Describe why this fits your character (WWC 406/400):
Wren has always had an affinity for sneaking around, weaving between furniture and dipping silently through unnoticed corridors. The house she grew up in, Snowbell Manor, is old and creaky, it hides many secrets, secrets that Wren was always dying to know about. Now Wren, growing up, she wasn't exactly a shy kid, but a solitary one. She enjoyed her family's company, but always preferred to adventure alone, or with her cat slush. There were many nights when she would sneak down the stairs, slush in tow, and out the back entrance to the woods to see what they were like at night (in hindsight a very bad idea). In fact she learned everything she knows from her cat Slush, at a young age she noticed that no one but her was able to find Slush, so when she wanted not to be found, she mimicked her. She learned to creep silently around her house so as to not alert anyone of her presents mainly because she just didn't want to talk to them, they’d always stop her, and give her something to do, never quite understanding that eve n a child like her had tasks that she needed to complete for herself, but there was another reason too, her GrandMother. Her GrandMother was a nasty old woman with a vindictive attitude and always a word to say about Wren. Wren hated being around her and would avoid it at any cost, trying to reduce their interactions only to meal times because, unfortunately, her grandparents lived at the house with her family. Every time she'd see her grandmother, even at dinner, she would loudly complain about Wren, putting her down in every possible way. And it was worse when her parents and grandfather weren't around to tamper it down. So she learned to be silent, better to not be seen, heard or even known of, then to be known of by that horrid woman. If 7-year-old wren had had it her way, she would've never would've been known of again. Even now she can still hear her words ringing in her ears whenever she messes up. As you can imagine, this had a negative effect on her self esteem, and yet no matter how much it hurt, no matter how many times her mother and father and grandfather told her it wasn't true, Wren would take knowing what someone says behind your back, over not knowing.

Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it) (Wc: 436/400):

Elodie was raised in a small, rural town where she had often been shunned for her odd behavior. This often resulted in her spending her days with the creatures that occupied the village, causing her to form a deep bond with them and animals in general over the years. She grew up spending lots of time with her dog and the other creatures that could be found in Monmouthshire. Shortly after joining Hogwarts, Elodie adopted a cat, with which she quickly bonded, aided by her talent for dealing with such creatures. She'd always had a way with animals and had spent months learning their different body languages and behaviors, studying them for hours on end. Furthermore, she's always loved to read, which was how she learned of an ability certain people possess, which allows them to use their pets in a way that would benefit both of them. This intrigued her because of her interest in being a magizoologist, and she resolved to study into this more, spending every second of her free time studying the ability and practicing with little success with her cat. However, she was determined to learn this, certain that it'd be incredibly valuable later in life. Elodie spent countless days flipping through book after book, wasting away the hours in the library. She groaned, stretching her arms over her head and placing down the leather-bound book, crouching to stare into Minnow's eyes and running a gentle hand over her spine. "Alright, girl. Let's just get this done, and then I'll give you some nice, delicious tuna, yeah?" She said softly, studying her reflection in the cat's hazel eyes before rising to her feet. "Now, find!" She commanded quietly but firmly, watching the cat dart off to sniff under the bed and around the room before jumping onto a shelf above Elodie's bed and meowing loudly, indicating she'd found the missing object. Elodie beamed, moving to stand on her tiptoes and grab her wand from the ledge, allowing her cat to jump down and balance on her shoulder, purring proudly in her ear as Elodie scratched her behind the ears and offered her a bit of tuna. This was Minnow's specialty, finding lost objects on command. She was also quite skilled at mousing and stealth, graceful and silent on those small paws. The cat chirped in Elodie's ear as she sank onto the couch, reaching to remove her from her shoulder and set her on her lap, running her fingers through the soft fur behind Minnow's ears. They'd been working at this for quite a while, and had finally achieved their goal.

Siobhan has always been a person who people seek out for comfort. Wether it be her friends or her family, when people feel sad or unwell they come to find her because she has the uncanny ability to match people's emotions and make them feel better about themselves. She has always been on the quieter side and prefers the company of plants and books to humans but will never turn down the opportunity to make people feel better.

