Jade had had an eventful first week and as Friday was coming to an end Jade decided the best way to relax was to be alone, Jade hadn't been able to be alone with her thoughts and now she was she starting to remember why she didn't really make friends in Winchester, while company was great thinking, was better, or at least thats what Jade had thought.  In imagination one can be free, but in thought one can finally step back into reality and view things as they are.  "what to look at first, maybe I'll climb that tree to get a better look at my surroundings.  Possibly read a book while 'm up there, yes thats what I'll do." Jade muttered under her breath.  She went over to a large oak tree near the lake, it was early evening so Jade decided she'd go back for dinner at sunset.  Grabbing the lowest branch Jade pulled herself up and started to climb. "Woah" Jade said reaching the top and looking at the view, she could see all of the lake and the surrounding forest, she could see the castle like never before.  Jade leaned back against a branch and closed her eyes, it was heavenly up here, the birds chirping, the wind in her hair, and the lack of children talking.  Jade didn't mind people talking, but the disarray of children sometimes drove her nuts. The yelling and raised voices, they were enough to make her scream, which is rather ironic.

(Feel free to join Jade and either talk with her or just enjoy the view with her)

It was a Friday afternoon, the first week at Hogwarts was coming to an end. Feeling somewhat homesick; decided to spend the remaining time before dinner at the lake, besides Hufflepuff common room it was the only place that reminded her of home. She sighed thinking about the week's events, it hadn't exactly been easy, her first class potions was terrible and she let it slip that she didn't know who her father was in transfiguration. Now it seemed the whole cohort of first years either stared or whispered about her as if she was Gill’s daughter, one student even bolted from her during Defense Against the Dark arts, saying “I don’t want to be blasted to smithereens.” Of course, the idea of her being Gill’s daughter was altogether preposterous to Lilac. She didn't seem to have an ounce of magic in her, it was during her first potions lesson that she managed to melt not only her cauldron but that of the Hufflepuff boy standing next to her. The only subject she seemed to have any ability to perform well in was astronomy and as far as Lilac could tell no magic required there.

Still, the idea did scare her; Her introduction to the magical world by Ministry personnel, apparently wasn’t the norm, wait till that one gets out, thought Lilac. And she was no closer to finding out who Mrs Griffin was or what department of the Ministry she was from; and who in the wizarding world left her a vault at Gringotts. Lilac reached the lake and sat down in frustration, she had no idea how to answer these questions, and she wasn’t keen on telling anyone either; somehow she thought even if she asked a Professor they wouldn’t tell her either.

She heard a noise behind her upon turning around to her surprise Jade was in a tree, it was clear that Jade seemed like she wanted to be alone.
"Oh sorry Jade, I didn't realise you were here, I can go if you like?..." Lilac stood up in preparation to leave, but she couldn’t help herself; she just had to ask.
"What are you doing in a tree, and how on earth did you get up there?"

River was walking across the grounds, favourite book in hand. A blue one, which she had gotten from her mother. It was a book she had read many times, but never got enough of. Man has it been a long week, she thought to herself as she strode over the grass. Classes had been really challenging for her, she really didn’t understand how so many people were rearning how to do magic so easily, when she seemed to have trouble doing anything. Reading felt like the only thing she really knew how to do now. She wasn’t good at making friends either, and hadn’t really talked to a lot of people yet.
River stopped, her blue eyes scoped the surrounding area, where should I sit down to read? She looked for a place with some shade, since her skin burned easily in the sun. Maybe the trees are my best shot? she thought, spotting a nice, big oak tree near the great lake. She started walking in the direction of the tree.
It will be nice to get some space away form all the other students, she though. River was never a socially strong person, and being around a large number of people would quickly drain her of energy. I think I saw someone over there a minute ago, she hoped there wasn’t a lot of people by the trees, but a few wouldn’t hurt anyone.

"What are you doing in a tree, and how on earth did you get up there?"

