A New Friend? POV: Tracey Bailey Finished

@Tracey Bailey An RP between Beatrice Woods and Tracey Bailey meeting in the corridors. First Person.
I'd considered myself a pro at making friends but none had yet been made. I twiddled my thumbs like I always did as I wandered down the corridor heading nowhere in particular.

Exploring these corridors was interesting. I'd gotten lost many times but had either found someone to very discreetly follow or I found my way back on my own. When I say discreetly I mean it looks like I'm so crazy stalker following them.

But I'd never tell anyone that I'm lost because why not? Well, there are a lot of reason why I should tell someone but I probably never will.

As I wandered back up the corridor I'd just walked down, I realised I hadn't owled my parents in five days. Oh no. I promised I would owl every two days.

Eh, I'll go owl them now.
Wandering up the the owlery was going to be boring so I decided to go later. I began thinking about books.
What would I read next?
Was it a book from home or a school book? Again?

As I was deep in thought I managed to walk into someone. My brain took a minute to process before I apologised and looked up to see who it was.

Tracey was bored and she wanted to do something, but didn't know what. She was sitting in the Ravenclaw common room trying to think of something to do. She had just finished her homework and wanted to go out for a walk, so she got up from the chair she was sitting in and left the common room. She wasn't sure where to go, but since she was bored, maybe she'd just wander around the castle and maybe she'd find someone to talk to and maybe she'll make a new friend. Tracey began walking along a random corridor that her feet had taken her too, and she wasn't exactly looking where she was going, but she was able to see what was in front of her. While walking, Tracey saw another girl walking towards her and noticed that the girl wasn't looking where she was going, and Tracey couldn't move out of the way in time, so the two bumped into each other, but none of them ended up on the ground which was good.
"I-it's ok. I-I should've said s-something so you'd know that I was walking here. Uh, I'm Tracey Bailey, a first year Ravenclaw," Tracey says once she heard the girl apologize to her.

The girl told me her name was Tracey and that she was a first year, like me but in Ravenclaw.
She'd said that she should have said something so that I knew she was walking there but it wasn't her fault.
'Genuinely, its not your fault I was just daydreaming.'
'It's nice to meet you Tracey.'
I smiled.
'I'm Beatrice Woods, but you can call me Bea.'
'I'm a first year too!'
'But in Gryffindor'
'The House of the Brave!'
I giggled.
Tracey seemed shy but she seemed nice.
'Sorry for walking into you.'
'I wasn't paying attention.'

I hoped that Tracey didn't dislike me for walking into her. I wanted to be her friend.
I wondered what her favourite book was.
I wanted to ask her but I didn't want to scare her off with my hundred questions like I did most of the time.
She was a Ravenclaw. I hadn't met any Ravenclaws apart from the ones I'd discreetly followed to lessons if they were in my class which wasn't extremely often.

'I haven't met any Ravenclaws yet.'
'But I'm glad you were the first one, you seem really nice.'
'This is so random, but I talk piles so if there's something you want to say something try and tell me cause I bet I won't stop.'
'Also, do you have a favourite book?'

Why did I always have to ask such stupid questions?

Tracey heard the girl speak and the girl introduced herself as Beatrice, but told her to call her Bea, Tracey made sure to remember that. She also heard Beatrice tell her what house she was in, and Tracey hadn't encountered a Gryffindor yet, so maybe she'd become her friend. She also heard Beatrice apologize, and so finally, Tracey said,
"Y-you sure? It's nice to meet you too, Bea. Wha-what's it like being in Gryffindor? My mother was a Gryffindor and my father a Slytherin. It's ok. At least I'm not like some students that yell at you if you bump into them,"
Tracey slightly laughed at what she had said at the end, but she had met some people in the muggle world that'd yell at you if you bumped into them, and she'd always apologize to them quietly, and she was glad that they even heard her when she did. Remembering those memories made Tracey glad that Beatrice had bumped into her and that she was nice.
"Y-you seem really nice as well. I-it's ok if you talk a lot, I'm just shy so I-i'll probably stutter a lot. Um, no I don't have a favorite book, but maybe you could help me find one if you like to read books that is," Tracey says in response to what Beatrice had said.

'To be honest, being in Gryffindor is probably quite a lot like being in Ravenclaw, apart for apparently Ravenclaws are quite quiet. Let's just say us Gryffindors, we are not quiet.

Tracey seemed kind. She'd admitted to being shy, I'd met a lot of shy people and a lot of them had downright refused to talk to me but she seemed nice.

'It's quite strange that your mother was in Gryffindor, your father in Slytherin, and you in Ravenclaw, imagine you had a sibling and they ended up in Hufflepuff.' I thought about how crazy that would be.
'I guess you've just got big brains and witty. Whatever that means, I memorised that from a book of the traits of each house.' I admitted.

'It is really good you're not someone that shouts at you if you bump into someone otherwise I would be getting shouted at a lot.' I laughed.

Also, you don't need to worry about stuttering, I'd never judge you for it. Maybe one time we could go to the library and I could show you all of the books I've read, cause maybe that way we could find you a favourite book.

Maybe we have the same taste in books, that would be cool cause we could have little book gossip sessions.'

It was nice to have someone to talk to that wasn't rude or unappreciative of me trying to be their friend.

'Do you want to meet me somewhere later to go to the library? It's fine if you don't, no pressure. I smiled.