Her extended family comes from a long line of Scandinavian and Celtic 'folk health' for lack of a better term, who focus on natural remedies for illness and wounds rather than modern medicine (though she is versed in basic modern first aid at her mothers insistence.) She knows which plants are poisonous and which can be combined with muggle items such as baking soda to provide relief for pain or be used to create salves and pastes for bug bites, and cuts. Siobhan often tends to her siblings when they come back from their respective activities with injuries. As mentioned previously her mother taught her basic first aid as before Ophelia McCarty settled down she worked at the local hospital as the Charge Nurse and taught Siobhan everything she currently knows about medicine.

Siobhan is a very outdoorsy person and on her family's wide acreage plot of land, has a medium sized greenhouse and garden that is filled to the brim with flowers, fruits and vegetables, and plants such as Aloe (for burns), Feverfew (for fevers), Echinacea (for colds and the flu), Ginkgo(for asthma and tinnitus), and Milk Thistle (for liver health) for medicine just to name a few. Each plant was taught to her from her father's Scandinavian side or by her mother's Celtic side and then cultivated and cared for by Siobhan herself. She has a very strong green thumb and spends most of the time in her garden preparing her plants for cuttings, or to be used for preliminary and precursory medicine (similar to how muggle vitamins work)

Siobhan is very interested in Herbology and Potions and upon finding out about what someone with skills in both could do as a healer, has become very interested in learning how to expand upon these abilities. She has spent considerable time in the library at Hogwarts reading up on the basic information of potion ingredients in preparation for her class, and is learning how to balance the duality of her wand. While Ash wood has commonly been associated with healers, the troll tail hair has little to no information available to her. If anything was to be a set back it would be due to her wand's core. Siobhan has always felt an undeniable relationship to the Earth and feels as though she is more in control and imbued with more power when she is able to interact with plants and animals. Her parents suspect that it may have something to do with her unusual birth story

There was always something about Argahlon that seemed to catch the eye of others. Whether it was his fair skin tone, dark green eyes, the orange hair that seemed to always be parted perfectly, the pearly white teeth, or the few scars that stretched across his face from a recent tussle with some thorns during a broom race. It was all passed down through his family’s genes because though they were all Wizard born, they all saw themselves as purists and had to look the best no matter the occasion. This was their way of expressing who they were and what exactly to expect from them. They were far from rich, but always felt the need to look their best at any given moment, because who knew what could happen, or if someone would come unannounced.

When Argahlon Vexius was younger he spent a lot of time around both parents, learning from them by the things they did on a daily basis. From the way they spoke, to their hygiene habits and more. Taking in every little thing he could at such a young age gave him the impression that those things needed to be done every single day, which caused him to start his own routine when it came to certain things, like brushing his teeth and flossing three or four times a day, along with combing their hair to make it look as perfect as possible. Argahlon’s parents always told him that looking will always help you feel good about yourself, so he took that to heart.

Recently, Argahlon thought that the new scars had made him a bit more attractive, rough around the edges some may say, but it was all from a very fun experience. Even though the broom race was unofficial, Argahlon felt that it was something he could continue to do in their spare time. Quidditch was going to be their main focus going forward, even if broom racing interested him. Arg’s strict family is what would lead him to continue down the path he chose from the beginning. Argahlon Vexius was no quitter and that proved to be true with everything he did in life. It was to make sure everything was done at one hundred percent. Slacking would lead to mistakes, which would lead to failure. That was another thing his parents did not tolerate, so he knew that if he mimicked them in almost every sense of the way, Argahlon would have no issues with them personally.

Minnie has always been shy and always has wanted to change into someone to not be noticed, or to change her appearance. Her Metamorphmagus has helped her be more brave as she can make a mistake and just change her appearance a bit to try again. Her talent also helps her fit in with her family who all have talents. Her sister has a wonderful talent of manipulating people easily. Her brother has a special gift for animals. Her Mum is great at calming people down and her Da is superb at spellcasting. This makes her Metamorphmagus work wonderfully with the family, this is her special talent. One time when having the ability to change her hair color made her fit in when she had a trip to America and New York. Minnie’s mum was making a fuss over how Minnie looked. Minnie had long blonde hair. “No. No. No. A flight is not a time for blonde hair. Try black hair, that works well.” Minnie sighed.