River stopped for a moment, that must have been the person I saw earlier, it came from the other side of the tree. River looked around and came upon a hufflepuff. Oh, sorry. I didn’t mean to interrupt River said nervously, and gripped her book tight. Oh, you’re the girl I was standing next to during potions,River let out a quiet laugh, remembering the event earlier.Wait, who were you just talking to? She asked confused.

As Jade was sitting in her tree she heard a voice from below ""Oh sorry Jade, I didn't realise you were here, I can go if you like?...But what are you doing in a tree, and how on earth did you get up there?" it sounded like Lilac, Jade was just leaning over to catch a glimpse of who it was when another voice came from the other side of the tree. "Oh, sorry. I didn’t mean to interrupt. Oh, you’re the girl I was standing next to during potions. Wait, who were you just talking to?" The other voice asked confused. "She was talking to me, I'm in the tree. You don't mind if you both stay if you want, I'm Jade but I can't see either of you two, would you mind telling me who you are so we can have a more civilized conversation?" Jade said in answer to both their questions, two people was company, but if more kept coming Jade might have to leave. Jade was happy to have some company though, and maybe she could help the other students into the tree so they could all enjoy the view together. Jade could read her muggle book later, now was apparently the time to socialize.

However, the voice replying wasn't Jade; "Oh, sorry. I didn’t mean to interrupt. Oh, you’re the girl I was standing next to during potions. Wait, who were you just talking to?" Lilac looked around the other side of the tree, she saw a Ravenclaw girl standing there, she did seem familiar to Lilac.

"She was talking to me, I'm in the tree. You don't mind if you both stay if you want, I'm Jade, but I can't see either of you two, would you mind telling me who you are so we can have a more civilised conversation?" Said, Jade

"Jade, it's me Lilac; I've been wanting to catch up with you, how's your week been?"

Lilac looked at the tree Jade was in, tall for an oak tree, with a strong base that stretched into the sky, the branches stemming off from the trunk were thick. The birds in the tree didn't seem to mind either one of the girl's presence; as they sung their songs enjoying the sun as it slowly began to set. Lilac made a squeamish face as her stomach turned; she missed her island; the farm life; Lilac considered climbing the tree to sit with Jade, seemed like the perfect cure for homesickness, only thing was she had no idea how to climb the tree, it seemed there was little place for footing at the stump of the tree.

River saw the hufflepuff girl look up towards the large mighty crown of the tree, when she heard a voice say «She was talking to me, I’m in the tree. You don’t mind if you both stay if you want, I’m Jade but I can’t see either of you two, would you mind telling me who you are so we can have a more civilised conversation?».
River looked up into the tree branches trying to spot where Jade was.
«Jade, it’s me Lilac; I’ve been wanting to catch up with you, how’s your week been?»
Lilac, that was her name, and Jade who were sitting up in the tree. River looked over at Lilac, these girls seemed to already know each other.
«Oh, Nice to meet you Jade», River said, beaming up towards the dense canopy. «And nice to meet you Lilac, she nodded towards Lilac with a suddle smile. «My name is River by the way. I’m coming up!».

River looked up at the large tree. She was very used to climbing trees, it was something she used to do all the time at home. She scanned the sturdy trunk of the oak tree looking for where to start the climb.

She spotted a sturdy looking branch a bit above the ground. She put her book in her bag, and headed for the branch.
She had to make a little jump for it, since she was so short, but she caught it, and heaved herself upwards. After the first branch, the rest of the climb was no challenge. She looked down towards Lilac who were still on the ground. «Do you need any help?» , River asked politely.

Jade looked down and caught a glimpse of red hair "Oh, Nice to meet you Jade. And nice to meet you Lilac, My name is River by the way. I’m coming up!" And with that Jade could her the sound of someone climbing the tree. "Do you need any help?" River asked, Jade assumed she was referring to helping Lilac up the tree. "If you want I can come down and we can both help her up" Jade said. Jade decided to just go down a bit and see if they needed help as even she had had a bit of trouble reaching the branches and she was quite tall.

