Trouble Strikes Again
The leaves were freshly fallen on this mild autumn morning. The students that day had a break between classes and the young Scot thought it would be best served going for a stroll around the grounds. Dennis exited the castle with a group of students but soon detoured from the earth onto a grassy knoll.
He wore a navy blue sweater under his school robes to keep warm, always sure to pick clothing that really contrasted his red hair. He was always so proud of it and it was the first thing he wanted people to notice about him. Also he spent way too much time every morning trying to perfect that messy but also kind of stylish look - sometimes he didn’t get it right but on days like today, he nailed it.
Dennis was lost in thought as he wandered quite aimlessly around the grassier sections, paying no mind to what might lay beneath the leaf covered surface. The boy really should be more careful but he was thinking, as he often does, of family. His father’s family was not so far from this very castle, and he wandered if he should visit them over the winter holiday. His family had encouraged him to spend his first Christmas at Hogwarts to get fully immersed in the culture but that didn’t stop him from being homesick.
His foot felt something at that moment. It wasn’t quite as hard as a stick but it wasn’t a leaf either. A hiss and a missed strike later, Dennis ended up on his but and spider crawling away from what ended up being a rather large snake. Later he would swear it was a giant basilisk but it wasn’t that big or that dangerous. Regardless, Dennis couldn’t back away quick enough as the snake coiled to strike again.

"Parseltongue" Grounds @Dennis Tumberton 8:04 am, 5th November, 2023Elisa was strolling around after yet another boring History of Magic class, It was not like the young girl hated it, she had just read all the chapters of it and now was aware of everything about that subject for the year even before the class discussed it together, If it wasn't for her overstudying habit, she enjoyed it, She enjoyed all subjects except for Astronomy which was just too hard for her to understand and for the poor girl's luck, she had to once again sit through Professor Bairds boring lecture today at 10:00 pm, sometimes the girl wished to just the burn the classroom down but she couldn't afford to be expelled from Hogwarts and much worse is that even If she doesn't get expelled, her parents getting to know about it would be the end of her little life in Hogwarts, they would surely send her away to some strict school like Durmstrang, it would be the worst thing for her,
As the girl continued strolling, she caught the sight of a boy struggling, as she went closer, she saw a snake trying to strike the boy, the moment she saw that, her eyes widened, she threw her bag away and ran towards the boy, she pushed him a bit back and glared at the snake, she then slowly whispered in Parseltongue "Why did you do that, you could have hurt this kid", the snake slowly looked at the girl with a normal look which deep inside had fear in it, the snake slowly hissed "Youuuuu understandddd meeee, Youuuu musssttt beee a speaaakeerrrr, Immmm soooo sorrryyyy foooorrrr hurtinnnnggg yourrrrr friendddd, I wasssss justttt hungryyyyyyy", When the young girl heard that the snake was hungry, she slowly went near it and picked it up, the snake slithered towards her shoulder and rested, Elisa than hissed again "I will feed you as soon as I make sure this boy is okay?", she then looked towards the boy and said "Are you okay? Would you like some water to calm down? How about you sit down for a second? Inhale and Exhale and please don't worry about the snake, it is friendly", she said while looking at the boy while feeling worried for him, he looked like he was going to burst out any time now, he had sweat in his forehead, Elisa slowly walked towards her bag and picked it up before going to the boy and offering him a napkin from her bag, "Take this and wipe those sweats" she said while observing the boys face which looked like someone spilled white paint on his face.

Trouble Strikes Again
@Elisa Shakestra
Dennis blinked. One moment the snake was about to eat him whole, according to how he tells the story anyway, and the next the snake seemed to calm down and was looking off in the direction of some rather disconcerting hissing. Great, now he had to deal with a whole gang of snakes! However, instead of a horde of snakes there was a girl in green Slytherin robes. She picked the snake up as if it was her pet and the snake, as nice as you please, laid across her shoulders.
Dennis’ pale complexion warmed a bit when the danger was gone, still huffing and looked up at the girl. A girl with fair wavy hair and the natural calm cool demure of a pureblood despite all her goofy antic. It was Elisa! He couldn’t believe his luck. “Elisa, you saved me!” Dennis said, hopping to his feet, still leery of the snake.
He didn’t take his friends advice and paid for it. He was immediately woozy from the sudden loss of adrenaline and fell back on his butt. Holding his head, he started to make sense of what just happened. “You are a parseltongue?” He said as if in a daze, from his tone it was impossible to tell whether he was repulsed or overjoyed. He rubbed his temple a little longer before slowly getting back to his feet. He regained his composure and started again, this time his eyes positively glowing with excitement, “You can talk to snakes! That is so cool! Being a Slytherin must be awesome!” He pumped his hands in excitement and went over to Elisa.
“But…what did the snake want? It looked like it was going to kill me…” Dennis asked, still a little disquieted by the snake on her shoulder, half afraid it would eat her instead.