“Yes Mum.” She screwed her face up and imagined herself with long black hair. Her hair changed to black and she smiled. “There Mum. Happy?” Her Mum smiled.

“Yes dear. You know, having a talent that is magical goes a long way in our family. Like your great great grandfather, a parseltongue. Us Duke’s are very magical. We are amazing, and your talent helps you actually fit in!” Her Mum exclaimed. Minnie nodded, having heard this speech before. She got on the plane and sat down. A flight attendant complimented her on her hair. When she got off the plane to a hotel, her father started ragging about her hair.

“A good person will have long brown hair as to not stand out.” Minnie sighed a bit. But she changed her hair to brown nonetheless. “Good girl. Your talent is something that is of great use and skill for the Dukes.” The same speech that made her feel like she belonged. When she went out horseback riding with her brother Jack, she changed her hair to red.

“Nice one Min. I love your talent. Maybe one day you can use the talent to help me with animals!” Minnie giggled.

“Alright Jack. I’ll keep that in mind.” She replied. When she went to the city of New York, her sister Lil reproved her for her hair.

“Make it back to normal. But purple.” Minnie nodded to Lil. She put her hair back to the way it normally would be, and turned her hair purple. “Now you look like a New yorker.” And so that day was a good one because of her talent. Minnie’s talent of metamorphmagus makes her feel like a true Duke.

Mallory comes from a wealthy family that have done a lot of researched on magic. Mallory has always been a very ambitious and stubborn girl since she was little, her parents always provided her with everything she needed starts from her study, toys, dresses, food and anything else without questioning. But since her body is weak she can't go out of the house as she pleases and the fact that her parent are always busy with work makes the matter even worse, that is why her parents decided to hire some servants to keep her company at home when they're at work. But the age gap between the servants and her doesn't really help much and she dreams of having a friends her age. 7 years later when she was 10 years old, One day when she was reading a book about the history of Slytherin she learned about some unique ability called Parselmouth, at first she wasn't really interested in it but when she read something about snake language she suddenly stop reading and remember something from the past, it was when she was only 4 years old, she was playing at the garden jumping and running until she saw some snake coming towards her, at first she was scared but then the snake talk to her and wants to play with her, knowing that the snake doesn't have any ill intent she started playing with the snake, maybe it was because of her weak body that she rarely get out from her house and play with the other children, she's just too happy to have someone to play with, on the other hand the servant that was going out in a while came back with the shocking view of her playing with some deadly snake. The shock causes the servant to act rather rashly and kick away the snake, making it wounded. Mallory doesn't know what to do except to cry, she learned from that accident that if she wants to play with the snake she has to be secret about it, when the situation calmed she sneek out of her room to look for the wounded snake, she saw it behind the tree crying in pain, seeing it dhe quickly apply some medicine on the wound and make the snake feel better, the snake then said thank you and chatted with her until it was late. She then said goodbye to the snake, although she's sad she can't help it because the snake also has their own home to go back to. It was until just now that she found out that it was a special ability that not anyone can have, only someone with a blood relation to the Salazar Slytherin or someone that have relation with Voldemorts can have this ability, this ability is as great as the dangerous is. Knowing this she becomes more careful with her action and the way she uses Parseltongue because it can cause a big misunderstanding that may lead to harming her family and friends, but maybe she will find a way to use it for her own advantage.

Madison started learning to play Quidditch from her dad at the age of 2, and is very skilled for a child of her age, though once you meet her dad and see her play, how good she is comes as no surprise to anyone. Her dad was a chaser during his time at Hogwarts, and won multiple seasons with his fellow Hufflepuff teammates, so, it comes as no surprise to anyone, that Madison not only joined the Quidditch team, but chose to become a chaser like her dad. When any of her dads’ old teammates from both Hogwarts and from the England Quidditch team, saw Madison play Quidditch with her dad, they all noted that she was extremely talented for her age.

Having trained with her dad from a very young age, Madison has many of the qualities people would see in a star Quidditch player. She is fast, a quick thinker and very focused when on the field. She knows the job she must do once she’s out there and she does it remarkably well.

