"I know," with a straight face, Sere walked over to the bedside table and left the 'strawberry lolli' she had sucked earlier in the empty ice water's cup that Pearla had finished, "Thanks to my appetite. Now I clearly -instantly- know that it is not strawberry."
Sere glanced at Pearla who melted-down under the blanket. Ah! Why am I just realizing it now? Sere could see that there is a pair of little fangs sticking out on Pearla's head. This is also the only possible explanation about why the heat of the sun could cause a severe piggy-burn to the Slytherin girl's skin.
"So you are a Dhampir," Sere shot straight to the conclusion. She looks at the doubtful and terrified eyes peeking out from under the blanket. Wait, is she afraid of me? Shouldn't I be the one who is afraid of her?
Sere shook and patted her forehead. You should have done the analysis earlier, Sere! Earlier than eating that blood candy abruptly. Sere turned to the girl, "And also, you've been lying to me all the time," Sere sighed, "That's okay. I must look so silly, right?" Of course she couldn't grumble or get angry with the action -taking and eating the lolli- that she did herself.
"And... I've never personally met any Dhampir student before. You're the first one. I missed almost everything about your features," Sere brought her face closer, squinting at Pearla's blue eyes with no fear, "but I can obviously see it now."
Sere pointed at the cup of lolli in Pearla's hand, shuddering at the taste, while saying, "What did you call it again? Umm... Blood-lolli? Do you like it that much? Which is better, the berries or that lolli?"

Pearla's eyes were an unmistakable blue, though a dark and covering blue, not red. She wore contacts to hide the red color in her day-to-day life. She quietly and slowly nodded at the 'dhampire' question. She took a moment to breath and sat up. "Well of course I did, I don't just go telling others I'm not really a human.. Nn' No, you're not silly. No one really figures it out." She closed her lips tightly to hide her fangs that were out from eating her lolli. Her eyes grew *wide* hearing that it wasn't something they could figure out but yet, easy to figure out. "no-no. It shouldn't be. I can't just walk around with fangs and claws. I'd be called a monster 'r freak." She put her head into her hands, hiding her pale complexion from the room and Sere. When the last question was asked, she just pointed a finger at the loli. Clearly having a very direct and strong taste for her bloody candy than fruits.
"But I guess fruit isn't bad. It's just not the same as candy. Like'mmm a better version of your favorite chocolate bar."
Pearla spoke into her hands, trying to pull herself back together. She'd never slipped up enough to be figured out, something that genuinely worried the snake beyond much else. Slowly she'd peek out from her hiding and look to the Gryffindor. ". . Are you going to like tell everyone? .. Hearing the worried monologue that came out from Pearla's mouth made Sere feel an attachment to the Slytherin girl. "You'll be fine. Trust me."
Remembering that she was bullied and shunned by almost everyone at her old school because she was too loner, had strict parents who made her unable to socialize with her peers, and several others didn't like her because of her above average abilities in academics. All of this things make Sere able to sympathize with Pearla's anxiety, even though she's not good at showing it. "You will find some friends who accept you for who you are, trust me. Look! I am your friend, and I don't really care about who or what you are! You will also find some others too!" Sere thought for a moment, "Maybe it will take times to find those friends... But, again... Just take your time." Sere seemed to be talking to herself, who is actually also still having difficulties on finding friends.
After hearing Pearla's thought about her blood-lollies, Sere reached for something in the robe's pocket. Lemon Sherbet, her favorite candy. She opens the wrapper while saying, "I see. Then I will stick..." Sere devoured the yellow candy, "...on something that becomes my favorite too."
Sere shook her head in response to Pearla's concern, "You have my word. I won't tell anyone. You're the one that have the right to tell people whenever you feel ready." Sere showed a little smile to calm Pearla.
"Do you have something to do after this? Go down to the Great Hall and wait for dinner time maybe? Umm... Do you really enjoy the food you eat all this time? Or do you eat just to blend yourself with others?" Sere frowned as she lowered her voice, "I'm sorry. Can I ask about that?"

Pearla's eyes watched the other's candy curiously as to its flavor while listening to everything that Sere had to say. Adjusting herself in her bed she'd started to get up. Taking all her extra loli's and starting to put them in her bag. "I don't mind food. I like blood mixed in, but totally normal food is really okay. Especially when I'm super hungry, an' it is okay, you can ask.. no one is around. Guess it's weird to talk about. But it feels. Good? I dunno if that's the right term." She shrugged and nodded to a nurse who came by. Grabbing her extra bits to her uniform and deciding with the heat to avoid putting them on.
"You wanna, um... try being friends?" Pearla gave a hopeful smile. Folding her jacket over her arm, paying mind to how it rested to avoid wrinkles. "I really haven't managed to find too many, and you seem, um. Not scared of me! so that's a good starting point, yeah?" Pearla seemed all but desperate for the answer. Giving a toothy grin where her two fangs were quite literally missing. While listening to Pearla's explanation, Sere followed the girl's actions. She took the robe from the feet frame of the bed and folded it over her left arm, then grabbed her things she had put on the chair next to the bed, put it in her arms. "It's good. Good is the right term," Sere nodded, "As for me, it's good to know you more." The only not 'good' thing is the taste of that blood-loli. Remembering it will always make Sere shudder.
Sere looked back and gave a small nod -again, doing it like Pearla did- to the nurse who came by. She's sure that Pearla is allowed to leave. "Let's be friends. We can owling and meeting anytime." Sere feels happiness inside her heart, flowers are scattered around, but the girl's expression certainly doesn't show it. "You're fine," Sere showed her right hand's thumb and index finger, making a little gap between the fingers, "Scary... but... just a little bit?" She's joking. "I like the way you are though."
"Let's walk out together, Pearla." Sere's right hand hugged the book again and she stepped out of the Hospital Wing. Pearla seemed like on the good condition. She looks fresh... umm... fresh but pale... Sere doesn't know how to explain it. "Thank God, you look better now."
The temperature in the late afternoon is still that hot. The books that Sere hugged are still that thick, and her homeworks are still that much. The third floor corridor is still that quiet. The only difference is that two girls who has just become friends, walking hand in hand, running through the Heated Fall Day with warm hearts that surely will not burn any of them.
