Lost in the halls
Jade listened to Luna intently, she didn't want to miss anything incase it came up later. "I'm a first year too, and to be honest I thought you were a second year." Jade replied a bit relived that she was talking to someone her own age.
"If you don't mind me asking, what does the Slytherin common room look like? I heard there are windows that look into the lake, I don't suppose you know anything about the lake? I'm quite interested in the creatures that live in it." Jade asked eagerly. She had heard that there were some windows that went into the lake. I wonder if luna's seen any of the creatures in the lake Jade thought to herself.
Jade couldn't wait till she could take Care of Magical Creatures It sounded amazing. A class dedicated to learning about magical creatures and how to take care of them, now That was something Jade could do. While Jade was pretty good at spells, she was having a bit of difficulty with the book work, just in the areas of explaining magic. It was something Jade felt more than thought and the words just wouldn't come to her.

"You thought I was a second year?" Luna asked again, but the girl was sure that she did not hear it wrong. "Well, if that was a compliment, I would like to say thank you." She was not really high, only five feet four inches. But Jade might think so because of the way she talked, or because she seemed like she knew a lot of things about this place? The Slytherin girl wondered, but she decided not to ask for the answer.
"You are right that we can look into the lake from the windows, our common room is under the Great Lake after all. The room is made from stone and it is quite long. The main color is green, you can see a lot of black things too, and we have green lighting. The carvings are absolutely gorgeous and I'm sure the person who did those is absolutely a talent person. And as I said before, there were some windows there, and a fireplace, which makes the room looks warmer. She thought about the common room and tried to remember how did it look and explained it to Jade. "I have visited the lake, only once. Because I went there to read books, and I met a Hufflepuff guy, so I didn't really observe the lake..."
"How does the Hufflepuff common room look like?" While still walking up the stairs, Luna asked the little Hufflepuff.

"Wow, I wouldn't have minded being in Slytherin. You should look at the lake sometime, its beautiful, I'm particularly interested in the Mermaids City, what its made of and, I wonder if it glitters, with the sun shinning through the water. The Hufflepuff Common room is quite lovely, its all made of wood and brick and has a large fire place, its always warm in there. There are really comfortable chairs and cushions everywhere. One of my favourite features is the windows, there are large circular windows at the tops of the walls that let in sunlight and give a direct view of the sun." Jade raked her brain to see if she left anything out. "Oh, and there are a lot of potted plants all around the room, some on shelfs and some hanging from the ceiling, its really lovely." Jade finished off
"It's funny, I never truly appreciated it until I had to explain whit it looked like. I suppose it's just one of those strange things the brain does. Did you know that the statues of the knights helped in The Battle Of Hogwarts? According to the history books Professor McGonagall preformed a spell that made them move." Jade had always loved reading about The Battle Of Hogwarts. It was just how brave all those involved had been, it was heart warming.

"I'm happy that you sound like you like the Slytherin's Common Room, although I have not described everything about it." There were a lot of more things in the common room, but Luna just decided to describe the basic. Since Jade just told her a lot of things about the Hufflepuff Common Room, the girl decided to add another information. She closed her eyes and thought about the room. After a few seconds, the lavender eyes looked at Jade again. " There are some skulls, animal skulls, on the fireplace." They were not really creepy though, it fitted the fireplace.
"I am pretty sure that the Hufflepuff Common Room looks quite lovely. Oh, The Battle Of Hogwarts? I was going to read about it but did not have the chance to do so. Would you mind telling me about that battle? You can just say some basic stuff." The Slytherin could easy realize that the blond hair girl was interested in this topic. And about what she just said, it was the truth. She was going to read about the battle because it was quite popular, but whenever she went to the library or the shop, Luna was distracted by a lot of other books.