When Madison is on the Quidditch pitch, with crowds cheering and her teammates flying around her, she feels free. Free from any obligations she has in her life, free from hearing her mother yell at her for being covered in dirt because she’s playing too rough and free from thinking about whether she wants to make her own path or follow in the one that her mother took.
Madison’s dad taught her everything he knows about Quidditch, especially from a chasers point of view, so, when Madison, who was 8 at the time, played a little game with her dad’s team against some other Hogwarts Alumni players, it gave her dad great pride to watch his daughter score goal after goal, and all he needed to do was get the quaffle to her, he knew she could handle the rest on her own, though he did have to help her occasionally.

Even though Madison is 11, her dad got a letter from one of his old teammates, who now works with the Montrose Magpies, letting him know that they’d be interested in working with Madison, if she is. Her natural skill and talent had been widely talked about through the Quidditch community, and someone even bought up that she could be one of the youngest top league players if she keeps up what she’s doing now.

Madison has the “trained eyesight of a Chaser”, as her dad would say, therefore it comes as no surprise to anyone that she has swifter than normal reflexes despite her young age. Madison loves Quidditch and wants to become one of the best players in the world, something that she could very much do if she keeps progressing and playing at the rate and calibre that she is.

Describe why this fits your character:
Length-25 centimeters
-Kaori is a determined individual, while nervous she always likes to try and do her best and help others despite this Kaori falls more onto her mother side, unlike her father who tends to put himself in danger or go about things without thinking them through Kaori is very thoughtful, taking in information around her before she plans what to do next. A more quiet and refined personality shows in her wand as well.(74 words)

Core-Unicorn Hair
Kaori of course has been a late bloomer in most things magical. So of course her magics would something reliable and of course the trusty Unicorn core would be the one to seek her out. Trusty, reliable, and loyal as long as she takes care of her wand she trusts the wand will take care of her to protect and guide her on her magical journey.(66 words)

Wood-Cherry wood
Kaori is the first person in a couple generations of her family to have a Cherry Wood wand, even rare in Japan her parents were concerned at first at whether or not Kaori would be able to handle it but their Wandmaker assured them that the wand has chosen correctly. A Unicorn core and Cherry wood they said would provide a balance, a yin and yang. The Cherry wood always wanting to set itself free and unleash its potential as the Unicorn hair brings it down to Earth and calms its nerves to serve the wizard or witch. With such a pairing Kaori finds herself in possession of a powerful wand tempered by the polite loyalty of the Unicorn but the fierce protectiveness of the Cherry wood. This unique pairing has given some hope in her family that she willl turn into a powerful Witch yet.(146 words)

Flexbility: Sturdy

Kaori, despite her openness and willingness and learn new things and meet new people is still a person. Her lack of strong-convictions (to put it nicely) results in a sturdy wand as Kaori understands her morals and principles and will tend to be unwavering in them but with enough pressure or convincing will cave and she can bend a little. Her wand reflects that in its sturdy nature to show her internal strong morales but its not so strong that it can't bend just a little.

---------

Upon Kaori's acceptance into Hogwarts her family took her back to Japan to get her wand. While they were sure that this Ollivander's produced very quality wands for nearly 1,000 years the Morita's have recieved their wands from a reclusive Wandmaker near Rinnoji Temple in Northern Japan(where they also originate from) this was a tradition they didn't want to break up anytime soon and so there Kaori went. Her process took up the better part of 2 days as her family partakes in the more traditional process of Wand selection. In these 2 days Kaori was presented with dozens of dozens of wands. Only 1 she could touch for herself and as she picked up each one the Wandmaker would simply shake his head and she would set it down.

Eventually in her final set she came across it, 25cm, Cherry wood, Unicorn hair core. Of course at the time she didn't know it but as she went about the ritual and approached the wands she immediately felt something different. They always say that the wand picks the user and when Kaori picked up her wand even though she couldn't say why she didn't feel it was arbitrary this time. The Wandmaker, even a little surprised himself at what she chose approached her and simply said, "Never let this wand go Morita-sama. It will never let you go." As the Wandmaker explained to her parents what wand had chosen her all she could think as she left the temple is how glad she was she no longer had to kneel and pray and stare at wands all day!(266 words)

As a little girl, Remedy learned early on that wands were fickle creatures -- that all that a witch or wizard could control, was themself. She did not quite understand the message behind her father's warning, but after a childhood consisting of watching her father compete in National Dueling and then, later, training his team, Remedy witnessed several instances of perfect duelists' spellcasting fail, merely staying afloat in battle because their ability to dodge. It was then that the girl connected the dots and began her training, though without a wand, but with other methods that would prepare the girl for the future.