Tracey wasn't surprised by Beatrice's answer, but she was going to correct Beatrice on a wrong thing which she had said about Ravenclaw's since not all Ravenclaw's are quiet. She's met some Ravenclaw's that aren't quiet or shy like her.
"Not all Ravenclaw's are quiet," Was all Tracey said.
She didn't feel like saying anything else, since she couldn't really think of anything else to say. Tracey slightly giggled at what Beatrice had said about Tracey being in Ravenclaw, her mother in Gryffindor, and her father in Slytherin.
"Actually, my aunt on my mother's side was sorted into Hufflepuff, but my uncle was also a Gryffindor, like my mother. But, I'm an only child, so I don't think that'd happen. Hm, I guess your right, I tend to get the riddle right on the first try, but sometimes it takes a while before I get it right," Tracey says.
Tracey had stopped stuttering. She already felt comfortable with talking to Beatrice which was a very good thing. But this was also the quickest she'd stopped stuttering upon meeting someone for the first time before.
"I normally don't shout a lot, I actually don't think I've ever shouted before, so your good. Also, I've stopped stuttering! I think this is the fastest I've ever stopped stuttering upon meeting someone. I'd really love that. I've never been able to read a book that I actually liked, so maybe you could help me find a book that I'd like to read. Sure, I'm not really doing anything, so we could meet up at the library or near the library," Tracey says.

'Exactly! I knew all Ravenclaws weren't quiet! Some must just be more talkative than others.
I was shocked that a discovery of Ravenclaws was found. Even though it wasn't that shocking.

'I'm an only child too, twinning.'
'People in your family have been sorted into each house, which is really cool. You could ask all sorts of questions about what the common rooms looked like. Wow.'

'It is really hard to find a book you like or one that you connect with. I struggled for ages to find the right genre, but you find it eventually. I think if we do go to the library that will be the first thing to get you looking for a favourite book.
Genre's are very important when reading, in my opinion.'

I hoped I wasn't overwhelming Tracey with talking so much. I'd noticed she'd stopped stuttering and so had she and I said:
'It's so good you've already stopped stuttering.' I smiled broadly at her.

I enjoyed talking to Tracey she seemed very friendly and I wanted to get to know her more.

'Maybe we could meet up sometime this week to go to the library, as I have a few books due back so we could take them back and look for a book for you?'

Beatrice did warn her that she talks a lot, but she wasn't expecting Beatrice to talk this much. Tracey just listened and waited for Beatrice to stop talking before she said something, since Tracey didn't want to talk over her. Once Beatrice had finally stopped talking, Tracey nodded her head then said,
"Yes, that's right. Oh, that's cool, I wonder what it's like having siblings. I'm not close with my family on my mother's side, I've never met them so I'm not sure how I could ask that. I've only met my father's parents, tho they live in the Muggle world. Oh, really? I never knew that, we should do that tho. I'm not sure what my favorite genre is. What are the genres? Yes, indeed it is, but this is the quickest I've ever stopped stuttering before, like I had already said. Sure, we can meet up sometime this week, I think any day would work for me,"
Tracey smiled back at Beatrice. Tracey was feeling two emotions, happiness and a slight discomfort since Beatrice was talking too much, but Tracey knew that she'd just have to get used to it. Tracey also had a feeling that her hair was turning a light orange color, and she just hopped that Beatrice wouldn't notice the change in her appearance.

I think Tracey hoped that I hadn't noticed her hair change colour but wasn't going to mention it.
I was controlling myself. To stop talking so much. I'd probably made Tracey uncomfortable and decided at this time it was probably best to part ways.

'I'd better head to the owlery, but I'm in the library most days.'

I was the library most days. Mostly reading books I'd already read, hadn't been fond on and re-read them to try and like them which worked rarely.

There were a few books with pointless plots, or too selfish characters, or I just didn't connect with the book.
I hoped I wasn't zoning out in my thoughts too often, but I did that in almost all of my conversations.

I wasn't sure what to say at the moment. For once I was speechless. I'd never been good at ending conversations, but I could try.

'I'm in the library most of the time, so if you want to meet me there sometime this week, whenever you are free. It's fine by me.' I smiled.
'I'd better get going but I'll see you soon?'

I hoped I'd see her again she seemed friendly. She seemed like a good person.

I smiled and wandered in the direction of the owlery.

Tracey had a feeling that it was time to part ways. Tracey wasn't exactly sad, since she knew that she'd be able to see Beatrice again in the library sometime, but she wasn't sure when. Tracey wasn't sure where she'd be going after this, but decided to go back to her common room, or maybe take a walk around the castle.
"Ah ok. I think I'll just walk around the castle then I'll go head to my common room. I'll see you in the library maybe on Friday or Thursday, not sure yet. Maybe I'll see you in some of my classes," Tracey says.
She wasn't exactly good with parting with people, but she makes it work, somehow. She watched as Beatrice left in the direction of the owlery, and Tracey felt her hair go back to its original style and color. Tracey then turned around and decided to walk the other way, since she wasn't tired, nor was she hungry, so she decided to take a walk around the castle. Who knows, maybe she'll find another person to talk to, or maybe she'll find a secret room or passageway that might lead her somewhere. She had already found a secret room on the fifth floor, maybe she'll wander back into that room without knowing.