"Well, there is a lot isn't there, I guess I'll start with the basics. So, as you probably know the battle of Hogwarts was a battle between the occupants of Hogwarts and Voldemort's Army. During this battle Harry Potter went throughout the castle looking for the last horcrux, you do know what a horcrux is right?" Jade asked uncertainly.
"Well anyway the point is Harry Potter and his friends were running all throughout the castle trying to destroy objects so they could kill Voldemort. During the battle many died. Like Fred Weasley, Nymphadora Tonks and Remus Lupin. During a break in the battle Harry Potter went into the forest and somehow he lived through the death curse a second time. after that Voldemort came back to the castle with Harry's body. When they reached the castle Harry sprung to life and the battle restarted. This time they only needed to kill Voldemort's snake and they could be kill him. Neville Longbottom killed the snake and after a lot of fighting Harry managed to kill Voldemort. So yea, thats the basics. There were many types of creatures in the battle. "I have heard of Horcrux." She nodded, remembered about the book that mentioned it. Although there were not too many information about Horcrux, she could understand why. It was dangerous, not safe at all and the most important thing, Luna did not care about that at all. Immortal? Not interested at all. She wouldn't refuse that she didn't want the people who were close to her die, but no, not Horcrux.
Nodding, the girl waited for Jade to finish and gave her a compliment. "I guess you are pretty good in this." There were a lot of things that she did not know before, for example, how brave Longbottom was. "I guess it was because the professors were really good? Jade followed Luna around the corner "If I'm not mistaken we're on the second floor? I haven't really explored it yet not having any classes on it." Jade asked looking from side to side.
"In answer to your question, the boy-who-lived or Harry Potter was the reason Voldemort died. The books aren't really clear on it but from what I've read somehow Harry died then came back to life and for some reason he could then kill Voldemort? It's all very strange and undocumented." Jade said frowning a little.
"I suppose they don't want anyone to know much because if a 'dark wizard' got hold of the information he could use it against the Ministry." Jade thought aloud.
They turned another corner to a corridor with windows, Jade moved to them and looked out them while they walked. Since Jades first day here she had been amazed by the grounds beauty, but she had never seen them in this lighting before. With the moon shining through the clouds it gave a peaceful, yet scary look. It reminded Jade the forest beside her home.

Nodded, Luna answered, "It is normal when you have not visited this floor. And you are right, this is the second floor." She turned to the Hufflepuff and showed her the map on the book. "As you can see, this floor has the study room and the classroom, I do not visit these two places often though..." That was actually not a lie. She enjoyed doing homework in the Slytherin Common Room, Library, Grounds and near the Great Lake more. The Slytherin Common Room made her felt warm, the Library was usually quiet and there were a lot of books which was quite convenient. There were a lot of people on the Grounds, however, she loved the fresh air outside. Same went to the Great Lake. "The abandoned toilets..." She had never visited this place though. Not lying, she was actually a bit scared to go there. They were abandoned after all... Sighing, she pointed at the last place, "And where we are, the corridor.
"I'm not so sure... Maybe he is just faking the death? He survived after You-Know-Who cast the Killing Curse on him when he was young after all." Her lavender eyes slowly turned to the beautiful view outside. She actually preferred being outside when the moon was up, but Luna will not do that, at least not in Hogwarts.
It did not take a long time for them to went out of the corridor. "This stair, remember, this one will lead you to the first floor. Don't change to any other stairs, or that will be..." She stopped and was not going to continue the sentence. Sometimes, did not finish the sentence was much scarier. Although she did not want the Hufflepuff girl to be scared, of course, she didn't, but well, this was for her sake. If she misunderstood... Rolling her eyes, she turned her back to Jade and started walking after saying, "I should leave now, goodbye."

"Goodbye, thanks for the help" Jade called after the girl. With that she started down the stairs.
When she reached the bottom she started down the hall and immediately recognized the Defence Against The Dark Arts class room. Her favorite class, as she passed she couldn't help but to peak inside, the room looked so peaceful in the moonlight.
Jade continued down the corridor looking at the knights that lined the walls. She glanced down at her watch to see she had exactly ten minuets to get to the common room. She started to jog as she had taken a detour and was now a twelve minuet walk from the common room.
Jade sped up a bit but wasn't really worried about time now. A statue caught her eye so she stopped a second to look at it. She glanced down at her watch again to see she now had only two minuets to get back to her common room.
Starting to panic Jade took off at a run, this however didn't help much as she tripped on a loose stone. Jade picked herself up from the ground to find that she was only a few steps away from the common room entrance.
Relived and feeling a bit foolish for panicking Jade entered the common room and slumped down on a chair in the corner of the common room. "Well I'm defiantly not doing that again"