The young witch would undergo light training alongside her father and his duelists, enjoying training exercises that would enhance her ability to invade. In the blistering heat of the summer, her father would 'engorgio' items to create mock pools, filling the vacant space with water to create resistence as her father would hurl balls at them, requiring them to dodge with added resistence of liquid that would limit their movements. In the winter months, they would play a similar game on land (dodgeball) that was more fast-paced and intense. These group activities not only enhanced Remedy's reflexes, but they provided her with the opportunity to learn from trial and error. Though the intensity with which her father would push his daughter's limits and ability did not match the capacity he pushed his team, Remedy still took this training with an equal level of seriousness.

In the off-seasons of national dueling, Remedy and her parents enjoyed these games together as a family, and later introduced the art of fencing as she aged. Her father and mother coached Remedy in the different disciplines of fencing and required her to be sidelined as they competed in mock tournaments, occasionally pausing their duel to go over technique and footwork when one or the other scored a point. Remedy was originally annoyed and loathed the fact that she couldn't participate in the duels because of age, but after some time she realized that observing her parents engage would educate her more than anything else ever could -- especially when Remedy was finally handed the epee.

Analyzing her parents fencing and accompanying her father's team drills became her lifeline, long far before Remedy would ever wield a wand. She wasn't the best athlete among her age group, but the girl would be conditioned in techniques that would provide an advantage to her future of spell casting. In just a few years of emphasizing this skill, Remedy would remain light on her feet, avoid leaning too far forward or planting her heels, lose balance, and practice how to pivot between blows, or in this case, incoming rubber balls.

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Calming Presence
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it): How does one develop a calming presence? What is the prerequisite for ease in gaining trust or understanding of one's peers? If it was understanding people, Nellie had that, easily. She'd spent countless hours watching and observing human interactions and understood nuances in those social interactions. It did nothing, however, to soothe her social anxiety. Or was it just something you were born with? Perhaps some witch or wizard somewhere in her lineage had gifted her with her calming presence, though she would never know for sure.

Her ability likely became the most apparent after the twins were born. Micah and Mika were colicky babies and often screamed inconsolably. Even now, as Nellie allowed herself to remember, she could hear their screams...

It was midnight, perhaps later, though certainly no early. Nellie was pulled from her dream by the shrill cries from the nursery the next room over. Micah and Mika were only a couple weeks old and had cried most of their young lives so far. The seven year old Nellie laid in her bed for a few moments. It was warm there. Comfortable, too. She didn't want to get up. The girl could hear her parents in the other room. She could hear the stress in their hushed voices. The floorboards creaked in the old house as they walked back and forth. Nellie could almost see them in her mind's eye, attempting to rock the twins to sleep as they paced.

With a sigh, she sat up in bed and swung her legs over the side. She slipped her feet into her waiting slippers. As warm as her slippers were, her bed was warmer. She already missed the weight of her comforter around her. But her brother and sister needed her. She stood. Her steps made very little sound, her lithe, childish form hardly weighing down the old floors. When she entered the room, her parents turned to look at her. "Go back to bed, sweetheart. It's okay." Her parents' protests were ignored as she moved instead to sit in the rocking chair the was kept in the nursery. With outstretched arms, she gestured to her father for her sister, Mika, the louder of the twins. With hesitation in his face, he glanced to his wife. Taking her nod as a form of acceptance, he moved and placed the baby in the girl's arms.

"It's ok, baby. I'm here. Shh. Shh.." The effect was not immediate, but it was clear nonetheless. The screaming softened, the crying eased. Eventually, the baby just looked at her big sister. Even Micah, who was still in their mother's arms, quieted. Alice and Han looked at each other, astonished but glad. That night, sleep was had. At least for a couple of hours.