"This" Jade thought "Is going to be fun" and with that Jade started back down the tree, Jade had never liked climbing down, if she could she preferred to jump. But Jade didn't think that would be appropriate as she could land on Lilac, not to mention she would have to climb down quite a ways before it would be safe. Reaching the lower branches she finally got a good look at River. She was a short, pale girl with Long curly red hair and large glasses. Overall Jade thought she looked rather beautiful, Jade had always wished she had red hair, it was so beautiful. "Hi" Jade said smiling at her.

Lilac looked at River as she climbed the tree; she had no issue with it; she just grabbed the lowest branch possible and heaved herself up. It was like she was born climbing trees. Lilac meanwhile despite her best efforts, couldn't jump high enough to reach the branch. Do you need any help? River asked politely. Lilac smiled and nodded back at River. She couldn't possibly see how else she was going to climb the tree. If you want I can come down, and we can both help her up" Jade said.

Lilac noticed Jade seemed rather excited, as she climbed down to a lower branch, however she was still above River. "Hi" Jade said, smiling at River. River answered "Hello" back and returned the smile.

"Right, let's get you up River said stretching an arm out to help Lilac up the first branch. The first is alwasy the hardest."Said River. Lilac managed to scramble her way up onto the lowest branch with some assistance from River. From there she managed to crawl her way up the rest of the tree; although rather awkwardly almost slipping on several occasions. Lilac didn't stop until she reached the highest branch. The view was breathtaking; the sunset looked amazing. The remaining sunlight glistened on the lake's surface. Wait a minute thought Lilac, sunset! "Oh no." Muttered Lilac "Were going to be late for dinner." Lilac thought to herself, how will I ever get down from here, then she had a dreaded thought. "What time is the crewfew for the Hogwart grounds?" Looking rather worringly at both Jade and River as she spoke. She didn't want to get Hufflepuff into trouble.

River looked down at Lilac who thanked yes to the offer with a nod. River smiled and heard Jade call down from above "If you want I can come down, and we both can help her up". She could hear Jade climbling steadily down the tree. And in not long she was on the same heigt as River. Except the fact that Jade was quite a bit taller than River. Jade was quite like River pictured from the sound of her voice, the long beautiful light hair, and brown smiling eyes.
"Hi" Jade said, a smile shining on her face. Hello River answered, smiling back.
Right, let's get you up River said stretching an arm out to help Lilac up the first branch. The first is alwasy the hardest, River smiled at Lilac. She was a bit shorter than Jade again, and had pretty hazel eyes gleaming softly.
The rest of the climb was slow and steady, and in not long she was at the top of the mighty tree. River turned around to look out over the grand lake glistening in the evening light. She sighed. This is incredible she thought to herself in the quiet of the air. The silence was broken by Lilac who muttered something."oh no". River looked worringly over at Lilac. "Were going to be late for dinner" she said. "Right. Dinner", River had entierly forgotten about the time, she had been having so much fun. "What time is the crewfew for the Hogwarts grounds?" Lilac said worryingly.
Well, I'm pretty sure we have to be back in our common rooms by 10:00 pm, but I didn't even think to bring my watch with me River answered. She did not want to get in truble. She never broke the rules. River was starting to get a little anxious and wondered what the time was.

OOC: By the way I'm using Jade's eyes colour for her speech, she is indeed a Huffle not Gryfin I just decided to do it because I can :)
As they made it to the top of the tree Jade marvelled at the view, she could tell the others thought it beautiful too. "Oh no, we're going to be late for dinner. What time is the grounds curfew?" Lilac asked worriedly. "Well, I'm pretty sure we have to be back in our common rooms by 10:00 pm, but I didn't even think to bring my watch with me" River Replied. "I brought my watch, it's 7:00 so we have a bit of time before we have to head back" Jade said smiling.

After a bit of scilence enjoying the view Jade asked "So where are you two from, originally? I'm from Ireland, though you might of guessed that, I do have quite a strong accent" She was pretty sure Lilac was from somewhere in England and River sounded like she was a mix of english and something else. Jade's thoughts then strayed to the Quidditch pitch and wether or not her parents had told the school not to let her fly. Jade hoped her parents hadn't, Jade really wanted to learn to fly.
