“Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark in the hopeless swamps of the not-quite, the not-yet, and the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish in lonely frustration for the life you deserved and have never been able to reach. The world you desire can be won. It exists.. it is real.. it is possible.. it's yours.” - Ayn Rand

Livius has grown up in a full-blooded wizarding family, and as such has been excited to be finally growing to Hogwarts. His family were tree farmers, with their wood being used for generations in wand and broom making. It was a hard job, that left little outside of work to enjoy. They made enough money to get by if only just, as other farms began to crop up to compete.

He was a cute kid. At least his mother and her friends always said so. A smaller frame, with messy sandy blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. They said he would have all the girls doting over him when he got older. Not that it was something he ever worried about anyway.

He is relatively outgoing, very much a people person. Has a sort of charm when talking to people that just make then want to listen. Been that way ever since he was a real little. He is also pretty smart for his age. In large part to the education his mother bestowed upon him in her own time. Lastly, you might say he is an ambitious child. Always thriving for more, for a higher purpose.

His parents were good people, his father a Gryffindor like his father before him and so on. His mother a Ravenclaw. They were proud and firm people, who did their best to raise their son as a hard worker, to not take things for granted and appreciate what the world gave you.

No one could say he wasn't raised to be a good kid, and for the most part he was. Sure, he would have fits of the usual childhood mischievousness, but there was nothing really major to speak of. Though as he grew older, he began to become frustrated at what his family had. He would see all the other families, children who were getting whatever they wanted by parents that were better off. Why couldn't his family have such nice things like that? Instead of balancing and ensuring they paid only what they needed to, there was no reason they couldn't live nicer like everyone else.

When confronting his father with this question, his father smiled and gave him a ruffle of the hair. "Some people in life have different skills, a better mind, or just a better circumstance than others. Me, I like what I do. There is a lot of pride to take in raising these trees when you know you're impacting so many lives. You could find pride in it too son, I promise."

No, he wouldn't. Livius didn't want a life as meager as this. He wanted to grow up to be someone special. Someone who never had to worry about what they would or wouldn't be able to afford. Someone who could take care of his parents when they got old. He would do that.

His mother, Ravenclaw that she was began to teach Livius some general knowledge about magic. It was during one of these sessions that his first conscious memory of using magic happened. He was having trouble remembering the word for something, and his mother was pestering him about it. "You remember it, Livius. Concentrate." At this point he was getting a bit peeved. He was trying to remember it, he really was. He just couldn't.

It was during that frustration that the glass beside them flew up and emptied the contents all across the books that they were reading, drenching them. The books ruined, his mother wasn't angry. In fact, she was happy that something had finally managed to manifest itself in some form. He was seven.

Now the time had finally come. Hogwarts. He was beyond excited to get started, so see where this journey would take him. To learn all that he was able, and move his life away from such tedious labor.