"Parseltongue" Grounds @Dennis Tumberton 8:08 am, 5th November, 2023As the snake stayed on her shoulder while the boy stood with surprise, Elisa's eyes searched around the place for something that she could feed the snake, there was no way she was going to let a helpless creature go away with a hungry stomach, Since her childhood, Elisa may not have had a soft spot for people but she surely did have for plants and animal because at least they never judged her for her mistakes.
As she looked around, she heard a familiar male voice exclaim that she had saved him and somehow the boy knew her, Elisa instantly turned towards the boy and looked at the ginger-haired boy, It was Dennis Tumberton, a fellow Ravenclaw she met in her first day, ' Crap! Why should he he be the one who finds out about me being a parselmouths ' she thought, while continuing to curse herself in her mind, She had always to keep her ability Parselmouth a secret, After she mistakenly spitted it out in Hogwarts Express to some girls. After a while, she looked up to him and said " Dennis? How is everything going? The saving? Nah, I had to do it ", she then again looked at the snake and petted it, since it looked a bit offended by Dennis's comment.
As she continued to look around for food for the snake, she heard Dennis exclaim about how exciting it was for Elisa to be a parselmouth while being a Slytherin but little did he know, hearing this her face suddenly turned emotionless, the color in her face faded and there surrounded an scary yet cold aura around her, Parselmouth was a bit of a sensitive topic for her, It was a feature that Elisa loved and hated at the same time, Parseltongue had led Elisa to find her best friends, a couple of snakes in a garden but It also seemed like a nonstop reminder to her about her annoying family who sees her as nothing more than just a next heir of the family since she was the oldest of her generation, it was also a reason she was held with a lot of pressure from the family since she was said to be the only parselmouth born in the family after a long time but other than those two titles, she meant nothing to her family, maybe for her grandparents she meant a bit but for her Father, she was just the heir to the family who is meant to be perfect and preserve the family's pride while to her Mother, she is just another young girl born into the family who must be raised to become a perfect pureblood woman and get married off to some pureblood guy when the proper age comes, tho her parents expectation were completely different, they did make it sure to her from a young age that her life is their decision.
After a while, the blonde girl also heard Dennis ask her about what the snake wanted, Elisa knew that this time, she couldn't really skip the question, since the snake had attacked Dennis for the sake of what it wanted, she slowly replied in a cold tone"The snake is starving and was looking for food but for some reason thought you were a good meal for it, ", Elisa instantly then turned her emotionless face from Dennis and started yet again looking around, After a couple of minutes, she said "You are welcome to join me in finding some rat, and one more thing, maybe being a Slytherin is cool but being a Parselmouth in a Pureblood family is not always cool and I prefer you not talk about it." she said while looking around the grounds yet again but this time without facing Dennis.

Trouble Strikes Again
Dennis found himself more comfortable around the snake with Elisa so relaxed around it. Now that he looked at it, it wasn’t as big as he remembered, nor was it as scary. The Slytherin’s casual demeanor also helped him settle the reminder of the rush he felt from the encounter. It was nice to have a friend.
Dennis couldn’t ever remember getting to his feet but there he was standing. “I’m sorry, Elisa. I didn’t mean to hit on a sore subject,” the ginger apologized genuinely. “I just think the gift is incredible. Perhaps that’s why it was given to you and not me. I’d be way more irresponsible with it.” He chuckled looking at the ground as if to prove his point about him being clumsy. “I won’t bring it up again or to anyone, I promise. I really admire you for it! I’m not so interesting as to have any sort of ability so maybe a little envious…”
He dropped the conversation at the mention of finding a rat. He was always up for a creature hunt. “Let’s get looking for that rat though. I can help! Let’s feed this snake a treat!” he said, and then finished the thought, ‘before it eats me.’
“How do you find the studies at Hogwarts? Pretty challenging right? I think there are a few professors though that might have it coming to them.” Dennis said as he hunched down in the grass to try to find some food for the snake, despite the fact that no self respecting rat would go anywhere near humans that were specifically looking for it.
