? A howler, expulsion threat.
"What the heck…" was all she could utter, taking a deep breath, thinking on her next move now that the very person that could correct all these misunderstandings was nowhere to be found, leaving her to find a solution on her own. It was unfair, really unfair. What did she even do to deserve this? Tears were threatening to fall but she can't let it, she needs to stay strong right? She shoved her hurting hand into her pocket, head lowered before giving the door a kick. Astronomy will forever be something that she'll hold a grudge to, no matter who runs it. What? They expect her to show respect after they treated her like this?
In their wildest dream.
Baird, Baird, Baird, the name etched in that mind of hers as she started walking away with a frown on her face, her eyes filled with hatred. The more she thinks about it, the more her blood boils. That hatred will carry on while she lives in this world, a hatred that will continue to burn, for Baird, for Astronomy, maybe to other adults as well but she will see how much this spreads.

Take The '70s from Astronomy And You Have Modernization

Since Clair and Colin had completed the process of the binding mark, Clair had yet to get used to the racing of not only her thoughts but Colin's as well. Not to say she wished that it would go away, she liked being able to talk to him without anyone else knowing. The only problem was that a couple of times when she had meant to say her own thoughts, his thoughts had been what she'd said his instead.
She had never realized just how much her boyfriend thought of her, it seemed like every few hours she was hearing her name in his thoughts, it was very endearing to know that he thought of her so often, though part of her was guilty that her own thoughts were not glued to him as much.
Clair had heard a rumour that the professor of Astronomy had left, and she had guessed it to only be a rumour. Either wy She was neither sad nor happy, Clair was not horrible at Astronomy, but she found that she would rather be sleeping at that time of night than trying to focus on a class. especially if she wanted to keep her grades above Es in Astronomy. The Lava Lamps had been a distraction for her as well, and her tired brain had often spent the late nights mindlessly staring at the muggle contraptions that reminded her of her grandmother for some strange reason. It had been the pull of Colin's thoughts that had brought her to check tonight, instead of just waiting until the rumour proved itself to be either incorrect or truthful.
When she got to the Tower she instantly noticed that the room was painfully empty compared to what it had been like the last time she had been there. The Lava Lamps were gone, along with all of the other quirky things that Prof. Baird had brought with him. Clair wondered briefly if the man had taken his son with him, or if the school (mainly the poor staff) had not been that lucky.
Clair muttered the activation word for the binding mark, when she spotted Colin"Hey, are you alright?''
